Everything's too easy now

Strange looking thread to me.

I was running around on my level80 mesmer in sparkfly fen,
joined a small group trying to pug down the champion summoned
lich. It was not easy, we did not win in the available time. It was also
fun.

Maybe the theme people are complaining about here is more along
the lines of “Everything I can zerg with a large group that overpowers
the encounter is too easy now”.

That might make more sense since with a megaserver, I’d guess it’s
easier to organize a huge zerg to take on a game encounter, if that
is what you want to do.

My suggestion here would be if you don’t like to blast through
game encounters with an overpowering zerg, search for the
encounters that don’t attract huge zergs. There are plenty.

Yes, there are plenty, but those encounters are obscure and unrewarding. That champ you fought isn’t one of the big world bosses. What sucks is that they already tried to make champs more rewarding and what did it get us? Queensdale/Frostgorge champ trains; equally as boring zergfest.

Hey Anet, all of this experimentation has been great, but I think we’ve all learned about human behavior in this game. People do a simple math equation. They measure easiness vs reward and chose the best breakpoint on the chart of success. Everyone flocks to that answer. The problem with this game is the answer to that equation is currently zerg content. Zerging is too easy and too rewarding. Hard content is not rewarding enough to justify the challenge. Also in many cases the hard content isn’t hard for the right reasons and/or is terribly designed. Take triple wurm for example. Great fight mechanics. Terrible rewards. Prohibitively difficult to organize properly due to open world implementation.

And please don’t try to make dungeons/instances the most rewarding/easy thing. We will just end up back at CoF P1 grind. That is unless you plan to actually buckle down and really focus on making ALL dungeon paths relatively equal in length vs challenge vs reward and remove exploits such as corner stacking and skipping.

On the other things, Anet must learn something:
- Harder content is not taking events like World Bosses from 2-3min of Auto-Attack do 7-10min of Auto-Attack.

World bosses shouldn’t even be a focus of this game. It’s become painfully obvious that any time there are more than 10 players involved, the content becomes mindless autoattack afk while you check facebook. The only time this isn’t true is in fights like 3 headed wurm, because there are mechanics that must be dealt with which go beyond DPS. There are almost no other encounters currently that have such mechanics. 95% of bosses are simply DPS race. Anet would have to rehaul all bosses in the game to incorporate additional mechanics. Looking at their track record for updating this game, I’d say that ain’t gonna happen. The most we can hope for is 1 new boss per year with fun mechanics, but horrendous spawn timers, organization issues, and garbage loot.

Ok people complain about things be very easy, but went anet give some challenger all people complain and avoid it.

Take the 3 head wurm many people just avoid it because is very hard. Say a squad that do AC without skip or stacking and you are called crazy and probably kicked. We have some challenging dungeons but people don’t want do then.

I remember went the game was release, and I finish some dungeons literally naked, they was so hard and people start complaining about that.

We have what the people ask, sadly.

It’s sad to be given challenging content and people avoid it or exploit to make it easy. The thing is, Anet didn’t quite give us exactly what we asked for. They tried and I’ll give them credit, but the implementation of the Wurm in open world is not ideal at all. They tried to change AC to be better but people still find new ways to trivialize things.

Anet should have kept driving those developments forward. Instead they only changed a couple things and gave up. They stopped working to improve dungeons and started focusing on living world. Anet doesn’t seem to have the manpower or interest to continue improving all aspects of the game simultaneously. Instead it seems like they have a small team that shifts focus on a monthly basis, developing things hear and there at random. The end result is that all of the different parts of the GW2 community feel neglected in between small, infrequent, insubstantial bits of slight improvement.

Ask the open world/living story fans how they feel. They might say the story sucked, the zerging is boring and laggy.

Ask the WvW community how they feel and they might say they are neglected. After nearly 2 years they finally get account exp and a karma train map.

Ask PvP players and they might say Anet hates us. The balance is terrible (not my personal opinion, but many say it). They got a couple new maps, but Skyhammer is garbage, and they may not appreciate having their ranks trivialized. Not to mention their system of armor/weapon skins was destroyed by the wardrobe. I’m not sure how they feel about PvE rewards being shoehorned in to their environment. I personally like them, but I can’t imagine hardcore pvpers enjoying the idea of grinding gold and skill points for traits, runes, and sigils.

