So you are one of those that think that “because I’m social” is not reason enough to group with people, and the game will benefit if we force non-social people into parties?
You may disagree with one of the principles the game is built upon (no forced grouping ) but since the game is already released it’s unrealistic to ask for a U-turn now.

Most veterans are far too easy to drop worthwile loot, but increasing their strenght would make them really difficult to handle when soloing. Champions could use better loot tables and possibly more interesting/challenging fights (I soloed the champion Ooze even in Cursed Shore yesterday).
Maybe they shouldn’t be soloable? It’s an MMO, is it not?
Do you actually play the game? Have you seen how many veterans are there? I’d say they should be soloable (and they currently are) because they are pretty common, and there are many non-group events involving one or more of them. And having most content soloable is pretty okay especially considering how big our world is and how empty some zones are.
MMO =/= forced grouping everywhere.

Loving the new CoF p2 event, altough it may be a bit overtuned for the general difficulty of the dungeon path ( quite easy ). Since there’s a ton of enemies I couldn’t quite see what mobs (or how many of them) do x or y skill, but you might look into reducing their CC and possibly lowering the damage of archers. Equipping for AoE stability and using Wall of Reflection helped us quite a lot and since these two things are almost Guardian-only prerogatives you might want to design future changes with that in mind.
Completely ignoring condition damage, great theorycrafting alcopaul. Also lacks maths: make the comparison between someone that has +1000 toughness/0 vitality and someone who has +1000 vitality/0 toughness. Pull actual base values if you want to state such ominous conclusions.

I think this was planned for some skills but was scrapped for some reason. I remember reading a description of Churning Earth where it worked exactly as you stated.
Would really love to see this type of skill come back as the skill mechanics in GW2 are pretty limited ( no skillshots, for example ) and it would give combat a more action-y feeling.
I dunno. Your idea is cool and having it implemented would be a good addittion, just like we already have spiders/bandits dropping from ceilings/trees. I just think it’s a bit too taxing on their resources and, maybe due to my lack of creativity, can’t think of spawning animations of many, many enemies ( Moas and stags anyone? ).
knights is the best really since guards have the low hp pool, the vitality doesnt get boosted like the warrior so +vit gear is the least effective for guards.
I’m sorry but you are spreading misinformation. 1 point of vitality gives the same HP on all classes, no class has “boosts” to vitality but just a different amount of base HP. Vitality is as good on Guardians as it is on Warriors from a mathematical standpoint and even better if you factor in our low base HP pool.
Yes, I did, to be honest. Your answers are pretty creative, but some of them don’t really make sense. Why would ettins be green mossy water? Or blood suddenly form underwater? Also, Sons of Svanir are not “manifestation of dark energy” , but simply Norns worshipping Jormag, sometimes being corrupted by him.
How would Skritts, Jellyfishes, Sharks, Nightmare Court enemies, Bandits, Ettins, Oakhearts, Golems and Sons of Svanir spawn?

While we’re at it I’d like them to introduce 2 other classes and multiply x 3 the number of available utility/elite skills on current classes.

Hello, I’m an Italian player, I’m playing on SFR and me and some of my guildmates whose provider is telecom are having troubles with lag during the evenings.
Me and some of my italian guildmates on Seafarer’s Rest are having troubles with lag too. Our service is proveded by telecom and we have experienced heavy lag from 19: 00 CET till around 23:00 CET, basically during peak times. What has led me to believe it’s not on our end is that while the game lags heavily, other games/videos on Youtube and whanot work as usual. Should I open a different thread or is it okay for me to attach the results of the diagnostic test here?

