I am kind of wondering if Sigil of Accuracy is better than Sigil of Force.

Depends on your K/D ratio I’d say, cause if you die alot, you never gain benefit from sigil of accuracy, therefore sigil of force is better, but you can have a weapon with accuracy, and then swap to force so you gain +250 precision, and then gain another +5% with force

No, I killed him in a couple of seconds, but he was not lvl80 so it was a unfair fight.

Also defending a camp from 5 invaders while waiting for backup, did it fine

Good point about the ledges. That is probably how it functions. Wonder why we can’t get a real teleport? Probably to make clipping issues easy to manage.

The skill is nice, but some damage with it would be great. Elem/Thief/Guard all get damage with their teles iirc.

watched your first kill vs the guardian in your new hybrid spec several times, I finally see what you do, 15+vurnl and 4*MW = instant dead xD, have something to learn there

EDIT, if you have 9 might, and then shatter again

• clone 1 shatter with normal damage + 9 might
• clone 2 shatter with normal damage +12 might
• clone 3 shatter with normal damage +15 might, then when shattered apply another 3 stack of might

You can use blink to intercept enemies that are out of range, and also chase them if they are up on a ledge, not to elevated, but I give a screen on that you can blink up ledges.

First before blink, second after blink, if you don’t trust me you can try it yourself.

From what I’ve seen when the skill bugs out and doesn’t make your character vanish, it appears that blink functions by making your char invisible and having your char run really fast to the destination. That’s what it seems like anyway.

Think that’s how they made blink, char is always there, and you can see it actually, like blurry when trying to blink up a ledge, you can see the motion blur.

Also blink work down ledges and not up ledges, sometimes up small raises in terrain but that’s all.

Moa is making opponents weaker, cause moa have low attack, and almost no armor, none if I’m not wrong.

I changed pistol to sword, like osicat in the vid, LOL, killing thief’s easier than easy xD

But I think I will try this out afterwards but I only need to get my current gold up, wan’t to try something else. Gets boring after a while, you need to try something else, that’s why I just changed my mind

@Osicat, your shatter is so much fun, only need to l2p, then you do it all fine

I see, my current is 82%, so I will need to rethink this :/, cause close range shatter is like mostly reliable on high burst damage. So I guess this won’t work, may be worth to try in spvp or similar.

yeah, guessed that, seems like a nice build, but I don’t wan’t to waste another ehm couple of gold to change weapon, armor etc. so I stay with my recent build, or may change my armor to your set, cause I like combine and experiment with different builds, also I like the way you can shatter enemy down almost instantly, and my current gear is very low in toughness.

EDIT, what is your critical damage?

Is it possible to change the GS to sword/pistol?

I find it easy to rust run around to waste their stealth, but also be very focused to make a dodge if I see I take any damage, also I cast chaos storm, if I find it able to use. Also confusions is the way I deal with thief’s seem to always work.

Better sPvP practice area:

1. choose opponent class and build: example, glass thief, tank guardian, condition mesmer etc.
2. practice in sPvP maps, so you can train using terrain, and such things
3. option to practice vs players and not NPCs.

Thinking about changing build to a 100% shattertank, with knights gear, but I am not sure about that, and before I change I will make calculations and see what kind of stats I get, armor crit chance and damage, also the crit damage.

But that’ll be tomorrow.

And I can’t use the sites where you can try builds cause that’s only for spvp, and not for WvW :/

EDIT: any tips vs D/D ele?, cause I seem to lose to them all time :/

I don’t think so, cause 6*divinity gives +12% critical damage, and +60 to all stats, not much in my opinion, and rune of air, gives +10%crit damage, swiftness when you heal, and 30% chance to create lightning when hit, and with some vigor and fury, you can get ~4k crit damage with lightning, also swiftness last longer if I’m not wrong

WvW, sometiemes spvp, trying builds, learn how to become better, dungeons sometimes, depend’s if I want to or not, but for me mostly WvW, I like to run in small groups, cause then it’s usually not spam AoE spells all over the place.
Die when you know you just made a epic fail move, also get a laugh out of it sometimes, cause you learn by it

Thank’s for the answer, but I was thinking I want my condition damage, and see what I can do, I will probably change the Valkyre trinkets to knights or similar, so I get my armor up, and I have my condition damage to kill glass thief’s easily when they cloak etc. and you drop chaosfield. and shatter#2 with 3+self in the nearby, making them down themself.

