Whenever someone asks for a nerf everyone just assumes they’re QQing about it because they’ve been killed by it. Yes, I have been killed by it a couple times, but I’ve been playing revenant since the first beta, and as a revenant user myself I’ve always said since then the damage on that skill was way too much. Not because I got hit by it but because I felt I myself was doing way too much damage.

So this just happened. The HP east of Teku Nuhoc. Fly there, go up the annoyingly steep insides of a dead tree. Two veterans, a mushroom king and a queen.
I kill the king without much trouble, just range it. Queen gives me more of a challenge with her sporelings, but I get through it. Okay now I just gotta channel this hero point.

Nope, two more mushrooms spawn, I get knocked down and isntantly hit by two consecutive 9k hits. From a friggin regular mob, not even a vet.
Took away my will to play the game for the rest of the day.

Seriously, look at those god kitten numbers kitten . How is it okay for a stupid mushroom to hit for 9k each.

CoR is 100% too strong. Its carrying bad revs atm and they are trying with their all to keep it from getting nerfed.

Or 100% as it should be and punishing bad players?
I honestly don’t find a problem with it other than the whole energy/CD.

It’s not a matter of skill if it can be used on a 2 sec CD. You’re gonna get hit eventually

Most broken skill in WvW at the moment. But you know, I should ignore everything else and save my dodges for this only.

The problem with that is Revenant has some funky damage traits. What you are probably looking at is with 50% bonus damage after a negated attack, among other things. That trait is on a 15 second cooldown, but people like to put up pictures or give reports of massive damage numbers from a skill with a 2 second cooldown and cry foul. Not to mention might, vulnerability, etc. Don’t get me wrong, it is a strong ability, but in many cases, what people report in posts like this are the edge cases…"perfect storm" type of scenarios.

Yeah, I agree. I do think that CoR damage is kind of crazy, but there’s no way that it would hit for 12k against a target with 3k armor unless there was a very unique set of circumstances.

I was running a tanky druid, 3’2k toughness, and I got hit by a 11k gun flame.

If a sniper downs you, the trail they leave behind will finish you. Stalkers will hit for like 15k multiple times during their flurry attacks, and frogs will shoot poison aoes on your corpse.

This further highlights a major balance flaw in the game, that a handlful of classes can leave deathfields, while most are just insta-killed by them. They really should do a pass on the downed state and make sure that every class gets a “move out of the fire” ability," and that each ability is tuned to have a solid use in PvE, rather than just being there to frustrate stomps (I’m looking at you, Thief stealth).

Agreed. Admittedly I usually play glassy builds, so I do go down alot. But still, mistform is a god-sent. When I get downed on guardian, that’s it, I’m dead.

It IS usually the mordrem version of the frogs, yes. Normal frogs I can see in stealth, but mordrem frogs apparently I can’t for some reason.

I agree, it could use some condis, on skill 2 as well. 3 could be an aoe blind where you land, 4 could have some bleeds.

I was solo defending one of those ordinance tower construction events in VB the other day on my mesmer. Since I was alone, the only mobs attacking were a vet frog thumper and two Coztic shadowleapers. This should have been doable, and it was…sorta. The problem is that when I attacked them I would continually see ’MISS, MISS, MISS, EVADE, EVADE, EVADE" over and over again and I simply could not hit them many times. I kept getting shot up and having to run away to restart the fight again and again until I finally finished the event. This was intensely frustrating and the mechanics felt really cheezy.

This, honestly is absolute BS. It’s just cheap and has zero counter. It’s a simple passive effect you have no control on. It’s like those annoying mobs in Caudecus’ Manor that just NOPE and dont let you kill them.
There’s actually more examples of this. In EotM there’s those trolls with warior’s defiant stance which has no CD, and they can often spam it one after the other. These kinds of mechanics NEED a CD for god’s sake.

Is this mastery not supposed to work on some mobs? I’ve encountered a bunch of mobs who can stealth from me even though I have the mastery. This seems to be arbitrary, and I have no clue on how to tell which ones can and cannot stealth. I’ve had mordrem shadowleapers and stalkers stealth and still be able to see them, but others disappear completely.

I think they should tone down the damage on most mobs honestly. Yes, in a vaccum they all have obvious tells and counters, but that’s not the point. Very rarely are you fighting alone against a lone mob. It’s about the events. There’s just damage flying everywhere, from snipers to mushrooms to even the mordrem wolves with ridiculously huge hitboxes for how small they are. I just get constantly hit by random 10k+ hits that basically one shot me. It’s not a matter of skill anymore.

