Welcome to the game. It is beautiful. And it’s a lot of fun.
I don’t like SPvP for a few reasons. First, I live in Tasmania and sometimes, I don’t get enough time to react to be particularly effective. People who live in the States will have an advantage over me, even if it’s only half a second. That’s a pretty big advantage in PvP.
More to the point, when AI kills me in PvE, they don’t dance on my body or call me noob. Obviously it doesn’t hurt me if someone calls me a noob, but I don’t enjoy it either. I prefer to choose the people I hang out with, like my guild, and the more vocal kiddies who PvP and think how great they are, aren’t people I enjoy hanging around with.
I went into a PvP match I think it might have been yesterday, it was hotjoin, and there was a guild group on mumble just farming people. No one really had a chance, because they were pretty good. They were getting points, but blocking everyone else from getting anything.
Now, I could have gone and got my guild, and gone in there with a team of us, but for what purpose? So I could be as obnoxious as that group?
They kept making snide comments about teamspeak for the win and stuff like that, just to rub in the faces of people that they were going to beat our uncoordinated team, which of course is likely the case.
They used tricks to transfer from side to side, like leaving the match and waiting for autobalance so they could rejoin on the other side.
I like a good close game of SPvP between two evenly matched teams. But I only get that maybe half the time (if that). So my time in PvE is more enjoyable because I have more control over the experience.
It’s the same reason I don’t pug dungeons.
Rallying was never meant to be a get out of jail free card, and I wouldn’t expect any changes to it.
The reason the 4th skill exists at all is because originally, that didn’t exist in the game. Sometimes you’d kill something at the same moment it killed you and you’d die anyway because there was no way to heal in the downed state. It was never meant to be used while you’re being attacked.
If you party there’s more value to it, because it gives others a chance to rez you (though in that fight, you probably should wait for an NPC to do it if they’re not dead).
But there’s no suggestion that you’re supposed to heal yourself through damage and I seriously doubt this will change.
tldr; don’t expect it to change because it’s working as intended
I’m pretty sure they’re already working on changes to the trait acquisition system.
Couple of things:
Tickets: A kind forum member pointed out that I might want to express that we’re not able to provide transportation, lodging, or meals. When I say there is no cost, I mean there is no cost associated with a ticket that we’re giving for someone to attend as our guest. Other costs are on the guest.
Other Events: I agree it would be great to extend this to other events, and I’m actually working on something in that regard, as are other team members. Hope to have more info on that in the near future. (I am a huge, huge fan of gamecom and of any event that lets us interact with Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 players. Granted, I’m not nearly as interesting as Ree or Colin or Mike or the devs, but hey, what I lack in that quality I can make up for in enthusiasm, right? Basically, I’d show up at the local Starbucks if it involved fans.
)
Gaile, I’d be as happy to meet you as anyone on the Anet staff. You’ve meant a huge amount to this community for a very very long time.
Don’t sell yourself short.
Dearest Gale,
My love,
I would totally fly all the way over from Australia to see the team but I get this feeling they would not be able to handle my obscene language and offensive tendencies.Forum posters the world over rue the day I come into any civilised chat session, I am unwanted they say, off topic they say, offensive and inflammatory they say!
I can only imagine that in person I would be an even more disgusting and unruly individual. My sincerest apologies, as I do hold ArenaNet close to my rotten heart.
Yours in parting,
GMB.PS – My good friend Brazil may be interested however.
Bloody well said, mate.
I don’t know, commander is too formal, I think, for people you’re hanging out with that you happen to be friendly with.
Boss, as used by them, I never took to be literal. I took it as more of an acknowledgement that they’ve chosen to follow my lead.
Okay I don’t get these complaints. Let’s look at this closer.
I remember seeing charr and asuran and human corrupted risen. But Sylvari were immune to Zhaitan’s corruption.
Suddenly we can be corrupted, and now it’s a; big deal.
It’s just our turn.
The whole PAX thing is going to be a big let down. Wait and see.
Depends on how reasonable people’s expectations are.
Times like this I hate living in Australia. lol
Contact support, they’re replace one of them for you.
Edit: As for written, they do say unique on them, but most people don’t realize how that applies to the purchase.
Thanks everyone for your replies. It’s given me a lot to think about.
That said, there were a lot of comments about the meta and how it’s not always great, it’s just the common denominator accepted by the community? Would you recommend avoiding places like metabattle.com and finding my own builds instead?
