Why did you nerf Eruption and Churning earth?
Eruption has never bothered anyone and not it looks like a small pile of rocks you can barely see it.
Churning Earth is on such a long cooldown and it has to feel powerful. Now the particles have been reduced by something like 50%, they don’t even fill half the red circle.
Fireball looks like “Fire tennis ball”
Why would you do this and not fix tempest useless warhorn and elite skills?
Thanks for the reply. Personally I don’t think the problem is with the new map but instead how the new map was implemented without the necessary core WvW changes.
If it was just me I would increase the speed of upgrades by 500% and make PPT a real-time tick (much lower than it currently is, 5 pts for a keep, 10 for SM, 3 for towers and 1 for camp, ticking every second), add a PPK based on the server position (1rst = 1 PPK, 2nd = 2PPK, third = 3 PPK), make all the 4 maps independent (remove duplicates and EotM as an overflow, add EotM as a core map), merge servers and reset the scores on a daily basis at midnight, add a guild statistic scoreboard and rewards players according to your guild contribution.

Your idea is great, at least it’s better than the current system.
Personally I really don’t care if it’s Alliances, Globes or all these other things people have proposed… Server identity or not.
All I want is to connect, play and find large fights with 4 full different maps.
I wanted to play tonight, but couldn’t find a fight beside from some roaming mesmers trying to 1-shot me. Gave up.
I’m making a new topic, because I don’t feel Anet understands the gravity of the situation. This is WvW now in Tier 2:
Friday night, 11pm est
Home BL: a dozen people afk, a handful roaming, no tag
Other BLs: one is empty, one has 3 people on it, no tag
EBG: a few people roaming the map, one of the enemy team has a group, no tag
In fact the only tag I can find is a EotM group farming keeps without fighting, probably some of the few people left not realizing that the rewards have been nerfed.
Is Anet taking note of what is happening to their own game? It’s impossible to find a fight on a Friday night in the most populated servers. Other tiers beside Tier 1 are just completely empty, but Tier 1 is impossible to join. A friend of mine just transferred to T2 from T3 to realize that the game is dead here too and was so dissapointed. People are just leaving the game because the simple improvements that would make WvW good are apparently never coming (and no I’m not talking about new WvW rank masteries; I’m talking about scoring system, new overflow system, removal of identical maps and population merges).
If you are not doing something soon to attract people to the new Borderland maps (rewards, massive server merge, PPT improvement, PPK system, waypoints, etc) you’re just going to lose the few people that are left.
Again, I’ve said this over a year ago: It’s a shame to see the wasted potential of WvW. It could easily beat the multiplayer gamemodes of any game currently available with just a little bit of care from the developers.
I’m saddened to see my friends leaving the game so soon after an expansion, and that there is nobody in charge of WvW at Anet willing to make it a truly rewarding and intense experience. Many GvG guilds have already disbanded.
I hope you have something planned for soon because I don’t think the WvW/GvG community will wait another year.

Except changes to the changes screwed up the physics so the world isn’t working right – they would have to spend time/money to fix it, and it’s clear that isn’t on the radar.

The clock is the content.
Any good game designer knows that having a clock isn’t the best way to make combat interesting.
Raids are not the only part of an expansion, far from it in fact, so I really don’t get how this is a problem…not to mention you can only claim rewards once per week so the fear that the rest of the game will lose its major elite players that used to kind of lead the way is irrelevant as well
Raids are the only instanced repeatable content of the expansion however, and everyone paid the same. I don’t see why they can’t have 2 difficulty settings, one without the timer so that people can practice and learn.
Sometimes what you have to do is really unclear as well, a bit more messages info from the game would help too. It’s stupid that you need to know everything by heart just to succeed. You shouldn’t test players by how they have written down all the game mechanics, but by their actual skills, reflexes and build synergy.
Sometimes it starts to feel like everything is time-gated and the difficulty is jacked up just because the expansion doesn’t have enough content to stand on it’s own.

New Elite:
Signet of Arcane.
Passive – 10% Boon duration.
Active – Recharge all attunements (60ish cd, 0.5-1ish activation).
It probably took you 5 minutes, yet that elite would be better than all the stuff they’ve tried with rebound.
Seriously if Diamond skin is giving you trouble perhaps pvp isn’t your thing.
It’s the worse of the earth Grandmaster traits.
Anyway defensive mechanisms are the only thing eles have against a meta that has been making them 1-shot targets for a while now.

