lol, pretty sure you’re just trolling, but I’ll bite. You still aren’t really thinking it through. Legendaries just don’t apply to a large enough percentage of the player base to put that particular piece of info out in multiple official formats. Getting it out in one and leaving word of mouth to carry it the rest of the way is fine.

As for whether you should be expected to use secondary sources for information, well, yes, obviously. Did that really need to be answered? You complained about how the information wasn’t in-game, but it was. Again, word of mouth’s fine for something that doesn’t affect a large portion of the player base.

As for wvw map completion, the point of what I was saying was that if you go far enough back, yes, legendaries did actually require wvw to make, but after that requirement was gone, so was the need to do wvw at all, until now. You’re just splitting hairs.

For the dungeon requirement, the legendary as it is still requires a huge amount of pve in the form of the gift of exploration, so I don’t really care that they made the dungeon gift obtainable in wvw/spvp. Not really sure why people would get it in wvw since it takes at most, what, two hours in pve (split between two days), and closer to 20-30 hours in wvw. But even if someone did get the dungeon gift from wvw, that + gift of battle would still probably not take as long as the gift of exploration. So there’s still lots of pve required.

I would have liked if legendaries actually required spvp, too, though. And I’m saying that as someone who barely touches spvp. XD

For the gear stats/runes/sigils, are you honestly trying to compare something purely cosmetic to something that actually affects your build and effectiveness? We were talking very specifically about a high end purely-optional-no-matter-how-you-look-at-it item, not something that affects how well you’re able to play a certain role.

Lol, your basic premise is flawed and unsustainable because you have absolutely no idea how many people lost WvW currency with the change, no idea how many players are working on Legendaries, and no idea how many will in the future.

What the PvE community doesn’t understand is that WvW players are likely, very used to selective communication, losing the value of the game play time and effort spent in the past, not wanting to say anything because it might cost players, and not having enough impact in the forum to deal with it, just so the Dev’s can make the game mode work. That must be more important than doing things ethically. They must see people whining, when players put ethics before the game mode.

Given their clear attempt to hide this by merging all those threads, even when they were discussing totally different issues, and the fact that they have said absolutely nothing, tells me either they don’t know how to put the vendor back without affecting the WvW track, or the selective communications was a clear attempt to destroy the value of players rewards earned in the past, trying to get them to do the content over again. The patch notes did not say what day, week, month or year that this would happen.

So, either way, reading every patch note, every time one comes out, will not protect you from losing the value of the rewards you earned in the past.
I hope everyone understands this.

There used to be a list here of all the 5 linked event chains on the different maps. Teq is best but those others are good too. I like the Svannir Chief chain too because it immediately follows Teq so you can get 10 events worth of karma in about 25 minutes.
Timely use of candy canes can add 10% karma too.
The Golem or the Hydra Queen follows the Karka Queen too, for good karma.

Patch notes from April 19 2016.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-April-19-2016

Also, once the reward tracks feature exits beta testing, the Gift of Battle legendary crafting component will no longer be available as a vendor purchase and will be earned via its own reward track.

Everyone was informed on April 19th, 2016. That is 2 months you had to get it and DECIDED not to.

Read patch notes or just be uninformed, don’t blame ANET for your choices.

It doesn’t matter how many threads you post this in. While the patch notes are accurate, it only proves that no date was given. There was no way to know when WvW beta would end.
I read the patch notes, and all the following patch notes, looking for when.
THEY DIDN’T SAY.

If we earned enough badges in the past to buy multiple Badges of Honor, level 14 is not an issue.
The communication issue doesn’t affect the reason, but it does affect the statement.

It was already a requirement to play WvW for the Gift of Battle. No change there.
The OP here suggests we only play PvE to get it, but leave the track in WvW.
So, no WvW required. I think we both disagree with that but I firmly believe part of what is driving this proposal is the effect of the poor communication.
Aside from the other tracks and rewards, the only significant change was the removal of the vendor that let ALL players spend their rewards earned in WvW, without actually ever saying when, in any patch notes ever.
For some of us, your last statement will be totally accurate when they replace the vendor temporarily, and not before. It’s not an attack on you or disagreement in what you are saying, it’s just more than that for some of us.

I accidentally got one the other day. I don’t get it? Whats the big deal? PvE nerds (I swear i mean nerds in a good way) super spoiled ? Don’t like doing part of the game you hate to excel at another? Bababababalance

I agree that they are much easier to get now THAN WHEN WE EARNED THEN BEFORE and they removed the vendor so we cant buy the Gift of Battle WITH THE CURRENCY WE ALREADY EARNED.

