Ran with some EMP guys over the weekend. I have a feeling that when the dust settles EMP on JQ will be just as strong as ever, maybe more so. Good luck to the guys that left, better luck to those that stayed.
Well, Waha is quit, no more Waha’s 80 zerg
Quit or went to bed? He was on doing his thing as only Waha can do yesterday.
Today is a sad day for JQ, found out today that EMP and FIRE are leaving JQ to another unamed Server :[[[
FIRE isn’t going anywhere.
I love you too man!
Don’t forget the OPs point. It’s interfering with his dead-spying.
The fact that people can dead-spy means we need a means to counter the dead spies.
I need players to match my skill. Simply put.
Ah, that clears it up. Well, my kids have a guild… they don’t have any adults in there but you could ask.
You give me a break and show us the proof of your so called wiping, at the moment it’s a bunch of talk and no hard evidence till you can prove this your “argument” is moot.
and before you claim that we have no proof of what we are capable of, check Youtube.
I’m not saying “we” died, like i said 5 people doesn’t make up the entirety of VoTF.
I would, but I need to go clear inventory space again.
I just sit on their heads to hopefully prevent them from being able to spy. Of course, I’ve dropped the occasional ram build site on them as well.
No. Having the enemy name (and health bar as a result) is critical in telling if there’s someone being stealth-rezzed right in front of you.
I would recommend a grey name, and the healthbar can still be present.
That would work.

Volkon since it seems like you’re being genuine I’ll answer your question. No one is addressing who would be allowed to win because no one is suggesting an alliance, like I said in the second post and as was said several times above. What is being said is that BG and SoR should take advantage of times when one server is attacking JQ at times when JQ has superior coverage to the other two servers instead of constantly tiptoeing around JQ. At least that is what I am saying. The competition in this tier will never truly be a three way competition if JQ is avoided most of the time or if JQ is engaged an equal amount. Both BG and SoR have to engage JQ more than they engage with themselves, not instead of themselves. I thought this was clear but in case it wasn’t, hopefully this clears up any continuing confusion.
Oh hell, if that’s all then I’ve already seen that happen plenty of times. I recall many fights where we’re trying to defend Bay and we’ll have one server break in the north, the other in the south and some epic fights ensue (for example),The thing is, we’re all opportunistic. If you leave a weak flank to anyone it’ll get bit, and that’s as it should be. How long would it be, for example, before even a pug group ignored this proposed armistice and took a tower of opportunity?
JQ isn’t avoided by either one of you… that’s a silly concept right there. We’ve been victim of the alleged 2v1 just as both BG and SoR have felt they’ve been as well. It’s the nature of the three-server set up. You’ll always have a soft underbelly somewhere.
However, I would argue that your screenshot does not reflect the bulk of the discussion that we cover in these threads, which seem to consist mainly of coverage, timezones, numbers and guild, player and server behaviours. All of this is opinion based.
In my view the only facts are the score updates. Feel free to disagree, you have the right to express your opinion.
I disagree with some of this too. I can say that during a fight last night where a poster accused the our guild of having an 80 man zerg, we only actually had 22 of us online in W3 with 10 extras by taking having everyone stack, take a supply info, open up the guild interface, and take a screenshot. Sorry… our ‘80’ man zerg was actually 32.
To be fair, Covenn, I did say you were mixed with others. It’s just your guild tag that stood out numerically as the plurality.
Believe it or not, that wasn’t directed at your post in any way. It was just a hypothetical example.
Aw, I thought we went full circle to the drunk naked PvP night. Dang.
makes it a compliment to JQ, not a complaint
It’s definitely better to choose to take it as such, I agree. Still, no one seems to be willing to answer the thought as to which server in this hypothetical 2v1 would be allowed to win and which allowed to serve as the lapdog of the other. As I see it, any server with a hole in thier coverage is at risk of being solely targeted by JQ which would pretty well guarantee that their alliance would cost them any chance at all of ever winning or possibly ever finishing second. Then the other server would become insufferable with thier illusion of dominance… oh the forum PvP that would ensue…
JQ’s EU/NA morning flipppin SoR’s map without foo. Dont undermine the INTL coalition
.