Quickness on overload is actually a good idea, since the overload are usually too long to channel and should be around 2 seconds anyway.
Anyway I think they need to start over with most of Tempest, beginning with Rebound and Warhorn, they both are terribly worthless.
They need to at the very least close servers if they don’t have the courage to do an Alliance based system.
WvW lost basically 50% of the player base over the last year yet we still have the same amount of servers o fill, and now the maps are even bigger.
I think 2 tiers would be plenty, I doubt that WvW has more than 250-500 people playing at one time globally.
I don’t know if balanced is the proper term, but I was surprised to see this afternoon that T2 servers were literally empty while EotM had small zerg fights (if you can call them fights because usually a group just get 1-pushed).
At this point I think they should make a 4-maps system, each with their own score, scrap the whole server ideas and replace it with 3 alliances. Perhaps they could add and extra EotM instance if a certain population cap has been reached the previous week.
LOL Churning Earth also looks like crap now.
Why would they nerf the effect on a skill with such a high cooldown that needs to feel powerful? Nobody ever complained about churning earth.
Wow tonight is even worse, I crashed in WvW after 2 minutes.

Go ahead and dislike the new map, I don’t care. It certainly isn’t perfect, it could definitely use some tweaks (I’ve posted before that yaks shouldn’t be optional for objective upgrades). But please don’t pretend that the new map has anything fundamentally to do with the decline of WvW populations. And please, pretty please, with a cherry on top, don’t try to speak on behalf of the “WvW community” anymore.
Fair point. I’m certainly not the WvW spokesperson. I guess I could have instead said “based on a fair reading of the WvW forums, a true majority of the WvW community dislikes the new maps.” Its okay to paraphrase the WvW community, right?
For those of us super nerds with 3000+ hours of WvW, the percentage of haters is even higher. My current guild only runs on EB, and that seems true for all the other t2 fighting guilds.
Just read the forums, its an unpopular map.
People would like it if it was implemented with other core WvW improvements. The map itself is well designed and has amazing combat variety. Every fight I’ve had on that new map was completely different.

I do not ask you to fix this because you don’t know how to. I only ask that you acknowledge the client doesn’t “run well”, but it doesn’t run at all.
I want an answer too and I think many others. This is just too much of a game-breaking issue to ignore even if they didn’t plan to support the Mac version.
Maybe in their budget they need to invest a small amount in the Mac Client support because crashing once every 2 hours at minimal settings is acceptable, but crashing every 5 minutes at minimum settings isn’t.
2 years ago I could run the game at medium settings without crashes; lack of support and improvements for Mac ruined the Client.

I had a crash so bad last night I couldnt even cmd-tab out of the game or do a Command-Shift-Option-Esc to terminate the front most application.. I had to actually press and hold the power button to recover my mac.
Same for me yesterday Cmd-Alt-Q-Esc wouldnt work, considering that the game creates a lot of heat (more than any other game), sometimes restarts your computer or forces you to do a hard-shutdown is worrying. It could actually be damaging to the computer.
EotM should have been implemented in WvW from the start as a rotation with EBG or as a new borderland.
I think it’s a shame now that we have 4 maps but only 2 are used in WvW and 1 has been completely removed.

Like I said, I have nothing about the content being extremely hard, it could be even harder. I just don’t like fighting a clock. As someone else said it’s kinda breaking the immersion. Some other mechanic could be in place in order to prevent people from using bunker build, like a aoe skill that does double the damage against people with high toughness after 8 minutes.
I don’t really see what would be the problem of having people take 4 hours to finish the raid if they want. It’s not like you get a precursor at the end and the reward resets weekly.
Churning earth needs a damage buff to be in line with Revenant hammer 2 and guardian traps. Or be unblockable. Longer cast time should result in higher rewards.
We had one… They removed it because it was too much fun.

Some areas seems to crash more than others:
In EBG I crash every 5 minutes
In Desert BL I crash every 10 minutes
In PvE zones I crash every 20 minutes
In Raids I do not crash
In Guild Halls during gvgs I do not crash
Crashed 9 times in 2 hours of WvW last night. Game has become unplayable since the Raid/Squad UI update.

I enjoyed trying the raids last night, was good content and I like the difficulty.
However when thinking about it I think the timers on bosses is a bad idea.
I think a team shouldn’t be fighting the clock but instead the content.
Perhaps after 8 minutes the boss would do a special attack, become harder, deny you of an achievement or loot, anything but asking you to start over for the 10th time.
Hard content is fun but not when you’re fighting the clock more than the actual content.

