I’ve seen one Thief clearly cheating I think. I know you can chain shadowsteps and all that other nonsense but this guy was covering half the map it seemed instantly, he was doing weird teleports that looked unnatural. I could understand maybe someone good pulling it off but he wasn’t even that effective. He was constantly blinking about in odd patterns… it was the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.
I like it but one qualm. The drop-down menus should be based on if you click them and not if you just hover over them. It can be annoying at times. Overall it feels smoother and loads faster for me so it’s nice.
We need better power. I’m sick of the Condi nonsense spreading into everything. I’m showing clear bias of course but that’s just how I feel.
I was playing Tyranny and I’d love if the minimap worked like it does in that game. It has the standard minimap but if you press “M” it grows in size so you can see everything much more clearly while you’re still playing rather than go to a separate map screen. If it were possible in this game that would be fantastic.
>Revenant uses up all their energy to abuse the tablet
>Has nothing left for range pressure
>Nothing left for condi-cleanse/effective healing post-tablet explosion
>Basically forced to switch legends if they’re burst down afterwards
>Knockback can be blocked/evaded/stab’d throughUnless you’re a bunker trying to outbunker it, I dont see how there’s so much trouble killing them
Energy regens quickly enough where they can continually summon and explode tablets over and over, don’t forget that once a tablet explodes it leaves behind shards that heal you for a decent amount and if you’re the only one on the node from your team you will have a sea of sparkly healing shards before long.
They can also swap legends to actually fight back if they need to. I’m NOT saying they are invincible or anything of the sort, just saying the Ventari Elite is a little out of hand currently with the knockback.
You aren’t forced to look at it.
Put them in the Laurel Merchant like they did with Season 1 rewards, easy fix.
A lot of your acting like you’re forced to stare at that screen until the enemy teams decides you can leave, literally nothing has changed with how you could leave before. Just leave if it bothers you so much, don’t cry about it and try to take away something fun and silly for others to do once in awhile.
As I said before, most people, even winners tend to leave a match asap… just like it’s always been. Once the novelty wears off it will be exactly as it was before.
PvP is about competition and feeling like you did better than another team. I’m sorry that some of you are so sensitive that you get injured over a few people dancing on a pedestal but come on now. Most people leave the match nearly instantly anyway, just as it’s always been and there’s nothing stopping you from doing the same. It’s a fun little addition to emote and dance or set off fireworks sometimes if you win.
Maybe some of these out of left field changes will make more sense with the new specs? I dunno.
Yeah if you stand near the railing above the arena you’ll take phantom hits and conditions. They don’t do anything since you’re not in the combat area but it’s just funny/annoying.
A lesser issue is that it’s annoying to watch from the stands because you’ll constantly get hit with conditions. They don’t do anything to you but it’s just an annoyance.
Join a real match and you can easily get at least 2/3 dailies even if you lose. Never understood the need for special rooms for them.
That stinks, good luck getting them solved.
Imagine being salty that they added something like this which is just a fun little addition to the game. Just imagine it.
Remember… there is no monthly fee. You do not have to buy expansions. You don’t have to buy Gems. Gemstore is how the employees get paid…you get updates and so forth BUT you don’t really have to pay a dime if you don’t want to.
“It’s okay to fleece us because we don’t have to buy it.” Nearly everything is incredibly overpriced if you look past the gem number and see how much actual money those gems would cost you.
Condition damage takes time to do the job and players get their second chance to cleanse it even if they are hit.
May i welcome you to 2017 (actually anytime post HOT) where condi burst is a thing and Damage over Time is pure nostalgia.
Agreed. People keep using the excuse that condi has “ramp up time” but it really doesn’t, not anymore.
Really wish they would just separate Solo Queue and Team Queue. It’s not a difficult concept.
Anet loves condis for some reason. Every “balance” patch lately is effectively “buffed condi, nerfed power”. I don’t think they actually playtest this stuff at all, and certainly not in WvW—if they had, they’d have seen how little fun this “meta” is.
It’s out of control even in PvE. Just tried it out, and I can out-DPS my power-based main, which I’ve been playing for two years, with several condi classes/builds despite never having used them before and not even knowing their rotations—by 30-40%. WTF, Anet.
They clearly don’t. How else would that Epidemic team killing bug get in the final build? It was found within 5 minutes by players.
I think we need pulsing stability… oh wait.
Shocked anyone can tell. No announcement in-game, no call of the mists… just nothing. Way to bring attention to this game mode guys.
Don’t make us play these anet
Don’t worry everyone will still vote for Khylo or Foefire. :^)
People are so focused only on the end ascended items.
People. There are TIERS of rewards. Three of them
Newcomers get the triumphant set and t1 weapons.
Then experienced wvwlders start getting the t2 armor and eventually the weapons.
People that have stuck with the game mode for a long time get the t3 armor.
Its not like if your not getting the t3 armor your getting nothing from it.
Don’t ignore everything else there.
This isn’t supposed to be something people do for the skins. Its a reward for people that play and love the game mode as a whole. The skins aren’t supposed to be the goal here. Its a REWARD for sticking with something for a long time.
The GOAL is to play and enjoy the game mode. If the skins become the goal and are made easier to get then the game mode will be filled with farmers for a short while before they all immediately dissapear agian.
Is the 2k rank minimum for the FINAL REWARDS gonna turn people off? Maybe,…probably..GOOD.
But it will give people that are dedicated to the game mode something to look forward to.
And it may encourage other people to try the game mode and realize they love it.
As such. I STRONGLY disagree with anyone attempting to lower the rank limit.
If this seems super out of hand for you and turns you off from the game mode. You weren’t going to stay there long anyway.