I love the little voice in the distance… “rez plz”

Actually, the “complaining” here is about Black Gate and Sanctum of Rall…
… not teaming up to take on JQ in a coordinated 2v1 for the entire match. Right.
As far as fabricated nonsense well, this is a gaming forum, open your eyes and look around. Hey, read some of your own posts.
See, this is where you and I may differ. Fabrication is too obvious and easy to see through.
Take for example a certain poster who has a habit of that. To avoid naming names, calling someone out specifically, and to avoid offending anyone, lets refer to him simple as ‘Potato Alcohol’. People have stopped taking ‘Potato Alcohol’ seriously because of the blatant and repeated use of outright fabrication. This means that ‘Potato Alcohol’’s posts are ineffectual.
I avoid fabricating anything on purpose and stick to legitimacy as a golden rule.
Heh… you’re good.
Heh, I just deal with facts. I woke up to what was a close match for the first 10 hours on reset night to a 12k lead once the 4am shift took over. Are you denying this never happened?
Well maybe he is implying that BG and SoR don’t upgrade, siege up, repair, and make sure supply gets in. I think every SoR and BG player knows better though.
I wonder what would happen if FOO took a week off?
Sorry covenn. While we are good at sieging up our keeps and towers, we are terrible at walking supply. It’s usually a few dedicated people on SoR walking Yaks, and usually not enough to prevent Yak ganking by organized havok squads.
Actually, I like to think that NA BG has some pretty good havok squads. We really don’t see much yak walking/sentry guarding or even supply camp guarding from SoR or JQ after we make our presence known in an area. Of course, we welcome you to bring more people to walk yaks… please!!
FoO would be a lot of fun to play against judging based on this discussion.
You do realize that 40 people is generally too big to be considered a havoc squad, yes?
You do realize that Team Riot fields 5-10 players if we are lucky and doesn’t zerg, yes? And we’re not the only 5-10 man guild on BG that roams. You need to get of your zerg more often, bro!
Hmm? Oh, no, I was just innocently asking, that’s all. I’ve seen different definitions of havoc squads and wanted to know where you stood. Team Riot? What’s the guild tag, I don’t recall seeing them on the BLs lately. (Probably due to not paying attention…)

This is a gaming forum. There are no facts here. Just opinions and peoples perceptions.
I disagree that there are no ‘fact’.
For example: I can post a screenshot of my player kill total at 8pm server time, then again at 10pm server time, and make a post stating that I killed 1023 players in two hours.
How would that not be a ‘fact’ ?
Screenshot or it didn’t happen.
Then we can claim photoshopping.
Jade Quarry… big enough that complaining about them requires two WvW threads.
A perfect example right here.
Foo works diligently to provide for their faction, NA rewards them with…. naked night?Hold the phone. Naked night occurs regardless of the score.
Did we forget the conversation subject?
All these people agreeing with me is throwing the chemestry out of whack.
Weren’t we talking about getting FOO naked and rubbing them down with omnomberry pies?
LoL was fun on SoRBL last night fighting TW. I don’t know if they realized how many naked peeps they were fighting.
I think there were 8 or 9 commander tags at one point. More tags than armor or sense.TW must’ve figured out they weren’t getting any WXP after a while.
They were farming you at the spawn point with ballistas and trebs, as much fun as you were having, I’m sure they were just as happy to let you guys feed their bags.
What time are you talking about? When I was on it was a battle at Lakeside. There was a ton of SoR inside, the gate and wall were down facing spawn, every now and then a wave of SoR would pour out then recede… it was a blast. No spawn camping there.
I do recall a handful of BG trying to come in from the west a couple times, but they didn’t have the numbers so nothing really came of that.
A perfect example right here.

Duels are for kitten. Costume brawls are for fun.
Costume Brawls fit in the GW2 raison d’etat much better.
Right now these tactics are one of the major reasons JQ is winning.
Where do the tictacs go during prime time? NA crew just bored from the huge lead FOO gets you?
