The Shroud excuse for why Necromancers can’t have nice things has always been a bit flimsy but with how fast players and enemies can spike you to hell now it’s completely a myth. Shroud will melt in an instant if you get focused and then what? You die.
I would LOVE an answer from A.net why they are continually stomping Power Warriors into the ground while promoting this disgusting “Condi Meta” nonsense. We’ll never get a real answer though. It just doesn’t make ANY sense at all especially in the last patch that Power got nerfed again on Warrior… it was already in a bad spot but they decided to kick them again?
They really need to get their crap together and learn how to make both Power and Condition builds viable without trashing one or the other completely. It’s embarrassing.
I dunno. I change it up but it looks good and not everyone is obsessed with being a special snowflake. You can be dark but not be edgy, it just takes effort.
They write every “commander” from a Human perspective and it’s truly annoying if you don’t play Human, I agree.
qT are also among the best of the best so most of us could never hope to reach the numbers they get, I imagine. Still it’s good to have such knowledge shared freely and I don’t understand why some people feel the need to talk badly about what they do.
It replaces having to stop after every semi-large event to salvage your full inventory and it’s a fantastic idea. I really do not understand the whining I’m seeing. Sure it has a few flaws that can be fixed but overall it’s a wonderful addition.
Basically, what’s happening is that elite specs are being turned into OPTIONS for characters, rather than straight upgrades. Even Spellbreaker is limited to TWO adrenaline bars, which means it STILL won’t have the sustain of three bar bursts. It’s a good direction for the game to take, even if it has immediate consequences that are difficult to predict.
This would great reasoning, if it only applied to any other class besides warrior. No class got hit like warrior.
Necro says hi.
Necro was at least being used in high level PvP when it got slapped.
Necros also raised holy hell on their forum and reddit after the last nerf and got something back for it, doesn’t seem to be working for Power Warrior fans.
I want out of this condi hellscape. I guess you shouldn’t play Warrior if you… I dunno… want to be a Warrior.
Editing isn’t working for me for some reason but I’d just like to add that I loved the new enemies, they offered interesting challenges and I felt they were just right except for The Forged. They need to be stronger in my opinion, it felt like they just melted. Maybe they were nerfed for the preview but I do think they need to be buffed up a bit.
Wow, I gotta practice sooner than I thought. Nice!
Base Ranger? She is extremely loyal to the Ranger class!
Also Gaile what are you doin’? Expansion is coming, get those masteries up!
Great map, fantastic music, bounties are fun and so were the events. Mounts are awesome and I miss my Raptor already. :P
Slight cons, I wasn’t thrilled with what I saw of the VIP area and it didn’t really match the description on the store page in my opinion and, more importantly I think Unidentified Items need to be excluded from Salvage All somehow. Overall I’m hyped and ready.
I’d like to add that I LOVE the unidentified loot system. It was fantastic and I had zero inventory issues during the beta while running from event to event. Please keep it as it’s one of the best additions to the game.

I really, REALLY wish they’d update character creation. It felt limited when the game came out and is archaic by today’s standards.
Also I forgot in my earlier posts but thank you for the images.
Each to their own.
Sometimes, the Royal Terrace has more players, sometimes, less. The amount of players, though, does not make any of the features less convenient. It’s not like one must physically push their way through a crowd to access an NPC or crafting station, etc.
That’s true, I guess personally from the description of the pass on the store page, I expected more. I do hope A.net gives it another look and makes it feel a bit more “worth it” in a sense (which is entirely subjective I understand) but I won’t be upset if they don’t.
I just think the fact that they are using it as a bonus and a lure to sell the actual game that it would be at least on par with most of the exclusive areas they created so far. From what I can see in the demo, it is not. Again, opinions.
Edit: One more thing, giving benefit of the doubt and all, we don’t know if the thing is even done yet so there’s always that.
I hope the Devs don’t make it less ‘cramped’, as having NPCs, etc. close together is what makes it convenient.
Thanks, Danikat, for the preview.
I’m thinking of times when players enter. It would be perfect for a private instance but it’s not.
