You are simply misinformed. YB lost their entire golem force, and had most of their keeps crippled at least 3-5 hours before retaliation began against SBI. Had the retaliation not occurred, SBI would have been in a grossly unfair position at NA prime time Tuesday night.

That initial saboteur attack could very well have reversed SBI’s fortunes and allowed them to win. Unfortunately for SBI, it’s saboteurs just made YB’s vast majority of legitimate players even more determined to win. We had a huge influx of PVE players from non prime time hours who heard about the sabotage and wanted payback.

Also every keep on SBI BL that you managed to retake last night is tainted by the actions of roughly 4 saboteurs that were operating against Yak’s bend at the time.

SBI lost all our supply, our entire golem force as well + had 2 servers going only for us..

So yea… cheater’s suck…But having cheaters + 2 servers against you sucks even more.

What people don’t respect is people doing 2v1 then bragging about it afterwards….which quite a few people from Yaks and EB have done this match up.

Its smart to do 2v1, but its not something you want to brag about because it really just tells everyone you couldn’t win the fight otherwise….

In a previous match up before the leagues, when SBI was on a low, the true heart of the SBI vets showed. They did not complain, were generous and well mannered, and tenacious in the field despite their lower numbers.

I have not forgotten that. I doubt the YB old hands have. I don’t think that Darth Bully is representative of your Server’s WvW population at all.

If you feel that the other servers in this match up are bragging, keep in mind that it’s not so much bragging as a reaction to what they consider unfair comments. YB regulars have put in tremendous effort and time into pulling this off.

Some have pulled enormously long hours. I remember one prolific guild leader giving orders sleep drunk, until we told him to go to sleep.

The accusations of an outright coordinated alliance cheapen that. As has been stated before, Both servers have been focusing the top dog. From what I’ve seen the accusation has turned into a self fulfilling prophesy though. Both YB and EBay are now keen to see SBI come in last.

Its unfair to point out that YB would of lost without EB? I don’t see why? Cause we have a previous match up showing just that.

Lets clear something up about that though, when I point out YB would of lost to SBI if it wasn’t 2v1 i’m not implying that YB is a worse server then SBI, Matches are not won by being the better player, they’re won by having more people. This is why leagues were silly in the first place.

However when you make a post about how you worked really hard as YB to pull this off i can’t help but to laugh, You didn’t work any harder then you did last time, You simply had help this time around which allowed you to win. Without that help SBI and its population probably would of rolled over you, That doesn’t make SBI better, that’s just simply how PPT works in this game.

Also about the outright accusations of an alliance, Come on mate…We all know you guys were 2v1ing this whole match, If you think that cheapens your win it doesn’t…like I said before, Lesser Populated servers should be 2v1ing the larger populated server…Its the bloody smart thing to do…

Just don’t pretend you worked “real hard” to pull it off, you pulled it off because it was a 2v1….

Allow me to educate you on the nature of facts! A fact is not actually a fact until it’s proven. With evidence. Not by asserting, wishing really hard or bellowing really hard will a fabrication become fact.

Having said that, you appear to imply that SBI is only dangerous when having overwhelming numbers, which seems an odd thing to brag about. To me your post reads like:‘Just wait until I find you alone and I got my mates to back me up’.

If you feel that population made the difference, then why do you have a problem with the opposing servers turning their lower population weakness into a strength by focussing your server?

SBI is the only high rated server in silver league that tried to get to gold instead of tanking their way to easier matchups. We are ecstatic on matches where we dont steamroll, because the fights dont just stop by tuesday. this is the first fun matchup since we fought FA week 1.

If you have ever heard of my guild, we barely run 10 people. When I’m commanding I can field 30 max. SBI, however, I have seen a SEA of red names every time I encounter one of their Ultra Zergs, especially of what they had going in EBay BL today, so don’t be such a hypocrite. Also, no, I don’t just forum command, I run with groups on TS3 and command, hence capping many SBI owned keeps today.
And about getting 3rd, what do you expect man, we don’t have nearly the population or coverage to compete with either server, we honestly expected a complete rollover by both servers.
Trolling aside, This match-up has been the most fun I have ever had during this league.

