Tbh I’m just happy rev is getting an elite spec that actually requires skill, herald was BS. All passive boon spam , get out of jail free heal, the perfect combo for unskilled players!
Base rev is where it’s at, if you think it sucks then you just don’t know how to play the class. And this seems like it follows the same design principles as base rev. Super excited for it.
They really should add some flavour to the scepter auto. All it does is damage, and not that great at it to begin with. Even having it add a small amount of bleeding or vuln or something.
Was testing some builds with water attuenement and noticed that soothing mist was healing for two seconds and missing the third. The second soothing mist is reapplied it doesn’t heal for some reason. Switching out of water so that it just stays on you for a few seconds instead of being reapplied makes it function properly.
Should be looked at since it’s a 33% healing loss if you stay on water attunement
Sword and hammer are both pure damage weapons so I would say go full berserker. Shield isn’t really a damage weapon, axe would probably be more useful.
The stances would have to be herald for sure (as of now, dunno when renegade comes out) and depending on your game mode, shiro or jalis
As Malthurius pointed out, yes, it’s a personal buff. However a pretty big one. People seem to be focusing on Renegade being condi but think about a devastation+renegade combination. You’d be getting Kalla’s fervor (300 ferocity/20%crit dmg), Assassin’s presence (150 ferocity/10% crit dmg) + ferocious strikes (150 ferocity/10%crit dmg) or vicious laceration (10% base dmg)
considering rev is one of the classes with easiest crit cap, ferocious strikes and vicious laceration are basically identical (seriously anet, can you look at these traits??)
but in any case that’s a total of 40% crit dmg boost, and that’s without knowing any of the other renegade traits.
If any of the traits allows for kalla’s fervor to stack on allies, this could be a massive boost for power revenants as well. Add that to the fact that you can also help condi clases with a 20% damage boost and….well, yeah, I believe it’s a very powerful offensive support
Have you seen the cost of the Kalla skills as well? For what they do they’re incredibly costly. Hopefully still a work in progress.
Yeah, I was looking at those. It’s insane. Are we really going to ever use them? They are such a huge energy drain. Between those F2-F3 skills plus the utility energy cost….way too much energy is being used. How are we going to have any energy to even use our weapons? I see us either not using these abilities so we can use our weapons or using the non-weapon skills/utilities and then basically just auto attacking because we’ll never have energy to do anything else.
Unless, this new traitline gives us some energy regen mechanic. That would be very much needed. Guess we just have to wait and see. Maybe it will work out.
I don’t think this will be a problem. Weapon skills are fairly cheap, except for the situational ones like stuns and control, as long as you don’t have upkeep, your energy regenerates more than quickly enough.
Also, the f2-f4 skills are there no matter what your legend is, so you can abuse the energy reset from legend swapping to cast them in either legend stance; so if you need to use them, they’re a swap away.
Considering the impact the warband members are likely to have and the fact they persist for 6 seconds, their energy cost seems acceptable to me. The elite with it’s 9 upkeep seems pretty steep though, then again, the elite seems really powerful for group sustain/support and a flat increase to damage.
Something many people have missed from the footage we’ve seen is the Kalla elite skill is a fire field that seems to last as long as you have the summon up. This doesn’t appear on the tooltip so it might be a trait, but I’ve looked at the footage quite a few times and there were definitely some burning finishers there.
That means while you have that skill active up to 5 players will be doing extra damage from lifesteal (quite a lot actually), healing, as well as helping grant might with blast finishers
I havent gotten to Nevermore 4 yet, but I’m currently 2 minutes away from finishing the ingame night at the ascalonian settlement and no raven showed up. Is this bugged or am I missing something?

Increased condition damage per condition on a foe. Like 2% increased condi damage per diferent condition.
And that is ACTUAL condition damge, not the stat. Kinda like rangers doing more poison damage. Right now we have a trait that increases damage per condition on us but it doesnt make much sense since that was made back when Mallyx was all about hogging conditions on yourself. And most likely someone running mallyx is using a condition build as well, which doesnt really benefit from physical damage increase.
I suggest making the trait either poison or confusion based, since revenants have a poison duration related trait with only ONE single poison stack application in their entire weapon and utility kitten nal. Honestly that’s just plain wrong. Something like chilling an enemy poisons them so that frigid blitz, precision strike and unyielding anguish get some more use.

