They’re not going to improve the conjures, just look at how they destroyed Ice Bow and made it completely useless. It was the same with engineer turrets, they basically got removed from the game.

It’s been 1 step forward 3 steps back ever since the game was released in regards to conjure weapons. All the buffs were not good enough, all the nerfs were overdone.

It’s like Tornado, it was only good for its power boost and they removed it.

Tempest is a bunker spec, it’s completely one-dimensional because it’s all it can do.

It would have to be redesigned before it could be nerfed else it would just be completely useless.

Moved to T1 and I don’t regret it one bit (beside the cash I had to pay to make a broken game mode enjoyable, that still feel like my money is being stolen).

Hey is Anet ever going to fix the annoying crashes?

It’s getting really annoying to crash in WvW every 20 minutes and then spend 30 minutes waiting in queue.

I think they should make reward tracks that work for the new Legendaries and precursor crafting as well.

I think they need to buff the gold per game to 1g per win.

The Overload work ok on d/d but on staff they are always out of the weapon range. It’s really a bad design. Overloads should be range AoE on staff.

There is a “major overhaul” for WvW coming and they’ve been working on it for over a year so it’s probably gonna be huge. I think we just need to be a bit more patient.

First of all, the quote did not say it was “coming”, only that they’d been working on it for over a year. What have they been doing for WvW over the last year that we know of? Building new borderlands. Is that work completely finished? Likely not.

There is at this point zero evidence, indication, or reason to believe that the “overhaul” relates to anything other than the borderland change which has already occurred. You’re deluding yourself into another year of waiting around for table scraps.

This. The aforementioned overhaul is exactly what brought us the new BLs. That should actually put fear into you when thinking about what else they have coming soon™.

The new map is fine, it’s the core system that need improvements and that’s what Colin was talking about (he was talking about a WvW overhaul post DBL not DBL).

The new map is actually amazing when you give it a chance, the fights you can get there are really varied. It just needs a better waypoint system and a minimum of 100 players on it.

Everyone I know already gave up on it.

No skin can be worth spending 2 hours to find a good party and mashing your face against a wall 20 times for an hour or 2 until people start quitting.

Anet really lost focus and just tried imitating other mmos. Truth is it’s a huge disappointment, it’s just been made hard to hide the tiny amount of endgame instanced content HoT came with.

Sorry what? The point of this forum is WvW discussion and I’m pretty sure speculating falls into that category when Anet tells us they’ve been working over a year on some WvW overhaul.

What’s funny is that the build everyone was complaining about used Celestial amulet and hasn’t really seen nerfs, rendering your first paragraph meaningless in the face of history, but I digress. Fresh Air ele is the only time they went glass, but was by far the definition of “glass cannon”, bursting down even Warriors before they could react, but dying to a stiff breeze themselves.

The might on cantrip nerf was a huge nerf for celestial eles that relies on stacking might, and before that might was nerfed and the sigil of battle as well. Burning was nerfed and our condi damage comes form the celestial amulet.

Fresh air ele is destroyed, it’s no longer viable because it no longer has the burst to down anyone, and now heavy and medium classes have a better burst than light classes and light classes are tanking, so the entire balance went down the drain.

Really, you’re gonna complain about a 10% threshold when you can just 1-shot the class down?

I didn’t realize condi builds had power attacks that hit for 10k.

My condi Reaper can do 6k Gravediggers. Just get one of your friend to cleave or adapt your build. Condis are passive and constant damage, they initially were not meant be your main source of damage.

It’s quite normal that the squishiest class has the best counter to a 1-sided build.

Anyway that trait isn’t even good.

You’re not running Condi Reaper. Not with Greatsword, and those numbers require at least Vipers amulet, which is hybrid (or did you forget that it gives just as much Power as condition damage?). No, at best, you’re running hybrid Reaper, and even then, you’re more focused on Power than condition.

And Conditions have been intended since alpha to be an option for your main damage source. ANet has been stating that since their first articles on the stat system and boon/condition system for GW2.

Conditions are no more “passive” than power is. If you don’t hit, you do nothing. Cast times are no shorter, unmitigated damage is pretty much identical, and they have just as many counters and defenses as Power damage does.

Is Diamond Skin good? Not from a design standpoint. This trait, more than any other, is binary: you either win almost automatically, or you don’t have a grandmaster trait. The way it works now is too polar and it can definitely be reworked to be more applicable without giving auto-wins.

What you need to realize is that bunker ele is the only viable ele build right now because Anet listened to all the ridiculous anti-eles complaints from people that couldn’t adapt. The ele needs hard counters, it’s just that squishy of a class now. The class used to be playable with a Berserker amulet, now even Marauder is not usable on ele.

What will you ask to be nerfed after Diamond skin? Stoneheart? If you nerf more of the defensive mechanism of the class the class is just dead. It has already been cornered into this bullkitten bunker meta that is just no fun to play at all (which is why I switched to Reaper).

The new Sigil of Agility is bugged, it does not affect all staff skills of an elementalist.
For example Ice Spike is not affected properly, the animation is quicker but the damage come out later.

Because it nullifies the challenge of the encounter and forces it to be balanced around maximum defense, which does nothing but force everyone to use defensive gear and slow down the fights considerably.

Somebody out there must have enough imagination to come up with something better than a timer.

Can we just please the most basic of fixes in WvW and have the WvW chests stack in the inventory.
It’s already humiliating enough that WvW loot isn’t worth anything and that we actually lose gold as we play.

As a person who killed the Vale Guardian (cause I do have friends who play DPS builds primarily) I also agree that the timer is just a bit silly.
The timer is not an issue if you have 8/9 skilled DPS players at all, but it still kills the point of fighting the mechanics, it’s just a simple race around the timer type of a thing.