Ah, look at you covenn, another one trying to cause a rift between FOO and the rest of JQ. Shameful tactic. Shameful indeed.
Rift? I don’t play in that time slot normally …and when I do, I enjoy fighting them. I don’t want them going anywhere.
What is shameful is you reading into something that wasn’t there and/or trying to use that to deflect the point I made, which was a very valid response to a very ignorant post made by someone else.
Ah, nice deflection deflecting the point by accusing me of deflecting. Well played!
I don’t play Rift either.
Well done. Referring to my use of ‘Rift’ as the game use of the ‘Rift’ instead of the reference to the ‘Rift’ you used to try and deflect my initial point.
A cup of deflection with a sprinkle of word play to make the confusion pie.
Well, I do play a mesmer, but prefer the Omnomberry version myself.
HUGE fight at Lake versus what looked like the entire TW zerg (with many others tossed in). More and more JQ players started removing the armor getting into the spirit of the guild night. I of course refrained from getting naked as we needed at least a modicum of seriousness on our side. Still, bags galore, huge battles… it was a blast. I couldn’t help but wonder, however, if those on the SoR side could tell our guys were naked or do we render in armor regardless?
TW zerg at peak last night was 22 according to our guild roster. Well our total playing, I am not sure how many we actually had out in WvW. Probably close to all of us I imagine.
I was at that farm session and couldn’t stop laughing at all the random naked people I saw in your hoard. Glad it was a fruitful bag session for everyone…. though the points were only coming in at a trickle. So many kills worth nothing or under 10 points.
Guess it was due to all the naked people running back out from spawn, heh.
It’s a thing we do in FIRE as a guild event to add a little fun for that. There was much laughter on TS. Naked people seem to get more raucous in combat for some reason.
Right now these tactics are one of the major reasons JQ is winning.

There are moments of 2v1 all the time, it’s the nature of three sided combat.
Interesting thought… if SoR and BG were to team up against JQ, who would get to “win” and who would get the honor of acting at the lapdog?
Right now these tactics are one of the major reasons JQ is winning.

I would also add that I think this also partly extends to JQ’s other coverage zones as well. I play NA and EU as well often and those timezones have groups that do the same stuff although not always with Foo’s zeal. Alot of these sorts of activities gain no wxp but it gets done anyway.
Right now these tactics are one of the major reasons JQ is winning. Sure we make full use of our stronger timezones and appear to have some better numbers at times as well but we defend and upgrade our stuff better than the other two servers and so hold onto to points for longer.
I am surprised to see you agree that other timezones on JQ essentially function as foo’s janitors.
I’m surprised that you seem to think constantly mentioning FOO as you do will somehow lead to a rift in our server. We have a ton of respect for them and are glad to have them as a part of JQ. We also fight are rectums off during our own prime times as well.
Changing the subject, naked drunk night on SOR last night was fun. HUGE fight at Lake versus what looked like the entire TW zerg (with many others tossed in). More and more JQ players started removing the armor getting into the spirit of the guild night. I of course refrained from getting naked as we needed at least a modicum of seriousness on our side. Please have the foresight NOT to reward for taking supplies from Keep or Tower… just saying
I’ll do no such thing!
Do I sense a negative WXP coming? Bwa ha ha haaaa
We were ticking away at 340 at one point last night prime time, but it is always competitive with JQ during that time. Having the same amount of people out in W3 makes for much better action.
Sorry, I wasn’t on, was watching Defiance. (Good show so far.)
I figure me not being on accounts for at least 40ppt for you all. Reality is irrelevant.
So, which T1 server do you think needs to be kicked out of T1 right now?
Remember, changes not well thought out may wind up kicking servers out of places they fought their collective buttocks off to get to.
So they moved reset up so it starts 2 hours earlier. Any debate for this?
They did?
Remember that dyes will look different on different armor types. What may look a little washed on metal may be quite brilliant on cloth or leather.
There needs to be a “Lord Vanquish” title.
Oh, rule of thumb…
NEVER ask for mesmers on reset night! Don’t do it… trust me on this.