There’s an FAQ coming up in a while, but you can force it to stay on the 32-bit client by adding -32 to the command line.
That said, I’d like to know why it crashes on startup for you. The vast majority of the crashes in 64-bit on launch right now appear to be caused by other software. As a concrete example, Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware has been known to cause GW2 client crashes for a long time.
Thanks. Apparently it doesn’t quite crash, it just whitescreens for a really long time when loading character select now for some reason. Why though, I’m not sure as I dont have said Ad-Aware.

Dude, try spending 4 hours playing PvP and not winning a game because for some reason, there are people still out there who don’t know how PvP works. they run off doing there own thing and run like lambs to the slaughter in to 1 vs 3 fights. I can not for the love of anything move out of Emerald division tie 2. the most I had was 4 pips, then just loss after loss. and for some reason I’m going up Vs every tie above me, and my team consists of emeralds and ambers.
The whole match making system is horrible, really kittening horrible. We all knew this was a disaster from the jump, and I hope ANet know that too.
Dont talk to me about lose streaks. At least you cant lose tiers. Confort yourself with that.

There’s no option when reporting and reporting for botting isnt gonna do anything. I just lost two matches where two different people decided to afk. First one we had triple decap and 200 point advantadge. Some guy just decides to throw the match and we lose everything on a 4v5. Second one another rev in my team decides he’s done with the match at 200 point, we lost 2 pips for it.
I’m sick of this kitten happening in pvp all the time because there’s literaly nothing you can do. Reporting doesnt do crap because they’re not gonna get banned for one offense, but meanwhile I have to waste my time getting my points back. The worst part is they just stay on spawn using skills so they dont even count as afk, making the rest of the team lose EVEN MORE points at their expense
If you want an esports game go play an esports game not an mmo

This is literaly everything that’s wrong with this game’s PvP. People are already telling you this is gonna be broken, same reason you didn’t put Dire in when it came around. But you dont care, you do it anyway. You put it in the game knowing it’s gonna be broken.
That’s exactly how this game is balanced and that’s exacly why this season has been so laughable. With broken specs like chronos dominating the entire scene, instead of balancing properly before the season.
Fun fact. The male charr player character can be homosexual (or at least hit on other charr males) in the personal story. In one of the early charr story missions “Rage supression” there’s this npc who you can compliment and he’ll get embarassed. Mind you, this dialogue is identical wether you play a male or female, but it’s still fun to hit on other fellow fuzzballs nonetheless, specially considering said NPC’s name is Strodum Crush maw

Just got matched against a full premade with 2 diamonds in it on a full random team.
I agree and find it contradictory that Anet will provide immunity to the top players but threaten to ban the rest when exploiting is occurring. Pro gamers in GW2 are a model to the community as in any other game. When they are using exploits and you let it slide while banning the average players because the MMR system tries to keep them at 50/50 w/l in leagues where you need streaks to progress just doesn’t make sense.
Why ban the lowly players? Why not start by banning the top players that are exploiting to make an example of how strongly you stand by your Terms/Rules?
Because if they banned their pro players their Espors dream would sink into the bottom of the ocean

My win ratio before the league was somewhere around 60%. Not amazing, but good overall.
Since the league started my win ratio has tanked to probably around 20%. With very common lose streaks of like 14 loses to 1 win. My match hystory is littered with Defeats and no matter what I do, how I change my builds, it doesn’t seem to make any difference. I havent made any progress in the league for 2 days. I solo qued, I duo ,trio qued and even full guild teams. Always get stomped (as a team, not just individually). And apparently these streaks are pretty common since the league started for many other people.
There has to be something wrong going on or I just plain dont understand. Even if I were to miraculously win a couple matches I would lose all my progress in the subsequent ones anyway.
If all you gotta say is get better, dont even bother replying. The reason I’m posting this is because this was NOT happening before the league started.