Having no timer kills the point of fighting the mechanics, you can just tank through everything and kill it eventually.

And that is a problem because…?
What you’re essentially saying is that there shouldn’t be any build diversity in this game.

I would like SAB back, specially considering Raids aren’t my cup of tea. There is a difference between “hard” and banging your head on the wall trying to find a good raid squad and then still failing 25 times in a row.

SAB had 3 difficulty levels, why can’t raid do the same?

Nope no way. When they announced Stronghold they announced it like a real GvG mode with guild rankings. It turned out they only made 1 demo map, there is no GvG or guild ranking and it’s only 5v5.

WvW has been left on autopilot and they didn’t change the amount of servers even if the new maps are twice bigger. From the competitive side this expansion has been a complete let down.

Then Tempest turned out to be a rushed out elite profession that is absolutely no fun to play even if it can stack boons.

This isn’t the Anet it used to be.

Problem is, many people are just completely discouraged by it (specially when after an entire night in WvW you actually lose gold instead of making some), so I think that strategy won’t work.

IMO the path they are going down makes them no longer a AAA game development company and GW2 is no longer a AAA title. Its just another Asian grinder. It has better graphics than most of the others but that and the combat system are about all they have going for them. They have shown they can not produce AAA content anymore.

I was discussing this with guild members yesterday, we all think the same. HoT wasn’t ready (only1 raid delayed) and was rushed out. Some of the elite profession skills were rushed in a few days (Rebound), only 1 stronghold map and no new conquest maps is shameful considering the game is supposed to be an eSport. WvW is on autopilot and doesn’t seem to have a development team to implement the artist content properly and the PvE content is twice less than we were expecting for the high price tag.

Basically it looks like the only future the game has is with the new players coming because of the f2p model. The time gates, accountbound legendaries and gold sinc are there to slow down the people that have been playing the game for 3 years already.

Just play a heavy class, they can take 3 times the damage and do as much damage as the light classes anyway.

Quickness is not affecting Ice Spike:
The animation is faster but the damage comes out way later and is out of sync with the animation.

Tested multiple times in the Guild Arena with sigil of Agility.

I certainly would not like WvW to change to 3 alliances, that would be totally counter productive. You would end up with 3 stacked maps to handle the numbers, some of them would be facing completely empty maps. The end result would be Edge of the Mists zergfests

It’s not because they merge the servers into 3 alliances that we would necessarily be limited to 3 maps. If they merged the servers into alliance then they can have as many maps as is appropriate for the total population, instead of having 10 times too many maps.

Yeah it’s really fun as a staff ele to get hit by 12k hammer hits from 1200 range from an heavy class. Great balance there.

ele kittening about balance? LOL.

To do damage on scale with other classes we need to be complete glass 1-shot builds so yeah, ele kittening about balance.

I like them but personally I feel the fire overload is a bit out of place when I’m playing with a staff. Instead of spinning around in melee I’d prefer some sort of long range super meteor or some other fiery bad kitten thing that comes crashing down.

The overloads should have been different for staff, but they pretty much rushed the entire elite spec so they made them work only with dagger.

They made a map that would require a minimum of 250 players to really function, which is probably more than half their NA population from all servers at peak time right now.

So they have 24 copies of the same huge map and 8 copies of EBG (which would take 150 players conservatively)

Here is my math for NA (not calculating EotM):
Required players to fill the new BL maps: 6000
Required players to Fill EBG maps: 1200

The game with the current server system needs about 7000 players to function as it should. At reset time I would estimate at 1000 people the amount of people playing WvW at peak time and that is being extremely generous. At normal times I doubt there is more than 500 at peak time.

So here you are, 7200 player slots to fill, 500-1000 players around. At peak time we can only fill something like 7-14% of the maps, rest of the time WvW has about 2-3% of the needed population covered.

What I think should be done is:
1- Merge all the servers in 3 alliances
2- Make a new WvW world map with:

2 EotM maps in each top corners [100 players per map needed] 200 total
3 Alpine BL Below [100 players per map needed] 300 total
2 EBG maps in the middle [150 players per map needed] 300 total
3 Desert BL at the bottom[250 players per map needed] 750 total

Total population needed to fill the maps: 1550
There would still be room to grow but instead of filling 7-14% of the max population we would fill from 32 up to 64%.

3- Then change the PPT system to something faster and more active
4- Add a PPK system that is in favor of the losing teams
5- Add a reward based system that is proportional to your rank and that works toward the legendary journeys

That’s how I see it.

Because it didn’t work (it was cancelled by the autoattack) and it was a bad implementation of a good GW1 elite anyway so it was easier to make a new elite than to fix it…

I think they should scrap the new one too and make a signet that recharges your attunements when activated and increase boon duration when passive.

When I made this thread my intent wasn’t to complain but instead to get a sort of reaction from Anet. I think we need to move pass the current collapsing WvW server and scoring system and get to some actual results.
We need to know how, what and when WvW is going to be improved, and if Anet is too oblivious to do anything then how us players are going to adapt (or not) to make WvW an enjoyable experience.

Raid need at least 2 difficulty level!

I would like to see Anet beat it. After watching one of their elite prof dev fail at beating Svanir in the pvp lobby I doubt that they’ve managed to beat it themselves.

PvP was almost an eSport about 16 months ago, it felt that every class was almost perfectly balanced, with only a few builds that were kinda questionable (like turret engi). It all went downhill since then and there is no indication that it will ever get back to be as great as it once was, specially considering how they’ve made some of the same mistakes again with the elite professions like tempest.

People used to complain about 10k backstabs from a medium class. Now you get heavy classes doing 14k 1200 range hits on a ridiculously low cooldown. How did that get by testing?
