If it is now baseline then that’s a pretty large buff to steal, I like.
I’m still favouring Critical Strikes over Trickery, I consider Hidden Killer to be the foundation of my zerk dd build.
Take your base crit chance up way high and you do not need hidden killer. My p/P build used a base 80 crit chance with near permanent access to fury.
This might be even easier to do with attributes pulled from the trait lines.
Then you lack power, no thankyou. I crit 13k backtabs due to my power 3.1k+ (WvW), and thats the way I will be keeping it.
Cloaked in shadow is a worthy GM trait if you play zerk DD, try playing without it, you really cant. I feel that most of this whine is coming from thieves who do not play zerk DD and haven’t realised how important it actually is.
Oh we realize how important it is… So much so that we also realize that forcing us to choose between it and another even more essential trait for D/D builds isn’t fair, since the weapon set was already struggling to stand out.
And let’s be real… You’re saying it’s totally fine where it is? Seriously sit down and ask yourself if the D/D build you use would be even remotely as effective as it currently is without the sustain from Shadow’s Rejuvenation, especially when compared to other sets that DO have SR because they (unlike D/D) don’t need CiS.
Ive played zerk DD since release, and have never needed to go 6 into SA for shadow rejuv, it is a crutch, most people know that, so nothing to ask myself, I can play without it very easily, blinding a 9k evi is far more important than sitting in stealth letting your hp regen, fact is if you spending to much time in stealth as a DD you are doing it wrong anyway…
Not one of you is looking at this with the whole picture in mind.

Imagine p/d dire thieves with cloaked in shadows along with everything else included in this patch.

I really don’t care about PD cheesballs, I either kill them from initial burst or reset the fight and kill them, and with this patch that will be even easier since I will now be able to take shadows embrace… My DD build is buffed with this patch, I’m not worried about anything.

I like a lot of the ideas to be honest looks like the new critical strike path is pathetic, why even put points into it.
For Hidden Killer, I never want my 13k backstabs to not crit, and after the patch when I can have executioner also, then those crits are going to be bigger and even more reason to not see them fail.

I think you are on the right lines here but really they should just make Legendary armor, to me it seems like the most obvious next gen step they could take, although I guess once they do that there maybe nowhere left to go other than making more legendary armors, and ofc these armor’s should be very difficult to aquire through gameplay/quests/collections.
I always really enjoy the WvW seasons, it feels a bit more like gameface time, so yeah, do want.
4 sec reveal, the single reason I have not played thief in spvp since they added it, which was a long long time ago.
The transparency is refreshing for sure, so much so that it even made me wonder do Anet really know this guy is telling us all this info? its kinda out of character really, but its a very welcome change.
Anyway, keep up the good work Stephen, some of us have been praying for a cure to skill lag for many years, playing through it because of a sheer love of the game and of WvW, forever living in hope that one day large battles will play perfectly, maybe, just maybe, that day is drawing near.

Some people just have no honor. This will prob go the same way Rank 80 spvp did after all the skyham farmers, Anet will prob cut Ultimate Dom in half down to 100k and then everyone will have it anyway, just like Legendary champ.
Yeah same, had to log off due to motion sickness, this april fools is a pretty stupid idea imo, it should have lasted like 5-10 mins per account and be done, as it is its a hell hole.
Ok enough already, was ok for first 2 mins but I can t play the game due to it giving me motion sickness, how long do I have to wait till this is over?
Wait what? where did all the posts go? even one of the devs posts deleted? I was shocked reading that kill trading is not against any rules set by Anet, I find that disgusting tbh, you should have higher standards, when I played wow if anyone kill traded they were banned, simple as that.
These kinda activitys cheapen your game, same as the custom arena rank farms, its a farce, set higher standards for your game, its a great game but it has a few open wounds like these that need fixing.

A legendary journey that not everyone can go on since you are only releasing a handful of legendarys at release, you gotta be kidding me if you think that is a good idea…. I have been waiting to make a REAL shortbow for years and years, not that joke of a dreamer, and I bet I will have to wait even longer after HOT release for when you get around to releasing it, I’m not happy right now with this news.
Seems kinda unfair to release just a handful and leave some people unable to compete in the I built a HOT legendary race, which you know is how a lot of people will be thinking. This is another epicly bad move on Anets part.
@ chrono, well I don’t know about you but I will be making a Revenant in HOT and prob first thing to get done will be world complete, gotta have that star! so if there are any new rewards tied to it then that will be a bonus, if not then no problem cos I want to get it done anyway.
Hm… I experienced the opposite. With 5 man (or really small groups), the Wyvern was done in less than 2 Minutes , while a large group took much longer. It’s harder to knock it down, because the Upscaling was massive.
I didn’t notice any upscaling of the break bar, all I know is he was knocked down everytime with groups of 10 or more players which by an hour into beta all knew when to hit the boss with cc, it became trivial.
The encounter is nice but it should be restricted to 5 players max, it just becomes faceroll after that.
If you have ever been hit with 25 stacks of anything you should prob just uninstall, this change will make zero difference to wvw or pvp.
I agree with the op, from what I could see it only shows you the mastery points you have ever earned, and not how many you have to spend.
Example you could have earned 4 in your lifetime, spent 3 of them, but nothing is telling you that you still have 1 point to spend (unless I missed that).
Also I think at one point I even grinded a level of xp with no mastery selected, which I think was just wasted. There should be some auto select mastery like there is with pvp reward tracks.