I’m not sure how I feel about it. It seems… functional but the way it was advertised made it seem like more than I’m seeing here. I really hope A.net adds to it or at least makes it less cramped before release. I’m already seeing people upset at what they’re seeing and feeling like this is an afterthought compared to the previous exclusive areas they’ve put out.
People claiming it would block NPC’s. Have you met Living Story NPC’s this season whenever an episode comes out? The same thing already happens. It evens out over time.
Talking to NPC’s or checking out the bounty board should not require a dismount, yes. I hope A.net takes a look at it.
Would it be possible to have Unidentified Items classified as something other than “Masterwork or Greater” in terms of salvaging? Salvage All becomes a scary prospect when you’re in the middle of something and a heart vendor is far away because it includes your stacks of Unidentified Items.
It isn’t a major issue, but I feel it would make life easier for us in the future.
Positive: The map is lovely, full of things to see and hear, what I played was big and fun with events and fights.
The major positive is the music, I love it and how it changes into real battle music when things get intense, it matches the mood and really pulls me into what’s happening.
The mount is great, I love how it controls and the ease of use it has. I can’t wait to try out the other ones when it releases.
Negative: Performance seems to suffer randomly and overall feels a bit “slower” than the rest of the game. It is a beta so I suspect that will cleaned up a bit before release, at least I hope so.
I couldn’t care less about minions.
Of all our problems, this one is the most irrelevant.
It’s very relevant to people that enjoy Minionmancer play. Just because you don’t like a build within a class doesn’t make it irrelevant.
Power warrior was always kind of meh in spvp, but they’re still broken in wvw.
WvW “balance” should never be a concern in any decisions. It is impossible to balance a game mode like that and they really shouldn’t try.
Don’t know why people think the sky is falling… cPS and cDPS sound like they’re better than ever…
Physical is obviously worse, but condi has been meta for a while.
No clue about wvw. Maybe roaming? Bull Charge seems kinda nuts now. I don’t wvw at all though, my opinion is pretty worthless there.
The sky is falling for people that enjoy power gameplay. The gap is growing wider and wider each patch and it’s a problem.
Well that’s something, I’ll take it.
They look like they were made in MSPaint lul
That sounds lovely. And they say PvP players have no class.
Yeah I was referring to Power mostly… which should be a Warrior’s specialty in my view. This push by them to make EVERYTHING condi is a bad move I believe.
What does it matter how the numbers above the enemies’ head look when you’re doing DPS?
It matters whether you like the gameplay or not.
Exactly. I don’t enjoy Condi Warrior Gameplay, I enjoy Power and they seem hell bent on gutting Power is my point.
The only real use I’ve found from Plaguelands (and it’s a good one at least) is on stationary or mostly stationary bosses and in chokepoint fights in WvW. It’s a pretty good skill in those conditions but other than that it’s not really.
I like a lot of the warrior ones, have been surprised that engineers ha e had no adjustments to mh pistol or rifle… And a few other ones in ifferent classes that I see why they are upsetting people.
Yeah completely gutting Berserker was such a smart move on their part and don’t let me forget giving us an expansion preview by pretty much removing Shroud from any serious gameplay.
Playing a burn Condi berzerker and almost no change for me other than Arms is more thought provoking. Maybe power based bersekers are hurt more with the primal burst nerf? And berzerkers power in strength?
Yeah I was referring to Power mostly… which should be a Warrior’s specialty in my view. This push by them to make EVERYTHING condi is a bad move I believe.
The changes were almost exclusively to address PvE. PvP only got a cursory look in this round of updates.
so then WHY they gutted Necros Shroud tell me ?
that effects PvP more then ANYTHING else…..
Side effect of changing stuff for PvE.
From reading complaints on Reddit and Necromancer forums, it looks like PvE utilized the old Speed of Shadows (lower cooldown on entering death shroud) and Vital Persistence (life force lasts longer so you need to generate less) for damage bursts in a rotation.
Sooo… they forgot they have skill/trait splitting now? I don’t understand the explanation here.
And yes we did do that in PvE yet the damage was STILL disappointing compared to most other classes. It was simply “ok” even with that combination.
