No, but is there a source which says lorewise: Asura have only round pupils?
No. But that doesn’t mean much.
There isn’t a source saying that asura can’t have horns either, that doesn’t mean that they can.
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
Cats have that kind of eyes too.^^ And afaik they are no reptiles
Well, asura are not cats either.
Title says it all, does anyone know what the fastest way to get festival tokens is?
Well it’s too late to remove them now since a lot of people would have already bought a kit to get them.
But it’s really lorebreaking, asura are not reptiles.
-Centaurs are just outside Divinity’s Reach because zones don’t always change with the
time. If anet removed all the centaurs there then new players would have nothing to
do. Lets keep in mind there’s a certain gameplay-story segration here.A-net did say in interview that the centaur are not defeated. The war continues to go back and forth. Still, all in all humans are a strong power in the world.
I never claimed they are defeated, I just believe that they shouldn’t be just outside the gates of Divinity’s Reach anymore (lorewise). But I understand they are there for gameplay’s sake.
Nothing wrong with cute, the problem with these faces are:
1 – They are all the same (seriously look closely) the only difference is the eyes.
2 – Snake eyes.. really? Way to break the lore.
3 – Both male and female have the same faces..
I think it originates from early days, where soldiers insignias and inscriptions havent been salvageable. The only ways to obtain pvt gear was through badges of honor, dungeon tokens and karma gear from temples.
As most of those items didnt have a soldier prefix but a individual name (armageddon Helm for example), most people used PVT as name.

-Kralk is doing a lot more damage to the Charr than it does to Ebonhawke. Also all the damage kralk did to Ebonhawke in the book mysteriously vanished.
-New dragon has not done anything yet (not good or bad yet)
-Destruction of kessex is indeed bad, but it damaged the centaurs too and Scarlets forces are all but destroyed, it can be restored.
-Centaurs are just outside Divinity’s Reach because zones don’t always change with the
time. If anet removed all the centaurs there then new players would have nothing to
do. Lets keep in mind there’s a certain gameplay-story segration here.
-Bandits are indeed bad but that’s just part of the race nemesis thing. Every race has it.
-Internal politics with the ministry have been mainly taken care off with Caudacus
neutralized. (notice that I said neutralized, not death)
-Gods missing is indeed bad but we can adapt, other races do without gods so can we.
-Watchknights are no longer being used afaik.
-Jennah has no heirs is not really a problem yet, only if she dies before she has an heir.
-The great collapse hasn’t been around for a long time so not sure what you mean by
that.
All in all, not as bad as Anet would have us believe. And lets not forget we also still have Cantha.
I hate everything about Charr, for they are … Charr. And I would like to see them go extinct before all others races.
Yet, I don’t see any good reason to go with claiming Ascalon for Divinity’s Reach.Ascalon still has its rightul claimants: the Ghosts of Ascalon, who have been there for their whole existence.
Too bad for you, Human is the most nearly extinct race of GW2 :p
Yes that’s what the intro says. And yet, the human empire/population is as big as that of all the other races (In Tyria). And don’t forget we also still have Cantha. Not so extinct as Anet would have us believe.
Hey now, Asura don’t have it nearly as rough as the Charr, where the clipping is so bad that their faces even pass right through their own racial-tier helmets. Here’s a pic with one of the new male Charr faces, shame because it’s the only decent-looking one out of the three.
daaamn. That’s just unacceptable.
It looks presentable, the problem being that both genders have that exact same face. It just doesn’t make sense.
The hall of monuments has been there since day one, so was a merchant. GW1 veterans can get unique skins there, if they got enough HoM points in gw1.
There was also a centaur in LA saying he was cast out for trying to convince his leader to stop the war with the humans. Because humanity now has a treaty with the Charr they can fully focus on the Centaurs and also use charr weaponry. This is further evidenced by an iron legion charr bombarding a centaur camp in the Harathi Hinterlands.
I believe it was the camp near Recovery Camp Waypoint. Though that Charr might have been a mercenary I’m not sure.
In any case, the war is going poorly for the Centaurs (and good riddance).
Edit: Found him Outcast Qindova

The male and female faces are identical. In fact.. they are ALL identical. They just gave each face a different type of eye.
This amount of laziness really had me falling off my chair.
Really happy about this. In your face Trahearne.

