Chaos weapon drops have been replaced with Ley Line weapons.
Balthazar weapon drops have been replaced with Mordrem weapons.
The Dye Pack and the Toxic, Metallurgic, Winter Chimes, and Mad King dye kits have been replaced with Glint’s Winter, Lion’s Arch Survivors, Lion’s Arch Commemorative, and Lion’s Arch Rebuild dye kits.
WHY does A.net remove items instead of just adding to the game? It frustrates me to no end.
as long as guys get a speedo and not those ugly underwear we have now.
I kinda really want to see huge Norn beefcakes running around in speedos I will not lie.
That place in Southsun Cove makes you naked so a bikini/swimsuit hangout for people on the beach would be fantastic.
Yep. Auto-attacks being so strong is what needs looked at nearly across the board.
I’m more bothered by the weird sickly grunting sound I hear whenever I use Herald’s Elite. Wiki says Glint is supposed to say an actual line sometimes but I never hear it. Just that gross grunting.
I wish we’d get more of them. It really gives different races a unique flavor that other armor sets do not.
A dev on the reddit replied
LOL That’s rich. No they most definitely weren’t removed for being sexist. They were removed because every time we went into a review of serious story content and you’re supposed to be having really weighty conversations about Tyria-shaking, monumental decisions you and your team were making…oops, is this boring? Why am I yawning, and kicking the ground like I’d rather be ANYWHERE else? It happened so often that the only real way to address that feedback was to pull them out, because unfortunately our tools don’t provide us designers with a way to throttle back only specific animations.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/4spdd5/human_female_idle_animations/d5bet8e
Lame. It doesn’t make sesne that one gender of one race had them removed, when a lot of these idle animations don’t have a place in serious situations. None of them too actually. So they all should be removed right? Just give them back please.
I was disappointed to see they are sticking to that ancient standard line without it having an ounce of credibility. Especially nowadays with all the joke backpacks, glitter trails, footprints, sparklies… that nonsense doesn’t break immersion but someone looking bored? Delete!
Maybe on the 26th? Please? Never forget. :P
Jora. Norns need some love in the Legends camp. :P
I miss a lot of things from GW1… :\
Yep.. not a peep. :\ C’mon A.net.
There will always be lazy players out there but I find that mentioning something like “Hey can some of you help with the Portals?” in a non-chastising way tends to pull some people off the blob and help out.
Being nice gets more than just getting upset I find. :\
Anyway, I was kinda hoping this was a discussion about updating some world boss mechanics. It wouldn’t be a bad thing to give some of them a fresh look every few years in my opinion. They are all so cool but they do get stale after awhile.
(edited by Vyrulisse.1246)
It is kinda ridiculous but there are people who think everything in this game should cost money for some reason.
Hey guys let’s do a 2 day only sale in the middle of the week. Genius. It stinks because it’s going to be a complete mystery as to when or if it will ever come back because they tell us nothing regarding the gem store… still harping on that schedule please. :P
This issue is effecting me in PvE as well. Did Victory or Death and the final area, allies didn’t load in ever (except Garm), enemy names made it appear they were at the other end of the ship when in fact they were right in front of me. My settings are Medium/High in terms of model limit/quality.
Honestly what I’d like the most is for the Turrets to be spread out a bit more. Right now you try to drop one in and one big AoE is lights out then you have to wait 120 seconds. Feels like a waste.
Personally, I’m just happy that in GW2 my female plate-wearing character doesn’t wear a thong and actually looks like she can fight…
I’m sorry to pick this is out but these are exactly the kinds of comments that make people defensive right off the bat. “doesn’t wear a thong and actually looks like she can fight…”
It’s a little insulting to those who spend just as much time as you crafting their character’s looks but just happen to go to the skimpy side of things.
#TeamGnashblade all the way.
I like it how it is and want more revealing female armors.
Likewise. I like my characters to look sexy in games. Personally I’m tired of being chastised for that preference.