Idk what these people are talking about. 0 0 30 10 30 bm with s/t and a/d is still a very strong spec. Massive regen, tons of evades, good cd damage, and good mobility all followed by a pet that can deal strong damage and is extra tanky due to regen and increased stats. Only drawback really is weakness to condition bursts and a low hp pool.

Which is kinda the issue with a BM build -condition bursts and a low hp pool are the meta, if not its competing with very high damage. None of which the ranger has in anyway to create a good counter to the blows they get and recover from. Rangers lack stability except for one elite on a really long cooldown. A stank from a guardian hammer offers you immobilization plus mighty aoe damage, that no amount of regen can give you a comeback. Regen can be good in certain areas, PVE and places such as the toxic tower were ok, but it suffered from a lack of dealing any damage. And in the tower you really need it.
Pets are also not 100% accurate – take spider poison cloud for one. The attack is far too slow to hit or affect anything, as soon as it lands the target has moved out of that small field so it is of little use. A bunker ranger has no defense in WvW(lol?), it is easy meat for many classes. It would offer little defense from a perm stealth thief with massive crit , however a trap build might save your bacon in many scenarios. Even then though , traps are no where GTFO as say engineer grenades – its a fact that most Ranger damage = poor compared to the rest sadly.

If you’re playing BM without a bird or feline, you are doing it completely wrong. I know other pets offer superior control, but since you give the dps pets the survivability they need, you should always take them.

BM may be weak to condition builds, but don’t forget about how strong bm is in itself. You have massive amounts of regen and evades. Simply tank attack if you must and focus on pinning your opponent to ensure your pet mauls them apart. I think it’s even safe to make the claim that bm is our strongest dueling spec.

Stability is really only important for stun wars and fear spam necros, and having limited access to it is a downside shared by all ranger builds apart from signets.

I play BM without Birds and Cats, Spiders are incredibly strong and I recommend them over both of those pets any day of the week.

I fail to see the funny side. have you actually tried a trap build to actually see what it can offer? Out of all ranger builds with PVT as part of your armor set, the trap build is not bad. It just suffers from in your face damage. Chill for example lends itself as both an early warning system plus slows them down. In a zerg it offers you the chance to stand back and throw traps as a bit of support. yes its not perfect, yes its a bit clunky and not as good as a lot of AOE out there. Until Anet realizes and sorts out something for rangers , its a bandaid to allow you to interact in WvW both in support and as a defense to yourself. Rangers have to know how their class works other than say a warrior, which really is easy to play due to the " in your face ", bang and stun with a hammer = faceroll damage. Sure its not a 100% solution to what is out there, yes I know that ranger is in a poor state. However I have tried it, it works for me and I come out of most things and enjoying playing WvW with my ranger with this set up. Try it a few times, you might just be presently surprised. :P
However perhaps offering a reason to your critique may help, simply ROLFING on a forum without a reasonable counter -debate is useless and makes you out as a troll. be useful and state why :P

Necro’s will use staff 1v1, its incredibly powerful for conditions.

I’ve actually started running less into the Perma Stun Warriors since last patch and the change to the Sigil. Some of the previous videos though have fights with them.

I also was surprised that Necro ran into the Water as well, I think he was trying to get away from me as I was trying to kite him around and kill him.

There have been a lot of SBI putting a lot of hours and effort into this week and I dont want to take away from what theyre doing, but you are right. A lot of it was because of the 2v1, and Yaks resorting to outright cheating. It’s difficult to get your casual/pug population motivated when that stuff happens. I’ll admit, if I had got into the ESO beta that’s where I would be.

Granted, I’m a transfer from TC last week so I don’t have any particular loyalty to SBI or any guilds yet.