My issue with the league system is when you win one game and lose the next one. That one loss wipes away your progress, unless you got 2 pips for that one win.
I would like it better if by default you got 2 pips when you win and lost 1 pip when you lose. For me, I get mostly win-lose-win-lose with occasional win or lose streaks that have some 3-5 wins or losses in a row so unless I get 2 pips for a win most of my games don’t get me anywhere.
This is what any sensible person would’ve made the system to be like. But no, in a game where your odds are basically the same as tossing a coint, of course making wins count the same as loses is totally a brilliant idea.
This absolutely disgusting reward is the only reward in the game where you can actually lose all your progress towards in a matter of minutes.
You can get the legendary fractal backpiece by playing fractals and you will eventually get it.
You could play pvp for a year straight and have absolutely no guaranteed that you’ll get this because of absolutely kittened pip system. In a game where your odds of wining and losing are 50/50 NEVER should a loss count exactly the same as a win. There’s no progression, just a constant push and pull until you miraculously get a lucky 5 win streak. But you are just as likely or even more to lose all your progress in just two matches. Which is even worsened by your personal progress depending on others.
This is the most “one step forward two steps backs” systems I have ever seen in a videogame and it’s absolutely disgusting. Even if I liked pvp this would still rile me up.
I cannot even imagine the amount of anguer people are gonna go through if they somehow manage to get to ruby

A DH alone isn’t a problem at all, they can be annoying. But give him a chrono or tempest elem, and see they winning the TF’s or giving you real hardtimes.
What I hate the most is => getting wombo-combo-d by a chrono ult+DH’s invisible traps… + the daze every 0.1s. Yeah
On my Rev current build, I don’t have any stab.. so I would really be glad if I could see the “Dragon’s Maw” limit zones… and if it would be little bigger so it let’s little counter play and allows me to dodge inside the cercle/barrier.
This is pretty much the problem with traps, they peel your stability with the dazes and then the invisible wards will keep knocking you over and over. They REALLY need to adjust culling on those things. Both dragon’s maw and Hunter’s ward are currently invisible after they trigger.
Also their bow symbol shows up as an ally combo field for some reason
I had a run of 12 consecutive losses today and before I finally got my second win of the day, I had won 1/15 games. Can anyone beat that?
Seriously though, I don’t know if this is me being matched up with pre made teams all the time or me being literally the worst player in the game but it looks like I will never progress past emerald league without getting a decent team which is a shame in my opinion.
Yesterday I was emerald tier 1, with two pips.
After a full day of pvping I am emerald tier 1, with one pip.
I’ve also had a losing streak of like 8 matches. My win rate since emerald started is somewhere around 10%, most of which I was the top player on the team.
I want PvE rewards without ever setting foot in PvE too.

Any little bit you do in pve can count towards progression for the Fractal wings.
Anything you do in pvp doesn’t matter jack kitten because in one match you could lose all the progress you’ve made.
Whoever thought this league system where rank 50s get matched against rank 80s can go get fired because honestly this is the most disgusting experience I’ve had in gw2 to date

I’m pretty sure it was mentioned during the legendary PoI that the gift of fortune would have its own recipe so it could be salvaged to recover the mats, so that any player who had crafted it could get them back for mystic tribute. However this doesn’t seem to be in place yet? Did they forget it or am I missing something?
So you’re saying your ability to defeat the boss relied on your skills instead of your gear? Isn’t that what gw2 has always been about?

I’ve been tanking on necro for the past couple days and never have I lost aggro from the boss when others were ressing. I recomend running death magic for tanking, more toughness per minion as well as per condi inflicted. You wont even need toughness on your gear.
I think the only reason the enrage timer exists is precisely so “elite” guilds can’t complain about other groups beating their precious content with slightly less offensive gear.
I also think the enrage timer is only incentivizing the toxic meta we all know about.
That said, I also dislike the pulsing aoe the boss has simply to force you to bring someone to heal. Not a fan of that either.
The rest is brillinat, though.The enrage timer exists to make the mechanics more difficult. This fight would be a fairly simple tank and spank encounter without it. My group saw significant dps improvements as we mastered each mechanic last night, reaching phase two with 6:20 remaining after a near-flawless execution of phase one. Without good execution of phase one, we could always bring the boss to phase two without having members of the group go fully down, but with much less time remaining on the timer. If there was no timer, our mistakes would have much less impact on our success in the encounter. tl;dr the timer is necessary to provide challenge which is exactly what we asked for.
I’d also like to point out that it’s interesting you think the zerker meta is being enforced, while also pointing out the need to bring a class that’s specifically not a zerker: a healer. Suddenly the need for a dedicated tank and healer is in the meta. Of course you’re always going to need zerkers. The zerker meta was about the entire group being zerker. Getting rid of the zerker meta in no way means getting rid of zerker builds, it means making other builds viable/required in addition to zerker builds and that’s exactly what we’re seeing.
I’m not exactly sure what pulsing aoe you’re talking about either because this boss doesn’t have any sort of guaranteed pulsing aoe mechanic. If you’re having trouble figuring out the mechanics, videos and written guides are popping up all over the place and I’d recommend giving those a look. Since Hot came out I crashed maybe 3 times in 2 weeks.
Since yesterday’s patch I’ve already crashed 6 times, all of them out of memory. Checking my process manager GW2 was hitting 3gigs of memory and over.
I did download the 64 bit client, but it doesn’t even launch. It white screens when loading character select.

