How did you get such a high crit chance? Is it just being in all exotics? I’m currently in exotic gear, but not accessories (blues and greens still).

That is not WvW stats, it’s pvp, I use the one that gives +756 or what it is in precision

What I mean is, if you get a flame AoE, can you get lightning one sec after or you still have 5 sec of CD for lightning?

@osicat, been playing around a little with your build in pvp, I tried different builds, where I focused a more “tanky” and a more high burst damage, turned out that the tanky was way to weak in damage, so I decided to take the high burst, killing every class in training with more than 50%hp, also changed the sigils to a bit more offensive when playing vs 2 or 3 people

sigil – - – - -Weapon
superior fire – Sword – this makes me deal a bit more AoE when using sword
superior blood – Pistol – can steal health, so can turn the tide if you screwed it up
superior air – Staff – cause a lightning strike, powerful in 1v2 or 1v3, where you can increase damage on the targeted foe.

will play around a bit to see if there’s any other fun combines

Wasn’t aware of the bug before I had completed map 100%, gameplay in WvW, is not that bad, but when you get downed things start to change, die almost instantly due to they can attack the real player at once, only enemies that are new (new players), will get tricked when downed

Best feeling ever is when you feel you not only controll the fight but your enemy aswell. Cheers, get a vid sometime mate if you can

For simple spvp I can talk from experience its wery fun to play the spec thu, not
the same burst but still wery good. Its not a spec who like in wvwvw easy juke burst down a tank but its not impossible. You will run nto some hard countera thu, tank condition necros is a avoid note on. Unicorn thiefs will cause you problems but you can kill them unless they wery skilled.

This is where you need to control the battle, lie one step ahead, so they make the mistakes, and one mistake from you will lead to death. If you are lucky you will survive with 10-0* hp, and then you are LUCKY

Finally learning how everything works out, killing enemy after enemy, dancin around with 300-1k hp left, just killing anything, well notices the HP after the battle is over, sometimes I actually see I have 100-200(in battle), and I can’t escape so I have to give all I have to come with. Seems I play bad some days and very good others, but mostly killing any one when having low hitpoints, probably they think I would die and fail. But it’s vice versa

And when I finally learned to use portal correctly, so much confusion you can do. I mean by that teleport between them and attack once, then teleport so opponent misses

What I do is not think at all, just knowing how to face the enemy, like see how they move, place chaos storm, at correct place, they run in to field, dealing damage, when it’s almost over, they understand they walked the wrong way

couple of mins ago defeated due to to this star pointing out who the real player is. He started with the clone then saw me with star, he changed target before finishing clone and killed me…
would have a chance to kill/down him if he was killing my clone, this much time is necessary for me to be able to kill that guy, but now he walked away with no problems

And I haven’t said anything about removing star.

fix this issue, it’s a huge problem, it’s like you get no clone for this ability aswell… (downed skill2) cause they still knows who to kill in order to kill me…

You’ll still have a huge red arrow on top of you when downed and anyone worth their salt won’t be tricked by Deception.

clones does also get this red arrow

Can they fix that clones have 100% map complete so I have a chance when downed…

Mesmer is not OP, if you fail with one timing in a 1v2, may happen in 1v1 aswell, you die almost instantly, but however if your timings are correct you can crush anything, well not a 1v5 and up

Mesmer is not even that strong 1v1, it only happens when bad players get confused by the illusions.

It’s actually incredibly hard to keep any competent melee class off of you, people are realizing now it’s quite easy to keep track of the real Mesmer and just beat their face in, especially Thieves with their myriad stuns, snares and roots. It is because of this that glass cannon shatter builds are essential for Mesmers, you will never kill melee in your face unless you counter their damage with even more of your own.

Of course I have been involved in the humiliating butt kicking of up to 3 enemies before, but they’re always bad puggers. Against good players you should struggle in most 1 on 1s and a 1v2 should be unwinnable. Anything else that happens is the result of playing against bad people and has nothing to do with the Mesmer itself. Those same people would probably have lost to me if I was any other class.

I used to always think of Warrior as an easy kill, until I started going against Warrior players that competently busted out shield stance with good timing and would counter an entire shatter. Stuff like that is what you see with good players, whereas a bad Warrior would just keep trying to Hblades you and probably forget he has a second weapon to swap to.