Yes, because that shweet rank and titles are what keep people playing, they’re not an added bonus. Everytime I hop into the heart of the mists I just think of “GOTTA GET GLORY TO RANK UP!” and my playstyle is influenced by that.
No seriously, I do agree that titles/ranks take a bit too much to get, but they offer nothing but a finisher and some skins, so I’m cool with them being almost impossibile to get.
That being said, I’d like them to rework the glory system and up rewards for frees/paids because as it is, someone farming noobs in hotjoins gets more glory than top players in paids.
P.s. your math is invalid, you only get PART of your glory from kills.
Rangers and their Entangling Roots elite are a charm for this part =)
Because people are selfish and indoctrinated. Guardians are relatively better for many fights that rely on projectile reflection, I’ll give you that, but as a lv 38 fractal player, everytime I read “need heavy” I don’t know if I want to laugh or cry.
I welcome every class and once did a perfectly smooth run at lv 28 with 3 thieves.

Yes, you’ll only get a pristine/day. If you repeat a fractal lv 10-12-14 etc the same day you won’t get a pristine token.
Yes, you can do any level to get the daily.
I’m not saying that the chance is related to precision, or related to damage. I’m asking if there’s a separate crit chance for heals, governed by healing power attribute. If not, then why some of the ticks from that symbol where 500 rather than 200? P.s. I made sure not to have regen, soothing mist or my F2 active.
I’ve heard a bunch of people saying that heals (but not healing skills, the ones that go into the 6th slot ) have an hidden chance to crit that increases with your healing power. I tested for a bit with my 1233 healing power Guardian in SPvP and had no success in having Empower, Altruistic Healing, Orb of Light and mace autoattack to critically heal. Later that day I was doing WvW with one these players and he showed me that sometimes the healing ticks from staff’s symbol (symbols were traited for healing) went from 200 to 500. I looked around on the wiki/internet but found nothing on the matter. Can someone, possibly a dev, enlighten me? I’m very confused :S
For example. Someone using all Knight’s gear may want Knight’s ascended, BUT, using the ascended rings combo power/toughness/critdamage (Cavalier’s) you can substantially boost your critdamage without needing to resort to using berserkers or valkyrie gear. It’s a huge increase in damage (8% crit dmg per ring) and defense (103 toughness per ring), these blow Knight’s out of the water for a majority of builds. Most likely a person with Knight’s will be lacking crit damage, so these rings are incredible.
You guys just need to think outside the box.
Ahahah! Being ignorant =/= thinking out of the box. First of all why do you assume I’m stacking only Knight’s gear? My jewellery is Knight’s and I don’t want to spend 39s per glob of ectoplasm to change my other gear just because they can’t be bothered to release the stat combo on ascended items. That being said, what use is crit damage when you sacrifice crit chance to get it? And as many others have pointed out, critical chance is more valuable in 75% of the builds as there are lots of “on crit” traits/sigils. For example, I’d rather have 0 crit damage and the best crit chance possible to proc Empower more often
That being said, if what Suddenflame is true (p.s. we get it you don’t want us to ask questions now that you expressed your point of view can you get out plz?) , why is it taking so long? If more stats were announced 2 months ago, where did they go? And don’t come and tell me it takes a lot of development time because it does not.

Seafarer’s Rest has people constantly playing in Wayfarer Foothills, Cursed Shore, Malchor’s Leap, Kessek Hills, Queensdale + a costant overflow in LA and considering our population is one of lowest…yeah, it might be your server.
It’s not even a one-hit-k.o. unless you are a full glass cannon or wearing greens. I can tank three of the things in my fully equipped Knight’s gear and that’s not even with protection up. 3 Classes out of 8 can move out of one incoming AoE when downed. Mesmer can distortion-ress or cast illusion of life ( which is instant ), ranger thieves and warriors can quickness-ress. Guardians can block with focus and f3 + retreat allows them and the downed guy to soak up two hits without taking any dmg. And people shouldn’t be going down often in the first place. Alpha’s quite easy once you learn his move set.
And even if the fight is better done meleeing, which can be argued, what’s the problem with that? Many other fights are better fought from far away.