Dont salivate over the new pair of boots and make that your reason for existing. Let it be something you would have gotten anyway for doing something you enjoy and it makes sense.
You nailed it. In this game especially a lot of people forget about the journey and focus only on the destination.
once the dedicated wvwers decide to take a break, the pvers gonna turn wvw to eotm so they can farm their stupid backpacks fast
Price you pay for having a game mode that isn’t considered dead. Just because some people made it their home doesn’t mean it was ever meant to be their personal playground. There are drawbacks to having high interest in the game mode and guilds and others are just going to have to learn to adjust.
A.net can probably do a lot to alleviate this. If the population remains high then they have to do something about servers no doubt.
Mini Orrian Baby Chicken.

Depends what you’re doing really… I use Glint with Mallyx for open world crap, fractals, and sPvP. Jalis is really only worth switching to in a raid situation since you’ll already be getting full buffs from your group and want to maximize your dps potential with hammers and devestation.
If you’re not raiding, I would say there’s definitely room for Glint in a PvE spec. (It’s particularly strong if paired with Incensed Response.)
This is also what I do. Glint is still ideal for me personally in Open World/Fractal situations.
Unless you’re concerned about the most efficient and fast way to clear content then there’s absolutely nothing wrong with bringing a Necromancer along. The biggest meme in the game is that certain builds and only certain builds and classes can win content and that’s just not true.
Yes there are ideal team setups and classes/builds for Fractals and Raids but you can win with any class really. Find a guild that just wants to win and you won’t need a reason to bring your class along.
Just get in right now and never leave. I joke but that seems like the best course of action… Oh wait, we will probably get a new build.
Nevermind.
I will say it could do with a larger area, not too much larger but a bit. It’s an Elite after all. Or maybe slightly faster pulses if that’s a thing they could do if they do keep it so tiny.
In which WvW’ers pretend they are barely above general PvE players themselves. An old classic.
Just teasing… don’t bite my head off plz. >.>

WvW LFG just the thing we really need. Woohoo… #sarcasm off
A lot of people do, especially those new to the game mode. You’d be surprised at how many people are shy about talking in map chat when they are new. I’m one of them and seeing people advertising “Newbies welcome” groups in WvW would be a godsend.
Plaguelands is actually pretty powerful if you use it at the right time.
I believe the point is to break massive blobs of ppl.
I’ve only dabbled in WvW but is that something that would be welcomed by people who play it primarily?
Looks pretty sweet. It certainly has me interested in giving WvW another go and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
I am excited for the sPvP stuff. Can’t wait.
The jumping puzzles are fine.
Sure they’ve slightly gone up in length/complexity but that’s not a bad thing. It’s just not your thing.
It would be fine if the game followed its own rules in these “new” Jumping Puzzles. Blind Jumps/Glides and terrain that anywhere else in the game would lead you to falling somehow has a single pixel you have to hit so you can stand on isn’t challenge.
Whatever is fun for you honestly. Most PvE in this game you can do whatever you want and be effective.
This advice is awful. Being able to complete PVE with whatever you want is not the same as being effective.
The nature of “general PvE” means that you can be effective doing whatever you want in terms of builds so I disagree. He didn’t ask about Raiding or high level Fractals in which case yeah it would not be great advice. General PvE is for having fun doing what you enjoy doing, that’s how it is designed.
Whatever is fun for you honestly. Most PvE in this game you can do whatever you want and be effective.
I don’t understand the reason for the change. I preferred the old method.
I’d be happy with letting us turn in tomes for a boost without the items. We can already upgrade Writs, let us upgrade Tomes.
Putting conditions on ourselves was a mainstay of Guild Wars 1 Necromancers, it was all about risk vs reward. Perhaps A.net is trying to bring more of that back now and in the future spec? I dunno, I hope so. It made for some interesting gameplay.
Honestly after playing with Condi Rev I don’t care if it’s meta or not. I’m just glad to have another viable build to switch to.
Jesus… that… should be nerfed pretty fast honestly. That’s insane.
Guess you Eles get to be the “noob class” of choice this cycle.
(edited by Vyrulisse.1246)
They are still very selfish and I dunno. Maybe someone will discover a killer build but I expect not much to change once the initial excitement wears off. I asked about how this early condi stuff compared to the typical Jalis/Glint Power Rev and the improvement was not much at all.
At least it’s good to have another viable option I guess?
Revenants still have the same weaknesses they always had. Don’t let the changes make you forget that.
what could/maybe should have happened.
In other words, slow motion wasn’t enough, it now needs to miss 1/3 times
Wars seem to be the only ones that don’t get that headbutt needed a good balance of some sort. Its now able to be dodged/evaded, albeit still not easy but it’s now doable (esp as a squishy class). There are worse things anet could have done to it and this was probably the least they could have done (don’t know if this was just a lazy easy way out kind of change but it was a change). Try being an outsider looking in and maybe you will truly understand what i really mean.
I know my class well.. which is why I can read other warriors and dodge said headbutt accordingly.
Which was my point…you are not an outsider, therefore you don’t truly understand what I really mean. This nerf, as I mentioned, was weak, but needed.
Try playing a Warrior and see that Headbutt wasn’t the free win skill everyone whining about it said it was. It was already easily dodged by anyone who was paying attention and if you’re trying to go toe-to-toe with a Warrior then you deserve a headbutt to the face. The fact that everyone knows it’s coming made it even easier to prepare for.
How does it compared to the typical Glint/Jalis Power Revenant?
Anet hates power builds for some reason. They must still be scarred from the berserker meta way back when
I look forward to your video.