I don’t think anyone is chastising you, at least in this thread anyways. What most people are asking is for males to have some revealing armor as well. A medium armor with a bare-chested open vest, for example. Or how about some more barbaric-looking heavy armor showing them muscles? We don’t even have any sandals on any light or medium armor. The list goes on…
It is a little tiresome that females get armor that shows some skin while the male variant is almost always completely covered head-to-toe.
I agree with you. I was more speaking in general terms. I’ve had many a heated argument with strangers and friends alike about my preferences is all so I’m always defensive when topics like this come up.
Like I said earlier, I am very for seeing more beefcake running around.
On a more serious note though, Males should be allowed to show off as well. Especially Norn Males who get choices of awesome tattoos that can cover from head to toe but the armor always obscures it. Like what’s the point if you can’t show it off?
:( At least you can say you knew someone like that, I hope you remember him fondly.
I will admit to wanting to see more Norn Beefcake running around. >.>
Why is this glider only available for 2 days??
This glider should be made available for longer than as some of us don’t get paid during the middle of the week.
It will be back — they introduce a lot of stuff for short periods of time, to generate hype.
Yeah probably months down the road… if ever. Who knows, they never tell us. Two days only would make a lot more sense if it was on a weekend after 99% of people get paid.
Get ready for all the super elite players to talk down to you for daring to ask for something a bit easier to manage.
I agree with you by the way, the option wouldn’t be a horrible thing.
I know a good shoulder-waist-ratio on men is considered sexy, but I still think they overdid it on my Sylvari. XD
Look at them gains!
When will people who use the “but I like, it, you want to take sexy armour away!” argument realise that is NOT what people who want armor parity are asking for.
What we want is to be able to choose!
Many sexy armor choices for bother genders, many covered armour choices for both genders, instead of one gender having 90% of one, and the other gender having 90% of the other.
Human creativity has no limits, THE UNIVERSE IS BIG ENOUGH FOR BOTH.
We don’t want to take anything away, we want there to be an equal amount of different options for both.
You and others might not want to take things away but there are plenty that do. People like me who enjoy revealing outfits and armors are always on the defensive when this topic is even brought up because we get called all kinds of names for enjoying sexy/revealing things in our fantasy video games. I’ve been called a lonely man (?? Always gets me considering I’m not even a Male…), a loser, a sexist, a misogynist… etc… just for daring to speak up in favor of more sexy.
So please (no sarcasm here) do forgive some of us if we sound defensive even when it’s not warranted. :\
It is rather annoying how every other character is female wearing less clothing than a stripper.
Maybe to you. Personal taste and all that.
I agree with the OP. It’s really stupid and tiresome how many female skins are designed to be ridiculously revealing. I mean the panty textures are bad….why would you make skins that draw attention to this?…. Right? Am I right?
I mean you don’t allow heaveyset chicks in this game. At least allow the skinny ones to run around in armour that looks the part. People should be able to make a female that looks like a guy with lvl 80 armour skins (right now u can only do it with the crap skins).
Nailed it. We need new panties in the Gem Store. It all makes sense now.
How close is the dev team to leaving in such “nerfs” just to rightfully spite a segment of this game’s community?
Not close at all. Our devs are professionals, and they want what’s best for the game and the community at large. I think I understand what you’re asking, but honestly, we try very hard to look beyond the form of messaging to the content, and we work with that as much as possible.
My comments were, again, on a personal level. I do believe our community is the best in the business, but I recognize also that sometimes some players lose sight of the big picture, and sometimes they post imprudently or impulsively and I just firmly believe we can do better, as a whole.
Bottom line: I’m asking everyone to try very hard to share input, feedback, even complaints (and yes, we do allow those
) in the most meaningful way possible. I know I might use “constructive” a lot, but really, that’s what it’s all about!