If people just played at higher levels more often, they’d see this game is incredibly balanced.

Sorry but your wrong, I had 2 fully gear Warriors on me.

In WvW, one in Arah and one in CoF gear.

I am no where near a high damage mez(I am a tank)

I crush them both no problem, hp did not even get below half.

Why all their major skill I saw comming and use 2 on sword are f4(only shatter skill I use)

Also keep defender/warden out and right next to me, made it where they could not go long rang and had to stay up close are over 70% of their attacks would be reflex.

So force them into melee and then out melee them with no clones/invisble.

Warden 3k/bf 2k/1 500/500/800…….get my point not exactly high damage and yet I can take out multy people with no prob.
1v2 I never die, and i got a build like no one else will ever use.

Just because someone has gear doesnt mean they are skilled with their class..
Especially since in this game
Skill > gear.

Think you’re right there, I have staff lvl78 exotic, my pistol and sword are lvl80 rare, so if you are playing skillfully as I do sometimes you can beat any one, it’s not the gear that is making the kill, it’s the skill I would say. And you can not just attack if you vs a thief… you need to stun them all the time else they cloak and deal tons of damage to you, or escape, cause they know you will crush them. There’s a counter to every class, but some are harder to crush easily. I have failed a lot, but you have to fail and learn to be able to kill them next time. And think what you made wrong, this can make you win vs the next player.

And EsLafiel, if you missclick… what happens then?

Did you play lost shores event?, If you did, and haven’t got it, I think it’s a matter of time before you get it. And you are not supposed to message anyone.

Never happen to me, but you can try make a -repair in your gw2.exe, to see if there’s any problems.

how much difference makes 2100 armor compared to 1861. When taking damage from enemies?

Seeing your gear makes me think, did I select the right gear etc. I found my gear settings, but not complete due to lack of cash

Tip: Don’t complete map 100%, cause your illusions don’t get the star reward, next to character or did they patch it?

I played GS/Staff til lvl 80, then changed to Sword/pistol n’ Staff, from my experience it’s easier to run GS/Staff in beginning and maybe around lvl40-60 start change your build to something you would like to try out, but be careful if you change to melee, cause now you may take more damage than usual, can result to a lot of times dying cause of your inexperience with that new build, happen to me when suddenly changing to sword/pistol n’ staff → dying to everything.

But now I can easily take 1v1, and 1v2 sometimes, depends on enemy class, also making a lot of “suicide runs” but I will still live, where I portal and then escape using portal and then portal back and do even more damage, while risking my life, 6/10 times I die, but get rezzed cause I do enough damage so the rest can AoE the kitten out of them, may cost a little repairs, but when capping places in WvW makes it worth the effort.

Is MW damage nerfed?

Today has been an absolute joke. My MWs are hitting for 800-1000.

Don’t believe so, I do around 2.5-3-5k, when I play my style with shattering, also I have +77% critical damage, but only 38/39% to crit, depends on WvW points etc. I run without food, and I haven’t upgraded to superior and only run rare sword/pistol, but I usually have no problem facing 1v1, or 1v2, only today with an engineer.

Hopefully I can get superior runes soon, so I can do more damage, will be intresting, only have a little gold, reason why I run with rare sword/pistol, is that they cost so much now, hopefully I will get some great exotic loot, soon when I return to play PvE events in cursed shore, very busy with school tests and WvW, crushing the enemy 350k points xD compared to 150k and 110k

From what I’ve read, mesmer is the hardest class to play. But I will say it’s easy, but hard to master, once you mastered it you can take on 1v3/1v4, even 1v5 if you have the skills, but as I said hard to master, but fun as hell to play

Use a treb against it? not that i credit such tactic in the first place.
As well as, you are accusing an entire server for the activities of a group or individual, i too deplore using such tactics but you make it sound like were trying to win with every possible means including cheating which i find greatly insulting.

Whiteside Ridge is already dwindling in numbers and we are trying to do as much as we can even though our chance of turning the tide are small-to-near impossible, we don’t need our whole server getting discredited like this so that people think were a whole bunch of cheaters and deter them from thinking about joining us.