Again, the siege troll/destruction of all the golems was done to Yaks first by SBI with [bags] tag. this is when some idiots from our server(I guess) went to you and started doing the same. As has been stated already Yaks as a server doesn’t stand for this kind of behavior and I know that a lot of us reported people shown in screenshots that you provided to help anet check their records, and ban any of the parties involved. I really doubt that any of the individuals involved acted with approval of their servers/guilds.

For years I followed GW2, every blog post(where did that go anyhow), interview, video, everything. Wanting to go on adventures with my black moa that was stuck in that Hall for 250 years, I think he missed me

I missed the first beta weekend, but the 2nd made me forget about dinner even though my old pc was murdered by the bad coding. Then there was launch, It maybe was the overload servers that made me do the same events over and over, or the fact that I couldnt keep up with the story mission levels.

I gave up when the risen thralls ignored my pets no matter how good I was at bouncing normal enemies, I can accept pets being weaker than me but not even fighting my pets was so irritating I rage quit. This was the day after me fighting that Centaur King/leader giant event thing ( the one with the arena with all those giant dog mini boss multi 20 minute stage fight), Using the moa heal and those big pet defense cooldowns I could distract at least one of those dog things or two for a few minutes while the players beat on the other boss. Then being downgraded to a pet that is almost useless gave me eternal sadness.

I am starting to rant so I will try to make this short, have they changed pets so they last more than one aoe attack from a dungeon boss? Do they sometimes run off somewhere random still? Also is the 1hand sword still based on hitting the 1 key yourself, if so do they let you bind left click to a keybind yet? If ranger is exactly the way it was, is just using my warrior a safer bet?

I am reinstalling because I broke the WoW spell again a few weeks ago but I feel the old gods casting mind control again, I need an mmo ranked dis-spell because 40 hours of AC4 just hit diminishing returns.

Leagues for WvW made no sense in the first place.

It’d be like having a league of Football, with 3 Teams

Team A gets 20 people on the field
Team B gets 15 people
Team C gets 10 people.

I’m personally annoyed more at the griefing that happened earlier and cost SBI a lot of points….the 2v1 I don’t mind cause that’s suppose to happen and why servers don’t do it all the time i don’t know.

I do know I wouldn’t brag about winning a 2v1 though.

Most likely its not someone from any of the servers in this matchup griefing, but from one of the other servers

Ranger’s actually use every one of the Shortbow Skills quite a bit..

Now as for why Ranger’s rely on auto attack for damage with shortbow is simple..

Cause none of the attacks actually do more damage then the Auto Attack.

For some reason other classes get a good auto attack, but they also get really good damage on the other attacks as well, cause ya know.. those attacks have cooldowns.

Look at a Scepter/Dagger Condition Necromancer….. Auto Attack is pretty good on Scepter….. But all the other abilities are also really good damage as well……

Thieves have really good damage on their auto attack as well, But everyone of their abilities is also more damage.

So its not that those classes don’t use their auto attacks, They do… Its just everyone of their other abilities does more and thus is more noticeable.

You give higher damage on the Ranger Shortbow attacks, and they’ll still be doing the same thing they’re doing now….Only you’ll notice the attacks more often…

Mesmer’s though usually aren’t bad for me to fight, They lack condition removal usually..

Yea, seems to be a bug with “rush” type abilities, if you don’t target the person and hit them with it it’ll pretty much instant kill you.

its much easier if the class has blinks …..

Seems people been abusing it in PVE as well.

Might wanna give it a bit for the quality to load up on it..

This weekend has had the shortest queues I have ever seen in WvW, and last night only our BL and EB had a queue, which was 1-5 minutes.

I have no idea what’s going on, although some of our guild is out of town for Thanksgiving, so that could be part of the reason.

Personally, I am liking the resistance we have found, we have had it really easy for weeks, and we needed a challenge before we go against kittenain. I haven’t seen this many bags in a while either, and got myself some new armor last night, as well as an axe.