@Osicat, know that 9 might is good, but when you shatter#3, for 3 sec I thought so, but I still have no problem with that, killed one guardian in practice (several times) with me losing a total of 0 hp, when I successfully time everything right, also running around like crazy, confusing it looks like, and bet it is. yes, but I am wrong with saying it’s useless cause so many allies I have saved with it.

Got a stupid question for so experienced that I am, but shatter#3, daze, does it only give one second for 3+self shatter, cause then it’s pretty useless, if you have 3 clones up.

the enemy warrior has vengeance and it runs out of time, makes Osicat take the kill, therefor rally, if I’m not wrong, and or they kill some NPC also makes anyone that has attacked it to rally

Had a major epic fights today, enemy capturing one of our towers, we was able to have one mesmer inside, portaling us up, and then more made portal etc. We took tower without taking down any gates or walls. That was nice, also we took SM after around 3-4h of siege. But as we always lack people we lost it :/, but the main thing is we had fun.

And trying to hide in a enemy keep was working but now they search it and find me, kill one of them, but then ended up dead cause the whole enemy zerg knew my location.

About your good play how can you like always take them, and why do you never vs a zerg. or do you just know how to keep distance away from them?

you can mix it with some zerker or valkyre, to buff you damage output, or armor, if needed. if you feel too squishy etc. I run a mix of condition and shatter. with pretty high condition damage, but low due to my focus is still more on the shatter damage part, to around 12k-14k when I do most by using a chain of skills.

As I said I run a more condition damage duild, but I feel it a bit too weak, I feel I die easily, but may be cause to I do things wrong, also killing in a group seems my thing, more fun you can kill and not expose yourself to damage, cause there’s always someone to tank the damage so I can make 100% direct damage to one or more targets. but I will have to train, and hopefully one mate will get GW2 so I can play pvp with him, as I easily take 1v1 in pvp training almost instakill them, but I haven’t got a response from him yet, so we will se, but I love this build, and it’s very amazing.

And the thing why die sometimes is that it’s not my day or I had a bad day or similar, if you don’t feel happy you will play crappy. also if you are upset etc. dunno why but I feel somethings wrong, but I hope things get better, I have learnt so much with this build thanks a lot and I hope I will learn by my mistakes etc. but the best player have also failed alor before getting good, and they will still die sometimes, but else I had a good day in overall, finishing school for this term etc. havin fun with friends etc. talking about this build, and how fun you are having. Christmas coming and all. talking away from the subject :P, but the thing is to play good, you have to feel good, atleast that is required for me.

If you play good, you can take up to 5 enemies by your self. But if you are two you easily take 5 up to 7 enemies, in case you don’t make any mistakes, cause vs this many you will die if you make one timing one second to late, or miss using abilities, also where you have to save some CDs to keep constant damage in the fight, but if you use burst to take down one of them, they may start rezzing the downed/killed one, making it even more superior to use AoE damage, sword skill#2, and shatter #1. can deal around 16k damage if you crit every strike*. Wich I also meantioned in my earlier post, thus this is for pure shattercat mesmer. wich means you will have a more like glass build with the shatter to deal tons of damage. but you can change some of the zerker pieces to valkyre or knights to get either more armor or health.

* this is the total damage with both shatter#1, and sword#2, with 3 clones + that you make shatter damage aswell. and having ~90% or more critical damage.

Chaos storm is very good if you need to rez or prevent enemy from stomping them, saved a lot of allies by casting chaos storm on my ally, also then I can blink in and stun them for a longer duration using shatter#3, giving my allies even more time to either kill one of their, or NPCs if close, or another ally to rez them, as I keep enemy busy trying to kill me, also Time Warp is good, if you have low hp vs low hp, cause you can now down him fast and then quickly finish him, allowing you to recover a bit for next fight, if enemy still is near.

you have to complete to a certain point in the main story to be able to use the gate, and to go to gate. If not wrong, you have to complete the lvl70 quest

Take another scenario. cloaked mesmer with storm, and a cloaked thief goes in it. Would you become un-stealthed or not, cause you don’t know if you deal damage.

