Problem: No matter what, I can’t change the dye of a part of the Heavy Nightmare Armor. A large portion of the armor remains a white/grayish color no matter what colors you dye it. I’m a sylvari and my character’s color is icey so i think that may be part of the problem. This guardian norn standing next to me does not have this problem and is able to fully dye his Nightmare helmet any way he likes.
See attached:
Also, please don’t write this off as a non-issue. This dye problem really bothers me especially since I’ve been wanting this armor set for months. Thanks.
Edit: Furthermore, you know how the helmet has 3 dye boxes? One that is a large rectangle and 2 smaller squares underneath it? Well, when I dye the large rectangle one, a certain part of the helmet changes color but when the guardian norn dyes the large rectangle one, a different part of the helmet’s color changes. This is also part of the problem because for the norn, the rectangle box controls the shading around the eyes, which is the problem area for my sylvari where i cannot change that color. thanks.

balanced stance is silly. it’s a stance, yet it’s only function is to apply an 8 sec stability on activation. you’d expect 1s stability ticks 8 times but whatever
Some builds are just not designed to 1v1. Half of the roaming videos out there show roamers with optimised duelling builds fighting players with full zerg builds, designed for party support and siege tactics.
Why are the players geared up to be a zergling even fighting a 1v1? While I’m roaming I often see super-tanky boon zerg guardians or staff elementalists running around solo. What am I supposed to do? Let the person run off?
I solo roam on a warrior. Greatsword and sword/shield gives me mobility that can rival a thief, without the QQ for being a thief.
Sitting at the top of your tower while enemies destroy your home? Tired of having your tower destroyed, your friends murdered, and then your land stolen by savages? Are you a warrior? If yes, then do I have a solution for you!
For 1 small payment of 10 trait points in the power line, you can rain death upon your foes at the bottom of a tower over and over again with “Death From Above”!
Costumer testimony: I was getting tired of being mercilessly slaughtered and losing my land. I couldn’t do anything except for flinging useless arrows at the enemy. That was until, of course, I discovered this trait! Even though I can’t hold a tower against 10-15 players on my own, I can greatly disturb the enemy’s advancements while dealing 6k damage to each enemy! How wonderful!
Instructions:
1. Jump off of the tower onto unsuspecting enemies. Bonus points if you hit enemies operating siege equipment such as battering rams!
2. Watch the numbers and the enemies fly!
3. Run like a bunny back into the portal. *
4. Wash, Rinse, And Repeat
*Note: After about 5 or 6 attacks, the enemy will be expecting your deadly descent. However, fret not! Bringing plenty of stability, invulnerabilty, condition clearing, and mobility will ensure your survival!
(I would include screenshots but I cannot find that folder).
This is hands down the best way to counter backstabs. Osicat demonstrates it amazingly. Well worth a watch. In short, he dodges before eating a backstab which forces the thief to hit your clone.
Where does it say that all classes will eventually get all weapons? I know Colin said that new weapons will eventually be added but I’ve never read that all classes will get all weapons.