We’re getting to a point where you get into a game and the 9 other people are composed of 6 Dragon Hunters and 3 Revenants.
This has nothing of an eSport when heavy armor high health pool classes do more damage than light classes.
Something is really wrong when a revenant hits an ele for 14k with hammer 2, specially since it’s on a super low cooldown.
I don’t think people hate the new map at all. I think people hate running around to find a fights and that can be resolved by a better waypoint system and server merges.
I think people were expecting a better reward/PPT system and are salty about the new map having been implemented without other core gameplay improvements.
People with 32bit are chrasing, people on 64bit are chrasing, windows, mac, regardless of videocard. It seems hopeless. (been looking upgrading to 64bit, but I don’t see the use of going to the trouble)
Support has been pretty nice, but It doesn’t sounds like there will be a reliable fix anytime soon. Im sure they are reading everything tho, cuz all my stuff gets merged

Its pretty simple: Squad UI and Raids were still not ready for release, but they decided to release them anyway.

I’m on a Mac with 8 gigs of RAM. The game crashes my Mac every 2-4 minutes, it’s unplayable.
This started when you rolled out HoT, so I won’t buy HoT for this reason. Seems like a no-brainer.
You guys must be in cahoots with my wife to get me to actually get something done in the real world.
4th time I crash tonight in WvW EBG, also on mac. This is really getting on my nerves.

WvW is completely unplayable, crashed twice in 12 minutes.
I just crashed after 5 minutes in WvW (wasn’t even in combat) and I had to restart my computer (it completely froze my computer!).
Anet do something please.
Rollback on the update, fix the crashes, then re-release when ready.
The Desert maps are good, they just have a few minor things that make them very undesirable to alot of people. Like for me my personal issues are:
-No wAYPOINTS WHERE YOU NEED THEM! Make the fire and bird keep provide waypoints when fully upgraded….it’s not that hard!
I think having waypoints at the shrines would also be interesting.
Anet seems to be stuck between a rock and a hard place.
They need to release Raids now because HoT has no new repeatable instanced endgame group-content so far, but they have a series of crashes and bugs linked to the Squad UI that they apparently didn’t find a fix for yet in both PC and Mac versions.
WvW was almost empty and now it crashes every 5 minutes so forget that I can’t even play it.
I can’t even send my crash logs because when I click “send” sometimes my computer reboots (I need to force quit at the crash message). And the new crashes since yesterday do not even give me an error message 80% of the time.
No, it is not in match history API. This is something we think would be awesome to do.
It could be done with a brower system like that on the Trading Post. It would be great if you could also have the stats of gvgs.
They just need better server or internet code, increase the population limit on the new bl and merge the servers in 3 alliances.
I would have preferred a system with 4 different maps, EBG, EotM (with PPT scoring), Alpine Bl, Desert Bl. But it seem that is just too complicated for them and that the most they can do is have their artist make a new map and throw it in there regardless of the consequences in empty tiers.

How is the Fireball visual nerf a buff? And please do not say something like ‘in pvp they cannot as easily tell where it comes from.’
It seems faster, but it might just look faster because of the size reduction.
I’ve ran a battery of tests, and the velocity is definitively changed. And it does not need to completely hit the target to register as a hit now.
I’m quite sure it’s as slow as it has ever been and Anet doesn’t mention a speed change. If you used a Bifrost there is basically no difference except you cant see any splash at the end now. All you see is a rainbow.
Tested Rebound on the first Raid boss burst, if it’s supposed to save your life it doesn’t.
Got hit with a 30k burst, which is twice the health pool of an elementalist.
I think it would need to give you invulnerability for 1-2 secs after it prevents the killing blow perhaps.
Air Overload and Eruption also are terrible now.
Also eruption looks like a small feeble stack of gravel
That looks really bad. I think Anet didn’t understand people were complaining about the big aoe lights like those of the guardian, not skills like eruption that are just a pile of rocks.
I guess since in comparison to revenant, reaper and guardian skills eruption damage is so low they decided to reduce its size instead of making it a better skill.
Rebound is just a trainwreck of an elite really. Doesn’t even give you the Aura when it saves you from death – when you could need it most.
Rebound doesn’t work. I tried it on the Raid boss today just before the burst attacked, got 1-shot for 30k damage and still died.
In WvW it crashes every 5 minutes. Crashes 5 times in 30 minutes.

I’m crashing all the time on Mac in WvW since the squad update even at full minimum settings (used to be crashing once per hours instead of once every 5 minutes). Now WvW is completely unplayable.
I think Squads were not tested enough.
Since the new Squad update the Mac version crashes every 5 minutes in WvW.
I went to look and the waypoints are still contested even if there is nobody on the map.
On Bifrost now you only see the ranibow… yuk what was Anet thinking? Do they even test these things?

I think it was with HoT or the trait system update. I get hit for almost 500 dmg retal ticks now.
It’s really a sad time to be an elementalist, specially with the complete lack of Tempest improvements since Beta weekend 3 and how bad tempest is in general (specially the rushed out Rebound skill).
After the nerfs to Meteornado, Line casting and big red circles on meteors, staff ele really took a dive.
