So can anyone tell me a situation where this spell is actual usefull? Cause from what I’ve seen it’s just a nerfed version of FGS.

This is one of the easiests solo fights you can get, especially compared to Liadri from the last patch. For eles just walk on the ramp, get your staff out and spam fire 1, or 2 and 5 if he gets closer. I’m assuming every prof has some kind of ranged weapon so this should be trivial. And just dodge/move away from bombs and the poison AoEs that the vines below throw at you. There is no time limit so just peel him off.

Something I noticed myself, there is no real weather in GW2. I noticed a what supposed to be a rain while waiting for Teq but was more like someone taking a leak from a plane. The snow is the same, it’s like 2 flakes per square meter with all details cranked up, would be cool to have snow blizzards that reduce visibility the same way the dust storms do in Dry Top.
I won’t go as far as OP’s idea of dynamic weather events since that would be alot of work for the devs, but dynamic weather at least would bring up some freshness to the existing zones. Yet again, all the cool weather effects are DX11, but I would be happy with the stylized DX9 they are using right now aswell.

Depends what type of gamer you are. If you are hardcore and you got map completion and legendaries on all your characters in 3 months then yeah, there’s not much you can do except leveling a new character or try a different game. But that’s not specific to GW2, this happens to every game.
I’m a casual player, after one year I still didn’t even scratch the surface of the game altho I play almost daily, so there’s plenty of stuff for me to do even without new content. Tho I must say the new zone got me so invested I got all my achievements already for it after 48h of release.

Bottom line, if you like a game at it’s core and you have good friends to play with, then new content shouldn’t be a priority. But humans like changes, that’s why players switch games after a while or come back. You don’t need to force yourself to like it.

This was the first episode of the new LS, afaik they plan on releasing one episode every 2 weeks, so you’ll have new content a week from now.

Same here, I’m enjoying my time alot. Doesn’t matter the game, people will always have something to complain about.

Is Anet willing to change this or it’s something done on purpose? I know changing the AI of the bosses to prevent this kind of stuff is fairly easy, so I’m wondering why it hasn’t been changed so far.

Yes it does.

The recipes are character bound. If you don’t have armorsmithing you can still learn the recipe and have it when you choose to learn armorsmithing. You can have all crafting professions on one character, just 2 active tho. Switching your active crafting professions keeps all your learned recipes and levels so not a problem to do it often, except a fee of a few silver coins.

All this kittening proves that skins are what players want the most, hence are the most profitable, hence it will make sense to use them to get some money since they need money to keep the game going. No money = No GW2. Get it?

No idea, but I already got all the achievements in 2 days and have no interest whatsoever to buy anything from the vendors, so pretty much done with this content.
Hope they release the next episode soon.

This happened 30mins after release on the map I was in.

I actually enjoyed it, had genuine fun with the new content, tho I must say it’s a lot less of a content from what I expected, only thing to do now are a couple of achievements that I’m most likely finish in a day or two.

If I’m not mistaken, a team in the EU Tournament of Legends finals had an ele with them, so I’m pretty sure they are viable in sPvP as long as you are good at it.
I had a guardian, got bored of it, and then rolled an elementalist. Suffice to say that I deleted my lvl 80 guard and I’m having a hard time choosing a proffesion to level again, simply because eles are so much fun. Especially now after the 15th of April patch when we received a couple of buffs.
So as an advice that is viable to all of MMOs, choose a proffesion based on what you want and what you enjoy, don’t listen to elitists and theorycrafters and the like. You won’t be good at it if you don’t enjoy playing it, no matter how “OP” that profession is or not. I’m pretty sure 90% of warriors will get facerolled by a decent ele.
Also not everyone runs fast run dungeons in zerker gear, so even if FGS wall stacking gets nerfed that doesn’t mean the proffesion won’t be less important or you won’t find any dungeon groups to join.
Like I said, try the proffesion, give it some time to get used with attunement switching, evading and combos, and see if it’s right for you. It might seem squishy at first, but at lvl 80, with a decent build and gear you will hardly die anymore and facemelt groups of NPCs or players.