I play a warrior.
well… i guess you just ended the thread
The stun spamming build is nothing more than a crutch for the class and unskilled warriors. Calling it "counterplay"is not only incorrect but also an insult.
Phase retreat/dodge around/ strafe around/ keep spinning so they can’t effictively get your back.
So with the announcement of new unlockable skills and traits and the possibility of future brand new weapons, I would like to make a request. I ask for more melee options for the mesmer. As it is, mesmers have only 3 melee skills (SW 1, SW2, SW4) in our whole entire arsenal despite being the battle-mage class.
Not only that, but our melee combat is extremely gimmicky! The only way to do decent damage with Blurred Frenzy is by immobilizing our target! Don’t get me wrong- BF is amazing, however no other class has to play in such a gimmicky and annoying way just to deal some melee damage!
When I rolled Mesmer it was the first class I enjoyed enough to reach 80. However, I was a bit disappointed with the class because it has the least amount of melee options of ALL of the classes! Even Rangers have more melee combat than we do! Being forced to be mostly a medium-long distance fighter can be incredibly dull for some and this is the reason why I rolled a warrior and brought him to 80.
So for the sake of diversity and staying true to the class, please give us some more melee options.
Thank you. Please post ideas for melee skills or weapons and give feedback!
No!!! My whole account would be obliterated if, by accident, I destroyed my green helmet! It has a minor sigil of grawl slaying don’tcha know!
Definitely could be very fun.
obviously rush. i love using rush to surprise the foe by running 200 units toward my enemy, 600 units backward, and then 400 units toward my enemy! It never connects but that’s okay because my opponent is flabbergasted and has no choice but to die at the hands of my backup thief/ele/mesmer
I guess you could say
he … defekted
Mines are underratted. Look into them. Make sure to pick up the proper traits in explosions otherwise they’re crap (specifically the blast radius one)
Mine field is some serious burst and you can detonate the mines the very instant they go out making it fairly reliable.
Don’t try the maximum eviscerate build unless all you care about is seeing a high eviscerate.
This trait is a tier 2 trait in the tactic tree and it reduces the CD of shouts by 20%. The problem with this is that if you are running a shout supporty build, then you use the tier 3 trait for healing shouts and the tier 2 slot for the warhorn trait because the warhorn trait easily outclasses Lung Capacity, thus making Lung capacity pretty much useless. Either move it to tier 1 or merge it with another trait. Dare I say merge it with healing shouts? Maybe…
In the bolded letters you describe all of the neat things that other classes to help their sustain but you pretend like warriors don’t have an advantage like the others do. Warriors are the only class to have maximum base HP AND base armor. Just throwing that out there. I think its really silly how often people forget that fact considering how important it is.
Have you even played PvP
Highest Armor and HP mean absolutely nothing compared to the damage negation other classes can put out.
I don’t care what kind of ridiculous hyperboles you use. The bottom line is that we DO have the highest base hp and armor and it DOES matter. People need to remember this. I’m not saying it can effectively rival sustain of other classes but I’m saying that we need to remember that it is there.
I’d rather have cloth armor and 10k hp, and buffs that makes me take 75% less damage.
High Armor doesn’t matter in this game, it makes little difference actually.
How do you expect people to take you seriously? You constantly demand balance here and there and demand anet to rain buffs on the warrior because “balance” when you don’t even understand the difference between light and heavy armor. Not only that but you seem to think there exists a buff that makes you take 75% less damage. Are you daft?
I like how you took that seriously when I was pretty much exaggerating.
The difference between light/heavy armor is about 300 toughness, a piece of soldiers gear. Not that much at all.
Please show me the piece of armor that has 300 toughness on it. Go ahead. Honestly at this point (actually a while ago) it is clear that you are a troll seeking attention so goodbye.
The 80 Exotic Chestplate alone has 363 armor (toughness.)
Toughness and Armor are the exact same stat.
The difference in armor for Light/Heavy is (49)!
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mad_King%27s_Overcoat#HeavyYou can check the statistics here.
Now please stop posting, you have no idea how the game works and your embarassing yourself.
You said 300 toughness is a soldier’s piece, not 300 armor. That’s like saying “my warrior has 3000 power” when you really mean 3000 attack.

So i put on a PVT amulet and ran this build in sPvP but with a sigil of intelligence (which guarantees a crit on every eviscerate as long as you switch weapon from gs to axe then unleash) on the axe and I had interesting results. The best I got in about 10 minutes of playing was a 13.3k eviscerate on a mesmer. I had 1560 toughness and 1660 vitality. And this was in sPvP. Idk what to think of it. Obviously it’s not really a “build” but I just found it kinda neat. Evidence below:

idk… personally i’d rather see balancing done in other ways
You know… I don’t instantly fall into the fetal position and cringe whenever I see a necro anymore. It’s quite nice.
why are you using zerker power if the goal is to dump all your adren on evis as soon as you get it? also no stab and hardly any condi removal seems awfull
while its cool to see big evis numbers when you can land it on full zerker light/med targets that are bad im pretty sure you can beat bads with any setup
He uses BP because the 15% damage boost counts toward your eviscerate also
Not trying to hate, that is the nature of a full zerk warrior and that is how they need to play to survive. But I personally find it boring to play or watch because it is the build that does the work. A 5 second fight doesn’t teach much in the ways of timing dodges, gauging enemy cooldowns, comboing, knowing when to use certain skills as much as a 2 or 3 minute fight does, or as much as a build that isn’t a two-trick pony.
On the contrary I find super defensive fights to be extremely boring and low skilled in general. 2 defensive specs fighting have an incredible amount of room for error. Mistakes mean little when you can sit there with enough defense to tank multiple enemies and when you have 3 stun breaks, unlimited protection and retaliation, etc.
*EDIT:
In reality there is no proper way to 1v1. Defensive 1v1 fights gauge a different set of PvP skills than Offensive 1v1 fights do. For example, defensive fights gauge the ability to be aware of cooldowns and planning ahead, while offensive fights gauge the ability to react quickly under extremely heavy pressure. Saying that glassy builds take no skill and that defensive builds do is a silly statement as they are 2 completely different ways to play.