Ask the dungeon people how they feel. I imagine them stacking in the corner to kill bosses must feel pretty lame and boring after a while. It’s monotonous and mind-numbing. It’s also almost like they are hiding in those corners; afraid, nay, terrified of the day when Anet decides to nerf their strategy.

tl;dr – Anet’s live team is too small and/or spread thin. The GW2 community is fragmented and Anet can’t cater to them all at once, so we all feel neglected and like anything Anet tries to do is not enough or is negative.

Zerging will never be balanced. Zerging will always trivialize content. This game was originally designed around 5 man content. That’s why dungeons are 5 man and tpvp is 5v5. That’s why conditions are so powerful in 5 man situations and so useless in zergs. I don’t have a link because it was so long ago, but I remember Anet saying in interviews before beta that they balanced/designed all combat around 5 man because it’s easier to find 5 friends for an activity than 20, 30, 40+. They wanted to do away with “waiting to have fun”. Does anyone else remember that? Anet obviously doesn’t. They can’t stop pushing the mindless autoattack zergs gameplay. I’m sick of it. Zergs are not fun.

I’m really depressed right now. I usually support Anet, but this is the first time I’ve found myself losing faith in this company. The lack of substantial content left behind by the living world over the last 1.5 years and this boneheaded boss schedule are just terrible.

Karka Queen for me happens at 12 noon, 9:30pm, and 6:30am. The only time I can hope to attend is the 9:30pm time. 12 noon I’m busy at school. 6:30am I’m still asleep. I’d love to be able to unlock these traits they added to the game without spending gold and skill points. You know, earning a unique ability for completing a challenge? Isn’t that the intended spirit of the new way you obtain traits? I keep missing the one realistic spawn window for Karka Queen due to real life stuff getting in the way. There is no good logical reason Karka Queen can’t spawn more often. Shadow behemoth spawns 4-6 times in between. Why? Who needs to do Shadow Behemoth 6+ times a day? Slot some Karka Queen in there instead please!

Oh and the triple wurm is now basically an exclusive raid boss accessible ONLY to megaguilds. Why is it even an open world boss at this point? Why not move it to a dungeon instance? Why even bother with these new guild event things. It only spawns such that any given individual can only attend one of the 3 times per 24 hours. If you want to get multiple attempts in, you HAVE to form a megaguild and dump merits. This game is quickly turning in to WoW raiding where they have daily and weekly lockouts and spawn timers.

Watch, one day they will add a Time-Lost Protoquaggan somewhere and people will have to spend literally weeks of their lives camping for it to spawn.

P.S.
And another thing, Anet. All that work you were trying to do with the Marionette and triple wurm; getting people to learn to be more organized and cooperative in open world. All of that effort is down the drain now that you set it up so that every single event is part of one gigantic zerg train where everyone afk auto attacks in between waypointing and checking their facebook. Assuming you make it in time for a boss, that event is now the biggest snoozefest I’ve ever seen in a video game. And I played Fable 3.

What happened to the Anet that talked about designing this game for 5-man content? I clearly remember when people asked “Why are your dungeons 5 man?” Anet’s response was that they wanted to balance everything for that number of people in an encounter, whether it be a dungeon or pvp. The last time I remember using my brain in this game was about 2 months after launch when I still had some yellow/green gear equipped in an explorable dungeon. Now that people stack in the corner with full ascended, even dungeons are boring too. Forget about open world zergwars 2.

No, I don’t want them to ruin any more armor sets from GW1… Just look at that piece of kitten they turned profane into.

If they bring back Obsidian it better NOT be from the gem store the same way tormented weapons are. Not only do they look like plastic toys now but they have lost the prestige of being an elite content reward.

I rather like the profane set, minus the mask and shoulders. Anyway I agree about obsidian. Those skins should be ascended/legendary and obtainable from some epic boss like the triple wurm. There needs to be more elite content reward skins.

Wait, NPCs can wear other cultural armor?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Xenon.4537

I’d like to know that reason, hence why I created this post. How can they justify lore-wise the fact that NPCs can wear cultural armor of other races while PCs cannot?

Firstly, “justify” is such a strong word. It’s like you’re implying there is criminal activity involved here… It’s a video game lol.