If you’re a player and you got focused enough to get 61 stacks of bleed – you kinda need to die from it

In nearly 3 years of wvw and pvp Ive never been hit with more than 17 stacks of bleed, so I’m really not worried about this change, I only see it effecting pve.
It would be to easy if you didn’t have to get a level of xp per mastery point, I mean, you can get a mastery point very easily, flying 100 meters to a shrine thing, or completing a challenge that takes 2 mins, without the xp grind you would have everything unlocked in no time.
I’m fine with the way it is now, although they need to nerf the xp gain from the wyvern kill, getting half a level for a quick kill that u can log out and do again on a diff overflow instantly is just to much.
I’ve flipped a lot of camps in my time but I’ve never seen this before, just thought I would share as I found it amusing.
I’m glad u posted this, I have 14 character slots and did not even see that this Beta slot was there as it was hidden.

They could add map completion rewards for every map. It’s still time spent in the game and therefore it should be rewarded. It certainly isn’t going to blow their economy if they did and players aren’t going to complain about it. All in all, it’s a win-win situation.
Totally agree with this, as a slightly fanatical must get every thing type of player I enjoy getting every POI, Vista, skillpoint etc regardless if there is a reward or not, I always get them In southsun, drytop, silverwastes for all my chars just cos I like things completed BUT I do think anet should stop being so scrooge about it and reward players for doing this, a little bit of love like this would go a long way.
Between the skill lag and the random race/proffesion shouts, I decided to just log out and come back when we get the patch for the patch.
Just a heads up, mine has now fully downloaded after being stuck on 1 file for maybe an hour, just stick with it, I closed the lanuncher a couple of times when it started twitching out and saying conection errors, and then restarted, which does not lose any of your data, it continues to try and dl the last file, anyway just leave it run and read about all the other bugs while u wait, Im about to go in game but not sure I even want to, from what ive read there is a million bugs.
They clearly have nothing else to fix so they fix things that don’t even need it… oh wait…
You yourself called them exploits and yet you complain that they were removed, ofc they remove exploits and so they should, I can think of plenty more that should be removed too but that’s another story.
Same issue 99% complete, 1 file remaining, even had some weird twitching thing happen to the launcher which goes away if I close and restart it, but happened twice so far, not sure if lookin at websites is causing it. UK also, BT provider.

Playing on a server ranked 15 also makes it harder to get titles like ultimate dominator, since we don’t have the t1 blobs which make that title easier to get, but I’m not complaining, I will get it when I get it.
I don’t have unrealistic expectations of WvW achievements, I just want them to be difficult, unlike 95% of all other achievements in this game, It seems to me all you care about is getting achievement points and it would suit you for them to be easily obtainable, but I would rather there be some prestige in obtaining the titles, and I disagree, WvW is not a small part of GW2, for many players its the ONLY part of GW2 that they play the game for.

10k dolyaks, 1k Stonemist castle etc should be the absolute maximum for the achievements. Anything more is pretty much unrealistic and still way out of line compared to any other achievement category.
No thx, 10k is nothing, I already have 24k dolyaks, maybe make it 50k for the title, these titles should always be very rare, that is the nature of WvW titles, they are more exclusive than any others, and I would like to see them stay that way.
Am I the only one who has noticed that you can get tons of Dragonite Ore & Bloodstone Dust in large proportions, yet Empryeal Fragments are in tiny increments? I run with zergs in WvWvW and I do tons of jumping puzzles per day. So why is it I get an over abundance of the others and only get like maybe 35 Empryeal Fragments a day from doing hours of work to get them and I can make hundreds of Dragonite Ore and Bloodstone Dust in minutes of work.. Why isn’t the availability equal across the board? With the new Ascended items that consume these Ascended Crafting Materials, why aren’t they more readily available? I need thousands of Empryeal Fragments and I have millions of the other two. Can’t Anet raise the amount you get from doing the events that they are available from? The stats are very low in getting them.
It is equal, I have over 70,000 emp fragments, they are far to easy to get in wvw.
The write up is literally nothing. Fan videos from Bog Otter, Mattvisual and Wooden Potatos gave me all the info in a much better fashion.
But some people just use the official website as a news source.

You don’t get 2 legendary weapons, what you get is 2 legendary gifts of the explorer, which are just a tiny fraction of what you need to create a legendary. Another thing you get for 100% world complete is a star by the side of your name.
