You just watch for the tablet. He uses all his energy for a knockback and can't do anything else really. Shock factor is a reason for a lot of frustrations I think but Ventari Rev is a one trick pony if they concentrate on spamming knockback.Funny few days ago I had a ventari rev on my team, he keep dying and didn’t hold any point the whole match.
The next match that same ventari rev was in the enemy team was the easiest win we had, he couldn’t survive against CC.
I don’t see whats the problem with ventari rev seriously, ppl just need to learn to use theirs skills, rev can knockback every 10 sec? so what? just cc him a few times he will go down fast.

yeah dude. The utilities are support, the bow is supposed to be damage, and the traits are generic. Honestly if they wanted the whole “ritualist” thing and to make it actually special and work they should have made razah the legend (or make up a new ritualist or some kitten like they did with kalla), and make spirits as the utilities like they did but long lasting and possibly more self dps oriented, give revs scepter and focus and they would use skills influenced from channeling magic on scepter, restoration magic on focus, and basically make us a heavy caster. new F skills could include someting that teleports your spirits to somewhere around you, one that consumes spirits for health, and maybe that’s it.
tl;dr spec is unfocused and has no direction. If they are giving us ritualist inspired skills make the spec act like an actual ritualist with gosh darn cyan skill effects. not a worse ranger with even worse spirits.
Scourge feels more like a Ritualist than Renegade by far.
I would love to see more game modes, but sadly i do not think it will ever happen. I am convinced that no matter what Anet comes up with, the majority of people will still prefer conquest because of the lazy gameplay and tremendous advantage it offers to classes that can claim an aoe area with the idiotic condi spam we have today. There isn’t a single match without 4 guardians , time to start realizing why. Anet is simply providing what the majority of people like to play. They tried, and failed. Can’t blame them for putting their resources somewhere else.
But most players don’t realize this. Or they just flat out ignore this realization. GW2’s sPvP competitive scene died when GW2 got dropped by ESL. The final nail in the coffin was when ANet decide to not make a match make to compensate for mass exodus of actual PvPers from sPvP. Thus making sPvP in GW2 unrewarding for most. They just get their end chest and don’t look back till next season. Because other then that. It has no entertainment value.
You are forced with a choice. Either be happy with GW2’s version of conquest. Or look for different PvP game modes in other PvP titles. Other then that you are just being funny, just like I am now. Trying to reason with that which can not be reasoned with. So go on continue to bring unneeded unhappiness, to your selves through a video game HAHAHAHAHAHA.
It also turns actual PvP’ers who are average but not horrible or great into bitter people that only care about their rewards so they stop caring since they get pips for wins or losses.
I tried to stick with short bow, but the damage was disappointing compared to mace/axe. I tried to use utilities but with trial and error they were damage waste compared to heroic. Though sustainability in PvE was better than I expected.
Mallyx is still the main line and mace/ace is still where the damage is at :/
Kinda like I said earlier, Shortbow feels like it’s meant to be played spammy but the energy costs just make that impossible. Tweaking the numbers on the weapon at least would do a lot for it, I think.
The utilities are a different matter. Interesting and good effects, poor execution.
Fractal Daily system needs to have more goals or extremely random Fractals. It honestly feels like the same Fractals are in the rotation every day. I know it’s not the case but that’s how it feels. I’m looking at you, Cliffside.
Conditions are too strong and too easily spammed. This is known and anyone arguing those facts probably play condi builds.
Unless you’re a player at the top yes it is about luck. Only a few people are good enough to climb out of the muck.
To be fair Gaile did say that while we would get to try the elite specs that none of the updates given to them would be in the stress test. She said they have changed things but we were still using the demo weekend numbers and even the demo before that’s version of the map art. (As seen by the Lily of the Elon being updated on their stream and the old version in the stress test).
There’s a sliver of hope Renegade has improvements but I guess we’ll have to wait.
And changing those numbers won’t fix anything. Even making them 0 energy cost, those skills are useless.

Agreed. I had fun with it in PvE, I played Renegade exclusively during the stress test and the skills were fun to use. As I stated in this topic, my major issue is the energy costs. Knocking them down a bit would do wonders for me personally.
I think it would look better if the “smoke” was temporary and it just had the vine things circling you.
Energy is the issue for me. Real potential for something fun here but energy holds me back in a big way. It did in the PvP Test and it did in this Stress Test.
Shortbow condis have low duration and it feels like mostly a spammy weapon but good luck playing it fun with these costs. I hope they get reduced before release.

I have hope as well, my Chuka and Champawat journey continues.
This is happening to me a lot more lately even on pressing the key for skills. Seems not to matter if you click or not.
The only issue I had was with the Unload-like skill sometimes not being in sync between the animation and the sound effect. I really enjoyed the rest of them though. I played on a Human though so that may effect things.
I hope so. Holosmiths will cry out for such an item if they don’t have it yet!
you have cleanses, resistance, vitality and heals, sigils to remove conditions, rune of the trooper if needed, finishers in light fields… and probably some more… you can have it cleansed by others, amd duration reductions even if they have been nerfed as well
Those cannot keep up with how easily it is to spam and re-apply conditions and if the demo weekend was any indication it’s only going to get worse in sPvP.
To be fair it’s hard to get invested in winning when you can either solo queue or duo. We need a full team queue. It’s pretty much Random Arena and no one ever cared about random arena.

