my friend had PCI-E 2.0 x16@x1 2.0
wrong PCI-E!
PCI-E is correct when…
PCI-E 2.0 x16@ x16 2.0
then he switch PCI-E and no more problems
P/W intel is better…
I am running 3,5GHz at 1.18Vcore (stock 1.325Vcore)
- 4,5GHz 1.375Vcore (stock 1.42Vcore for 3,8GHz)
actually 3,5Ghz can handle GW2 just fine.
how did your friend get i3 to 4,3GHZ?
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
Not really … Guild wars uses 4 cores…. so FX will beat i3…
I highly doubt that. Buddy has a hugely overclocked i3 at around 4.3 GHz, third generation and it slams my FX-8350. I bet at stock clocks it does better.
Overclocked i3 to 4,3Ghz?
I have 3,5GHz at 1.188vcore – thats why i dont OC it… cause it has great P/W.
For other games 3,0Ghz is enough but only need 1.095V
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
Yeap i5 2/3/4*** is enough.
But still P/P athlon x4 or FX8320/6300
Dont you understand me? It is not CPU/GPU who is bottlenecking … it is server.
I did test and as you can see this game use 4 cores.
Intel has better Single CPU performance but it is not that much faster…
EDIT
At first i thought that overclocking my FX from 3,5Ghz to 4,5GHz will boost FPS in GW2… but i dont get boost in LA even CPU usage goes from 60-65% to 50%…
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
Maybe can be your HDD…
did you change your drivers?
what about network connection?
Try to OC your CPU…
what about shadows ?
Just try to run it on lowest resolution…
GPU drivers – ?
AND try game with on lowest settings
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
it is you CPU
Set:
Character model limit : Lowest
I’ve considered that it’s possibly because the game will only make use of 2 of my cpu cores and AMD cpu’s don’t have the greatest single core performance, but I’d like to know if I can get a better experience out of the game
There is sadly nothing you can do to help the performance accept overclock but it doesn’t help it much. I had a AMD 8150 oc to 4.5ghz and still my game suffered. I switched to intel i7 3930k and the performance boost was amazing. As you mentioned the AMD cpu has horrible single core performance and GW2 runs on a single core. The only way to get better framerates is to switch to intel. You could get the intel i7 3770 or the 4770 for better gaming experience. Or you could get the 3930k like mine. Hope that helps.
Not really … Guild wars uses 4 cores…. so FX will beat i3…
MY benchmarks
2 cores usage 100%
3 cores usage 100%
4 cores usage 80-90%
6 cores usage 50-65%
I tried with i7 3770 and same droops happens … WHY? poor server optimization
Solution?
OC FX 6300 to 3,8GHz+ (you will be able with stock cooler)
Turb off bios
set 1.25-1.275vcore 3,8Ghz you can go for 4,0GHz with 1,3V-1.325V.
HPC on
All power saver – off
Set character limit to lowest
with i7 just set character limit to lowest
better network you get you better performance i tried and it work better….
PS: When you played with FX 8150 it was probably poor optimization for FX
have a nice day
cmud.5689,
your GPU is a bottleneck…
GT640 4GB drr?3/5
Just buy a better GPU at least 7770. I recommend you R9 270/X – you may get it with BF4.
EDIT: Check that you use NVIDIA GPU (drivers up to date)…
Let me point something out here. The game rarely uses more than three core’s worth of performance so going from a quad to a hex core won’t make much of a difference but clock speed does. Now I don’t know how well a 1100T BE overclocks beyond the 3.4MHz you got with the 945 but it’s likely not going to be a significant amount without a decent cooler, a bit of luck and deep OC mojo. I see that 4.2GHz is possible (pureoverclock.com) which could give you a 20% boost over what you have if you can finesse it up to that speed.
Overclock your CPU NB
That is worth the two hundred if OP cannot afford a new board, Fermi.
Hitting that Phenom II up to around 3.8 or 4.1 GHz would maybe grant better FPS than my FX-8350.
not really
40-50FPS in LA at max setting only character model limit : lowest
Big fights 30-40 FPS even pikes to 28-27 FPS but still playable
Again settings
High

Win 7 patch fo FX
FX 6300 4,5Ghz
I get 33+ in LA and still GPU bottleneck.
MY setting
All on max
shader : off
shadows : off
Character limit : lowYeap go for APU- steamroller but iGPU will be your bottleneck
If your GPU is bottle necking you, then upgrade it. GPU-Z will tell you what % the GPU is being used. You want 99%, but at Max Settings. If you turn off all the Shaders, Shadows and such, can you get your GPU to drop down in the 60% range?
It is GPU bottleneck
When i lower my resolution my FPS goes UP. GPu usage 95-99% so thats not bottleneck?
5870 900/1250 stock voltages is not that strong to run that game at max. Shadows and shaders kills it…
My FPS are form 27-40 but when i lower my resolution 33-57….
