No wonder there are so many stories of people quitting the game after getting a Legendary…

I thought about it for a long time. To be honest, had I not been obligated to play with Team Legacy I probably would have quit. I can’t grind anymore. I broke it.

You can easily get 500 badges in a day just running with the masses, and even faster if you’re part of the GvG scene. My suggestion though, is if you just hit 80, quit, and came back to the game, you aren’t even close to ready to start thinking about getting a legendary weapon. You need to gear up (ascended too, not just exotics), get everything you need aesthetically, get anything else you want, then devote 2 months of hardcore farming (I farmed for 18 hours a day for 2 months to get mine).

It’s been like this since beta. Axe 1 has always out-dps’d axe 5. Axe 5 is there to gain adrenaline and crit as many times as possible in a short amount of time to proc rending strikes and traits like it.

Also to make silly people run away in fear.

I’d say we could reflect projectiles with it, but I forgot that only thief is allowed to use that skill better than us.

I run apothecary when I roam for the heightened shout heals for sustain, massive condition and large toughness boost. I never die. I don’t understand why people seem to think that they need to do damage on top of mainly conditions, because conditions are there for pressure. If you want to do damage go with berserker gear mixed with rabid trinkets for the condition pressure, rather than running carrion/rampager stats which give you about as much survivability as running full DPS.

We have shout heals for a reason: Sustain. Be selfish. Use them for you, not for your allies.

If ArenaNet were to create new maps, we saw this with southsun, they’d quickly be dead after a few weeks of the content update going live. We’ve had several dungeons now, and I don’t think they’d do well if they were permanent. If ANet were to create more crafting professions I don’t see at all how it’d impact the game in a positive way. Crafting is something you do to level your alts, not make things.

I do agree that we need more permanent content, and from Colin’s latest blog post that’s what they’re doing. Going with Neverwinter’s content updates would however be a step backwards in this game’s direction.

Everyone seems to think that clipping issues are the reason why they haven’t added capes. The real reason is because, while it’s as easy as welling each cape they make to collide with every armor model in the game equipped to your character, that takes a lot of client-side power to render in real time (though, it is doable. Anyone running a mid-high range PC would be able to render it without any noticeable FPS drops.).

I’m a character artist, and when I see the clipping argument it makes me laugh knowing that ArenaNet works with Maya over 3DSMax and would be fools not to allow nCloth properties in their engine, which GW1 did. They still use nCloth in GW2, but with the much higher poly counts that this game has and massive amount of normal mapping, I fear that 50 players with capes on your screen would cause some serious issues were they all to have collision information attached.

Wow. I can’t believe that one post created so much discourse. Kryptonite exaggerates a bit, and I clearly stated that we had at most, 30 players. I shouted in TS to mass invis and from what I’m guessing several mesmers used it, not just one. About half of the TC zerg followed their commander through us off the cliff and we cleaned up the rest. I don’t see how hard it is to believe.

Secondly, I am talking about PvP. I say apothecary gear because the Shaman amulet in PvP has apothecary stats (toughness, not vitality like every other piece of shaman gear has). I stated my own opinion and told you all how tired I was of people complaining about warriors on the forums, and to go learn the class. Sustain doesn’t mean high health, Fenrir. A soldier’s amulet is just a buffer. You won’t ever reach max health 1 minute or longer into a fight, because your enemy can slowly whittle you down, and that health and toughness buffer won’t last. Warriors have the highest diminishing returns on vitality (if you don’t know what stat DR is, go away.), which means we don’t benefit from it because, as I stated before, it’s merely a buffer. The CC warrior does have its role in PvP, but it isn’t meant to sustain. You should know that being so “pro.”

I was in the last SOAC tournament and took 1st in a WPvP duel tournament prior to the SOAC tourny on the same day. I’d like to think I know what I’m talking about, but you know everything. You play PvP after all, so you must know everything about the class with no background in theorycrafting for PRX and TL and you weren’t the PvP class lead for Team Legacy while it lasted. If you’d like to criticize my posts based on personal opinion, go ahead. If you don’t believe me, go ahead. Don’t soil my good name, though. Keep your entitled forum warrior opinions about “weakest class” and “I don’t understand why I lose” to yourselves.

Thank you.

Throwing your fake/non important credentials at us is irrelevant to the state of the class, and the class its the worse right now in pvp.

I never said that warriors aren’t the weakest class in PvP right now. With that, I would completely agree. I did, however say that we don’t SUCK. If you think that the balance issue is so far out of order 10 months into the game that warriors absolutely cannot win against all but a couple classes including itself, you’re very wrong. In this balance challenge that ArenaNet’s stuck in, they try to maintain just that: balance. There isn’t a significant difference in the balance of the warrior compared to other classes, especially since this last patch which was a huge buff to us. Just because we lose out on maximum DPS by not having Heightened Focus and Berserker’s Power readily available in the adept tiers doesn’t mean that our entire class was nerfed, and people need to realize that. Only a very specific set of pure DPS builds were nerfed, and they weren’t all that great in the PvP scene in the first place.