Seriously… Then what is the entire kitten point…
I was waiting just for this because it’s a great way to level some of my alts.
Was planning to spend a lot of time there, so much for that. Can’t have events being usefull now can we?
gg anet.
(edited by Windu The Forbidden One.6045)
There are already many asura players calling for minor differences to be added in male/female clothing but now we also have to share faces as well…
Indeed, that’s what makes it even worse.
I have some complaints about the new asura faces. The faces can be found here at the bottom.
1. They are all the same faces, the only difference is the eyes.
2. One of the faces has snake eyes.. really? Asura don’t have eyes like that, that’s
lorebreaking. I can understand it if it’s a mask, but it is not.
3.The faces for male and female are EXACTLY the same. Why? That doesn’t make
any sense. The faces and hair is the only way to tell female and male asura apart,
why would you give them the same face models?
I’m sorry If I’m missing something here, but this seems extremely lazy. Just take one face, copy it a bunch of times but with different eyes and give it to both genders.
PS. I know this might have been more appropriate for the Asura forum section, but that place doesn’t get much traffic and I believe this matter deserves some attention.

It could indeed mean a lot, but If this means gear that is even more powerful than Ascended, pretty much introducing a required grind, I’m out.
I can imagine someone is giving her a stern lecture right now in the office. Poor dev.
She should get a kitten medal. At least she actually told us something about what the devs were working on.
At least she told us that the devs are working.
On something other than the China release.
i would much rather see a new expansion going into the rest of Tyria, or Cantha or Elona than more LS. i like LS, but it’s temporary, and is jsut a grind fest to get the achievement points/skins/minis from that specific LS. my wife and i will both be buying whatever expansion ANET throws our way
Season1 was mainly temporary. Season 2 will be mainly permanent as a developer assured today .
Would you mind sharing that qoute?

Great entries so far
Most people think LS better by default just because it’s free.
Yes LS is free, I can tell by the quality…
Believe it or not but Vocal minority is a thing.
And there certainly isn’t an equal amount of praise and complaints on this forum. People who are content are a lot less vocal then people who are not, it’s just human nature.Sorry if I wasn’t clear, but I didn’t say there were equal amounts of praise and complaints. I said that people who aren’t content with the game complain on the forums, and players who are content with the game play the game.
Because of that, there’s a tendency for there to be more complaints than praise on the forums. But to say the minority of players don’t like Liadri based on the forums alone or the fact that “vocal minority” has a ring to it isn’t accurate. You’d have to compare how many people are attempting the Liadri fight vs. how many complaints about Liadri are on the forums, one method or another.
Ah I see. With that I can agree.
It’s called vocal minority. The people who hate her and have a hard time beating her will complain on the forums. While the people who actually like her are busy playing the game and getting their Liadri miniature.
The notion that there are more complaints than praise on the forums says nothing about minority or majority, it’s just the nature of whether players are playing the game or not. Players who aren’t content with the game complain on the forums, being vocal, and players who are content play the game, being just as vocal in that they’re playing the game. Adding “minority” or “majority” to that needs comparative evidence.

…..really?
To be fair it is a little silly that Magi upgrades don’t exist for exotic rarity.
Well with that I can agree.