Nothing to do with balance or playing WvW when it’s a change that simply prevents us from using the rewards we earned.

If I want more Gifts of Battle, then I will play MORE WvW without problem.

If you earned it already, why don’t you have it? I am not sure if you’re angry or agreeing that the change they made is fine… Very confusing post lol.

Seriously, if you are collecting components to make a Legendary Weapon, are you going to fill your storage with Gifts of Battle when you can buy them anytime? No.
They never even said when WvW was going to leave Beta, even if you did somehow catch the initial comment in the massive patch note’s walls of text.
If you think about it, nobody should support the elimination of WvW rewards hidden in selective communication.

No, it tells you that while I agree with the OP’s many statements on healing and how it has changed, it does not address the simple fact that many of us now have level 80 healers, not geared for healing, that we never wanted.

No thanks to putting the Gift of Battle behind a whole bunch of masteries that I do not want to complete and are not WvW related. It would be different if they were locked behind WvW related masteries. But Fractals aren’t WvW. Jumping Puzzles aren’t WvW. The open world bosses aren’t WvW.

If you don’t like WvW and can’t stomach it long enough to get the Gift of Battle, then you can still get a legendary. You just have to buy one off of the trading post.

Gift of Battle is to show that you have played WvW. Open World PvE is not WvW.

Your last sentence is not correct. The Gift of Battle is now to show that you have played WvW, earned the rewards you sought, lost those rewards when Anet hid the language on Legendary Weapon components in WvW patch notes, even though there was a Legendary section, and now you have to do it all again.
That is what it accurately shows.

What I said is correct.

Whether or not ANet handled the switch properly or not is entirely separate issue than one being discussed in this thread. FYI: I don’t think they handled it right and should have had the vendor still sell Gifts of Battle for BoH for at least 4 more weeks.

Yes, it may eventually be correct. The reason this thread is here though is to eliminate the need for playing WvW to get the Gift of Battle. That is partly desired because of how this was poorly communicated. I think we should be required to play some WvW for one Legendary component. If I want more, I will play WvW more.
They should temporarily replace the vendor and eliminate part of what is driving this threads discussion.

Sorry, but when we picked our characters classes, we were not told that they would be changed to only fit specific roles. I have a good 4k hours on my Ranger and now it’s just a crafter only.
I will never play a Ranger as a healer, ever. We should have been offered a level 80 character replacement as a minimum when this was done. Ranger as it was used, was destroyed.

There are two issues here.

1. We did WvW and earned many badges. There was no point in spending them all filling storage. This change destroyed the time and effort spent in WvW. Everyone should be upset that this happened without sufficient notice.

2. Many PvE players don’t want to do WvW to make a Legendary Weapon. That’s not their choice, It’s Anets choice. Period.

The first complaint is very valid. The second is simply expressing displeasure.

Anet rolled all the threads into this monster thread to hide their terrible job of selective communication, once again. WvW players are only responding to the PvE’rs expressed displeasure and not realizing that the loss of rewards earned in WvW is never a good thing for them.

Anet,

This kind of thing can happen to any of us (PVE’ers, WvW’ers, sPvPer’s, Dung/Frac/Raid runners, etc) if this kind of communication approach is repeated with something of this magnitude.

This guy/lady here made a very good and well thought out comment, and I just want to raise a very strong point mentioned by him/her. Have you considered that this abrupt change and failure in maintaining sufficient communication with players is the real problem to this 12 pages rant/debate/discussion here? I believe there were massive changes that were not well communicated to players which led to massive outrage by the community as well, one of it was the karma change.

Before WvWers go raging on PvEr’s for not going to wvw and vice versa, can we take a step back and address this issue with ANET instead. Why is their communication channel so flawed? Im pretty sure if they were to revamp old legendaries weapons to includeRaid/fractal reward tracks without PRIOR notice (doesnt exist yet, and i know of the legend backpacks but exclude them, lets just say the weapons), all of you SPVP and WvW players will go crazy too.

The biggest flaw in this case, is the failure to maintain good communication.

EDIT: right now im more concerned about how they manage their communication with players than the change with GOB. Now its GOB, next could be much drastic. And see how ANET is hiding behind the scene, being so passive about this change when theres so much feedback by players. Im worried about their selective communication.

