You are wrong, JQ controls it’s own destiny. 7 weeks of JQ/BG/SoR would have shown JQ’s true strength. As it stands you are guaranteed 1st in at least 4 out of 7 weeks.

Translation: 3 out of the 7 matches, you can manipulate the outcome by 2v1 JQ, whatever rank you get, will only be handed to you by which server carries you lol.

7 weeks of 2v1 because BG and SoR cannot hold their own against us would show our true strength? So what’s the excuse going to be finals week? JQ is too close to winning so 2v1 time? /laugh silly me, I forgot, we’re all going to be close to winning! (but BG won’t know that)

SoR BL was fun tonight. I especially enjoyed the 5 trebs at Stargrove punching a hole in Hills, and then the JQ push through the hole ending exactly how you would expect it to.

TC has a large enough population to affect the outcome. SoS and Maguuma don’t.

I don’t really see it being that much of a problem. TC has lost a lot of guilds, today I heard they lost a NA guild to SoS, though I don’t know how accurate that is so I’m not naming the guild.

In the past we have seen that matchup, and while TC is no threat to win, they can put pressure on at specific times. [EP] is really good when they are on the map. Whether that has changed or not remains to be seen, but looking at the 4-6 score right now, it appears to still be the case.

Maguuma or SoS (no offense to either server, you don’t have the coverage) would at this point most likely represent the closest approximation to a 1v1. For instance week 5 will probably give the best indication of how BG stacks up 1v1 against JQ.

I honestly don’t know. I have a feeling JQ and SoR are right there with each other. Wish we had a 1v1 this to find out, sadly ANet didn’t oblige at all during this league.

As of yesterday, as I went to every map I saw that we JQ were not attacking BG and only focussing SoR. I asked every commander and they all said the same thing, we aren’t attacking BG, we are attacking SoR only.

Amazingly, somehow BG seemed to be doing the same thing. Guess they were playing both sides and it was time to put that knife in the back of SoR.

However, it’s also preferable if JQ takes 3rd, and with a match this close, anything can happen and the focus could shift again.

Bottom line, go with the flow and don’t get all bent about it.

I think I finally found a build that works for me in PvP. Since last night was an off night in WvW I spent some time tweaking a bit. Stun lockers are now survivable for me. Unfortunately this build is a bit susceptible to Necros and Theives, but I can at least reset against them. Did a couple of point defenses 1v3 and held my own.

I’m talking about running in PvP and running in to a group (2 or more) running a stun lock meta. Then there are the cases where you are in combat 1v1 and a stun lock meta comes up behind you and joins in.

You can carry 2 elixirs that are stun breakers, and one that’s a useless invulnerability. I consider elixir U a useless stun break since it also gives you frenzy. If throw elixir U were a line of warding, it might have some value.

This is not a problem at all in WvW, but in sPvP it’s a joke.

Edit: Another improvement would be to bring back access to the toolbelt or utilities while Elixir S is on (e.g. Pop Elixir s, throw Elixir S, reset).

Personally, yes I’m always disappointed when I get ROFL stomped 1v2.

Maybe I’ve gotten worse as a player, maybe our class has been nerfed into balance, maybe Warriors have been buffed too much, maybe other players skill has gone up considerably. All I know is I’m running in to more fights now than I ever have where my only recourse is to lie there and take it until the respawn timer comes up. (PvP)

I don’t play a lot of PvP though so maybe I just need time to adjust to the meta of the day.

I never see these issues in WvW though.

FA will probably have a bigger impact than anything SoR can do. Frankly, I don’t care who it is as long as they come out and fight (finger pointed at you [TE]. get out of the invul spots).

What is funny, is he has already proclaimed that they have won, but yet, they dropped back to 3rd place again.

Also, with Core transferring to FA, that last spot in gold league has just become more exciting again. FA is tearing up Mag and CD now. So, Mag might lose that spot and it might go to FA or us.

Highly unlikely SoS loses 20 rating points in a day and a half.

They can chain way more CC than we have stun breaks, especially if you are running full elixirs.

I’m not saying it’s not possible to resist it for a while on a bunker build, but if they manage to get the jump on you, or you run out of defense, forget about it. You can’t throw Elixir B or S if you are constantly launched, stunned, or knocked down.

As enticing as the changes to bombs are, I think I’ll be trying HGH again. The Elixir S and B changes are going to provide a lot of utility, especially in PvP.

I thought so too, but nope. Warrior/Guardian stun lock FTW.

I was really hopeful these changes would allow me to go full elixir in WvW. I was wrong and will continue to run a hybrid build.

Did some quick math. The JQ/TC/BG match has accumulated ~29,000 more points than our matchup. While there are some other minor factors, most of that probably comes from stomping (lets be generous and say 1/3 is from Yaks and Sentries).

I know myself and many others are having much more fun losing to SoR/TC etc than winning vs BP/CD etc and are pushing very hard to get into Gold League

SoS seems like a lock for gold at this point. You are 18 points ahead of Maguuma for 5th. SBI has a much tougher road. They need FA and CD to pick it up, or they need to push us a bit harder (or both). They are 3 points behind Maguuma for 6th.

We just need to beat SoS by atleast 5k points, and we should make it into gold. We really need to utilize the nights this week to take commanding leads on SoS, so that their oceanic can’t overtake us.

That’s really not the case though. Much of your fate depends on how much rating Maguuma loses (or gains).

We got any statistical gurus here? Because this relates to something I’ve been thinking about. Am I correct in the following?

If SBI wants to get into the Gold League they need to gain as much rating as possible. The only way to gain rating is to take it from the other servers in the match right?

SoS and SBI are close in rating. SoR has a much higher rating than both. Therefore SoR has the most rating to “give up” – yes?

For SBI, that means that each asset (camp, tower, keep) taken away from SoR is worth a larger rating gain than the same asset taken away from SoS.

So if SBI wants to gain rating, they need to take assets from SoR and not SoS.

If SBI pick up another 4-5K on SoS it might be enough, but it also depends on what happens in the Maguuma match. If FA stops showing up it may not matter.
