Will the longbow nerf actually kill all condition builds for wvw?
Because I don’t see condition damage being viable without a longbow and its burst skill just got a 30% damage nerf.

Only the physical damage is going to be nerfed. Condition gets a buff with the increase to the burning duration.

Using melandru runes on another prof? Good joke i guess. Mesmer/ranger almost mandatory need traveler/speed runes to keep up with zerg (or sacrafice skill slot, and thus stunbreaker viability wich they absolutelly need against warrior stunlocks).

Doesn´t a zerg always has enough aoe-swiftness?

We’ll get some sort of schedule out as soon as we have the matchups. I’ll post it up on the forums and then we’ll find a way to get it out more broadly as well. The matchups aren’t locked in until the season actually starts. So, while EU is ready, NA won’t be ready for 6.5 more hours.

I was dismayed to see that they are part of the achievement and that it’s virtually impossible to avoid them.

I have a choice – forgo the ‘reward’ or waste my time on them. I’ll pass. Yet another disappointment.

There are 19 achievements, from which you need 15 for the reward. Only 4 are JPs so it is possible for you to get the reward without setting a foot in the JPs.

The Dogged March trait reduces chill, immobilize and cripple by 33%.

These are cumulative with food, and runes. So in total, you remove 98% uptime of chill, immobilize and cripple and 65% of the others.

Effectively, given that you basically divide each time by 50, you’re immobilized for not even a tenth of a second, which is entirely neglectible, hence the exageration to 100% in the above post.

I´m aware of that trait but the posts were about damaging conditions.

You don’t see perma 100% damage reduction except for condition damage.

Plus they can reduce condition damage duration up to 100% is an overkill.

How do you get the 45% bonus damage?

Hi Dina,

Here are some answers for you:

1. We don’t release this number but this answer can be derived from the answer to your second question. i.e. total players = map cap * 4

2. There is a per-map player limit but we don’t release this number either, though it’s possible to infer from observation. This is especially true now that culling is gone.

3. The per-map player limit is also per-team. Each team has an independent limit and players from one team cannot ever prevent players from the other teams from entering a map.

I’m sure that’s more cryptic than you’d like but that’s the information I can release.

With the old matchup system people complained that the matches were too stale. EU tier 1 and 2 for example were the same for about two months and it took the complete breakdown of two servers to change it.

i see moaaar ac! all we need is the body block from gw1. i want to see the number of siege stuffs decrasing. maybe max 3 from each kind of siege thing in a tower, 10 in a keep and ~15 in sm.
i hate when 30 enemy run in and build 10 ac within a second. thats a no skill gameplay.

I would hate to defend a tower against 30 enemies with only three acs.

Simple question. Why is there an aoe cap? And no, please do not come up with that “technical limitation” lie. There has been thousands games before this with massive pvp and no aoe cap, why would your engine be somehow so infernior to that of these older games?

What you seem to be missing is that technical limitations are not about the fact that a solution somewhere may have existed for some other thing. Our game is using an engine that has these technical limitations. We could, for instance, display everything as text, which would solve the problem quite nicely, however we’ve found that our graphics offer something a text-based MMO couldn’t quite deliver. The point is, it is very much a limitation of our engine. The load on the server CPU would be quite simply unsustainable if we were to increase the AoE cap as the more players hit by skills the more calculations it has to do and it actually starts increasing exponentially, rather than sequentially. We continue to seek out ways to squeeze more performance out of our game and our servers, but it is highly unlikely we would ever make a change to the AoE limits on player skills.

2. That’s not what I meant. Compare the abilities to do aoe damage between the different classes.

While I would appreciate better loot I would still complain because those aren´t the changes they promised us.
Fixing things like the party issues or skill lag and adding new content doesn´t exclude each other. Especially since different people work on them.

In February there was promised big WvW update. 6 months later, where is it? Was it canceled?

That would have been the removal of culling and the addition of world ranks and wxp I believe.

For the lag:

We are making strides to improve the skill lag, but it is a very large and very difficult problem to solve. We can’t do more than take little chips off of it at a time and eventually those should add up to sizable differences, but each little change isn’t going to make a major impact in and of itself.

An AC on the supply hut would not be able to reach the front of the gate where the ram and yak were as well as their ac.

The yak I could hit without problems. It is also possible to use the gap as defender.

Shooting trough the gap above the gate with an ac is no hack and no bug. It doesn´t even require special resolutions or a big monitor.
If the devs don´t do anything about it it might be that they see it as a legitimate strategy.
An ac on the supply hut would have been safe I think.

That is totally out of my area. I realize it occurs in WvW, but it is related to the tech we use for parties, etc. While I’ll look into it, I can’t say as I have any ability to fix it.

@sycric: healing signet is not affected by poison. only regeneration boon from banner and shout healing is. warriors passive regen without boons cant be stopped with poison, but you can shut down the healing signet with hard CC.

I just tested it and healing signet is affected by poison. In the Gendarran Fields I had first 69 hps and after I was poisoned only 47 hps.

They are ground-targeting but not ground-based like those other skills.
The only part of Combustive Shot that is similar to the other skills is the fire field and that damage can´t be blocked.

They have already done that.

The culling settings are universal between WvW and PvE, unfortunately they were inadvertently not re-labeled for this update.

The settings to change your culling are labeled as “WvW Character Limit” and “WvW Character Quality”.

Sorry for the confusion. We’ve made the appropriate teams aware of this.
