Still i think the balance is already alot better then in alot of other MMOs and i really believe Arenanet wants to balance everything out (even more then they want to fix bugs in my opinion XD. nah, yust joking)
It took Blizzard more then 2 years to get close to the balance GW2 has within some months. Not every game can start off with 100% balanced stuff.

SC 2, halo, BLC and i think shootmania has
SC2 is kinda an topdown view game where you have to select multiple characters, you are not fully in control of 1 character and due to the fact that enemies can be the same race or at least have units that look quite similar to yours.. this game needs colours
GW2 does not share these problems
BLC. again a topdown game where again, people can take the same class as you. And due to the free attack system its not possible to select anything, not even the enemy. colours are needed here
GW2 again does not share these problems
Shootmania. well, its a freaking FPS.. ofcourse this needs differences in teams

sure, there are games with colours, but with the mmorpg game mechanics of GW2.. GW2 totally does not resemble any need for that.
Why care about dyes in PvP, focus more on playing
The ONE and ONLY progression in spvp atm is being cosmeticly cooler then other people. Having the same dyes ruins your gear and still makes everyone look the same.
It’s programmatically possible to make it so that observers see solid colors for both teams, while the players themselves have a toggle to either see solid colors or custom dyes.
Everybody wins.
This, i would 100% support anything that will lead to this.

high points yust means your team lost alot of bases, then your team zerged the points and you stood on them with 5 people to get the cap-points instead of doing something usefull

I believe I read somewhere that these dyes are put onto you because it makes it easier from a casting/commentary point of view. So later on when obs mode is put in it’s easier to make calls on blue/red than anything else.
How people can find it annoying in the first place baffles me.

the stunbreak is the only thing that does work. the cooldown reduce trait does not work on mist form though, neither does any cantrip trait work if you use another cantrip while in mist form.

Also about the evasive arcana, the effect at the end counts as blast finishers cause in fact they arent the spells mentioned in the description.. They have the same animation yes, but in my opinion giving the effects a different name then the spells would make alot more sense

GENTLY nerf survivability on bunker builds. .. depends on what you see as survivability.. toughness is more then fine and clearly a nerf of toughness would badly affect all other professions to and would make it even less balanced. A nerf of healing, well… who cares about healing.. 1300 healing power gives 200 more health with a healspell, well.. congratz. aegis and retal usually arent the problem either cause 1 only stops 1 attack and the other doesnt make them survive longer.
So if you find out why some professions are such very good bunkers, aside from the fact that they specced for knockbacks… yust know how to CC and dodge which people cant seem to handle.. or take the time to use waterfields for example,

i have to agree there are bunkers that are waaay to tankish and keep absorbing dmg from 3 people while standing still, but i assume Arenanet wont yust lower all survival stats and see what happens, cause i doubt there is anything wrong with the stuff there is right now, yust the combinations of some traits/spells/enviroment yust improve the strenght of the bunker to much.

stealth is bugged on his screen he is visible but for you he is 1s or 2s more invisible so you think he can use almost perma stealth lets hope they will fix it in next 5 years.
Only happens in WvW thanks to massive population causing latency issues, not in sPvP love noobs who cry about WvW in sPvP forum.
It also happens regularly in spvp and lag is not the issue because there were often just 2-4 peeps near the node/location.
I doubt it will be easy to find it in the code.

I think staff earth is quite nicely defensive. Anti projectile shield, cripple ( learn to place this well), the immobilse is great. What does for example sceptre/focus get.. 1 thing that gives a slight toughness boost.. And an immune shield for 4 seconds with quite some cooldown… And sceptre/dagger does not have the immune stuff, instead they get a lousy knockdown. Atm staff earth is yust made for keeping people on distance, not to disable them.

To long cooldown and most fields dont last long enough to take really that much effect. Tried it but the dmg and support given by the elementalist elite still clearly beat it.

90% of the bunkers has an anti-tactic… Seriously. Elementalists are easiest when using immobilise, freezes and well timed poison… Or a skilled backstab thief using poisons, engineer you usually yust are able to push him off the point tbh… Though simple burst from preferably a necro or bleed ranger can do miracles to. Necros… Well.. Havent found an tank necro yet. Guardian.. Well depends.. Some can yust be downed with a combination of condition apply and burst melee, preferably thief or 100b warrior or something… Some belong to the remaining 10% i talked about above though
Also… Try figurig out what is overpowered.. So far i have tested toughness is clearly not the problem, healing isnt either, most traits seem to be balanced.. So it must be an combination of some spells which work normal independantly but are to strong combined.. Who knows

Interesting, so in fact it could have been yust a small test allowing them to do small research on balancing bunkers or something.
As media and game designer i knew this system exsists but till now i havent seen it yet in such big games, only small projects. Nice to see arenanet using such a thing, not only will it be easier to make slight adjusting, easy up patching but also make the devs more in touch with the main version instead of an updated one only they have.