I hope they see the impact communications has on wvw and also on Legendary Weapons. It’s entirely they’re choice what happens with the gift of battle. The communications issue has an entirely different impact on us.
If the value of rewards we achieved suddenly lose their value because of selective communications, that tells me that buying a Legendary Weapon is the only safe way to go. Why gather components when they can become worthless. Selling is safer.
Why buy bags and slots and storage characters to collect all those components when it’s safer and cheaper to sell everything and then buy the Legendary Weapon?
If I’m saving up components, then I’m likely to use the market a lot, but If I’m saving gold, I’m likely avoiding the market. How does this work for Anet?

Don’t forget you can get Quartz Crystals from a home instance node too. I’ve been collecting those and converting them into Charged Quartz, about one every 5 days, and after crafting a light, medium and heavy set of Celestial armor There must still be near 500 left. I try to look at all the required components of anything I might craft in the future and start making those time gated items way in advance, and if I end up not needing them, they still bring good gold when sold.

Tumult.2578

The real question to the people who said they saved up on badges.

Why didn’t you just buy the gift when you had 500 badges if you dont even need them for anything else?

Easy answer. Few PvE players posting here knew they had another value. They were a one use item, for many years, with a natural expectation that significant time would pass before we would need another one. Most of us simply considered them the currency they are and always expected to spend them in the future. That’s all they were. To assume we would buy a bunch at once and then store them doesn’t make sense. Why would we take up additional storage space like that while storing all the components for a legendary?

Did the Gift of Battle have another use before the change that eliminated the vendor?

So there has been some discussion. Let me add that the article specifically said they are unlikely to play a first person shooter. That’s what caught my eye and made me think maybe cooperative PvE, and then naturally, reduced rewards.
Yes, some of us started playing text based games in the early 90s and then every hack and slash that came along but we are not an accurate representation of the age group in question.

You may be right. There may be little interest in things like legendaries, but when I think back to starting this game that doesn’t really have that much beginning documentation, Legendaries held a prominent place among all that documentation available. It’s easy to take a basic look at loot and how it’s designed to be sold for gold, or restructured into crafting materials so we can buy or make better and better gear, except not the final goal, the best.
I simply think many if not most older starting players will recognize this simple fact and it will affect their buying decision(s).
I’m saying it also because this game has alot to offer those players and I think they would really enjoy it, but may not see that right away.

I’m not trying to say anything derogatory about any specific game mode, only that it seems reasonable to assume that most of these potential new players would be more likely to join the game if all rewards were available in the game mode of their choice.

I’d expect they are smart enough to try the free2play first. The first thing they’d see is the dailies motivating players into every game mode, which is good, until they find what they like, and then find they can only get some of the rewards there?
That’s where I think we lose most who would buy.

People born in the 1950s and 1960s were somewhere near the age of 25 when the first Personal Computers went for sale to the public. During the next 35 years, they used computers more and more each year at work and then at home. They are now retiring in large numbers, to a life with some extra leisure time and buying power. Reading the AARP Bulletin shows a study citing larger and larger numbers of these retirees are entering the online gaming world. Do you think they will be looking for challenge, for difficulty, for complication, for requirements that force them into specific content? I suspect that is very unlikely. They will be looking for fun. Plain and simple fun.

These are not people disadvantaged by “no child left behind”. They received at least good to excellent educations from high schools, equivalent to a college education of today, and often more. They know how to find a goal of value and achieve that goal regardless of the level of difficulty included. But they did that for most of their real lives. Now they just want to play a game and have fun at it. Personally I believe GW2’s cooperative PvE could draw in a whole lot of those future players and their significant ability to spend money, to the game.

The single biggest thing that will surely prevent this from happening is the movement over the last year or so to require game play in the other two game modes, PvP and WvW, in order to achieve most of the game’s worthwhile rewards. These people have fought their whole lives to achieve what they have and now they just want to have fun. Does anyone really think that class of player will thrive in that trash talking player versus player combat? I just can’t see it happening.

Anyway, I just thought a large influx of wealthy players might help, but the game seems to be moving away from that possibility. Ok, gotta go apply for medicare…

And it’d be hilarious if they actually did. Afk for one tick = booted from WvW and no points for participation.

Yeah, none of these Pve’rs are smart enough to use all your supply everywhere building worthless seige. That’s not an issue is it. Even if that seige wont defend when there’s no supply to repair.

Very true.. If I feel forced I don’t play nice. I’m sure all WvW:ers don’t explore the world with a smile on their lips either.
I was already in there for 8 hours longer than I wanted to be; so minimal effort is what you get.