Anyway, the reason is simply this:

Gameplay > Lore

Everyone knows the implications of cultural armor and how it works. The fact that only human players can wear human cultural armor is part of the game mechanics. The mechanics were designed to give each race an exclusive and distinct visual aesthetic. The lore reasoning for it is superficial. Maybe that asuran NPC is just a really wealthy and important guy. Maybe he bribed a human tailor to craft him the outfit. Maybe he used to be human, but he got involved in some silly Inquest experiment… Who knows?

When can we get real features?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Xenon.4537

Xenon.4537

Many people are easily confused about what exactly a “feature” is in a video game. A feature is a distinctive attribute or aspect of something. It can also be difficult to distinguish a feature from a mechanic. The terminology is not always clear. I’m not saying I’m happy about the lack of good content updates to this game, but the upcoming patch was always advertised as a feature patch and I am very excited about what it is bringing.

To clarify, features are things like:
- wardrobe
- account bound stuff
- housing (eventually…)
- GvG (eventually…)
- guild halls (eventually…)

Mechanics are things like:
- traits
- sigils/runes
- dodging etc

And content is stuff like:
- new maps
- missions
- quests
- new dungeons

So when Anet starts using the word “content” then you can expect those types of things, and not before.

I think you are getting up in your head too much. Obviously you aren’t supposed to sit in earth attunement all the time. You’re supposed to switch in to it to mitigate damage, then switch out of it to deal dps.

I don’t profess to be an expert on Ele, but 10-13 seconds cooldown on an ability which can give you:

- crit immunity
- 33% damage reduction
- 120 toughness
- aoe cripple
- powerful defensive weapon skills

It would be nice if someone could calculate the effective % damage reduction gained by having crit immunity to a standard zerker build. Like, how much dps does a zerker lose if they never crit?

- Crit immunity means nothing if you are no threat until you swap out. Once that happens you are going to be a BIG target for burst.

- 33% damage reduction? How so. If you are counting the protection from going into Earth, that is a 20point trait in Arcana.

- Toughness is nothing compared to the insane burst some classes can do

- Oh yeah a MINOR cripple that lasts 3 seconds, oh yeah thats a REAL threat…

- “powerful defensive skills” Yeah, Earth has like Three on different weapons and only two can be used together and which really overlap. Them being Magnetic Aura(Staff) and Magnetic Wave and Obsidian Flesh (Focus) everything else Earth offers is simply not a “powerful defensive skill”

You are also missing the point. They WILL crit. They just won’t crit all the time. The moment you leave Earth which you will have no choice but to either to heal or if you actually want to deal damage then you have a HUGE target on your head.

I can actually see this being WORSE for the ele, classes will just tickle the ele, doing enough damage to get the ele into Earth but holding enough burst back for when they are forced out of it. This could just end up meaning that players will just burst even harder the moment they know the ele isn’t in Earth and hold back enough when they are.

Yeah, like the guy above me said, stop thinking like you should be sitting in 1 attunement all day. Of course you have to swap to deal damage. I’m not missing the point at all. You’re missing the point that earth is designed for defense, and this trait simply makes that defense stronger. You only go earth if you want to mitigate damage or apply some CC. Or in the case of staff or dagger- drop an aoe bleed bomb.

Why I don't like Stone Heart...

in Elementalist

Xenon.4537

I think Stone Heart was basically meant to turn earth attunement into a anti-spike state that you pop whenever you see a thief running at you, or a warrior CC and 100blading you. Combined with protection, stability, and other earth attunement buffs, you won’t even need to use a skill like obsidian flesh to mitigate burst.

The problem is, ALL the classes have fast and easily accessible burst. You might prevent the first burst attempt. Unless you stay in the attunement that is no threat you will just be hit with the next one.

This sort of style will still end the same way – The burst WILL come and we have very little we can do about it. This trait makes it even worse in that Anet doesn’t see that. They think we will be able:

1) See burst coming. Go Earth
2) Negate the burst
3) Be a threat
4) Move to another attunement
5) attack them
6) see burst coming. Go Earth

It won’t work like that, especially against classes that have burst on cool downs lower than our attunement cool downs. They will just keep attacking, force us out to heal and then burst us know that we have at least 10seconds of being at high risk.

I think you are getting up in your head too much. Obviously you aren’t supposed to sit in earth attunement all the time. You’re supposed to switch in to it to mitigate damage, then switch out of it to deal dps.