Any suggestions on sources for builds and profession guides that are pertinent to the current client build?
Different players play differently. There are a couple of extremes such as min-maxers and people who don’t even know what a build is (opposite sides of the spectrum). Most of us are somewhere in between.
I personally don’t min/max. I don’t care if a dungeon takes me ten minutes or fifteen. It’s completely irrelevant to me. That’s because I don’t pug dungeons. I run dungeons with friends and guildies, and we’re on mumble laughing and joking and having a good time. Why do I need five minutes less of a good time.
That doesn’t mean I’ll just throw anything together though. I still want to help the team, even if it’s not the most efficient way to help the team. So if I know a certain battle would be easier with reflects, I bring a reflect skill with me (on my guardian or mesmer). If I know that condition removal is required, I make sure that I have that. If I’m playing my ranger, I spec so I buff peoples’ damage and heal and remove conditions AOE.
But I don’t like lose my mind if I’m not using the rune that will give me more damage than I have now, because I like the speed buff better the rest of the time. I won’t carry multiple suits of armor and switch them out depending on where I go. I’m just not interested in playing that way. It would ruin the game for me.
No one can tell you what kind of player you are. Either you buy into the meta, or you don’t. Me, I don’t. By choice. But I try to stay at least relevant. In other words, I try to find a balance between what I enjoy and what works best.
We obviously don’t know how the overall population of the game is, but it appears to be healthy.
This is exactly what Megaserver was designed to do. Hide the real population numbers.
Source?
Because there are other reasons to have a mega server other than that.
In WoW, the most successful MMORPG of all time, on many servers, mid level zones are dead. People complained about this for years.
Anet said that they didn’t want to add new zones to the game and further divide the player base on each server without having the megaserver in place.
There were always plenty of people at world events, certainly on my server. In Iron Marches…not so much.
The racial tension in game has been in there since after the Battle for Lion’s Arch. They’re building on it now.
There’s a couple of very interesting scenes that occur in Lion’s Arch involving the Lion Guard and prejudice against Sylvari.
I don’t understand the need or role of the different armor types in a game that says the trinity is gone.
Its just the typical RPG flavour. The same like classes, races and different weapon types.
And different armor classes even exist in solo games where you also don’t have
a trinity. And Gandalf can fight a Balrog alone just wearing light armor.
I call hacks.
Ok .. i don’t really get the meaning of that sentence .. is it just a joke about Gandalf is cheating .. or something else ?
If i try to translate it and then translate it back it could mean for example:
“I cry old weak horse”
I call hacks is almost a meme.
I’m accusing Gandalf of hacking the game so he can solo a balrog. Ah well. You win some you lose some. lol

Times are a-changin as the song goes.
In the old days, there was no way to make money besides selling an expansion because there were no cash shops. No one sold stuff. Now, companies are realizing there are other ways to support their products.
Every advantage you can get over the competition is one more reason to use your product. A price tag is a barrier to people trying your product, or returning to it.
A lot of people don’t go back to games because they have to pay more money to start up again. If Anet is one of the few games where that’s not the case, it’s an advantage.
I’m hoping it’s paid. I’d rather pay good money for an awesome expansion than get a mediocre expansion for free or cheap. This is a game I’m willing to put hundreds of hours into after all. I’d definitely pay for the extra content. The people who don’t want to pay for a expac at all can still play the game for free as they’ve always done. What are they going to do? Say “well I don’t want to pay for new content, so I’m gonna stop playing and get zero content forever!” Besides, I think the people who provide revenue for Anet (the gem store users) will be the ones willing to pay the expac anyway.
But you’re making the assumption that the price you pay for it will affect it’s quality and that’s not a good assumption.
I’ve played paid expansions for games that were horrible and played free expansions that were a lot of fun. The price doesn’t make the expansion better.
In fact, by the time they decide to charge for it or not, the work is already likely done. The quality of the expansion will not be higher if they charge for it.
I cant name even one free expansion for any game. Perhaps you could name a few?
On the other hand, the 2 extra payed campaigns from gw1 and the payed eotn expansion were awesome.PWI – All 6 Expansions have been free
Neverwinter – Expansions been free
PoE – Expacs Been Free
Terra – Latest Expac was free
RIFT – Lastest Expac freeI could name more but I don’t wanna be infracted.
