And yet several other races manage to keep their people well fed, as well as having superior technology.
Now, I’m not saying you are wrong. You have some pretty good points. But the thing is, I’m just confused that the human race, who has been plagued by war for centuries, hasn’t made any technological development for the last 200 years even though everyone around them does. Except for maybe the Norn (because they don’t really need it) and the Sylvari (because they haven’t been around for that long).
Even without war you would expect an entire nation to evolve at least a little bit in 200 years, especially with everyone around them making huge leaps in technology/science (mainly the Charr, Asura and Dredge).
At least that was before the start of the game. Kryta has begun to develop some interesting technologies like the Watchknight. And I suppose you can also count the balloons. They may pale in comparison to the airships of the pact and eatherblades but hey, it’s the first step towards aviation right?

Account Bound only if it has a reasonable drop rate. If it’s a really rare drop, they should be tradable.
Also buying things on the tradepost is not lazy, or do you think the money we buy those items with came falling out of the sky?

Go to vigil keep. They have catapults there too.
And arrow carts, and ballistas(In a charr personal story to defend Vigil Keep, you have arrowcarts alongside cannons and such). Catapults are easier to maintain, and arm then cannons. Also, have you seen Shaemoor garrison? The walls are pretty advanced.
Also, the Seraph are doing decently against the Centaurs. It’s a back and forth war, but the main ‘heartlands’ of Kryta are mostly secure.
The vigil uses them because they are easy to maintain, that is true.
But, if necessary, the Vigil has access to much more advanced weaponry. Especially now the Pact has been formed. Humanity doesn’t seem to have this option, as catapults/trebuchets are all they have.
Though I will agree the walls of shaemoor garrison are a nice piece of engineering.

Looks very interesting. At this point I’d be happy with any new profession.
New professions are long overdue.

Of course it can be saved.
The question is, will it?

Remember, Boring doesn’t equal stupid!
True but in their current situation, focusing on farm techniques is kinda stupid. Over the past centuries they have been attacked on multiple fronts (charr, centaurs, white mantle/bandits and elder dragon minions). As a result they lost most of their territory.
You would think that this might encourage them to focus a little bit more on defense rather than farming groceries. I mean, they are still using wooden catapults for god sake. It’s a miracle humans are still around.
This is one of the reasons I was really happy with the Watchknights. Finally some human tech/ingenuity.

Foai? Is that some sort of Asian food?

Yea because Orr, the Brand and Fireheart Rise definitely look like areas ripped straight from a fairy tale….
I always wondered why MLP had so many doomsday landscapes riddled with death and destruction.

Think about it, who was responsible for Lion’s Arch being destroyed? Kiel.
I’m not seeing this. Kiel was the one warning the Captain’s Council once evidence of the attack was delivered. While we were told that should Evon have been elected LA would have stood a better chance, it isn’t Kiel’s fault that LA was unprepared but the rest of the Captain’s Council.
Now who was responsible for organizing the trade agreement, only to have the cargo filled with explosives? Kiel.
Who said that the explosives came from the cargo?
Who benefits from the money raised by the Zephyrites to rebuild LA? Kiel.
All of Lion’s Arch, rather than just Kiel.
Who benefits from the money raised by the Zephyrites to rebuild LA? Kiel. Now that all the money was transferred to the Captain’s Council, she had no further need for them, so she blew up the airship, ala the Consortium ship in Southsun Cove’s LS.
She blew up a ship that had no one on board and in turn destroyed a bunch of paper contracts that kept refugees effective prisoners on an island full of hostiles.
Not exactly close to how you’re painting it.
pretty much /thread right there

And make them Bound on Use please

correct me if i misunderstand this, but what are you telling is that you want people not use “your” gauntlet platform?
Basically
~Sincerely, Scissors
I hope it’s going to be part of map completion. It’s only logical.
I still don’t get why Southsun isn’t part of map completion, as if that zone isn’t useless enough.

I find it hard to believe that turret engineers, who are far from the best build at fighting mobs in PvE, are a struggle for players in a PvP mode.
Balance in PvP is so vastly different from balance in PvE. As long as Anet refuses to seperate PvP and PvE in that regard (like they did in gw1) there will never be balance.
Builds that are underpowered in PvE can be overpowered in PvP, and vice versa.
And as such the turrets will prolly be nerfed to levels of unplayablity in pve while still being complained about cause “AI” rip turrets 2014, your time in the sun was short.
Indeed. The fact Anet refuses to seperate balance is just mind boggling..

There is the Wizard hat and the Witch Hat.
The Wizard hat can no longer be obtained, it was a free give away back in 2012. But if you are lucky it might still appear on the gemstore one day.
The Witch hat is part of an outfit that’s only available during Halloween, so you’ll have to wait until then.

I don’t think mordremoth is behind the bombing on Zephyr Sanctum, that doesn’t seem an Elder Dragon’s style.

But only nerf it in pvp. Turret builds in pve already suck enough as it is.

Season 1 of the LS was stated early on that is was happening at the same time as your PS.
That was never ever stated. LS season 1 took place after the Personal Story.
Chronologically, the Season 2 story will take place after Season 1, which in turn occurs after your character’s personal story and the story of Zhaitan in Guild Wars 2.