Disable your second GPU in AMD catalyst
Pls dont believe everyone…
http://postimg.org/image/esl17cm6p/
I did that picture
You see fx 4,5GHz 50 FPS? U crazy?
real fps are 20-25… even drops to 18-19
GW2 use 3 core up to 90-95% so that actually good… But i would like to see all six cores at 85-90% that would be perfect… But it is not going to happen.
http://postimg.org/image/nyinssmup/
that FPS are really good…
Win 7 patch fo FX
FX 6300 4,5Ghz
I get 33+ in LA and still GPU bottleneck.
MY setting
All on max
shader : off
shadows : off
Character limit : low
Yeap go for APU- steamroller but iGPU will be your bottleneck
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
Just putt you character limit to low or lowest … it solved my problem.
Everything else is on max except shadows and shader, because GPU limit .
I have AMD/INtel CPUs. FX 6300 and i7 3770. Both are great CPU.
So I am not fan of INTEL or AMD.
I prefer you i5/i7 or FX6300/FX8320 they are all good CPUs.
Intel expensive and really good. AMD is cheap and has more cores.
I notice that AMD is trying to give best performance. Many benchmarks mostly cripple AMD CPUs…
I know that you heard for AMD mantle – cant wait. I can only hope that GW2 will support AMD Mantle. Actually right know i would rather support AMD because this company is trying to give us better performances. It would feel good when you see all 4/8 cores at 100% (i7) while running game…
Sorry for my “ENGLISH”
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
yeah but GTX 760 is overpriced… R9 270X is right now really good GPu for that price… or R9 280X is ….
Yep GTX 760 is enough but like a said small difference between R9 270X but price is differenc… For that money you get i5 4670K OC to 4,4-4,5Ghz will give u in this game much better perfromance than stock i5 4440
Check prices between GTX 760 vs R9 270X/ 280X
Everybody will recommend you better GPU… Just read this
If it you get R9 270X about 40-50$ less then go with it. Change i5 to i5 4670K + mobo to OC.
- CPU will last much longer than GPU it is worth to spend that much money.
If we look back.
i5 2300 vs i5 2500K
I5 2300 with 5870 and i5 2500K with 5850.
But now i5 2300 + R9 280X vs i5 2500K 4,5Ghz + R280X
Point maybe is better to have OC CPU better MB than just better GPU, why?
From i5 2*** to i5 4*** is no big difference gaming, but between 5870 and R9 290 it is HUGE!
After few years just OC CPU to 4,5Ghz like i5 2500K…. AND buy newGPU!
^^ edited from 40% to 35-40% to 25-35%
Yep, cause of minimum FPS —- if wee look at avg. (intel has much better MAX. FPS) it is 35-40% – but this is does not count for fights, battles just open world searching…
And there Intel destroy AMD both CPUs has more than 80 FPS…
LA is total different story even i7 is not capable to deliver good FPS…
i was disappointed with INTEL and GW2 optimization…
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
i5 vs i7, cpu update equals fps increase?

Wait for next gen. of CPU not worth spending money for haswell if you all ready have i5….
http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/09/12/intel-reveal-new-broadwell-cpu-technology-due-out-next-year/
wait for broadwell
Nah you dont bealive me i have better score than i3 with FX 6300 we tested…
Read again. The exact opposite was proven.
We did benchmarks. i7 vs FX 6300
25-35% all at stocks – same city same world and same time…
All depends on how much people is at LA
Sometimes i get more than 35FPS at LA – sometimes 25 …..
Shadows to max and sharders – GPU bottleneck when i have 25 FPS in LA
You dont have to believe it.. because i dont care…
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
Nah you dont bealive me i have better score than i3 with FX 6300 we tested…
How many cores it use?
2 – 100%
3 – 85-95%
……
Please believe me … ur right but not double perfromance
even intel fail sometime
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Super-Low-FPS-with-high-end-Gaming-Pc/first#post3170699
Better perfromance on WIN8
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
GW2 is not CPU bound game… bad optimization… I think i7 with 100% usage…
140 FPS at ultra in BF4 with GTX 660 OC 1080p 4xmsaa? yeah sure…
——- Your GPu is golden + x2 haha

Indeed future game development linked to consols will help alot with multithreaded CPUs lik the AMD FX8 series.
But i also personaly like this becouse the minority of peopel that use Intel 6core 12 thread i7’s will also see a very nice boost
Your CPU will get boost in some games that will support AMD mantle… ANd if GW2 would support 8 threads/cores …..
Huh nice FPS. But why no FXAA?
4,6Ghz nice overclock for that CPU… 24/7?