I told you in my first post without attitude or spite, which is all you’ve given me, to try things that work for you if you’re losing constantly. Obviously it isn’t working. If you’re so dead-set on being the bane of these forums and swearing to high heaven that warriors absolutely cannot win against 90% of all other classes, go somewhere else. We don’t need your negativity in this subforum full of it already.

This is exactly what separates the excellent and the inexperienced. Those of us who have stuck it out as warriors and learned counters to the most powerful builds out there. Running berserker’s is the worst possible decision you can make, in my honest opinion. You hear about the lack of warrior sustain everywhere you look in these foul and putrid forums for warriors, yet all of them run berserker gear. Tell me, which class can run full berserker gear and last more than 1 minute in any fight without running away to reset the fight? Figure out what works for YOU. I personally run apothecary gear for the condition damage and heavy healing, as well as the high toughness to avoid burst. Shout heals allow for a MUCH higher EHP.

Find what works, use it to your advantage, master it. That’s what I can tell you. Warriors DO NOT suck in tPvP, and you’ll find that if you put enough time into mastering the class rather than learning to play it, you’ll seldom lose.

I won’t discuss the PvE skill ceilings because they’re virtually nonexistent. PvP skill ceilings however, I would say a warrior. Now, a lot of people say, “But Ferrum! Warriors are kitten easy to play!” And I have to agree. But, if you’re facing the stongest builds on the strongest classes in the game, your skill is the only thing that will see your victory. Warriors are easy to learn, but they’re definitely the hardest class to master when every other class in the game out-“classes” you.

I hope it is open world housing like Archeage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=529in9ycPg4 That is the best housing system I ever saw.. And to give it a GW2 look they can give dyes for the bricks.. Same for guild halls.

Please no boring instance instance based housing.

Just select specific places where you can get a place to put your house and put some extra maps for it as well.

Here is a brief youtube video of housing in Wildstar. ANet will have to work their kitten off to create something that won’t be an embarrassment in comparison:

http://youtu.be/5qyzcwRHcRQ

Wildstar housing is nothing compared to the Archeage housing. Boring instance housing.

I agree. Having a timer on housing in the open world (designated areas, of course) would also ensure that players maintain their houses and have a reason to go there, to prevent their houses from being demolished. If other players can see your house it becomes a vanity item, and enforces that need to play more and spend time polishing it to perfection. Open world housing is really what this game needs, though it might be a programming nightmare.

Too bad mass invis only works on a handful of targets and cant invis everyone, otherwise it would be OP.

Nice fake story though. Not sure what kind of glory you really wanted by posting this.

When you all stack and shout “Mass Invis!” In teamspeak, multiple mesmers will pop it. The entire zerg obviously wasn’t stupid enough to run off of the cliff, but I guarantee you that, while our mass Invis lasted, half of the TC zerg ran off of the cliff. We were able to wipe the rest, but telling it how I did makes it sound more glorious, does it not?

I run my sword/shield condition bunker in WvW and haven’t lost to a thief yet. Shout heals with healing gear allow you to out heal their backstabs, and throwing down a fire field to stand in it while they’re stealthed forces them to stack burning while they attempt to heal up. Once I chain “Fear Me!”, Shield Bash, and Flurry, they’re often done. The key to beating thieves is having a lot of conditions and light CC to maintain pressure and control the fight. Once a thief has you on the defensive, you’re going to lose after you pop all of your defensive utilities and they’re on cooldown. Don’t let them control you, and bring at least 2 control skills/utilities to a roaming thief fight. I can easily take on 2 backstab thieves with my shout heals and AoE burning/light AoE immobilize and bleeds. You have to remember that the entire goal of a backstab thief is to take down the enemy’s squishies. If you’ve got 3.3k armor, the highest backstab they can land on you is 4.6k, which can be negated entirely when you use a single healing surge.

I’ve seen a backstab screenshot in the battle log of a friend of mine yesterday showing a 10,5k hit on a 3,1k armor warrior.

The thing is not the damage though, it’s the not getting punished for their mistakes. They can reset fights as much as they want. I know I do when playing my thief.

When I’m not playing my condition thief I do the same thing. That’s why it’s necessary for me to chain a cripple, Fear Me, Shield Bash and Flurry in order to kill them so that they don’t have the chance to escape, otherwise it’s a never-ending battle. They’ll still never be able to kill me, but they’ll always reset the fight if they get too low.

indirect nerfs to warrior

Blind: swing at them and actually miss. It’s a pain but it ensures that you can’t simply swing wildly to remove blind.

Torment: take 900 damage over 5 seconds. Stop whining about it and grab cleansing ire.

People overreact to minimal changes like this. Blind I can understand, because it can be reapplied and makes even veteran scouts in WvW an issue for melee warriors, and I’m forced to use my fire field on my longbow to keep blind down each pulse while I melee them down for damage.

As for torment, it’s implementation shouldn’t be taken so seriously. They don’t want you to stop moving, that’s stupid. They just gave 3 classes an extra condition so that they have slightly more build diversity. Don’t expect to see any of the strong builds currently changing their utility skills and weapons to use torment (necros have a very short torment on DS, but its effect is abysmal). It’s not a bad thing, and it’s rare that you’ll ever die from it. I’ve done test after test fighting condition builds in sPvP who use torment, and in the death breakdown, Torment is near the bottom.