I’m not impressed by any of those
Terra and rift were terrible. They could not ask money for it because no-one would pay for it. PWI, I never heard of that game but it seems to be free anyway?
PoE is also a free game, and not even an mmo. Good game but I would not compare this to something like guild wars.
TSW as far as I know also gives expansion content for free, and as I mentioned earlier EQ 2.
The thing is, it’s not unheard of. It happens.

For a start, most free to play games, generally add content expansions for free, including EQ 2, just off the top of my head.
EQ 2 is owned by Sony. Not exactly a tiny business.
I think profession flavor is the real reason they exist. This game is all about flavor really.
Those who focus on mechanics think that everyone do everything. But every profession to me is very very different.
I can melee on every single profession and each one feels completely different to me. Because I feel like a different character with each profession.
I’m hoping it’s paid. I’d rather pay good money for an awesome expansion than get a mediocre expansion for free or cheap. This is a game I’m willing to put hundreds of hours into after all. If by World PvP, you mean WvW, it’s quite active in Tier 1 servers. No idea what server you were on. There are plenty of people playing the game.
And subsequently any kind of release of major content would result in more players and thus more profits. People seem to very readily forget the gem store as a source of income, and believe that the vanilla game is the only thing that profits. I’ll guarantee you this; ANet has made a minimum of 2x its base game revenue from the gem store alone.
No i dont see how a gemstore can give enough money to pay for 300+ employees. Do you think the gemstore gives around 1.5 to 2 million a month?
I believe Guild Wars 2 is taking in about 8 million dollars a month, or seems to be if I remember the NcSoft quarterly report. I’m sure most of that is gem store sales. There just aren’t that many new sales, and more to the point, most of those new sales will likely be at $20.
I must say that is a lot more money that I thought they made with just gems.
Still I prefer the expansion to cost money, because in my eyes it sounds wrong not to ask money for such a big part of the game. It kinda makes the company look like amateurs not being able to ask money for a huge new part of the game.
And I have no problem paying the same as any of the gw1 stand alones/expansion.
Actually, there are big corporations that do give away content for free. It doesn’t make them amateurs.
The point is, the company is structured with the idea that the cash shop will be profitable enough to run the game.
Charging for an expansion creates a rift in the player base. If people aren’t willing or can’t afford to buy the expansion they can no longer play with their friends and guild mates.
It creates haves and have nots.
If everyone gets the new content free, it means the game loses no one on that one particular matter anyway.
One of the things that Anet found with Guild Wars 1 was that releasing Factions and Nightfall (admittedly stand alone games) divided the player base. They’re desperate not to do that.
That’s at least in part why the mega server was created. There were already empty zones. Anet directly said they didn’t want to create too many new zones before the megaserver technology was in place. They didn’t want to have what happened in just about every other MMO to happen here.
They didn’t want everyone crowding around in the new zones and the rest of the world feeling abandoned.
I don’t know why it would be considered amateur to make a decision based on good business. One would assume if they didn’t charge, it would be because it benefited them not to.
All items should be available at lower tiers, even if they could be a bit more expensive. As it stands, I’m not sure I will even be able to finish my ambrite weapons collection or craft Mawdrey.
Actually some of the recipes aren’t available until you hit tier 4.
I’ve been told that essentially the only three professions that are viable in the game are Warrior, Guardian, and Elementalist. Everything else is a nice to have instead of a need to have.
When you say that Warriors, for example, have more armor but that other professions can trait for armor. Can’t the Warriors trait for more protection anyhow even though they already get high defense in their armor?
I understand what you’re saying, but doesn’t it make it so that some classes can do the most important things in the game (deal damage and mitigate damage) just by virtue of their gear while others have to trait and suck it up?
I don’t understand the need or role of the different armor types in a game that says the trinity is gone.
Can someone please explain?
There are always going to be meta builds in any game. It happened in Guild Wars 1 and it’ll happen here. People tend to try to figure out the most efficient builds and people who only care about efficiency use those builds. I’ve never seen any MMO where this doesn’t happen.
However, there are also metas now that use thieves for speed runs, due to their stealth. And of course, we’re just talking about PvE here. PvP is a completely different story.
I might love roaming as a thief in WvW, but I’m not going to be as good in zergs. On the other hand, necros and eles can be very powerful in zergs, but you don’t want them in the front line.