A game is all about fun. And the question is:

is it more fun to:
1: re-gear a GW2 ele (underpowered class, already quite broken) because our ascended set we spent time and money on got nerfed to the ground?
or
2: discover the world of a new big MMO?

Fun is subjective.

What is more fun?

1. The painful endeavor of abandoning one game to begin grinding through yet another mmo that may or may not be any good, and run the risk of coming full circle to the disappointing realization that you just wasted months of your life on something you don’t enjoy, while coming up with overly long sentences to use in pseudo-occam’s razer straw man arguments.

or

2. A new outlook on stats and gear.

So everything except celestial gets a boost? Which stat you gonna change to, if you had the choice?

I would go full zerker.

They’re nerfing stacking sigils also so you lose stacks on unequip. Which means as an ele, I can’t run S/D anymore and pull my staff out for the zerg fests without losing my stacks.

The only logical choice is then just go full zerg and use staff full time.

I can tell you from experience that would be a pretty bad idea, especially in WvW. The day I finished my full zerk set on ele, I walked in to the borderlands. Got about 20 yards past the gate. 1 shot by a thief. His avatar didn’t even finish rendering before I was dead. He hit me with mug, backstab, and an auto attack for like 17k from 1200 range from stealth, and I only had 10k health to begin with. PvE performance isn’t much better, unless you are lucky enough to be ignored 24/7. Personal experience I usually am the sole focus target of enemies when I go zerker. The worms at the start of TA for example, refuse to attack anything else in a 2000 radius.

Ok, has everyone forgotten that when they first announced the crit change, they said that this was actually the first phase in a series of changes to address the zerker meta? I can understand the frustration directed towards the crit changes only if this were the end of the changes being made. A lot of the arguments are being made in a vacuum of information, or more aptly, arguing the efficacy of the changes within the current meta. I’m not saying don’t be critical the situation as it stands, by all means, do so. But keep in mind, it has been said that more changes are coming pursuant the change to crit. We can’t ignore that in these discussions but it is difficult to look ahead when we don’t have a whole lot to go on. What do you think might be the next logical step after a change to how crit is calculated to increase the benefit of other roles while keeping glass cannons relevant?

I love you for using the words “efficacy” and “pursuant.” <3

Came up to conclusion that they want to make something fresh even by force, cause in April there is TESO going out with simmilar wvw system (almost the same), with also non trinity rule. Same thing was with WoW when gw2 was coming out. They forced out addition, like in panic on similar date and they decreased price for game itself.

They have been working on these changes since last year. They decided to stop adding balance and features in small amounts, and instead release them all at the same time in a big patch.

Actually i currently have 72% crit dmg with my ele.

After the patch it’ll be around 50%., That’s a 22% lose in damage. No amount of power/pres/cd/vit/tough could make up for that in pvp terms.

Considering the general rule is max 10% for zerker… it’s far high for celestial user which contains a time BLOCK on crafting.

22% less crit damage is not an overall -22% in overall damage. Also, the 10% for zerker is 10% less damage overall. I believe the loss in crit damage for zerker is 25% or higher.

I updated the OP that I was using http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/ in PvE mode to come up with these numbers. I had no traits invested. I was only looking at the gear values. They said Celestial in sPvP is going to be affected differently, and that crit damage in sPvP wouldn’t be affected anyway.

Celestial is probably getting the better end of the deal considering everything with crit on it will be getting nerfed. They didn’t say they were boosting anything on berserker or assassins. So in a sense Celestial is actually getting a buff to overall sustained damage and mitigation values.

Besides Celestial is for those who wish to play hybrid, its value to anyone who only wants to play a pure will always be considered inferior, while anyone who likes to think beyond the dps numbers game will see a higher value for it.

I think most people are fully acclimated to the zerker meta at this point and it is difficult to judge how other changes such as traits/runes/sigils will affect celestial. Everyone is fixated on that crit damage nerf. I think celestial will be less effective for certain classes, but even more effective for others such as Engi or Ele. Think of the swapping sigils finally working + having 2 of them on a 2 hander on a class that weapon swaps every 4-5 seconds and is designed to take advantage of more than just one stat.

29% less crit made up for with 36% more other stats. That’s about 69% overall improvement.

Whereas before that 62% consisted entirely of +crit damage importance, which is getting a nerf across the board.