That particular quote is really just expounding on the notion that you can progress towards end-game gear (such as it is) by various means. So, PvP, WvW, PvE, Open World, LS, etc,. and tying in with ANet’s pro-casual design direction.
Hmm, very well then.
Yeah but that was after the launch of the game.
It’s extremely important that we stay true to our philosophy that you should be able to play Guild Wars 2 the way you want to play
They clearly say stay true to our philosophy So it was already their philosophy even before Colin mentioned it again in that article.
IIRC he’s talking about getting laurel rewards via WvW tracks or something. I don’t remember exactly but it’s definitely not “you should be able to run any build you want.”
Leave it to pugs to interpret it that way I guess. Next time a “why can’t I play how I want” whiner pops on here someone remind me to ask him where he heard the phrase from.
It’s funny that even when it’s actually proven anet intented for a “play how you want” mentality the naysayers still try to twist the argument to their advantage.
Nice try. But when anet is talking about a philosophy, they are not just talking about how you can get laurels and wvw rewards.
Honestly I think you’re a bit far off there. Anet intended folks to be able to access the top level gear (at the time, exotics) by playing how they wanted. This means that casual players did not have to participate in hardcore content in order to do so, which is likely also why they introduced the laurel, because it gave casuals the ability to get the new tier, ascended, on their characters without playing fractals. I do not think it had anything to do with playing x content however you wanted, but playing the content you wanted, which are different things entirely
That actually falls more under the ‘no required grind’ promise they made.
Same here.
50 bucks for an entire continent and everything that comes with it? Sign me up!It would really suck to be the people who need to 100% map completion after than expansion launches.
GW1 handled that pretty easily.
Just have map completion based on each continent.

These people exceeding 10 hours + a day
Have you considered getting a job? you probably spend A LOT less hours doing piece of kitten work (like farming a precursor in gw2), convert money to gold and buy one instead.
Have you considered that people might be afk? for alot of that time?
In that case the numbers they give are useless. “200 hours playing, 6000 hrs afk and still no drop. RNG is messed up.”
Well I’m not one of ‘those’ people. When I play guild wars I play guild wars. Granted I have been afk a few times, but never longer than several minutes.
I never get why some people afk for hours at the time.
Same here.

Numbers don’t lie.
Players, however, do.

And expansion is a sure fire way to get people to move on from the game.
They released a ton of new content for me to enjoy. How could they do this to me, I’m going to quit..
Said no one ever.
Aren’t people who are complaining about the LS model doing exactly that? Add “and free” “every 2 weeks”, and well… yeah.
People are silly.
No because I was talking about a on (LS is just a fraction every 2 weeks) of content (LS barely is real content, as most of it is temporary and/or a mindless zerg/grind fest).
Something that can be proven, verified and or measured is a fact. An imbalance can be proven.
Oh, you mean numerical balance. That’s not the same as the balance the players experience, though.
The balance we experience – and complain about or don’t – is subjective. The numerical balance can be mathed, but it’s only related, not the same.
But what dictates the balance you experience in game, if not numbers?
Balance is anything but subjective.
Something that can be proven, verified and or measured is a fact. An imbalance can be proven.
However, this does not mean all those people saying a certain class/trait/skill is unbalanced are correct.
And expansion is a sure fire way to get people to move on from the game.

There we go, fixed for you
Except it isn’t true.
Where do you even get that idea? Like.. seriously… Many expansions that are released are great and well worth the money.
As if every expansion ever made is overpriced and only delivers a small amount of content. You are extremely delusional if you believe that.

What is the point of expansion….
It’s like movie sequels. No quality but just there to make extra money. I prefer it the way it is now without any expansions or anything like that.
And Living Story Season 1 had quality??? Oh, God…
It’s funny because living story is exactly like bad movie sequels. Except they are free so then it’s okay to ignore all it’s faults.
Anet did this early on in GW2 also. They posted up a list of names and excuses people had written in for us to read. Most of it was pretty funny.
I remember that, anet posted some really offensive (yet hilarious) character names that people actually used like adolf critler and kittenmancer (ok it got censored so I will just post it in reverse: orgen) XD
Those players got banned obviously.

Play something else for a while, take a break from the game.
The servers would explode..
Nice
They make enough money indirectly selling in game currency and dress up costumes that should’ve been obtainable through completing content.
This.
No need to make expansions when they make more than enough money already. No need to make a boxed expansion. They will definitely be expanding into new areas and content.
I hope you are right.

No thanks, they can bury Gank Sanctum as far as I’m concerned.