I got spammed after I entered HotM, guess there’s some bot scanning high populated areas for players and then spams them with crap.

So after the update, if you use the Glyph of Elementals elite skill, then the slot icon for it changes to ‘locked’ instead of showing it as being used and display the cooldown (same icon as if you didn’t unlock any of your elite skills). Doesn’t happen with other elite skills from what I’ve seen.

I like every change of the feature pack so far. And being a programmer I know how hard and time consuming those changes were, so they didn’t take those decisions lightly, rest assured there was some analisys of what the community wants or what might be better for the future of the game.
Just because 10 people rant on the forums that they want something doesn’t mean anything. Was proven again and again that only a small amount of the players care to read or write on the game forums (valid to any game not just GW2).

Full zerker with 12k HP with no points in arcana, somehow I fail to see how that is gonna work on the long run, unless you ambush a poor kitten on a road.

Seems there’s a portion of the map in LA where the character walks through the what supposed to be sand.

We want to give the elementalist a bit more survivability and support when going skirmishing with enemies, both in PvE and PvP. Elementalists with a dagger in their main hand will gain an extra evasion on their Burning Speed as well as a blast finisher on their Frozen Burst. For PvP players, we’re removing the PvP skill splits that were implemented for both Signet of Restoration and the Cleansing Water grandmaster trait.

I’m pretty new to ele, and this looks nice, but I surely hope there’s more survivability added in the patch than control.

Because you can already buy what’s in the VIP bonus for CN in GW2 in the Gem Store. Like I said, how come now GW2 is not P2W when you can buy the bonuses separately but it’s gonna be P2W if you buy them bundled together with a fancy “VIP” name.

Except for the fancy title and icon and the useless teleport to friend, everything that’s mentioned in the vip benefits you can already buy from the Gem Store. I mean, no one complains that you can buy instant bank access, or orb revivers, or character slots, or bag slots, or xp boosters, or etc… but when they are all thrown together sudenly kittenstorm breaks loose.
Not sure how much VIP status would cost, but i assume wouldn’t be alot cheaper than if you were to buy all those benefits individually from the Gem Store.

Minimum wage in Eastern Europe is around 200-300E. Buying GW2 is a 1 week worth your wage around there if you work at McDonald’s or w.e, yet no special discounts. So I don’t think it has anything to do with the buying power but more with what has been stripped away from the normal game for CN release.

I think it’s not about the proffesion but more of the playstyle. In WoW you just sit tight in one spot and you kill mobs by outdpsing them, maybe throw a heal or two once and a while.
In GW2 the playstyle is more dynamic, PvE is more close to PvP than in WoW, meaning you need to constantly be moving, dodging, CCing, kiting, etc. You can’t just sit there and hope to outdps a mob unless you are 20+ levels higher and have pretty decent gear and build, and even then you will encounter mobs that can almost get you do to map level scaling down.
If you played a druid, hunter or warrior in PvP in WoW then it would be easier for you to get into the mechanics of GW2. Warrior’s stance-dance and druid’s shapeshift spam helps alot to get into proffesions like the elementalist.
All in all, always be moving, even if it means running in circles around the mob, never stand still, and your endurance bar should never be full, always dodge when you see a big hit coming. Also make sure you cure the conditions (aka DOTs) on you as soon as possible if you get them, from my experience those are the big damage dealers. Oh and never stand in the red circles if you didn’t figured out that by now .

Like everyone said, it’s either the PSU or overheating. You said you ruled out overheating but not sure how exactly you did that. Try running Prime95 till the temperature stabilizes itself, also get HWInfo and look over all the temps displayed there, might be the VRMs that get overheated not the CPU. Same for GPU, try running FurMark and see if everyhing is ok.
From my professional experience a PC shutting down is hardware related, be it overheating, failing PSU or failing MB.
If something software related goes really bad the PC is just restarting itself, not shutting now, the support guys you talked with are useless.

@leonidash: Same thing, check for overheating, might be your CPU or GPU throttling down due to it, hence the worse performance and in the end BSOD.