Same a hour ago, they did the same with treb, but now they had 2 treb, 3 ballitsa, also 2 golems, waiting there, lucky we were able to kill their siege

@Osicat, you say that the player are not supposed to stomp thief’s.
To their downed skills, or you just cautious?

I say you can stomp them, just make sure of the following:

1. you know what you are doing
2. you have quickness buff

im around 102% crit dmg and 53% crit chance

that’s why you kill everyone :P, I guess you have that amount by using food items, right?, then what kind of food?, if that’s not a secret :P

EDIT, found out that with Illusionary Leap, teleport to enemy, then exactly when at them , making mirror images, and when you have 3 clones next to enemy, you shatter(1) them, grants you quickness it seems, very good if you use sword skill 2 after, means you will make that attack in one sec, making alot of damage instantly :O

EDIT2, still do alot of missclicks, but I like my build my way, but as I said Im not done with my build, as I don’t have the runes I wan’t, and I haven’t got the chance to make a 1v2, or 1v3, cause it seems that all people on my server, and enemy server zerg’s, but I was able to kill a stupid engineer 3 times, before he understood, mesmer is strong in 1v1

Question after that, about combo fields, seem to know how to use them, I was able to get 18 stacks of confusion, with practise, calculated that a thief would about die if he was going to do any counter with that amount of confusion on him, 3,3k confusion damage (18 stacks), if he has around 14k hp

Watched you newest vid, so much skills, wish I was that good, but I have to learn to use my portal ability’s more, and have to learn each skill’s CD, in order to maximize damage, but I wonder what’s your damage with Blurred Frenzy, when at last strike?, i got mine to around 2,5k, doing something wrong or what, I used PvP gear when tested, 5*mesmer rune, and one other so I get +25 power, and I have 23.5k hp, too much?, or you choose your own?, and my critical is 54%, and +35% critical damage, can you get even higher?

Looks like your build, but have changed the runes, don’t know about the amulet have made similar build in PvE, WvW, but haven’t bought any runes yet, not enough coins also running on a different sigil build, and I have around 17.8k hp, then I get buffed more and more as we get points in WvW, so now I have around 19k hp.

Also vs a thief that basically had perma cloak, almost, was impossible to kill due to that I was unable to get any stuns on him, etc. But it felt like that almost perma cloak thief is impossible for mesmer, any tips? he had a dual pistol build, so that’s may be why it was hard to kill him, experimenting with some other runes and sigils, to find my kind of build based on yours

EDIT: will try superior rune of the falk, and with berserkers amu, giving me 18k, and around 53% critical damage, also 59% critical chanse

Tried your build, works awesome, now I can kick enemy’s kitten but I believe I have much to learn, but I can say that my gameplay has improved alot, also I think I die a little more, but this is due to my lack of skills, but now I can confuse enemy and let them waist their CD’s. Awesome build

Came up with another random idea, how about other finisher-flags, for PvP, and WvW, would be nice, like, guild finisher, that displays your guild emblem etc, also custom design would be nice, but that’s another question

edit, knows that there are other pvp, finisher, but I mean custom models, for finisher, it would add so that people can have different finishers

suggestion that you can have maybe 2 or 3 titles, maybe need to buy so you can show more of them

I can play normal… almost, when I seem to change map, does not matter which one, if I’m lucky the game will not crash. I think the chances for not getting a crash is around 1/5 times.

also in the “error log”, it says that it get an “fatal disk error (64)”, have googled it but nothing, also saying something that it can’t read local.dat, but I know it can, cause I’ve moved the old one to a TMP-folder, and it created a new one, and also then when trying to change map, I got a crash

most annoying thing is that I ran GW2.exe, with -repair command, also when it had verified the files, what happen… crash

Got another bug that says that , the order couldn’t be placed, also discovered that the order is actually placed, and therefore you may place more than one order, and it may cost you some money, lost around 30 silver cause I thought I never got my order placed, and it was like “stacking up”, and then I got a bit disappointed, as I get twice as much as I ordered, In this case this wasn’t a big deal for me, cause I will craft with it so, but please fix this as soon as possible

Also only seem to happen to some of the items in the TP, for me it was Steel ingot, and seasoned wood log, and unidentified dye, there may be more items that is bugged like this