Look, I’ve been around since before the beginning—when GW2 was beta testing. This community started strong and then communication issues started happening. That’s NOT the players’ fault. And it’s not the players’ fault that they believe the only way to get attention to real issues is through toxic forum posts.
So I’m glad you’re setting a great example for people of what conduct should look like on the forums. But if you want the GW2 community to improve, it needs to happen because there is mutual trust between ANET and its player base. Right now, it’s not there. And while in the past ANET has sworn to give its players better communication, that just hasn’t happened.
I’m hearing a great deal of frustration. Between class balance, build diversity, more raid content, and today’s patch with skins that can only be obtained through MORE rng, I can see how this bug could bring players to their breaking point. Now Im not excusing toxicity; there’s a forum code of conduct, and it’s there for a reason. But asking players to ignore all the underlying reasons for that toxicity—most of which is ANET’s doing through its own inability to model GOOD communication—is a low blow.
So please keep up the good work and spread the message to your colleagues, too.
A lot of truth in this. When there is a lack of trust people will always be on the defensive and on the lookout for any sign of further breach of that. It is not the community’s fault things are like they are with people upset and frustrated. This outrage wasn’t just about the Silverwastes possibly getting nerfed either.
Still mad about Thaumanova winning over Abaddon. >:|
Why does it get annoying though? Why are people so against sexualization and revealing things? I’ll never understand that.
They shouldn’t change the way they’re making armour because male players prefer to make attractive female characters and cool-looking male characters. It fits both needs.
Clearly you are the voice of all male players.
Nobody wants to take your revealing female away. They just want revealing male if revealing females exist for that armor. And vice versa.
It’s pretty annoying every male caster is in a godkitten burqa while the female is half naked.
I’m of the opinion that more options is always a good thing so I agree with this. Just keep your mitts off my pursuit of sexy and we’re good.
Also not only Male players are interested in making revealing Females by the way…
I like it how it is and want more revealing female armors.
Likewise. I like my characters to look sexy in games. Personally I’m tired of being chastised for that preference.
I don’t understand this forum at all. When they nerfed Chest farming by ~40%, no one batted an eye. They trim one reward off a single event, and people flip out.
SW events/meta is fun to do.
Chest farming isn’t fun to do.
Nerfing SW, which doesn’t need a nerf anymore after the HoT map reward buffs which made them all as rewarding kitten doesn’t make any sense. What makes even less sense is nerfing SW NOW when AB is being multi-looted and didn’t get nerfed. Everyone is doing AB now, why would you nerf SW when it’s not even the best gold/hour or an exploit or anything? SW didn’t need any changes.
I’m baffled.
I’m thinking it has to do with making AB the best loot spot. Because people who were farming SW that don’t have HoT will now need to buy HoT if they want the best loot. It’s a stretch, but I wouldn’t put it past Anet. They are acting rather desperate as of late.
If their plan is to kill off popular zones because they are not part of their current paywall then that is another, MUCH larger problem with them entirely.
I don’t understand this forum at all. When they nerfed Chest farming by ~40%, no one batted an eye. They trim one reward off a single event, and people flip out.
It’s not just a single event, it’s a culmination of events that everyone has to work towards. The reward now is simply not worth the effort.
800 gems -> 280g
SW nerf, heh good luck with farming gold.SW was best map for fun and good times, but guess not anymore.
Guess they noticed that the exchange rate was starting to calm down a little bit and decided to fix that permanently :P
This needs more attention than it’s getting if it’s true. Too many people having fun and getting rewarded for it in The Silverwastes? x.x
Still doesn’t address the fact that we basically have to gamble to get the scraps to form the tickets necessary to get these items in the first place. It’s not so much that we can’t make gold off of the skins it’s that people do not want to have to deal with RNG nonsense from things that cost money.
Yes Keys cost money if you want any real chance because the Gold to Gem Ratio is insane right now.
Really disheartening… hope they speak up about this somewhere. Guess we should monitor Reddit since they seem to flock there.