Started good with high gold, stayed good for awhile then it went to hell real fast, got more than one insane losing streak and fell down hard into Silver. Ended near high silver. Necromancer solo queue for someone that isn’t a pro is extremely feast or famine.
During the announcement a lot of my friends I was chatting with at the time said “Who?” when they said the name. Not a good look for a “Legendary Figure” in my opinion.
Insanely overpriced, look at the actual cost in money for that instant level 80 ticket. I’ll never understand why people allow themselves to be ripped off like that and then thank companies for it. People wanted at least a way to convert the nearly infinite tomes they’ve gathered into a Level 80 Tome of some sort (boost without the items from the normal one) but they said “Nah we’ll put it in the gem store instead”
I’ll just never understand it.
“I don’t play thing so I don’t care if it got destroyed” the topic.
I like a lot of the warrior ones, have been surprised that engineers ha e had no adjustments to mh pistol or rifle… And a few other ones in ifferent classes that I see why they are upsetting people.

“Necros don’t get the survivability skills and traits that other classes have access to because of Shroud”
“Hey let’s gut shroud so it melts in .5 seconds but you still won’t get any of the good stuff other classes can spam almost freely…unless you buy our Expansion!”
“T-thanks…”
Good luck getting a Dev to even look at this place. They just cover their eyes and plug their ears and scream “lalalalala” until we all give up trying.
I have never been more disappointed and completely turned off by changes in balance. This killed my power Reaper, killed it. Why should i bother anymore after pouring everything i have into gearing up a power reaper only to have it killed off with this nerf. Really why should i buy into anything else at this point only to have it yanked out from under me after a year of investing money, resources and time to have it completely negated by some random developer who doesn’t fully understand the implications of a poorly thought out change? This wasn’t balance, it was a destruction of a years work and time so thanks for that!
I’m with you on that… I’m not even mad, just defeated.
It’s pretty bad. Looks low quality and dated, like they made it before they made the core game, QC scrapped it, then they brought it back and stuck it in the 2nd xpac. I enjoyed my similar Paragon armor in GW1, but it has no place in 2017. Hopefully they’ll revisit this costume and update it (highly doubt it).
Paragon Armor actually looks better in GW1. Outfit could use an update I think.
HoT won’t become F2P which is a good sign. What that means is they still want to sell HoT so they can’t have the current elite specs be overshadowed entirely by the new ones.
But I’m not holding my breath for it either. We’ll see.
well hot classes should be made avaliable on the gemstore so players could unlock them. at least that.
it would be like buy hot in modules…
They did something similar in GW1. They sold PvP unlocks that opened up content for PvP-only to people that wanted it. I wonder how popular such an idea would be for PvP only players.
It looked real impressive against a stationary target golem and a lot of things do. Until someone actually does the math to go with that golem and puts it into actual gameplay practice we really won’t know.
They look amazing. Great job on that!
I’m pretty excited for it honestly. Could be a fun and powerful change to standard Necromancer gameplay.
TLDR: Bring back gw1’s PVP. That was a true esport. You are launching an expac soon so think about it
GW1’s PvP was ahead of its time, too bad it didn’t come about in the age of Twitch and all that. I miss it.
Stop with the comedy quips and snark. When it feels like literally every line of dialogue has to have some of that you’ve gone too far.
It’s okay to be serious sometimes.
Pretty alarming that there are some people blindly defending this or pretending it doesn’t matter. A.net just keeps on creeping in on your wallet more and more. A little increase here, a little increase there. On release Black Lion Weapon Skins are 1 Ticket, there is absolutely ZERO reason for them to bump it up to 2 unless it’s to test the waters to see how much they can fleece people of their money in the future.
Yet another shady action they’ve taken yet for some reason people will defend it. It boggles the mind.
I would REALLY love to hear some sort of explanation as to why they did this but I doubt they will ever address it sadly.

I’ve been hovering around Mid Gold/Silver all season and I dunno if it’s bots but it feels like there are a greater number of people doing insanely weird things during matches. It feels like a Twilight Zone PvP. I’m bad, I know this, but the stuff I’ve seen is beyond just being bad… it’s unnatural. Are bots really such a plague now?
Yes I’m sure these few weeks will be a time of reflection and learning for those hit by it. /s