You’re trying to simplify something that can’t be easily simplified, no matter what happens. And even if metas develope, that doesn’t actually mean they’re factually correct. Meta’s reflect what the community believes at a given point.
There are some great engineers that are very effective in this game, but there’s a skill ceiling for playing that profession. You have to be much better as an engineer to make the cut than a warrior.
But I’ve seen plenty of zerker warriors lying on the ground waiting for a rez. They follow the meta because they read forums or sites, but they’re not necessarily good enough to time the dodges or knowledegable enough to know when to back off.
It’s just not as simple as you’re making it.
You can run a dungeon with five light armor users, or five heavy armor users.
Every profession can do things, but they don’t all do them exactly the same. If that were the case, there would only be one profession.
But as an example, warriors have more armor than mesmers, but mesmers have a trait which gives them armor for each clone alive in the world. Warriors have more armor than rangers, but rangers can trait to get more dodges than warriors, thus avoiding damage.
Play the game, and you’ll see. The trinity roles really are gone. But there are still some differences between professions.
There’s two types of people in this thread. Those that are hyped, and those that tell everyone they’re not hyped. But really, deep down, they are. They really really are.
Hrm, maybe I’m too old for that, but I don’t buy the hype. Sorry. People just set themselves up for disappointment. Expect the worst and you’ll be positively surprised.
I’m not hyped either. I got more hyped when I was in my 20s. Now, in my 50s, I take things more in stride.
Sure it’ll probably be cool, but there are a lot of cool things in the world. I’ll probably enjoy the announcement, but I won’t likely stay up to watch it.
I’ll have to wait till I wake up the next morning to see what happens. If I were hyped, I’d stay up and watch it live.
There wouldn’t be a big deal about having legendaries like this if there were enough of each weapon type. If your main weapon is a long bow, then you’re very very limited in your selection.
I got the dreamer (the unicorn shooting short bow) because there’s very little more trolly than finishing someone in WvW or PvP by shooting them with a unicorn.
But for a lot of people, it’s just not what they’re looking for in a legendary weapon. And there’s no other bow to choose from.
It certainly needs help two days after a major patch. Just like last time. But then in a couple of days, people will start fading back in as they finish the new achievements.
The real question is: when has this item NOT been on sale?
Interesting question actually. I don’t know about Washington state where Anet is located but in California it is illegal to advertise something as a, “Sale,” price unless it has been priced at some normal price within the previous (I honestly don’t remember if its 30 or 90 days, but I can check my documentation when I return to work next week). This is why many companies will use different verbiage such as, “mark down,” or, “price reduction.”
Actually it wouldn’t fall under any state’s laws. What Anet is selling, for the purposes are law, are gems. You’re using gems, which is not a legal currency to buy other things, which means the retail laws for sales don’t apply.
I’m relatively certain this is the case.

When did this become another Vayne vs. the world thread? We know how he feels about the game, stop feeding him.
You have no clue how I feel about the game. Not even the beginnings of a concept. If you paid even slight attention to what I’ve been saying or what I’ve said, you’d know better.
Please stop picking fights! We get it!
Stop personally attacking me. I didn’t make a post and name you. If there’s anyone picking a fight here, it’s you. Don’t single me out or name me, because I’ll reply.
How silly is it that you’d talk about me and then accuse me of picking fights. lol
Seriously, you don’t have to reply to every post you disagree with and tell them how they’re wrong! Your posts end up sounding rude and pretentious and detract from the discussion at whole. Your opinion isn’t valued that much. That’s the last I’ll say about it, I’m done feeding you, and I hope one day soon others will also learn to stop.
I’m glad you know how much my opinion is valued. As long as people keep talking about stuff as fact that is merely their opinion, I’ll reply.
More to the point there are dozens and dozens of posts I disagree with that I never reply to. So I don’t reply to every post that I disagree with.
I’m glad you’re done “feeding me”, you should have kept your thoughts about me to yourself. If you see me doing something that breaks forum rules, feel free to report me to a moderator. If I’m not breaking forum rules, then your opinion has as much value as mine does.
I don’t know that there’ll be another novel. The stated purpose of the Guild Wars novels were to fill people in on the events that occurred between Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2.
I’ve not seen any other talk about more novels.
Hit me up in game, my guild often runs the Silverwastes. We might be able to get you into one of our maps.
The Silverwastes is always packed. Always. What a lot of people do is go from map to map to find one that’s almost full.