I highly doubt you’ll see WvW’ers in PvE intentionally derailing event chains, killing an Octovine when the map is holding for another side to catch up, tagging up and leading zergs astray so metas fail, etc all because they may not like PvE. That’s essentially what you’re doing: Throwing a tantrum because you can’t get your way. Times like this make me wish I could craft a box of Pampers and a juice box. Vials of Salt just don’t seem like enough.

Why would they? There was no change that requires them to replay PvE content that they have already completed. If there was I would support that type of response your referring to.

Look, for me there is no interest in camps or keeps, repairing, capturing or any of that.
There is no interest in buffs or rewards or tracks or schemes to generate massive amounts of gold, or any of that. Being from Anvil Rock I’m used to not having any WvW generated buffs. Don’t want them if they are generated.

Let me drive this home. If Wvw gives me 10 times the gold for the same time spent as in PvE I still wouldn’t want to do it.
Most importantly, I already tried it all, for way too long, and hated every minute of it.
So, if I somehow decide to compromise my ethics and do this stuff, don’t be surprised when you go for supply and it’s gone.

Play as you want is disappearing rapidly. The movement to require completion of content in PvE, WvW and PvP is being added to any achievement of significance. As long as you enjoy everything the game has to offer it’s not a problem. If there’s a single area of the game you don’t like, that is YOUR PROBLEM now, and the game is HUGE.

The last forced WvW for the Gift of Battle has me spending my game time, looking for a new game. So. dying? No. Significantly dropping in players? yes. Will the 6 precursors in my bank rot away there? most likely.

The next “expansion” will determine whether this goes to a monthly fee in my estimate. Kind doubt I’ll see it.

We will have no interest in your WvW interests or goals.
We will be in varying stages of anger.
We will act with one single purpose which is to rank up for the Gift of Battle and most won’t care how we do it or what the affects are on the WvW community.

Since it’s been a couple years and likely many changes, for me, my question to you WvW players is what would you suggest we do to rank up and achieve our goal so we can then leave as fast as possible, without negatively impacting your goals? Remember, while some of us might be productive or helpful for you, many will not be, and some will never fight another player, so what things can we do that don’t disrupt or delay your goals?

Just for perspective, if you copy the the patch notes that include the comment on this issue, and put them into a standard Word document, you can find the language on page 23 of 40, in the last 8500 words of over 19000 words, in paragraph 697 of 1169.

This last patch has 4 pages, 1323 words, and 111 paragraphs, and there are 3 sets of patch notes between then and now.

The actual language includes no date but only says "when the rewards track feature exits beta testing. "

There was no warning that beta testing was ending anywhere.

I know your working hard to improve the game and that requires a lot of patch notes, but is this the improved level of communication we were told to expect after that last issue? I’d prefer to assume it was a simple oversight to not include a date when beta testing was done, after not giving a date when this would happen in the first patch notes.

Putting the vendor back up temporarily, allows players who aren’t currently playing WvW to spend their badges without playing more WvW. Those badges were earned.

It doesn’t require any other change to the reward track.
It reduces the number of basically unhelpful players and makes access to WvW easier.
Do we want angry PvE players coming here with totally different goals? Do we want big PvE guilds flooding our lobby to farm badges of honor only?
This is not how we get more players, it is how we make players stay away longer.

I guess the lesson you learned was to actually read the patch notes. It’s a good lesson to learn, especially when you go to do something like purchase a home or a car and you really SHOULD be paying attention to the fine print.

TIL: An online video game should be treated just like buying a home or a car.

You can learn life-lessons from everywhere. Just because you’re playing a video game doesn’t mean you have to turn your brain off.

What life lesson will you be learning when you are back here in a few weeks complaining about all the players in WvW who just sit there doing nothing more than take up a spot on the map?
Plenty of us that have already played WvW and earned thousands of badges and now can’t spend those badges are very angry over this!
What will you do if players organize a “sit in” in WvW effectively preventing success?

Why would I read the beta patch notes for a part of the game I don’t enjoy and don’t play, when the change is for Legendary Weapon components and should have been shown there, were we did read?

This thread isn’t about whether this change is good for WvW. It’s about the rewards we worked to achieve there, and how they are worthless to us now. We got them for one purpose and now that purpose is gone, and our opportunity to use them is now gone, simply because of exceptionally poor communication on Anets part.

