Overall I like it. The island is fun to play on. Story was a little short again but that’s alright it was interesting. The Jumping Puzzle is eh. I was pretty excited hearing about how challenging it was going to be expecting creative jumps and such but what I got was a cheap game of “find the pixel” and blind jumps that either decide to let you land them or not regardless of whether or not you did the exact same thing.
It felt cheap and not like a fair challenge.
It seems more that she has a plan to manipulate Lazarus, and doesn’t want the commander to know, since he’d never agree to it. Act like she has joined the Mantle, serving Lazarus…and then backstabbing him or giving us info. Jory had always been the detective of the group after all.
If that’s her plan then she’s in way over her head with Lazarus.
I talk to the NPC to get the disguise, the cinematic plays and when it’s over I’m standing outside without the disguise. I have repeatedly tried to enter and it will not let me for some reason.
Yeah it’s really bad sometimes.
Wish they would have just given us sliders. Character creation is woefully limited in this game.
If other players cannot use a summoned NPC then stop summoning the NPC and just open the interface. Problem solved with the NPC’s.
Golem Bankers are not so impressive looking that everyone has to see it.
Experienced something similar in Dry Top. Saw someone fighting a boss, thought I was helping. Apparently the boss wasn’t supposed to be killed (???) and I was promptly told to go “kill myself”. Kinda puts a damper on any desire to lend a hand.
He may be correct but for most people I doubt it’s from any malice or wanting to work the system. Me for example. I’ve been getting Mystic Coins through the daily thing for awhile and I just stash ‘em. I never really knew what they were for I just know they went into my material stash so that’s where they went… and stayed. I’m most likely not the only one who doesn’t really give them a thought and just stashes them away.
1. It’s too hard.
2. They are too busy.
Pick one for any suggestion that doesn’t involve the Gem Store.
Game will always struggle with actual difficulty because of how it’s designed. In GW1 later missions/elite areas you had to watch patrol patterns of various mobs and make your moves with timing and keep somewhat of a formation going and if you aggro’d another mob by mistake you were in for some tough times.
GW2 is just all about stacking, running past mobs (they are trash that require zero skill/planning so why bother actually fighting them) etc… Dunno about Raids so I can’t comment on that. From the outsider it just looks like A.net piled a buncha annoying effects/super strong skills onto a typical boss fight.
I’ve heard it and it can get pretty annoying after awhile. Once you hear it you will never not hear it. :P Those who haven’t, consider yourselves lucky.
If you really love boosters then yeah. :P Otherwise… no.
With big sales like Anniversary Sales I think they just should go crazy and bring it ALL back. Imagine the shopping sprees people would have. :P
I know they love their little mysteries but telling us how this functions will go a long way.
Just time, garbage loot from Claw of Jormag and the first part of the new Achievement.
Special joke titles is actually a genius and hilarious idea for everyone that survived this.
Always been a natural healer and I guess a lot of my types of players gravitated towards Druid when it came out. I always try to res people when I see them downed because we’re supposed to be working together and not be selfish concerned only for our own DPS numbers.
I honestly have no idea yet. I envy those people who found the one for them and could settle forever. :P
Just run with a zerg until/if someone shoots you and invite. That’s how I do things… if they invite me and don’t see I’m a Ranger or Druid at the time then that’s on them. :P
I wish they’d find a way. GW1’s system was far superior to the hope and pray a taxi squad shows up in LFG we have now. :P
Perhaps but she has basically lost everyone she’s cared about. She kinda lost Faolain before but I think she knew Faolain was always there in a sense, now she’s gone forever. Trahearne is gone as well, the Pale Tree is supposedly in a very bad way still and the closest thing she had to friends no longer trust her at all.
Maybe she is still just a lying, stubborn and snooty person but the confluence of all those events and in this relative “downtime” after Mordremoth, I believe all of that is finally sinking in.
I’m an optimist I guess and would see it as more interesting if she realized she has to change, either trying and succeeding or trying an failing rather than remain the same static character she has been.
Is anyone else a bit concerned about Caithe? Especially during the mission in Bloodstone Fen that she aided you with. She pretty much lost control of her emotions and begged for your forgiveness during an ambush... then when you asked if she was coming along she said in a very dejected tone that she's "just a shadow". Kinda makes you think her actions and everything that has happened is finally hitting her.
Did anyone else get that vibe or was it just me? :P

Why make actual legendaries that were promised and people can earn when you can just cut out all the annoying collecting/crafting stuff and sell legendary quality skins on the Gem Store?
This began with the latest Windows 10 update for me. Before the new build of W10 it never happened.
You leave the Quaggans alone! They are adorable
I always use my mentor tag for a few minutes when I call out certain things that people might be interested in seeing. Toxic Seedlings I come across, events that start… I haven’t been abused for doing so but really the only reason I don’t keep it up all the time is that it’s so obnoxious sitting over the top of my character’s head it often gets in my way when playing. :P
I do know one thing, when there are daily JP/Minidungeons to be run in lower-level areas, I often see the Mentors parked on the map directing everyone to them to help them out and that’s awesome to see.