I find this hard to believe. Im not by any means calling you a liar… just with the mass complaints in the forums etc and overall moral of the class would say otherwise.

Unless you know something about this class that others dont know. I dont think skillcap can be a reason since engineers dont have the same issues as rangers.

I’ll flat out tell you the major difference I see between me and other BM Bunker Rangers out there using my Build.

They’re still using Wolves and Cats while i’ve switched to Spiders and Malicious Training.

They’re basically at that point the Engineer Rifle Turret + Net Turret combined.

A condition built ranger is one that uses traps and possibly a torch. if you don’t use traps, you should not be pushing for strong condition damage.

Well my first suggestion was to not play a ranger if that’s what you were doing. You said you have a warrior main though so I would say more sPvP. Try to learn the tricks the other classes use. Try out different builds and weapon sets. Find something that works for you. I have found that all of any one kind of gear isn’t usually the best. All tanky gear and you can’t kill anybody. All Zerker gear and your glass. Right now I am using full PVT armor with zerker trinkets melendru runes and lemongrass food+ dogged march so conditons and and immobilize don’t do much. Condition dmg and stacking seems to be the meta right now so I like clensing ire and quick breathing to remove conditions as well.

What’s amazing to me is people in this game have never come across DOT builds with survivability before in any other game to date.

You people are aware that’s generally how DOT builds work right? You unload dots, then give yourself enough time for the DOTS to actually work?

The people right now playing Power builds are basically complaining “I can’t instant kill this player, then I slowly die”

Welcome to pretty much every game previously that had DOT based builds.

Anyway…like I said, Changing the Game mode won’t remove bunker’s, you’ll still have them used because some classes can instantly kill you if you’re anything else. If they were going to weaken bunker’s, they’d have to lower damage output of the really high burst classes. Warriors/Mesmer’s/Thieves/Ele’s would end up with a damage nerf at the same time.

Not that impressive, all SBI has are numbers. FA put up much better fights against us a few weeks ago and they didnt outnumber us at every corner.

Agreed, that’s probably why SBI lost to FA even though they have more players and better coverage.

You’re aware servers don’t lose if they have more players and better coverage right?

If a server loses its because they’re outnumbered and have les Coverage, FA won because they had more people. If you think FA won and claim we had more people then them, you clearly are ignoring pretty much the entire history of WvW matches in this game and should be ignored for being clueless.

My Technobabble build can do both equally as good.

The thing you’re not understanding about Zerging is the same thing most people don’t understand about zerging.

Its not about you doing the most damage or you being “useful” with utility, The only thing that matters in a zerg is how many people you can hit, and how often you can hit a large number of people.

Most Zerg fights are decided within seconds of the encounter, and its the side that pulls back first that is usually the loser because it causes your front line to basically falter with it happens.

Usually the Zerg with more people is the one that actually does the pushing as well…

Both abilities are incredibly powerful.

However neither ability will counter Builds used in the end.

I’ve fought people with the stacks when I didn’t have them, and easily won simply because of the Build i was playing.

What those stacks tend to do is allow you to survive 2v1’s more then it allows you to win 1v1’s against certain builds.

P/D thieves aren’t that bad if you use Spiders, they’ll usually die before RoA is up (making Perplexity useless)

just make sure you have Sic’Em to pop on them when they hit half life.

NA t1 servers have 2 times the coverage as EU. WvW is about coverage, not skill.

This, BG would crap on every single Euro Server..

Why EU can’t understand that they’re not more skillful then NA servers (having played on EU servers there is no skill difference between the two leagues) and that Coverage decides pretty much everything in terms of WvW.

I’ve explained this a 1000 times now…

Bunkers exist because some classes in this game can instantly kill you from 100 to 0 in 1 second….

If you’re not one of these classes….You go Bunker…

There is a reason D/D Ele was popular.

Its not because Glass Cannon can’t be done….Its because if you do it, Other Glass Cannons in this game will instantly kill you.