Did Elder Scrolls get much more awesome story-wise after Morrowind or is this just me being jaded with it? Because Morrowind was good and all that but the lore in the world was not quite as developed as Westeros feels.
Of course if you only count Oblivion or Morrowind then Game of Thrones will have a more extensive lore. But the entire Elder Scrolls series, both story and lore, surpasses Game of Thrones by far (in my opinion).
Wether the lore is actually bigger I can’t tell since I have not read the books of Song of Fire and Ice, but I can tell you the lore of TES is gigantic. So is the lore of dragon age, there is even has a whole series of books, comics, some mini webseries and even a movie (animated) which are all canon.
Then you need to read the books.
Maybe one day. I still need to finish Dragon Age: Asunder and Sea of Sorrows.

Would you rather run around killing the same mob over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, just for the sake of killing them?
So basically what we’ve been doing during Season 1?
5% story
95% ‘gameplay’
RPG games aren’t really about story
Actually they are. It’s usually the RPG games that are mostly focused on story, and rightly so.

“Hi, I just bought this game, why do people that finished map completion before July 1st 2014 have advantage over me? Why do I have to complete one more zone? Worst update ever!”
Nope, I don’t think it will be new zone. Or maybe something like Southsun, which doesn’t count towards map completion.
That would be the most ridiculous reason not to add new zones.
Also calling the update “Gates of Maguuma” and not coming with a new zone would cause a lot more complaints than adding zones.
~Sincerely, Scissors
This isn’t a fairy tale
Yes, that’s exactly what Living Story is.

I hope it’s not just one zone.

Its nothing like game of thrones, silly comparison…
Game of Thrones story was written by one of the best authors of fantasy currently alive on planet Earth.
No story in any video game could ever compete…
That’s highly subjective.
In my opinion Dragon Age and The Elder Scrolls far surpass Game of Thrones when it comes to lore/story. But to each their own.
~Sincerely, Scissors
They already confirmed waypoints and hearts in the new zones.
Care to link that please?

I don’t like it but wouldn’t mind if it was added, I’m sure there are plenty of people who like something like this. Let them have their fun.

It says unique on the ring.
It’s a really small tag at the bottom of the stats, barely noticeable. And how are people supposed to know what this ‘unique’ tag actually means?
It’s called paying attention, reading something and applying common sense. But no, there should clearly be a fifteen page PDF guide to walk people through this.
Condescending remark combined with an exaggeration, typical.
It should be literally stated that you can only wear one. And please be so kind as to keep derogatory comments about so called common sense to your self.

We should also take into consideration that the religion of the Six Gods might not be entirely correct (as religion often is). I always wondered why Abaddon supposedly needed to give magic to humans even though all other races could use it by default. And magic was in the world to begin with, even before the gods.
But the lore about the Six Gods makes it almost seem like they invented magic itself and only they could decide who gets to use it and who don’t. Which is of course not true.

I hate it when people say ‘there is a tiny unique tag at the bottom, you should have known’.
The only reason I was lucky enough never to make this mistake is because I saw people complaining about it on the forums, never noticed the unique tag before that. At the very least anet can make the unique tag red. So you actually can see the unique tag represents a restriction of sorts.

“I can’t afford a legendary, therefore I don’t need one”
More like “I don’t want to afford one because being able to afford one means going through a boring grind that will slap me in a coma”
~Sincerely, Scissors
Grinding isn’t a problem, grinding doesn’t make you like or dislike the game more
There are several legendaries I really like. But I play games to be entertained, and the grind for legendaries is boring as hell. So no legendary for me.
~Sincerely, Scissors
The only thing truly legendary about this, is the attention span of people actually grinding for a legendary.
Getting a legendary is so mind numbingly boring.

Aleglast, you do realize that we got that patch two months ago, right?
The “really big feature patch” was the april 15 feature patch.
Lol i can gurantee you we are going to get something huge on july first, and then i get to say i told you so.
what would you care to wager?
If you honest to god believe they are going to drop something bigger than what the feature patch on april 15 did, you are delusional. Its going to be a simple LS addition… similar to what we have been seeing since the release of the bi-weekly LS cycle lol… you make it sound like anet is about to add xpac like content as in new skills/weapons/races/dungs…. just gonna be a nice little zone with some achievements and events to go zerg surfing, maybe a few cosmetics..
I will take enough pleasure in saying i told you so.
The interview you quoted was Colin talking about the April 15 feature patch. It literally has feature in how they referred to it. But if you want to hold your breath, then by all means…
That interview talked about a heck of alot more than just april patch pal, and you can believe what ever you want, i dont rlly care, the point is, I am right. And you will find out, and i will laugh.
that interview isnt my only source….hehe…..nuff said.
How can you be so sure Anet will come with something big on July 1st? Also what do you see as ‘something big’?
I’m not saying it won’t happen. But I do believe that atm, there is no way to tell.
~Sincerely, Scissors
This thread is starting to make me chuckle.
“Having to purchase it makes for better content”
As a GW1 vet, I have one word for you….. Factions.
A loooooot of players absolutely hated that campaign, which I never completely understood. However they would argue that just because they had to buy it didn’t make it worth what they paid.
Even though the campaign wasn’t really my favorite, I still take factions over all the Living Story updates we got so far.
-New campaign
-New continent
-2 new professions
-and much more
-and all permanent
I don’t see Living Story deliver that anytime soon.
~Sincerely, Scissors
I will take enough pleasure in saying i told you so.
You do realize this
we’re going to do one really big feature patch that is more akin to what people see from some of our [MMO] competitors
qoute was referring to the Feature Patch we already got right?

I say “whatever, next asura in line please, and adjust the catapult five degrees left”.
I know right. Only asura seem to have the intellect to use a catapult. Unlike some races who don’t even know what the word ‘degree’ means.

If your weapons/armor were all made account-bound then you could just go around transmutation costs by continually trading them from one character to another.
Which would be awesome!