I think it’s one of the major flaws in gw2’s design. Because such a thing as downed state exists, they can allow themselves to make all mobs’ attacks basically one or two shot you since “someone else can pick you up”. But the reality is, in the jungle, most mobs will down you and attack you in some way that prevents you from getting back up. If a sniper downs you, the trail they leave behind will finish you. I’d also like to point out that I am disgusted at how they made guardians absolute garbage in this expansion unless they’re running DH. Basically everything a guardian has as a defense is countered by the new mobs. Blocks are useless because most mobs hit multiple times (still hitting for anywhere near 8k or more) which will strip you of your aegis and still hit you. And let’s not even get started on how useless reflects are.
I dont understand the point of designing mechanics if for the sake of making something hard you’re gonna make every single mob ignore said mechanics. That’s just plain unfair.

I cannot for the life of me understand how they thought putting personal beneficial items as a requirement for guild halls. Not only are you making players have to chose their own benefit over someone else’s, but for pvp only players you’re basically gimping all their bonus chests making their dailies meaningless.

That music plays along with the “Player instrument volume” option in your sound options. Turn it all the way down and you wont hear it, neither will you hear annoying people playing the same note endlessly.

I agree, those stats are not optimal in any way for a thief or a DD I don’t see why players shouldn’t be able to choose their stats as long as it falls within the set types.

Now on a side note, what is this Ascended Elite Weapon ? Where do we get/earn this, I wasn’t aware of such a thing.

All the elite specs have unique skins, first a weapon when you start training, and then an armor when you finish.
Getting the first weapon will start a collection to “upgrade” that weapon into an ascended version, the one’s we’ve been seeing in the elite spec reveals, like the reaper’s greatsword or the chronomancer’s shield.
Actually, those last two are the initial weapon. All the ascended weapons have an actual name. For reaper being Dark Harvest, and chrono’s shield being Horologicus.

I’m confused, i thought Magus Falls map completion was bugged so unable to complete, hence not getting the reward that is required to obtain the Ascended Specialization Weapon. Or is this bug just seems to be affecting a few like me.

the bug hit only those who had 100% of map finished before expac hit

although in todays patch notes there is a shady line of “fixed bug affecting map completion” whichever bug they mean….

well you could always switch stats in the mystic forge mate.

You can put Bo in the forge, but I didn’t check if the stat swap recipe works yet. Still, it’s unnecessary padding to get what you actually want and should have been on there from the start.

I just finished Bo and there’s only Celestial, marauder and minstrel’s.
Worked pretty hard for this, I’d like if I could actually select the stats I want :/ Can we please give these weapons all the stat combinations so we can chose something useful for such a weapon.

I’m not a fan of this honestly. Yes while it’s mathematically better, it lost the executioner theme. I think each condition should bring something unique in the way they damage. Now it’s just a simple damage tick with no thinking behind it.

Getting crystalline ore is absolutely attrocious. I can get at best 10 in a DS run, which is a 2 hour long event.
And you need it for every single one of the elite spec weapons x.x

Dont get me wrong, I love DS and I have a lot of fun doing it, but the crystalline ore is definitely a farm if I ever saw one. I dont think 10 ores for a 2 hour investment is anywhere enough.

Also, the vendor only being accessible at the end is…not good.

This really needs some bumping. There’s definitely something wrong with this event. Either the scaling is atrociously bad or the break bars are basically unbreakable. In SCAR late the bar was only active for probably less than 2 seconds. Managed to get a Jade winds in and that took like 2% of his bar.
Forget about CC over time like taunt or fear now

Oh… Glad I was not the only one… Posted this just a while ago on reddit:

Honestly, when I sum up my overall ratings of Zhaitan and Mordremoth fights, it’s a tie. Why? Because Zhaitan was (more or less, as much as a video game can deliver) a scary epic dragon and the “fight” was epic; the mechanics and my contribution – eh, not so much.

But when I look at Mordremoth, all I see is an overfed jungle potato; despite the nice fight mechanics and amazing atmosphere and those sylvari racial moments, I just couldn’t take this fight seriously because of his looks, which reminded me of some small, chubby, chibi-style pokemons and not epic dragons at all.

Yes, I understand it is an “avatar” and “everything” was Mordremoth (maybe at least having it named “Avatar of…” and not “Mordremoth” could help?) But seriously, what was the problem? We had epic cutscenes with awesome vine dragon-like creatures and tall Mordrem Guards, we had Shadow of the Salad; if Mordy is “everything”, it could even be a vined shapeshifter growing from the platform (as in the trailer); the Avatar of The Pale Tree is slender and not “funny” – so what was the reason we got some Chinese money frog/humanoid drake/high-poly pokemon for the final boss?