It’s not going to be the exact same gear that it was but it’ll be a little stronger in gain overall.

It’ll probably still be one of the better ferocity gains in several situations where you’re going to mix n’ match simply because you can pad your stats overall in addition to setting break points in places like condition damage, etc.

You can set your desired breakpoints, gain better padding everywhere else, and still get decent ferocity.

Alas, poor assassin gear.

I’m gonna play devil’s advocate against my own post here, but that 36% increase to other stats might not be worth the loss in crit damage. 36% accounts for defensive stats. For damage stats, you are losing 30% crit damage and gaining 6% of condi, power, and precision, which is 18%. So theoretically Celestial is getting an 18% defense buff at the expense of a 12% DPS nerf.

The rest of the stats should get a boost.

That, and/or getting also boon and condition duration stats.

I think people might underestimate the benefit of having 36% more overall effectiveness due to the other stats. Sure you are losing 30% crit damage, but you are gaining 6% more power damage, 6% more condi damage, 6% more precision, 6% more vitality, 6% more toughness, etc. You will certainly do less dps. There is no question. But you gain some sustainability. We should wait and test the waters to see how it works out after all the other changes.

I think the problem with adding boon/condi duration to celestial is it renders the Giver’s set kind of pointless. Anet would have to go and create a new stat for boon duration the same way they added Ferocity.

So I decided to run some numbers after reading the critical damage blog post. I know what the majority of responses will be to this. After the patch, crit damage will be replaced with ferocity, and celestial gear will receive a 6% boost to it’s current stats. Due to rounding, I will post a low and high possible value. This is done using ascended quality with http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/ in PvE mode.

Slot – original value – new low value – new high value

Helm —-——- 21 – 22 – 23
Shoulder —- 16 – 17 – 18
Chest —-—— 47 – 48 – 49
Glove —-—— 16 – 17 – 18
Pants —-——- 31 – 32 – 33
Boots —-—— 16 – 17 – 18
Amulet —-— 54 – 57 – 58
Ring —-——— 43 – 45 – 46
Ring —-——— 43 – 45 – 46
Earring —-— 38 – 40 – 41
Earring —-— 38 – 40 – 41
Back —-——- 22 – 23 – 24
1hander —- 42 – 44 – 45
2hander —- 83 – 87 – 88

Total with 1 handers = 469 – 491 – 505
Total with 2 handers = 468 – 490 – 503

The blog post says at level 80, it will take 15 ferocity to get 1% crit damage. With this in mind the new crit damage according to my numbers will be somewhere between 32.66% and 33.66%. This is in stark contrast to the old 62%. We are losing about 30% crit damage. However, all of the other stats combined are giving 36% more than before.

Edit: So the buff/nerf breakdown is…

Power: +6%
Precision: +6%
Condi: +6%
Crit Dmg: -30%
Offense: -12% – nerf

Toughness: +6%
Vitality: +6%
Healing Power: +6%
Defense: +18% – buff

I believe Celestial is being reworked to be the “jack of all trades” set; providing purely balanced stats with no strengths or weaknesses. In retrospect it would have probably been smart for Anet to spin it this way. All that said though, I do believe players deserve a 1-time free stat change, especially those who crafted ascended celestial. People clearly meant to use the set for DPS purposes, and now Anet is pulling the rug out from under them.

You may now commence discussion, comments, rage, and other activities.

Every time a dev says something publicly, they risk getting fired. Everything they say has to obey non-disclosure policies, has to be 100% politically correct, has to be non-inflammatory, and must not harm the company’s image. It’s nigh impossible to respect all of these criteria to the letter. No matter how benign a dev post may seem, somehow it always stirs up some amount of trouble. It’s a miracle we get any dev response at all.

I mean would you participate in an optional activity related to your job if there was a high risk of losing said job by doing said activity?

Doubt they will ever rework that whole encounter, but hopefully they learned from our feedback and will make the next dragon a lot more satisfying.

I would prefer more “realistic” or “down to earth” style equipment in this game. When you shower the game in flashy, over-the-top stuff like zodiac armor, halos, angel wings, glowing legendary weapon auras, etc… you really diminish what makes them special.

If everyone in the world is special, then no one is special because we all have the same status of being special, which is the opposite of the definition of special.