Actually yes i have and FOTM had to be thought of prior to that date. Cause there is far more work in making a dungeon then it takes to make a champion anyone who has ever made a game knows this! Even ask LoL developers it takes a long time to make a single map. Dominion took them over 1 year to make the map for. SO everything your suggesting that Anet started after the game was released is false. The idea and art along with the core concepts and code had to exist prior to that 2.5 months considering everything they released that day. Dude it takes a long time to build stuff espically the detail that is being placed into the landscape.
Sure it took a lot of time to make FoTM, but this is not what we are discussing, and you ignored my post. We are discussing the items themselves, and adding different stats combinations on a set of items being introduced takes very little development time as you have to come up with a name/icon/description and that’s it, and 3+ months is enough to get -at least- Cleric/Knight/Whatever RINGS , if they wanted to implement them. This means they CHOSE not to implement them, and all we’re asking is “why?”. That being said I’ll stop posting because I have made my points, your ears seem deaf and I have nothing to add to the thread anymore. Here’s hoping that they will answer us.
Please Arenanet, fix this 6 months old game-altering bug instead of the infinite spin bug.

Are you seriously comparing creating a champion to slapping some stats, a name and an icon together? Sure Anet works really fast and has added lot of content/polishing to the game, I’m not complaining at all and in fact I just bought 800 gems to show my support. But color me impressed if they didn’t add said stats combination because it took too much to come up with a name and an icon xD It is obviously a choice or a ( really big ) oversight unless a dev explicitly states something, and that is what I’m asking for, a response. I’m not saying add those items NAO, but I’d like to know why they’re not already in in the first place.

My comparison might be terrible and still be better than yours. League of Legends developers announced something that wasn’t fully ready, then they scrapped the project and the announcement backfired on them. They learned from their mistake and said they wouldn’t be announcing anything unless it was fully ready, just like someone from Anet yesterday said they won’t be releasing the patch notes until the patch is actually released. This is the behaviour you are referring to and I have no problems with it, as it’s pretty reasonable and understandable.
Sure, they didn’t remove anything, but as more Ascended Gear gets released, probably in the next two months, the combination stats that are ignored get progressively “removed”.

Lagging, disconnecting and getting stuck in loadings too. Has been going on for a little more than one hour here. Pretty sure it’s not my internet since other games work just fine and I have a good internet connections. SFR server of course.

Suddenflame your comparison is moot, we are not asking Arenanet what’s gonna be on the next patch or what are their plans for expansion, we are asking their reasoning behind halving the possible stat combinations with ascended gear. It’s not a question about future content which may or may not be released on time, it’s a question about design decision. For example, many years ago LoL’s devs removed an item, Innervating Locket, and they explained why they did that and why it was good for the game.
@ SuddenFlame an equally (offensively) equipped warrior should be able to down you after a long fight. If this doesn’t happen, then you fix the stats and skill scaling instead of removing them/their combinations.
Otherwise Anet basically says “look this combination is too strong so you only get it on weaker items” which doesn’t make sense.

I opened a similar thread regarding the lack of Knight’s gear yesterday but am noticing that this one is more general and better worded so I’ll let that other one die and voice my opinion here.
Seems like Arenanet doesn’t like these combinations and while the lack of + healing power might be understandable (but imo not justifiable) as they don’t want to have dedicated healers, I really cannot wrap my head around Knight’s as it’s not even a min-maxing combo ( like their beloved Berserker is ). What is wrong in building a middle-ground tanky dps that can take decent punishment and deal decent damage? Soldier doesn’t cut it because it sacrifices too much damage and crit chance is really important for many traits/sigils ( Guardian Crithammer, for example ).
If a dev could explain me the reasoning behind these changes I’d be very happy.

Knight is Power Precision Toughness. And you don’t make people “think more about end game stats” through removing the “best” combinations and forcing on them non-synergetic ones. That just frustrates the heck out of me, especially when we have things like Berserker. You do it by providing more on par combinations.

It doesn’t exist, and hasn’t been introduced with the new amulets. We got, again, the horrible “power toughness % crit dmg” combo tough. I’m asking the devs, why? What is wrong with Knight’s gear and why are you purposefully not making this combination of stats available?