Expect an announcement for the start of the development of Guild Wars 3 later this year.
I really hope not. I know a lot of Guild Wars 2 players weren’t around for Guild Wars 1 but I was since the early betas and I really don’t want GW2 to suffer the same fate as 1 did. Yeah it’s still on but they pretty much stopped all development on it in one fell swoop. Unfinished new quests, long promised class reworks left to fester in whatever condition they were in, Utopia completely scrapped in favor of GW2… it was sad to see.
Not to mention they throw GW1 players a bone every once in a blue moon, recently we got Balthazar Skins for a celebration which is fun, but at this point it’s more of an insult than anything else, a small morsel of false hope that maybe it wasn’t totally forgotten… but we know it was.
I really hope GW2’s playerbase doesn’t have to experience the same.
At first thought it’s a good idea but then you realize that most of the races in the game currently still have a lot of unexplored storyline possibilities. Humans seem to be getting a bit of attention now with LS3 but Norn/Charr have been all but ignored.
I think efforts would be better spent on the races we have now rather than toss a new one into the mix.
I agree. Invoking Glint sounds cringey. I hate it. Shiro sounds awesome.
Mallyx sounds pretty sweet as well. Glint is… when she (rarely) uses her actual voice-overs she isn’t bad, but the grunt-to-voice ratio is all messed up in the wrong way. :P
Jalis grunts a lot but at least his are tolerable.
I have literally used stow pet once when running a dungeon before they changed how pet aggro works….
I use it all the time mostly to be considerate of others, especially during Jumping Puzzles.
I wish Stow Pet meant Stow Pet. I know it’s a profession mechanic but I really, really hate how every little ding you get brings your pet out or if you take the slighest fall damage etc… keeping it stowed is also a tactical choice to start out fights with a few buffs as well if you’re traited for it.
Technically, Edwin, Lazarus said that the Krytan throne is inconsequential.
Which could mean his goal is to literally obliterate all of Kryta.
My theory is he’s after the dragons.
He said they are after more virtuous pursuits, he’s been on the edge of nothing for a long time.
Maybe he’s decided this time around instead of fleeing, he’s going to fight? My prediction is Lazzy and his white mantle go after the dragons.
I tend to agree that Lazarus wants to take down the dragons. Although, I doubt it’s for any actually virtuous purpose. I think he just wants their magic. We know he’s capable of absorbing large amounts of magical energy and coming out unscathed, I think he wants to be standing right next to an Elder Dragon when one dies.
Yes. He said virtuous but really, what is virtuous in the mind of a Mursaat? It is probably not what Tyrians would consider virtuous.
After playing with it quite a bit it kills me when trying to make precise jumps. We need a toggle in the worst way.
Norn just looks more popular because they’re easy to spot.
Have you noticed that there are quite a lot of human female thieves that use not only tier 3 cultural armour, but also the scarf from the gem store? That’s a combination I see all the time in-game.
Guilty to using t3 medium top on my thief. Though it’s kinda between that or the gem store viper and strider skins…which I don’t have. Medium carapace and human t2 are nice as well, but the rest is just trenchcoats
Tier 3 underboob black leather armour, dual incinerator, flower-in-the-hair-hairstyle with weeaboo anime colour, massive obnoxious wings?
I can’t really blame medium armor human female players from choosing the rare few pieces of NON-TRENCHCOAT armor they have. Medium Armor is really the worst in terms of choices for looks.
Way, way too many trenchcoats.
Not me. WoW is boring to me. I tried the free trial and it felt so clumsy and sluggish compared to GW2.
If you enjoy it don’t let other people get you down about it. I don’t know of any builds though, someone more experienced with Revenant here can probably point you in the right direction.
I dunno if it’s the same but it may not just be Facets. I couldn’t switch into Mallyx’s Elite Form. It’s like it turned itself off instantly no matter what I did.
Main/Off-hand Ring Equipping. PLEASE.
How about ditching the tablet as something you have to move? I’ve seen someone suggest that perhaps the player could hold the tablet and become the center of its abilities.
Or make the Tablet act as a follower and follow you around automatically?
I cannot believe this isn’t fixed yet. It’s a pretty major bug. The skill is now a crapshoot every time you want to use it.
Honestly at this point I’d rather they roll it back to pre-patch bugginess until they sort it out because at least then I could use it successfully most of the time. >.>
Makes me wonder how in the heck this got past testing. I noticed it within minutes of trying to use it.
I hope it’s a bug too. I posted it in the Bug Forum but no reply. That animation was cool. It looked like Mallyx was trying to take over your mind. Want it back!
Can confirm. It’s very unreliable at the moment. A “fix” for now is to use skills like Riposting Shadows. It seems to break you out of the stuck trap.
Shhhh! If you get too excited they will destroy it!
I’m constantly getting stuck when using Unrelenting Assault. It’s way worse than it was before.
Looking at this lengthy long-active thread… I would be curious to find out the gender of the commenters. Bet that would make some interesting information.
I am a Female if you’re curious. :P
Also I was playing HoT the other day and it hit me. Their excuse for removing it was that it was “immersion breaking” during cutscenes right? Okay so tell me why having people talk to each other in the open world as a cutscene isn’t immersion breaking when fifty people keep running through my “scene” with sparkles, weird 8-bit like things and every other insane backpiece that’s been sold?
Pretty immersion breaking right there…

The transformation animation is missing. Hope it’s a bug and not a feature.
I’m kinda upset about the Embrace the Darkness animation. I thought it was really cool with how it looked like Mallyx was trying to take over your mind. I hope that’s a bug and not a change.
So tired of cool things being changed into standard boring stuff for the sake of “balance” or whatever the heck reason they have for doing it.
I have a bad feeling we’re going to see an influx of Guardians…
Why is that a problem? I’ve been toying with the idea of making one for weeks but since I make it now I’m going to be chastised? :\
Don’t act like Guardians aren’t everywhere already. I always see ’em running around. :P
I see them far less then other classes.
They have been thinning out, I wonder if the Tempests will do the same now. Now that’s a class that is everywhere.
Personally I’ve always wanted a Guardian but since I was a Paragon and a Monk in GW1 I purposely stayed away to try something different but that nagging feeling of “going home” to the spiritual successor to those classes is always there.