The real problem here is that this change was only included in the WvW Rewards Track Beta area and not in the Legendary Weapons area. Plenty of players don’t play WvW enough to track beta changes in massive patch notes, but have plenty of Badges of Honor in preparation of buying the Gift of Battle when they have accumulated much of the rest of a legendary components.

This should have been clearly included in the Legendary Weapons area and I believe this oversight warrants a temporary replacement of the Gift of Battle vendor.

When there’s lot’s of comments saying this is natural, I like to ask questions.

How long before it becomes natural for a lot of players to no longer look at the Gem market?

How many players have already stopped even looking or considering gem purchases of any kind?

Sure there’s more readily available gold but that doesn’t mean it’s going towards gems, or will in the future, for many players. How many players have said to themselves “I simply can’t spend more than one gold for 4 gems”?

Doesn’t this make the division between the haves and the have nots, so much more obvious to players?

It’s not buy to win but can’t it look a whole lot like it?

I just don’t like the questions this all brings.

All of life looks like buy to win then if looking like buy to win is spending to buy fluff and convenience items.

If you have the gold and nothing you need or want on the trading post, why not convert it to gems? It’s not going to keep you warm at night or fund your retirement. Unless you like seeing your gold get higher and higher there’s no real reason not to convert gold to gems. You can even set up a regular purchase plan. Get X amount of extra gold and turn it into gems, or once a week buy X amount of gems. Gold in this game is not needed once you’re geared up and you have the skins you want.

I agree. You give sound advice that I have tried to follow from the start of the game.
But that doesn’t change the questions or my concern that more players are intentionally avoiding the purchase of gems with gold or for that matter with cash. At some point those players will stop looking, have less interest, become more easily drawn away. Just not good. At least with gems for gold, players were still investing more of themselves into the game. They could more easily last until new content reenergized the game and the market. Now, if they look back at some point, they will see an even bigger divide between where they are and where they see others are.

I’m fine with Anet making money. No money, no game. I just think it’s a bad time for this price increase for gems purchased with gold. I also am not an economist so I am not convinced that this isn’t being pushed heavily by a few well to do players, as I’ve heard others suggest in game.

That “small percentage” isn’t actually as small as you think. I raid usually 4 times a week and really enjoy them. Anet did a great job with designing the raids, and I absolutely encourage them to continue to make more.

Like the above posts have said, if you don’t raid or know the lore of Guild Wars, the new teaser may not make much sense, but it makes enough sense for me. As well as encourages some interesting speculation.

Raid wing 3 just further confirms that the white mantle are going to be one of the main focuses for living story 3; the old enemies that were present in gw1. And since this is the last wing to the entire raid we should be seeing legendary armor finally being introduced into the game soon, as well as living story 3. Maybe in july.

I got all that, just from this small teaser. And the fact that most of you don’t know that just means that whether you hate it or not; you are all missing out.

That is humorous. I’m missing out, and glad of it!
Don’t misunderstand, I’m glad the content you enjoy is available for you, just like the content I enjoy is available to me.

This is still, content only a small percentage of players even care to do. Anet will make one last attempt to push this because the difficulty ties in with e-sports. That push will be gating legendary armor behind this content. Think the Forums and Reddit will explode when the first few pieces get seen? Maybe. Think this will push more players into raids that will succeed in that content? Unlikely.

I believe a much larger, and less vocal, percentage of the playing population would like to see the gating of rewards, behind specific content, removed from the game. Content should stand on it’s own,

Gem prices have doubled in price.

Waiting

The OP asked for more mastery points in more places. A solid suggestion that points to the obvious fact that because there is so much different content in the game, not everybody is going to like everything there is in the game.
Failure to acknowledge this fact has cost the game lost player after lost player.

I understand the desire to maintain the difficulty of achievements we have achieved.
But why so much effort to prevent others from obtaining achievements in the area’s of the game that they enjoy? Are you saying “If I had to do it, you should have to too”? Sure, I remember that, from 3rd grade.

Were any of you planning on listing these achievements on a resume? Come on.
No matter how much you want more players in the areas you want to play, the methods used now prevent it. The daily’s are not moving masses of players into any specific area for any longer than it takes to get the gold. Then they are gone. That’s human nature. Continuing to try to gate achievements behind specific areas that players don’t enjoy will only result in fewer players. More paths to success, more players.
I’m playing the game, but waiting for changes before ever trying to complete certain content, and there are plenty of others doing the same. Nope, I have no idea what the Mastery number is behind my name because it’s not important to me. It could become important though.