We hear reasons they can’t do things yet constantly see a steady stream of gem store items ready to go.
My local dairy farmer has a stream of milk yet it takes years to grow new cows.
Once you’ve got a mesh it’s a lot easier to throw some textures on it than it is to create something from scratch. If that mesh is popular – like the glider, you’re going to have one guy make ten designs for you. Getting a whole new outfit designed with all the relevant meetings and discussions.. takes longer. Getting a whole new legendary collection up and running takes longer still. And in the meantime you want to make money and you have these ten glider skins some guy made for you last week.. of course they’re going to appear on the gem store.
That’s kinda the short game though. Are they in such dire straights that they can’t afford to play the long game and build goodwill with actual content updates? Especially ones promised to buyers. I may come across as angry but I’m not, pretty happy with the game honestly… these are just questions I have and probably many others.
Not really weighted to the side of pitchfork storming, just questions on their own. Is it out of bounds to ask them?
The main reason we get these threads about gem prices is because people buy gems on an impulse. Something good appears in the gem store. The people who didn’t plan ahead all rush to buy gems. The ratio then shoots sky high and someone makes a thread about how high gold to gems are.
Make a habit of buying at regular intervals. Buy a set amount of gems per time period or when you reach a certain amount of gold. That way you won’t be buying gems when the prices are peaked. They’ll still be expensive of course but if you plan ahead you won’t be paying those premium prices.
That’s a bigger problem. With A.net’s habit of removing things seemingly arbitrarily to create forced rarity, we almost have to buy things we want on impulse or risk losing the chance for months or years.
There are a lot of good points and the best I’ve seen in this topic is just how overpriced a lot of gem store items are in regards to real money. I agree with that, some items are just insanely overpriced for what they provide.
I’ve suggested elsewhere that A.net come up with a schedule for the Gem Store regarding items that they have put in there, when they will go away and when they will come back. That would go a long way into helping people plan better… but is that what they want?
We are not talking about the same things here. You’re talking about buying items on impulse when they appear. I’m talking about setting up a system to steadily buy gems on a schedule so that when those items do appear you have the gems in hand already and don’t need to exchange gold for gems when the price for them is the worse time for you.
Yes that does make sense in a structured market but some items have been gone for years and we literally have no idea when or if they will ever come back. This means we don’t know what’s next on the chopping block so to speak… My point is that your idea is a good one, a really good one and would make much more sense to people (or maybe just me, who knows) if they created a schedule. Clearly you can’t do this with new items because they aren’t made yet, but old ones? Sure. Put items in groups and have them alternate between them throughout the year. As new items are created, put them into existing groups.
And yet the six Developers working on the Legendary Journeys aren’t working on the expansion.
Bah, there goes that theory. =(
@OP: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Legendary-weapons-6
Good luck.
So next theory up to bat then. Even you must admit that to the general onlooker, the optics of shiny new Gem Store items seemingly appearing all the time with the relative lack of attention given to anything else does not look good. We hear reasons they can’t do things yet constantly see a steady stream of gem store items ready to go.
Anet too busy developing another expansion to fulfill the promises of this expansion.
Strikingly well said.
More power creep. Imagine if the next set of elite specs are as far above HOT specs as HOT elites are above core.
I came here to say this. That is my biggest fear.
“Help! I need a main!”

It is woefully behind the times and barebones for people who enjoy spending time crafting their characters. It seems everything gets QoL improvements except that. More sliders would be nice or even just having the current sliders do more. I feel like no matter how extreme I may get with sliders I never vary too far from the base face I’ve chosen to edit.
I’ve seen some suggest hairstyle mirroring/flipping for certain hairstyles to add a small bit of variety as well.
What would some of you suggest if they were to actually improve character creation/editing via makeover kits?
Well “The Unbroken” can fit if you think of it like “Yeah they are Unbroken because they like to watch you do everything.”
Background Baggage.