Well, you can make a similar shattercat build, but more condition or, more tanky, that’s the good with the build, I run a condition based more or less, but still pretty much damage using shatter(1). You can make a dual of same build, making fights 2vX more difficult. cause the damage is so high, and imagine 2*16k damage to a tank warrior. He would be dead in the matter of around two seconds

Sounds nice, but the problem is that you have a long CD on daze, and from what I have noticed it seems bugged sometimes, where it won’t apply daze. so I recommend a shatter or condition damage instead of daze shatter

Was against a guardian and warrior last day, and waited for an ally to come so we could beat them, if I was going to attack them both myself, who to start attacking, I guess guardian but I am not sure, thanks for any tips.

Yeah, I got chocked today, vs a glass thief, was insta downing me, cause of his powerful glass, but he failed when trying to finish me, and I ended up crushing his skull xD.

The best part is that you can modify the build, cause you can make it more condition if you want, or more tanky, but still do the damage you want

PS: I run a bit more condition damage, but still do around 12-14k burst damage

Edit: Was playing in a party 4 people total, vs another 4 people, was fun, cause I was dancing and waving at them (before fight), and then slaughter them, guardians and warriors are easy, bet I got around 4 kills on each guy xD, was bowing, but they kept respawning

Love the vids, so much to learn every time, also, that last one with the warrior, LOL xD. what did he do… try to escape when impossible…, love when enemy does that, also I learnt to deal with thief’s now. So easy, they cloak and they still stay to close when the shatter is executed, then a few seconds later, hello Mr downed thief.

Haven’t played so much with GS + Sword/pistol, and I can’t say anything about that combo, I still prefer staff due to chaosfield, it literary melt class thief’s etc. Also it’s good for applying conditions, as I have a bit more condition damage-build, but still mostly high burst-shatter damage.

I play hi res, but when huge zergs or armies vs each other I usually lower everything to low, not that huge of a difference, only textue res is what I notice when I change, also shadows is noticeable

@Volatility, Gs is a a viable weapon, it had its place as a long distance wep, my personal oppinion thu on GS is that it lack to much in defense to be a perfect roaming wep. Alot of players will have problems fight you and your GS until suddenly you run into a good thief, a “shatter cat” mesmer, skilled warrior or something else that go inside your defenses, stick to your face and dont let go.

Gs work well as its a specialiced wep, its range and good at range. Alot of ppl will die by your GS and een feel defenseless as they feel they take to much dmg at range and cant get you in close due to shatters, puchback and stealth. It thu is not as flexible, it lack defence and dmg at short range, a good player who read you, get close start melt face and immune bursts and your puchback will be wery hard to win vs.

As staff/s-p you WANT to be in their face, you have several option to get there and ways to do dmg if they stay away. Its immpossible to kite you but you can kite most other classes in combat. So when you run into somone who want to be in mele range they doing you a favour. Ofc there are some classes we have probem with, its a flexible build and cover many areas good, its not a specialiced build thu and a bunker/duel build are harder 1 vs 1 even if we now with might stacks do this better. The hardest fights I have nowdays is vs bunker eles and deep condition thiefs.

I hope this not sound like I trakittenalking the GS, it is a strong wep, I just dont favour it.

As you say GS is viable but only at long range, think I will have one in my bag in case someone is goleming a keep or the castle, cause to their slow mobility and you can also apply cripple using phantasm. Which makes them even more slow.

I have some experience using GS, it’s good, but once you switches to another weapon set like s/p and staff, you focus more 1v1, or close combat AoE, which makes you vulnerable to golems high hp, you can always experiment with different builds, and keep some other weapon in case you may need if for some random reason.

Every weapon have it’s own strength and weakness the sword is short range but deals massive damage, and GS is good at long range and pretty useless at close. Staff somewhere between, mid damage and long range. But still not that powerful, but still is powerful enough in most common battles, due to clones and chaos field. only these weapons iv’e used, and pistol for stunning and dealing damage with illusionary duellist.