If you say in a map and go through the whole process, after the Pact Assault bar gets higher than about 60% you’ll start seeing people show up.
Tons of people doing this content. I did it 4 times yesterday.
The problem is, the OP starts on a fallacy…that there are only two types of players. It’s not only not true, but it ignores the fact that many people are in the middle who don’t care enough about either to make a decision about the game based on that criteria.
It’s not a ridiculous argument for one reason.
I played Guild Wars 1 for six years and never EVER had to upgrade my armor or weapons. That’s what this franchise was built around. Not a gear treadmill. Not upgrading gear constantly.
What’s ridiculous is thinking that because you want to upgrade all your gear, the Guild Wars playerbase is going to take that on the nose. It’s not how the game was laid out before many of us bought it, it’s not expected for the franchise, and even here on the forums today, there are posts about even raising the level cap being a deal breaker.
The reality is that this game was predicated on the idea of horizontal rather than vertical progression.
If Anet tries to add vertical progression, whether you think I’m reasonable or not, there’s going to be a war on these forums.
Even the addition of ascended gear caused an outcry that went far beyond what some would consider reasonable, but it happened for a reason.
It was a tear in the fabric from which the Guild Wars games were woven.
You didn’t Read my post correctly.
First of all, you need some sensibility – me writing that I would like some additional progression doesn’t mean I assume whole community would like that. On the contrary, I am showing you the opposite side of the coin.
Secondly, you saying that there are people who dislike traditional gear treadmill is funny because everybody knows that. It’s also a common knowledge that there are people who like grinding (although I presume they are a miniscule part of gw2 community, if even there) and some moderate people, like me, who enjoy improving their characters’ power levels (those surely exist in the community, I know many).
Then, you move on to saying that an introduction of some additional progression would start a war on the forums. Well, I thought of all people you’d understand that forums represent just a small part of the game’s community and cannot stay in the way of improving the game overall.
Another problem is you thinking inside the box when talking about progression. If there was an expansion providing amazing repeatable gameplay in all game modes making it possible to progress through some additional gear system multiple times or on multiple characters at once it could work and I think less people would be against that.
Finally, you didn’t understand the message I tried to send with my post. I tried to gently say that you made 23 characters, grinded them to max gear and now will block anything that works against your perfect world. Well, let me bring it to you -this is life, the more you have the more you have to pay attention to it. And please, telling that gw2 was built on ‘no vertical progression’ marketing is just not true. It was built on ‘no grind’ principal, which arguably wasn’t preserved anyways.
Not trying to start a flame war, but hypocrisy is strong in this one.
The stuff you’re asking for would kitten off enough people to make it dangerous to do whether I find it annoying or not.
You think I’m the only altoholic in this game? Or the only one against vertical progression. Obviously not.
So cut the condescending stuff out of your post and answer me in good faith.
Because right now all we have is you basically in favor of vertical progression, me against it and the question hanging about what most people would want.
A question neither of us can answer.
I answered how I’d feel about having to upgrade, even over time, all my characters.
I play this game very much the way I play Guild Wars 1. I clearly have a right to state, for me, what would annoy me. I didn’t talk for the masses.
Your response to me, in both cases, is not only inappropriate. but doesn’t even answer my argument.
(edited by Vayne.8563)
It’ll make a difference to those of us in one of the groups if that group is targeted. If the other group isn’t happy, they can find a game that will make them happy, because obviously this game is being aimed toward the group that’s happy.
It’ll make a difference because disenfranchised people who want this game to be something Anet doesn’t want it to be will have some kind of answer. And there’ll be enough people left, probably of either type, to keep the game going.
The playerbase is divided. Why shouldn’t one side or the other be happy?
Anet will never please everyone.
I love how dynamic the boss fights in FF14 and punishing. All the bosses have patterns, if you mess up just one thing either you got one shot or your party got wiped out. It’s incredible fun, also all big boss fights have hard and extreme versions to provide even more challenge.
Also the fan service is great in FF14, they bring all the lovely stuff from previous FF titles, in February they are bringing “Triple Triad” mini game and casino stuff! Gosh! I love Triple Triad.
I wish we’ll get permanent SAB as well ;_; Fun > Grinding for me.
I don’t know why anyone finds one shot or your party gets wiped out fun. I find that sort of thing frustrating.
I suspect (though I can’t prove) the majority of people would find it frustrating as well.
I’m less concerned about it being an expansion and more concerned about what an expansion might bring to the table.