That’s the truth. During the demo weekend every time I died some insane number of burning was at the top of the list as to why.
An old argument for having strong conditions was that they had ramp up time so they needed to be strong. That is a myth now, there is no ramp up time there’s only burst. People crying “bring cleanse” don’t understand that Condition bursts are easily and frequently spammable. Cleanses and healing cannot keep up. “Good job, you cleansed my initial condition bomb. That’s okay I’m still spamming and stacking them on you afterwards while your ancient cleanse is still on recharge.”
Anyone who played the Elite Spec weekend in PvP knows how much worse it’s going to get on the horizon. Insane burning stacks would melt you in what felt like an instant. I’m sure some things are going to be nerfed but right now that’s the only barometer of the future we have so I used it (hesitantly) as an example.
It would be nice but apparently loyalty only matters if you keep a character forever.
My conclusions are these:
1. Shortbow skills are neat but cost too much and range is a problem with no escapes. It’s hard to sustain the conditions on it in any real form. Mace/Axe is still the superior weapon set I think. Mace 2 is easier to sustain and puts out a lot of burning in a short time compared to SB’s weak Fire Field and Bleeds.
2. Utility and F skills cost WAY too much, it’s hard to have any sort of flow with them when they use up nearly your entire energy bar. Also yet ANOTHER channeling Elite? It needs to be reworked I think, while good we have enough of those already.
3. Playing it like a Standard Condition Revenent with Kalla instead of Jalis may be a better option or really just using Kalla for the Traits and keeping Jalis. Not sure on that though.
Anyway, it’s pretty underwhelming and actually using Kalla’s skills seems to be a drawback than just using her for the traitlines. Also Sevenshot is garbage, I’d rather they nix it and replace it with some kind of escape option on SB. It looks cool but that’s really the extent of it.

Yeah, at its current state it is very OP, so OP that it makes me main it even tho I never ever wanted to play Necro. But you got me, I would be crazy not to play it

It’s op if you’ve got no condi clears or transfers.
That’s about it. If a player is smart he’ll use those two tools against the scourge.
Clears and transfers can’t keep up for a lot of classes. This isn’t just a Scourge problem either but a wider issue that the Scourge is a big part of. I main Necro but we have to be honest with ourselves here, what we’ve played this weekend is too strong and will be toned down. The real questions is what compensation there should be. Reaper still has issues as does Core Necro… don’t be distracted by the new shinies, still a lot of issues here.
It will be nerfed but how much we don’t know or what they’ll give us in return (lol) when they do.

I’m trying really hard to make this work but the “smoothest” feel I’ve been able to get is just basically the typical Condition Revenant we’re used to except without Jalis Hammers when I swap… I’m not sure that’s what they had in mind. :P

This and burning. To be expected I guess since almost everything is broken but really it feels like whoever spams their condis first wins any battle. Cleanses and Heals cannot keep up for the most part.

Okay I’ll give you that, our burning is stupid high… but overall FB’s so said support is non-existent in the face of how much power damage some classes do (holo included).
The concept of holo is jolly, but the numbers are too high. But… 55k burning in 3 sec? That’s for a target that is stationary, doesn’t dodge and doesn’t know the meaning of condition cleanse. Besides the highest condi damage on FB is achieved on the first condi burst, later on it’s just decent re-stacking of burn. If you let yourself get killed like that it’s just pure l2p.
I’m not so sure Holo damage is too high honestly. Maybe against pure damage builds like most people are probably running or a lot of A.net’s premade builds but something like a Support Tempest can deal with a Holosmith assault pretty easily. I did it and I’m not great.
Also bear in my mind a lot of people are just going full damage builds so of course they’re gonna get melted. Support Tempest for example can handle a Holosmith assault pretty easily.
Holo smith can be dealt with pretty easily if you pay attention. Its damage is on the high side yes and should be toned down a bit but not much.
Scourge is… well… Broken. :P
I know taking the Legend out back and shooting it in the head to put it out of it’s misery is off the table but honestly that’s the only way I see “fixing” this legend. Everything pretty much needs to be reworked.
What I predict will happen is ANet will balance like they always do. Rather than admit they could ever possibly do wrong, they’re going to take our feedback that Mallyx + Mace does way more condi damage and nerf Mace + Corruption traits while nerfing Herald of any offensive support it already does better. Because it’s not that “Renegade is bad” it’s just that “all the other things are overpowered!” so Renegade can’t be appreciated properly
Honestly scared this could happen because hearing them talk about Renegade they all sound so proud of what they created. I fear in their quest to make a cool sounding spec they forgot about the gameplay part of it.
Does the heal even work? I felt like I got nothing from it and died anyway.
You guys act like the Season is active or something. Literally crying about Unranked being “ruined” for a couple of days. Take a step back and realize what you’re doing right now.
I don’t see why it should get a nerf, it’s super easy to counter, has nothing against CC and easy to reflect back and mitigate.
As Spellbreaker, I just full counter, stun, and it dies.
It is pretty squishy from what I’ve played of it today. Nothing like Scrapper that’s for sure.

Yeah guardian is like 55k burn in 3s, Holosmith is pretty much balanced
It is truly insane right now. I melt in 2 seconds and nearly every time I check what killed me some crazy burn damage is at the top. :P
Edit: I forgot, Scourge is another insane burning offender with Dhuumfire on 3 shades + the Necro that cast it.

With that dmg, i might make engie my main.. like INSANELY dmg.. more then warrior burst attacks all on auto attack and the rest of its holosmith mode skills are all very high burst attacks. those golems are gone before you know it :-P

I love how people in this thread debate over power versus condi meta, while it doesn’t really matter to anyone in this thread like at all.
The DPS difference is only slightly noticeable if you are doing perfect rotation and is capable of playing your class well. Which most people on the official forum probably are not capable of. This discussion is pointless.
You miss the point entirely. A lot of people find Condi Builds to be boring to play. I know you were excited to come and look down on people in this topic but please try to understand what it’s about.