Also as Osicat say GS is strong, yes very, but once you learnt to use s/p and staff, you can crush anything as well, just it’s takes longer to learn s/p, Staff – shatter build, but you can kill anyone almost instantly, and adds some more challenging to the game, as you now need to be in CC all the time, bursting down enemy. Literary you have no space for mistakes, almost, it will result in you insta dead instead

I’ve been playing with some other skills, like mimic and feedback. love them, cause you can reflect enemy projectiles with mimic and then shoot again for extra damage, insane vs glassthief, he would kill himself xD

@UnknownFreak, Yeah, big group rendering is sudden death sometimes. Personaly I prefere play in 10~ man teams nowdays, it can do alot of change for fights and for shorter time even hold back or slow down a zerg. Last night Judge 10 man team fought a 30+ man arbon zerg for a longer time in Ogrie camp Npc area by hold the doorwayys and chokepoints for a time and with portal and abacktracking mesmer move to next doorway when we about to be owerrun. This way we could slow down alot bigger force untill a commander with a friendly zerg could join. 10 man is also enought to hit and ninja a unguarded tower behind enemy lines if ppl not pay attention.

@Monztor, the buff is a base dmg buff for both condition and direct dmg. As our vitality is not as depnding on crit al time now we can drop a little crit, so if you before had 5% crit chance on sword or pistol change that for 5% dmg now. This as the dmg also buff condition dmg. I also will try change a valkyre neclese and get a invader, still zerker jewel thu. This will cost me a little crit dmg but get my toughtness over 1200 and my dmg still is alot better than pre patch. I tell you how the change turned out. Vitality is not as problematic now in wvwvw as before as we now got server buff working. With server buff up my hp is 17-18 k.

Noticed more and more, people zerg alot these days. seems you have to either play in a zerg or have a small sniping team, to confuse and also to distract enemies. Also the mesmer buffs in latest patch, seems very good, you can defend a supply camp from 3 other with no problem x), the amount of raw burst damage is huge, and can easily down one of them, and then you just need to hold out keeping them from rejoining(downed), then the easy part comes, crush the rest

My playstyle is often staff when zerging, or joining the commander to assault enemy keep, sometimes when I see someone that is trying to escape, I switch to sword/pistol, and stun them and insta down them. Then switch back to staff if I see a group trying to res their downed player, and it does not go well for them.

Also I like to play in a five group party in the morning when the zergs are sleeping, you can easy gain a K/D up to 30 persons. Hopefully this will happen soon cause I will have days off from school in the week’s end. But I believe I will sleep til 12.00 xD, lazy…. always lazy.

EDIT: also don’t like to play alot in zerg vs zerg, causes lag :/

Im having my times when I play good, and those other when I play crappy so no wants to play with me :P, well the thing is that I have problems vs someone when zerging with a group etc. and due to render bug, they kill me and everyone else:/

But only have played mesmer for 312 hours so this is not bad, I think 100 with your shatter build, and only 602* deaths , with around 1300 kills in WvW.

*deaths count for both PvE and WvW so I have no Idea what WvW death ratio is

Just found out that you can snipe enemy cata’s, ballistas, etc. And even do tons of damage, using portal is a smart choice, so if something goes wrong you can portal back and allies can portal to siege, also our server must have it’s first major “phew”, after defending stonemist for around 10 min with enemy in castle lord room, would have been a pain in the kitten if they would have taken it (castle fully upgraded), also was SO close dying to a backstabbing thief, almost instantly killed me, got me downed -> thought I would die, was lucky and was able to revive 100%, start a new fight with him and pwn him, this was inside stonemist.

Also noticed that two people can add so much confusion by taking same route as the enemy, backstab them (they have no Idea what just happen), the rest of your team kills them cause now they will FOCUS you down, and they leave their weakness unprotected, this case AoE, where they where almost instantly killed

Also the mesmer buffs are nice, and also portal nerf is not a problem for me (portal nerf is only 20 usages)