Well, look at it this way. Revenant’s sword auto attack is the highest damaging auto chain currently, on a class that has on demand quickness and basically perma fury no less.
UA is fine, the sword auto should have the damage reduced a bit though. I mean yes, I hate getting killed by UA but that’s just what it is, a skill made two wreck people in 1v1. It should NOT cleave.
The sword auto has such high damage that I find absolutely no situation in which UA is worth using in a pve environment. Even if it completes the full cast (which it often doesn’t because lol I hit a wall or rock that just happened to be there) it still feels like a dps loss compared to the auto attack.Not everyone uses Shiro. Obal has said UA is a damage increase over auto when not under the effects of quickness.

The only organization this event needs is to get as many people as possible involved in the event, split evenly into teams, and make sure people know the mapechanocs of their lane. Beyond that, there is no more coordination required than the breach in Silverwastes.
There is very little margin for error, but no amount of coordination will actually change that.

This is the most logical solution that has been posted time and time again and it should’ve been like that from the start.
And aside from all the complaints you listed it’s still been completed by a pug group.
You say waypoints are too far, when in fact it’s faster to waypoint to the respective lane camp and take the wallow back to your lane landing you pretty much in the middle.
Just the fact you seemed to not have known that shows people still do not know the fight in its entirety.

This hasn’t been completed by pugs and you know you’re just lying to prove a point you dont have. Just because there are a few random players (which is always bound to happen) in a map that organized by a huge guild which is communicating via voice chat doesn’t mean it’s a “pug group”.
I also like how you just completely dismissed a whole paragraph of problems I bothered to list with the event simply because you think I dont know about the nuhoc wallows. And then you made a topic on this forum complaining about players acted entitled. Wow. That’s sad.
I love how I often get comments about flawed design decisions taken down because they’re apparently not constructive to whoever is moderating this, but topics complaining about players complaining are totally fine.
It’s funny because if all these kinda complains people are having were feedback given during a beta period people would just go “relax, it’s a beta they’ll change it”, but because these maps didn’t have any beta time, something poorly designed is considered challenging.
It’s obvious there is map issues in terms of taxing people in and the player limit hitting full way too early but I don’t understand why some people fee so entitled that it has to be nerfed/ expecting to have it down already in a non guild group.
Some things are meant to be hard to get, some things you actually have to LEARN the mechanics for.
It’s been done by a pre planned pug group once before and it can be done again, if you’re calling nerfs you’re everything that’s wrong with the faceroll content we’ve received in the past.

Except, not really. Just because some very select groups of people have managed to pull it of it doesn’t mean it’s okay. It’s undeniable that his event is flawed, a boss shouldn’t encourage you to NOT do something with their mechanics (break bar). Nuhoc lane respawn rate is too low, SCAR lane’s break bar window is barely 2 seconds long, waypoints are way too distant, the event is way too unforgiving with absolutely no room for mistake in other lanes. Usually in similar events, a failure in one of the lanes still has a grace period on others. This is not the case, often ending in “blaming others for my own failure”, as well as feeling you’ve been robbed of your time. Which is another point, way too long of a respawn timer, making it a huge investment. These events SHOULD be able to be triggered by guilds, just like teq and jungle wurm. Also, rewards are garbage unless you’re doing it for the revenant collection which only incentivices a “done and gone” mentality. And the boss just plain out has too much health. We were supposed to be done with the zerker meta and this is honestly the biggest advocate for it currently in the game.
Tangled depths is a horrible map, period.