They have to be careful with changing the burst. If they make it too good, then the already supreme greatsword would be impossible to not take.
Seriously nerfing every single kitten and no good utility for warrior plummering us to the bottomless pithole of uselessness…
Let’s not get crazy here… calm down.
Skill 1: DPS nerfed. It is near impossible to get off a full chain anywhere outside of PvE so DPS is considerably lower.
Skill 2: No changes to it but this is such a lackluster skill. 4 stacks of vulnerability and tickle damage.
Skill 3: No changes to it but this is also mediocre. Throw an axe to deal a cripple and tickle damage. Whoop de doo!
All of this on top of the HF and BP nerf mean axe damage is pitiful. I’m confused as to why the warrior community isn’t speaking up about this enough when you see Thieves cry about getting a second added to revealed or when you see Mesmers complain when they get a .25 Global Cool Down on their shatters.
The only thing the axe skill 1 nerf did was force PvP and WvW warriors into less diverse builds and did practically nothing to PvE. I fail to undertsand the point of the update. If you were going to destroy Skill 1 then why not give us buffs in the other skills to compensate. Now we just have 3 unrelated, boring, and sub-par skills.
Now to top it all off: The sword got a skill that does the same damage as eviscerate under the proper circumstances.
I think the reason this is because imagine if you are like 800 units above your enemy. If you were able to place the AoE reticule on the enemy and hit him from above, you would be traveling 800 distance and landing the hit rather than the proper 600 units. Honestly the game would be sooo much better if attacks like earthshaker could hit targets below you but don’t get your hopes up
Maybe it’s perspective. I certainly wanted to play my ele because I like the fact that it is a class that relies on synergy on multiple ability combinations rather than hitting 2,2,2,2,2,2,2 stealth, 2,2,2,2,2 like a thief. Definitely not bored playing an ele. Just get frustrated with the little reward you get from playing it well.
I really think you are just a terrible player which explains why you even mention HS spam and it also explains why you get little reward. Because you don’t play it well. Also I’ve noticed that a lot of elementalists (not all but a nice chunk) seem to think in their minds that they are superior to all other players because they have to click more buttons. Kinda funny really.
Axe skill 1 chain was destroyed.
Sorry but we all have to deal with the bs that is retaliation.
Good idea but I think it is a little lacking. Here is my version:
This trait improves the stances significantly.
Makes stances passive at all times. This means permanent stability, quickness, and endure pain. Activate a stance to gain a special effect. For example: Activate Endure Pain in order to give invulnerability to your whole team for 60 seconds.
I thought this might help warriors a little bit with our sustainability problem. Whenever I run full berserker and offhand axe I tend to not live forever killing everything so I feel like we should change that to fix the class.
So…perma endure pain+berserker stance? Well why not..hello godmode xD
Yup. It will help our sustainability which should be Anet’s number one goal.
Blind-Hate-Hate: Damage increased by 50% against warriors using Blind-Hate.
Blind-Hate-Hate-Hate: Damage increased by 50% against players using Blind-Hate-Hate.
This way warriors can have that sustainability we were promised! XD amiriteguys?
what does meta mean?
and did you used to play runescape? ammy…

I think this class is great.
this guy is a joke
Bring melandru runes or -condi food and pop berserkers stance when you are ready to do a game changing skill like earthshaker. -%165 condition duration will make you nearly invincible to blind. Only very heavy condition builds will be able to blind you and since thieves are the biggest blind spammers but none of them bring enough condi duration you should be in good shape.
berserker stance has too high a cd? well if i recall correctly you can trait to have it activate when you gain 5 stacks of might. so activating SoR will give you berserker’s stance also. also you can trait to have stances last longer.
lets not forget that berserker stance also sticks you adrenaline so its not like we are doing all of this just for blind spammers
you can bait the thief to come out then burst him. For example, if a thief is stealthed and he doesn’t need to heal/run away, then I know he will be going for a backstab. Here you can bait his backstab and then go for a quick stun with shield bash or things of the like then burst him. Shield bash + eviscerate is a deadly and quick combo that is very difficult to avoid if you are using it to counter a thief coming out of stealth.
if you let the thief dance all around you then he will stomp you. you gotta bait and burst. trying to pin down a thief for long periods of time is silly IMO. so bolas is a no-no.
also i think you are really just scared of thieves so you make up stories of how super powerful they are. thieves do not heal to full every time they go into stealth. if they do, then their backstabs are like tickles.
edit: oops neglected to read. sorrry
Detonating Mine Field puts the skill on a 20 second CD regardless of whether or not one has any CD reduction for toolkit skills.
In this thread there are people who think class balance is important to WvW. LOL
You do know that out of every PvP player in this game, most play WvW? Class balance is important in WvW. LOL
In pvp we pay the iron price. We dont care about looking pretty, we care about the competition. I like thakittens hard to get, that means people that have the higher rank skins have either a) been winning alot of tourneys b) been grinding hotjoins, and if you got your armor through option b) then youre just making a rank 20 happy because he beat a rank 50. If youre playing this game to look pretty, go to pve and grind for months to get a unicorn shooting bow.
Wow who woulda guessed that your opinion is literally every pvper’s opinion also. There’s nothing wrong with making your character suited to your tastes and there isn’t anything wrong with a little sense of progression along the side.
They made it ridonculously difficult to rank in PvP because they hoped they would attract 24/7 gamers ready to train for eSport Guild Wars 2 while being broadcasted all over the world. Their dreams of eSport is the reason high rank in sPvP is so hard to achieve.