If this game will support AMD mantle (almost impossible) that i7 would ……
So FX 6300/FX8320 are really good for their price
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
Shadows on max destroys my PC
i have character limit on lowes – on max takes me about 4-5FSp more so 28FPS min 25-24 – still good but it is no difference for me just on lowest is smoother… so
All the rest do shadows.. – instability low minimum FPS …. every thing…
http://postimg.org/image/i1nqzivpj/
Under this setting it never falls under 28-29 FPS
also little of GPU bottleneck
Behellagh.1468
On max setting your iGPu is bottleneck…. but u have space to OC your CPU – 3,3-3,6Ghz
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
Go in LA
Max setting take a picture with FPS on screen
Okay
When i move my camera fast in all ways
Goes even under 16 …= 13.4FPS
But when i am walking around it just stays at 19 FPS. Okay sometimes goes in some benchmarks goes like 17-18 FPS.
I have 4,5GHz FX 6300….
So i have better FPS than you….
FX 6300 4,5Ghz all maxed out 50-55%.
minimum 19 avarage 25 max 35.
I saw his GPU.
650 Ti is enough for minimum 30 FPS.
Only for AMD CPUs… Game CPU is not demanding if i3 can run it ….. and much better than Crysis 3/BF4 MP….
Fermi
Please tell me your FPS and your CPU usage in LA max settings?
Try to overclock that CPU
Should have better FPS.
That CPu is not much faster than yours — It has only stronger GPU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlxCfn94O8w
You can buy i3-i5, but you will need to buy better GPU then it is gonna cost you
50$MB + 7.1 sound at least 65$
190$CPU i5 4430 – 125$ i3 4130
i3 185-200$
i5 225-240$
or quick solution put animation/shaders to LOW! Or put everithing to low except textures/ sampling…
This game is demanding as CPU as GPU….
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
Phaha you should go then for at least 5,0Ghz
This game is not optimized for AMD-CPUs
Okay
This may help you to improve your performance.
Disable turbo/
Then go to CPU features and setup 1 core per module.
Try it then
Give CPU fan to MAX! – only if you have stock cooler
Then do prime 95 after 25 min check your max. core T (62 is maximum)
Check your stock core voltages.
OC. If you have non-stock Air cooler 30$+
Disable all power options give off
Then vcore – 1.425 + LLC ultra high
Multip. : 22.5 = 4,5Ghz
- should be stable
And again this game is not optimized for AMD CPUs.
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
That should be drivers with your GPU.
Yep.
FX 4300 beats i3….
FX 6300 with all 6 cores under 100% load should do better then i5 3***/2*** under 100% load…
There is no game that would use all of 6 cores 100% – maybe BF4 after support mantle
http://www.bf4blog.com/battlefield-4-retail-gpu-cpu-benchmarks/
That is unimportant… every game has its own game engine and a lot of them runs better on Intel…
http://www.extremetech.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/CB-Scaling1.png
Look at the picture
highest score is FX 8150 with 1 core per module! so 4C/4M
Second score is FX 8150 with all 8 cores up but only 4 threads – set in cinebench R15
third score is FX 8150 with 2 cores per module on 2 modules = 2C/4T
I sorry for that reaction. FX 6100 (higher clock) is not same as FX 6300
So do you understand now?
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
Sobe.4157
1 core per module is faster – total 3 cores…
Cinebench R15
3C/3T = 310cb Fx-4,5Ghz
2C/4T = 360cb FX-4,5Ghz
Core per core
2C/3T = 90cb per core
3C/3T = 103cb per core
And because GW2 will use only 3 cores about 85-95%, 3 cores will be faster by 15%
And because of less heat on CPU you will easily get your CPU with 1.55V (30$ air cooler) under 60C
DID U GET IT?

Look here is thing
AMD 3 core are better than Intels 2….
I say it like this FX 3,8Ghz 3 cores = i3 3240 3,4 Ghz + hyperthr.same score at cinebench
All is about AMD or Intel
Set 1 core per module… bulldozer is faster with that… Vishera is not….
With Mugen 4 or macho HR-02 or true spirit 120/140 should be able to put over 5,1-5,2Ghz if you use only 1 core per module…
offcourse at least 1.55-1.58V
I didnt try it may require less Vcore for higher OC.
Any1 with 3C/3T BF3 Mp64 min FPS 50 – very impressive
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
The game is not optimized for AMD cores… And it will newer be…
I did Cinebench R15 3C/3T cores 305 point same as i3 3*** with 2C/4T
It use 85-99% of my CPU usage when i am in LA – I should be getting same perfroamnce or even better than i3….
1 Core per module modules 4C/4T 4 cores – may be faster than 2 cores per modules 2C/4T – 4 cores … You will be able higher OC because cores will be cooler
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)
You should try to overclock it.
U have stock cooler?
Stock should be enough for 2,6-2,8Ghz
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hr46Pcw-LSw
Watch T
and What MOBO do you have?
You should get better performance