Before relog the warrior npc still did 2.5k, after i shut down GW2 and logged in again 1.8k

Yeah i would imagine so.,.. the thing is, i have screenshots of 3 days ago with my stats.. and atm i have exactly the same gear/amulet/runes and thus same stats.
But while testing on the hammer warrior target dummy in the Mists.. 3 days ago it hit 1.7-1.8 … that same spell used by the hammer warrior now hits 2.5k instead.
I am not sure what happened, if some bug at me yust fell very unlcuky after the server maintenance of the 18th.. or it has something to do with something i did after i became 80 2 days ago..
i have been testing but i cant really find out what caused it.
It might not be the case for other people perhaps, i dont know :S

Since today i suddenly have a feeling im getting more damage in spvp then usual. I made sure i had my traits set, made sure all my runes etc. where in order. But still, where i manage to survive against a certain number of people yesterday.. today i have been having alot of trouble with it.

Meh, probably would do something about the amount of healing they can get using the waterfield by combining multiple blast effects..
At the other hand an elementalist, even the most tankiest ones, need dodgeroll etc. To survive making it quite easy to knock them off points.
Atm o get the fuzz about a certain type of guardians build.. But come on, unlike at an Guardian.. 2 people who know what they are doing will yust take down the ele…

Uhhmm well, i do agree with OP but more general, summoned pets should disappear when the owner goes in downstate. In my opinion downed state is an great addition to the game and i dont mind it..
but what i do think is you need to get as close to balanced
that if 2 people down at the same time, the difference in damage and survival they do should be almost the same. It shouldnt be that an summoned pet yust takes half someones downed state.. 1v1ing an enemy while downed and then get downed while the other guy still had 90% of his downed health left. not remotely fair

If you are going to say “nerf bunkers” you will have to say why they are overpowered.

There are more then enough elementalists and guardians who are defensive, but totally are not OP compared to the very few full bunker ones.
Those guys will be nerfed to if you nerf defenses in general, do you want to ruin every single defensive build?
You want everyone to go 100% dps yust because bunkers need to be nerfed, making anything but glass cannon build a waste of time?

Reason why the OP suggestion will never work..
A guy fully stacked in pwer will never touch earth because of enormouse low condition dmg… He will probably never touch water attunement either because of 0 healing.
A guy fully stacked on condition dmg will never touch fire because even his weakest earth spell does more dmg due to the fact that earth has condition spells and fire all diect dmg spells. Etc.
By making each attunement into a different role.. It makes it impossible for the elementalist to gear/rune etc. For 1 or 2 specific roles… So by doing this you will force people to use only the attunements that fit their gear..
Thus making this totally not a good idea… At least as it is now people still tend to use all.
And if you dont use all atunements atm… You have no right.. Not even the slightest right to give even the smallest complaint about elementalist

Im not sure what you are exactly focussed on so i will yust tell what i think would be best for any focus:
Nonetheless i would think something like:
If you go for raw damage:
If you have less then 50% critchance standard… go for rune of the Eagle
More then 50% critchance.. go for rune of the Scholar (people say the 10% above 90% health isnt worth it… depends, if you blow the whole burst cycle the second the fighting starts it is :P )
If you go for condition damage:
Rune of the Nightmare
If you are more of an tanky D/D (not sure why you would do that.. but IF):

There are 2 kinds of bunkers ..
the normal bunkers, defensive.. high survivability, can survive 1 guy but with 3 guys they mostly die for sure (most of the bunkers and totally not even near overpowered)
then you have the bunkers people should complain.. the ones who can stand still while soaking in the damage of 3 people and still survive (even though fewer exsist then the normal bunkers… they do exsist)
the problem is finding the thing that differs those 2 types.
Bunkers are such a waste, I can easily live longer than them with all of the skills I employ as that build. I haven’t met a guardian yet who can beat me in a 1 vs 1.
This is the weirdest sentence i have seen ever… Bunkers are damage takers.. they knock you off the point and make sure they never die while standing on it.
Ofcourse they cant 1v1 you.. the thing is, you cant 1v1 a nice bunker to.
And if you do…. it aint a nice bunker..

First of all i want to notice i never have his rendering issue, outside of wvw everythi g renders and appears as it should for me.
Second of all, if a thief stealths and you allow them to ge behind you, you are doing something wrong. From the moment he stealths you should be dodging, laying down snares, and never stop running and turning for 1 second. Ofcourse as always you will need to make sure to have at least 1 spell that can absorb a small burst (immunity,teleport,block.. Anything) and aside from that have 1 conditionremoval or stunbreaker.
Do everything to keep him on distance or disabled, the trick is not to burst him.. Nor to fill him up with conditions.. The trick is to outlast him.
