Vigil Keep during the ’Under Siege" Vigil Quest.
Running over the area caused what you see in the screenshot, it was repeatable and fixed itself upon leaving the small area (such as when I ran through it). So basically as I was running the entire area glitched out for a moment when I ran over that area and fixed itself upon leaving. I went back and did it several times and seems to be a map issue.

Edit: It’s not just during the quest, it did that in normal playing too. I asked about it on Map Chat and it seems I’m not the only one to experience this.

I just got the mail as well and really don’t like the game making me feel like I cheated when I did nothing of the sort.

I would have liked a bit of other notice, but I find the mini-events to be fairly amusing. There’s a little moment of discovery in getting that “what the huh?” item, but I worry for other players who might not stumble on them before they’re gone.

PvE/PvP balance was split eventually in GW1. What’s their reasoning for not continuing that idea? If I recall it was pretty well received back then.

All you need is that one in-demand skin to drop and you’re rich like that in this game.

I’ve hit autorun and had a phone call and came back to myself running against a wall. Easy enough to do if you have to get up suddenly.

I enjoy them both. I hope that’s not a rarity. :\ That being said, there are some basic things in GW1 that confuse me as to why they aren’t in GW2. Build Templates, PvP-Only Characters, A minimap with actual aggro markers (red dots for enemies that are aggro’d) and small stuff like that… but like I said, I still enjoy both games.

Just from my own experience I always see a lot of people around.

Since many people here want “more intelligent” mobs, let me tell you that here was a patch in beta when mobs used to dodge attacks and everyone was annoyed so they changed it back. If they ever give boons to the mobs, expect a lot of whining!

I really want to use my Necro’s Focus in PvE but it might be a better idea to give different effects to skills in PvE and PvP like some skills in GW1. Not sure why Anet won’t do that, we have such a small number of skills compared to GW1…

Think of the whining as birthing pains. Mindless DPS people will just have to adapt and learn to approach mobs with tactics and some small bit of planning. :P

They have PvP/PvE balance split in GW1 there’s no reason it can’t be done here as well.

I would love this. I was just thinking about something similar the other day. I’d love to be able to switch out my entire build along with weapons. Your idea goes even further and I think better though so I hope it gets implemented.

They need more skill variety. I’m afraid of getting smacked down for saying it but I wish mobs were more like they were in GW1. They tended to roam in packs and higher level ones had all sorts of nastiness that blended together.

I believe the “Note” at the bottom needs to be a different color. It kinda blends with the background. Red or Bright Green would be better. Both would grab the attention of players and let them know something is fishy about these letters.

I just want a pet rabbit. Is that too much to ask of this world? :P

My human ranger, Acadia Le Corbeau. I was using glowy weapons and dark colors until I ran into a player with a very simple woodland wardrobe and a wolf. I liked it so much I changed mine to a similar style.

That’s a really good look. Sometimes simple is better, I think.

I noticed that after I reverted my character from the Level 80 Boost Trial back to normal (She was only level 2 at the time), she kept both weapon sets equipped and could switch freely without having that option “unlocked” normally. Not a big deal, just thought I’d bring it to your attention. :)

I also noticed that once you revert if you’re a Ranger you do not get your original Pet back but rather you keep the one that you gained with the boost trial.

Yes, but sometimes it might not reduce the breakbar, depending upon the particular boss and the particular skill and, assuming others are also CC’ing, it will be hard for you to tell whether your particular attack did any good.

That is true but until I memorize when to use what and where, I guess it doesn’t hurt to try.

I came into this thread because I’ve seen people just saying “CC” randomly and like others assumed it meant crowd control, so it’s nice to learn what it really means. Now I just gotta memorize the big stuff. I figured out that the “break bar” was important to destroy on my own I just never knew the term for reducing it.

Okay, to keep it simple for people who don’t really understand fully yet. When I see someone say “CC” does that mean I should use skills that I know reduce the break bar or something?

My first thought was “It’s like when children would play around pretending to be planes.” I came here to share a laugh and see people literally trying to draw a comparison to the real life plane crash and crying insensitivity and offense.

Can we not have fun anymore? Is being silly with a game a dead art because SOMEONE might be offended?

You can’t even JUMP in Guild Wars 1.
All you need to do is spam 1 while your heroes do the work with splinter weapon,minions,death nova,putrid bile,etc…

I don’t get how more “challenging” GW1 combat was,it was okay,but definitely not challenging. If you had the 7 heroes (or even only 3) party,you could just roll through missions.
Even resses were almost instantaneous (and some were really instantaneous) and you could do it from afar.

Yes,it was fun,but GW2 is 1000x better. (it was good for the time it was released)

Yeesh, hope it doesn’t take that long. I had quite the adventure getting my accounts linked and it was just kinda deflating to see it disabled. That’s just a personal issue though.

By the way, support was awesome in helping me solve that issue. Can’t hurt to give them some credit here. At least I have a reason to get points now!

I’m kinda new too and it seems like that sort of thing is reserved for Dungeons and whatever Fractals are… in the open world it just seems people team up by chance or when you have shared goals without actually partying up.

Too bad I never encounterd the HoM bug, it would be nice justice for me considering I can’t link my accounts for whatever reason. :P

Why has something “in beta” been introduced into the live game like this? I’m not being snarky, just genuinely curious.

When they delayed the patch, entitled players got mad about it.
When they released it, same players got mad about it.

It’s a game, it will always have bugs. Instead of complaining about these few days the game didn’t work for you, log in and have a very hard look at the numbers on /age.

Personally I never got upset over the delay, but when you delay something for further polish and it’s released in this state, it makes me question just what exactly they are doing over there. I mean come on, some of this stuff I noticed almost instantly when I logged on after the patch such as Guild Chat being broken.

I’m shocked the apologists are still out in full force. This is a shameful display by A.net and truly amazing that something this broken got the OK to go live.