Let’s say that the level cap goes up. That may or may not be a problem for me, depending on how it’s handled. But I have 23 80s, all in max level gear.
If I have to gear them all up again, that’s not going to be fun.
Even if gearing them up again is the case, I can’t see a reason why anyone like you would have to gear 23 characters immediately. I mean, come on, you have to realize yourself how ridiculous this argument is. It’s not like you’ll have to play all of them at once or something.
You are an alt-savy person with a lot of time to put into this game, make 23 characters for some reason and then expect to be done for life? I mean a person who struggles to exp and gear one character may be afraid of future progress if it lands with an expansion, not a person with an army of finished toons.
Also, additional progression would be a blast for me because I only play two characters, max them out and that’s how the story goes.
It’s not a ridiculous argument for one reason.

I can’t wait to see all the whining when they announce the level cap increase. They said if they ever did an expansion they would increase the level cap, but people seem to always just put their fingers in their ears and hum when it is brought up…
Proof?
Eric Flannum did say it in an interview, but Id’ have no idea how to go about looking for it. What I believe he said is that they’d like to raise the level cap.
I can’t wait to see all the whining when they announce the level cap increase. They said if they ever did an expansion they would increase the level cap, but people seem to always just put their fingers in their ears and hum when it is brought up…
I’m on the fence with this. What I don’t want is to see the ascended armor and weapons I have go to waste. I don’t want to grind for more weapons with higher stats.
But what if they had a token every five levels that you could get relatively easily that upgraded your gear easily and painlessly.
Then I wouldn’t care if there was a level cap increase or not.
Gratz!
(prepare to be lynched lol).
To Vyne: i dont really care how many years you played MMO. an how you like this game that much all these years. this only your opinion. and how other players say how good the Living Story is.
i ONLY trust what i can see in the game. PLAYER LOSING.
well.. IF Anet Staff saying we are doing really well. player number are twice. and Keep Increasing. thats find. not my businesses. at the end of day this only a game.
well i only hope this game can long last.
by now this what i though and most of left players have the same though…. BORING BORINGif you living in 90s Think about Noka Dynasty back then compare today… why is fallen??? a good company always 24 hrs in battle mind. living in your Victory Only lead you to the end of road. simple is that.
If you’d stop making up stuff and just say what you feel, you’d come across better. You have no idea if this game is losing players or not. No one does, except Anet. Period.
Why not just say what you want, instead of claiming that if they don’t the game will die.
Because you’re probably wrong in that.
The thing is, people aren’t mad about what we’re getting. They’re mad that it’s all that we’re getting. Or most of it. Now that there’s talk of an expansion, suddenly people aren’t mad anymore.
It’s like when you’re married and your wife yells at you for something you did four years ago because she’s mad about something else.

If you’re doing them on one character, the traits aren’t a huge deal. If you have a lot of alts, it can get tiresome or expensive in gold and skill points.
People who have one or two characters do have some inconvenience. Characters made before April 15 don’t have to worry about it at all.
Ummm, relax and expect less. If you get too hyped you’ll be disappointed for sure.
I’m just curious. Why do people keep making posts like this?
It’s… dreary and depressing.
Anet ran GW 1 for years. Years. That game system not so far apart from GW 2 in the way Anet makes their money. Breaking all this down in to detail is certainly something I have never given any thought to when I play this game and I am pretty sure many others never gave thought to it either.
Why?
Cause we’re too busy enjoying the game.
But on a regular basis I come here to see someone posting a economic threat about all the things they dislike about the way Anet runs this game.
I don’t get it.
It’s a game. Enjoy it.
From my personal experience in 14 years of MMOs, if any one particular player can not be pleased, no matter what the game company producers, they never sit in one spot for long. I even have several friends in GW 2 that cut in and out of my life cause when they get bored, they move on to another game, yet eventually, they always return.
I see no evidence that ArenaNet is losing players so rapidly that it is threatening the longevity of this game.
For GW 2 and it’s elder: GW 1 being a MMO to play with no monthly fees, I think this game is fantastic. I couldn’t ask for anything more than that. Any money that I do sink into this game is only sunk into it by choice, not by force.
I really wish some people would stop holding ridiculously high standards on their chosen MMOs. To say it’s redundant would be a severe understatement.
Guild Wars 1 didn’t have an official forum. That makes a huge difference.