On JQ there will be times when some guilds will sponsor portals to the JPs as kind of server-wide events. Never a problem in this case. Hell… if someone wants to sit on a portal on their own (no “event” going on) and help people up more power to them in my opinion. Just keep in mind that it is a PvP based map, so be courteous to those engaging in PvP and don’t use the JP as a massive guild hang-out with no one contributing to the cause. That’s just flat out rude.
If we do this, then we need a way to vote people out of the BL.
I’d rather have an active member of a guild(one who uses server comms etc) take a 30 minute afk(and thus a q spot), than have someone in the JP wasting a q spot.
No. You open WvW up to trolling and attempts by some guilds to control the maps, kicking out people whenever they feel like it. Someone actively doing the jumping puzzle has far more rights to be there than someone that joined and went AFK for an extended period. If I need to AFK for anything remotely significant I’ll pop back to L.A. and take my chances with the queue when I get back.
They just need to change autocast to not register as actual player input.
If it’s that simple that’s a good idea.
Why is this not in game? I know GW2’s signature is breaking the trinity, but why?
Because it’s better this way. If you’re having troubles, step back a moment, take a breath and take a good, hard second look at your skills and what they do. Pay special attention to secondary and even tertiary effects. Notice also the after effects, options that only come up for a brief period of time after you use the skill initially (see mesmer focus 4, for example).
Look, myriads of MMOs have tried replicating the archaic trinity concept ever since WoW came blazing onto the market eating up a huge chunk of the share. Most of them quickly poofed into obscurity shortly after as the one or two tweaks to the system they added simply weren’t enough to capture anyone’s attention. Hey, why leave a polished, established MMO like WoW, where they’ve a long history, for an upstart with a mere tweak or two here and there? It’s been over half a year now since GW2 launched and there are two top dogs in the MMO world these days… WoW still, and GW2.
That should be enough to tell you why.
I guess I don’t see how you can make the score relevant. You will still see the same issues.
I don’t see the difference between “We are down by 70k” and “If we achieve 200k by the end of the match we get this achievement, but we are short by 70k”. In either instance, you have zero reason to show up as the outcome is likely sealed.
In the end, I don’t think the overall problem is the carrot at the end. I think the problem is we are already beaten so what is the point.
There’s a difference between being beaten and playing like it.
Thanks Noodles. I honestly wasn’t expecting that from you.
Meh… I’ve gotten to know Noodles a little. I expected no less and once again failed to be disappointed.
The nice thing about being a mesmer… when I get confusion bombed I simply pass it over to someone else on the enemy side.
300-400 ppt on weeknights vs uplevels, thats like being 20 years old and winning a race at an elementary school track meet. Congrats.
So your the kid nudging your older brother (FOO), saying hey, “I can’t win my own fights” can you beat these (SOR) bullies for me? Then you get to brag how tough you are!
I don’t think you properly understand the analogy. We regularly win on reset night, the one night where everyone comes onto the maps with equal holdings and the one night you actually find JQ NA having to put forth an effort. For your analogy to be correct, we would have to lose that night and every other night instead of playing alts or doing other fun things that life affords us. In light of your misunderstanding I will retool the analogy.
300-400 ppt on weeknights vs uplevels, thats like being held back 2 years in elementary school and beating all your classmates in a race. Congrats.
So if you guys didn’t have FOO upgrading all your keeps over night and giving you the lead, you think you still win? That’s a good one, keep them coming. Congrats on ignorance.
There are a couple factors here.
1. FOO is indeed amazing. Love those guys.
2. We have a huge lead. As such, many people are simply taking a break from WvW (with victory assured) and many others are leveling characters in WvW. Last night we were out-manned on SOR and BG borderlands at the same time. That was… painful.
3. There is no three, but a list of two seems a bit small.
4. See 3.
Four more emails from these clowns today alone. Well, they’re as persistent as they are annoying.
They’re not even going to the email I have my account tied to, which is relieving.
I wonder if Josh’s group would be the right ones to handle Polymock, or is that under a different group?
High fives to you and the family Titan. Kids are indeed amazing. Many grats!