I just wanted to point out that the discussion of which classes and group comp is the “fastest” is academic. Whether it’s warriors, ranger,s necros, etc, they can all do things fast if done right. You might save 10 seconds or so as a warrior, but who cares.

Getting killed constantly before you hit 30 is a pretty good learning experience. You learn to go play a different game. How is having to hunt down different traits you might not even know about help a new player.

I’m a new player, and right now I have 36 trait points. After the change, assuming I’m the same level, I’ll have 2 or 3, which each count kitten . ( as “number FIVE” got turned into kitten? wtf?)

I did find myself at level 30 that I had 11 points in one line, and 4 and 5 in two more, you know what I did? I paid a silver to reset my points and built it better. Honestly they could leave the system the same and just add the minus button next to each line.

Everyone that has played a Guardian knows how useful 5 points in virtues is. Imagine instead of having that minor at 15, you don’t get it until 30?

Death should indeed be a learning experience, but that’s another discussion. As for knowing where and how to get a trait:

https://d3b4yo2b5lbfy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/bcb64trait-unlock-ui-arrow-905x675.jpg

It tells you what to do and you can click on it to be shown directly on the map where it is.

Maybe the new system will teach people to use more food buffs, teamwork, and keep their gear up to date.

Can you people honestly think that adding 25% more healing to ele self healing would be balanced?

Also am I the only one who has been hearing the cries for more team support and less zerker meta? And now people complain when Anet actually listens?

The new system makes players spend an extra 20 levels really getting to know the skills on their bar before throwing curve balls in with traits which augment and change skill behavior. Making players spend more time before giving them something new to worry about means a slower, but stronger learning experience.

I agree that GW2 isn’t the best performance wise (I had a few overheating issues before they fixed that) but it should be able to run at least 25FPS on even the worst hardware, as long as you configure your computer somewhat well and don’t have 2 virusscanners running in the background, etc.

Lolwut…. i have a computer that has a 5-6 years old motherboard and processor, everything else is kinda new in it (video card, RAM, cooling) and i still have 16 fps ON AVERAGE with medium~ish settings (meaning: textures-medium, shader-medium, animation-medium, shadows-medium, the rest is low if i remember correctly) when it comes to zerging in wvw, i don’t even have 1-2 fps….. it’s like watching a slideshow that shows a new screenshot every 2 seconds or so. And i don’t even have a virus scanner.

GW2 is a CPU intensive game. If your CPU is 6 years old, I’m not the least bit surprised you are having problems. By the way, the CPU is like the heart of your system. upgrading everything but the CPU is like upgrading everything but the engine in your car.

I really wonder what computer you’re using if you’re getting such shockingly low framerates.

My housemate is currently borrowing my 5 year old laptop and finds GW2 playable enough.

Lenovo ThinkPad R500
http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/lenovo-thinkpad-r500.aspx

One of the local schools gave them to people who needed a computer a few years back. My FPS can reach up to around 20-25 IF I’m alone and nothing is really going on around me. In minor fights (2-3 players and a handful of NPC’s) I drop down to around 10-15 fps, in the LA battle I was around 8-12 fps, and when I’m in a zerg or large event like SB and MAW… well, I’ve already missed MAW twice because my laptop froze until the fight was over, but I average about 3-5 fps on those. IF I just ran around by myself and never interacted with other players or large mobs sure I culd play, but wheres the fun in that right?

So you’re getting poor performance running GW2 on a laptop which is a “few years old”… hmmmm…..

By the way, those specs? 2gb of ram, x4500 integrated graphics, 2.53-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 cpu. Not so great…

Only in GW2 will people complain about being given multiple ways to unlock things.

Anet could simultaneously cure cancer, invent clean sustainable nuclear energy, end world hunger, and end all wars and people would still complain that Anet isn’t doing a good enough job.

I was trying some of my melee characters vs the assault knights in lions arch but the constant up close strobing of so many particle effects makes seeing the telegraphing extremely difficult. I really wish there was a particle effect slider in the interface options so you could tone them down.

They have an option to reduce effects which should be turned on be default iirc, but it’s more of a behind the scenes dynamic culling system. It works wonders actually. Try turning it off and watch what happens. However, it isn’t enough. I believe the outright removal of “on fire” effects which cover the body is the only solution. As I said before, the condition icon on the health bar is enough to let us know the boss is taking burn damage.