I can live with the fact that we killed Mordremoth – even though I do hope it was not a “rushed story” but just the “beginning” of the true fight with Mordremoth who let us think we defeated it – but those looks… I just cannot take the whole story even remotely seriously, even with it being just a video game and all.

I do hope they redesign the looks of this boss… Just make it more slender, fix the proportions – and even this should work. The way it is now… eeewh.

They’re way too sparse, and most of them spawn after the meta event. You’ll have to wander around the whole map holding your “show enemy names” key for a while. After the last meta I did I think I found 4 or 5 tops.

Revenant underwater is, honestly, the first time I’d call something in gw2 completely kitten and mediocre. It’s completely unacceptable that going underwater will make you (potentially) lose absolutely all your utilities. This needs to be fixed URGENTLY.

To add to the feedback: Unyelding anguish underwater still uses the old version applying condis to yourself and displacing enemies.

Not sure if anyone reported this but going into the PvP lobby removes all bosters, even birthday boosters. I just lost 20 hours of boosting because of this so be careful.

This shouldn’t be happening in the lobby. Specially considering the birthday booster increases pvp reward track gain, makes no sense.

The mist weapon sets

Probably through herald unlock. As we know it has skins at the end of it.

Herald skins are a shoulder that looks like a dragon head and the crystal shield.
The mist weapons are called Mistward, same as the armor, so it’s likely they’ll be part of the same collection.

Herald shiro is god-tier OP and I haven’t seen any notes for its nerfs prior to release. it will either get smacked down in the new patch notes, or we’ll see it in the top tier meta comps along with the chrono for the first pvp season.

I destroyed every single shiro revenant. I dont get why people have such a bone for shiro honestly. Being a bit more conservative and getting some defense will easily counter them. I found glint/mallyx way stronger by far

See I never thought about axe mainhand because I always thought it’d be similar to ranger. But now that you mention dual wielding axes, it’d be cool if mainhand axe worked kinda like guardian staff, attacking in a cone but applying condis instead, with some sort of mist scar effect or something like the offhand.

I’m concerned about the order you unlock stuff. Specifically, having the elite spec specific skins in the trait line you use to unlock skills. Those should all be bunched up at the end of the traitline otherwise having multiple characters of the same profession would end up spending points to unlock skins you already have and dont need, but simply are on the way to get your traits.

These two traits are way too similar honestly, I think they should be changed. They’re both increasing damage by 10% in the end, and while you could use ferocious strikes with mace instead of sword, it’s basically meant for power weapons which we only have one main hand of.

Remember you can also get armor and trinkets out of those boxes, that’s why you’d want to go for a heavy armor chest so either warrior and guardian.

The amount of attention to detail on all the possible exceptions makes me really happy. Kudos for the amazing job Joel, you deserve the praise!
I also wanna point out that this control scheme is really gonna benefit classes with piercing projectiles, as tab targetting tends to target the closest enemies, and with piercing projectiles you kinda wanna be aiming at the backline, so this is also great

bound by NDA? Why even post this? Just to let everyone know they were passed over for something they never had a fair shot at being considered for?

Why? For transparency and as a means of communication, which I think we all agree is a good thing.

Too, I see some concerns about claims of world firsts. ArenaNet doesn’t track, verify, record, or reward world firsts. But making public that certain guilds were involved in testing seems appropriate and relevant in that context, does it not?

I have to say I don’t agree with the last statement. This post essentially sounds like “Neener neener, look what these guys are playing and you aren’t”. As Mireles put it, it’s not like the rest of the community had a shot at it to begin with.

On a personal note, I don’t think these kind of guilds should be the standard to base raid difficulty on. I absolutely DON’T want any content that is only beat by stacking as many damage multipliers as possible, which is what these guilds seem to only be capable of doing. It’s boring, and it only incentivizes more “berserker meta” playstyles.

Yeah I agree that Glint kinda throws the whole class’ balance off the window. She just has too much. It’s also the legend with by far the easiest energy management.

Sounds like the argument is glint is too well made so it needs nerfs to fall in line better with its mediocre cousins. Communists tried that already; doesn’t work :P

No, it’s more like Glint is in essence just like any other profession’s utilities which deals with cooldowns instead of energy. I feel like it kinda takes away from what the revenant is supposed to be while also giving the player a massive toolset with virtually no drawback, to the point where it’s mandatory to take it.