Best way to level 1-80?

If I might suggest, guides can be helpful but it can also be a lot of fun taking your time exploring the whole game. There are a lot of things that can be tried in this game and following someone else’s guide pretty much limits you to what they like.
You could buy the resources and craft to level 80 in a day but then you would be at the top, able to use the best gear and weapons, etc, and not know even the basics of how to play you character or what to expect from others, or what things you’d like to spend your time and effort on.
Check out the guides, but take enough time to learn what “you” like and in the process, how to do it best.

Better rewards for failing frozen maw?

The Svannir Shaman Chief, which is the world boss, shows up every 2 hours and the event that he shows up at starts at the 15 minute mark. There are 5 events when he shows up; protect supplies, escort, destroy totem, destroy guards and portals, kill Shaman.

In between those events, are smaller events that never generate the Shaman. But they do include the first 3 of that series of 5 events. Protect supplies, escort, and destroy totem, and then it ends. This occurs about every 15 minutes and gives no chest.

Because those smaller events run so much more often, players get confused over which is happening. If it’s isn’t on the World Boss Timers as a world boss event, the Shaman doesn’t show and the string of events will end with the destruction of the totem.

Failing any of the string of events will not improve rewards, ever.

PVE not competitive enough.

Your basing this proposal on the claim that PvE is too easy.
Simple solution? Fight naked. When you have beaten everything there is in PvE solo and naked to prove your claim, come back and tell us your proposal again. Make sure you do all those world bosses when nobody else is there. We likely still won’t agree but maybe one of us will learn something about succeeding by cooperating.

The cost of gems is looking to double in less than a year.
This cripples new players.

Which new players? the ones willing to spend cash for gems are getting better value. The ones starting new characters are getting more for the “useless” items (relative to current costs) for stuff they accumulate while leveling up.

The only new characters who might be worse off are those who are cheapskates (like I am) and then they are only delayed in purchasing stuff from the gem shop, none of which is essential to enjoying the game.

There doesn’t seem to be anything in place to deal with this kind of surge.

The market is in place to deal with “this kind of surge.” It’s not the first spike in the history of gold:gem rates and it won’t be the last (in the past, spikes have always been followed by sudden dips and/or gradual declines).

Yes, there’s more gold but is it realistic to think that the majority of players are now buying a bunch of stuff from the Gem shop? Especially with all the gold sinks now in game?

I don’t understand what “gold sinks” have to do with buying stuff from the gem shop. People have pointed out the many reasons why gem:gold is the highest it’s ever been. There are several factors, so it’s not only “realistic”, it’s been fairly predictable.

Isn’t there a huge advantage for the rich buying the cost of gems way up, to prevent others from buying the same things and better maintaining the value of their purchases?

This is always true: the 1% have always had an advantage (and will continue to do so). There’s no game system in which those who play less and/or less efficiently get to spend more.

The attempt to “buy to win” never really stops….

What does that mean? How can you “buy to win” in GW2? You can look shinier, but you can’t play better for having more to spend.

Lol, I was only speculating on the surge in gem prices we have noticed enough to discuss here, not looking for an argument. I’m not an mmo game economist and suspect few post in these forums.

You must understand how much longer it takes now, as a new player, earning enough gold in game to play the game more effectively. The urge to buy new storage slots and bags is strong. The Market has clearly done nothing to impact this surge, I did say surge not spike, because it’s increased for months. Gold sinks reduce available gold, reducing the ability to buy gems with gold.

Actually we are alike in our gem purchasing. It doesn’t mean that much to me. I simply have witnessed this significant increase and don’t extend a whole lot of trust in a game when I am often reporting gold sellers, having players kite monsters to me because they think I might be afk, ported away from chests, or in game mailed that my account is being shut down, lol. It’s a game and players are capable of anything.

You clearly don’t see a problem. I hope your right.

I don’t disagree with anything your saying, although I suspect “Gems for Gold” purchases are heavily from the rich. The gem shop items are inherently for looks and not for improving game ability. It’s all accumulative.
The rate of increase simply makes me suspect something else is also going on here.

Short bow to more classes

I used to use the shortbow on my Ranger years ago. I haven’t found a weapon that is as much fun as the shortbow was then. It’s increased damage when hitting from behind added a fun challenge and it dealt damage rapidly.
It’s not the same weapon now and I wont use it but the more people who can, the more people who’ll post here when it’s nerfed to fix some PvP problem, so go for it.
