Just because there is potential does not mean it will happen. It definitely won’t happen soon. I can imagine they are talking about it though. For me it makes no sense but with their future plans it might. It really messes up games that I have played before when they do things like this though.
For me the MC needs to be a little more lively. If you are promoting your game you should sound better. I am not saying they don’t know what they are talking about because they clearly do, that is what your PR department is for.
I like that they can run into the same problems and show the same abilities as normal human beings though. They could have run though in god mode and killed everything, never got downed. This just leads to frustration for the players when they actually meet the content.
There should have never been levels in the first place.
What should they have done?
You simply gain skill points as you fill the bar with your traits already unlocked and all areas are of the same “level.”
They tried it early beta testing, it was changed to levels because people did not like it.
Those people were wrong, as evidenced by the game’s mostly empty maps outside orr and metaboss spawning grounds.
This is what you get when you introduce levels: wasted assets.
Ah well, good thing you will change all that when your game comes out.
I was hoping this was a joke. Looked at the calendar and it is still November not the end of March.

Not sure who the target audience is but think it may backfire a little.
Edit: If this thread is still alive after the 10th of December would someone who won mind coming on to give their impressions of the contest?

Well its guildwars 2 not wow or eq or any other MMO its Guildwars 2 they doing their own thing and most of us are happy with that.
Needs to be said over and over again unfortunately.
Bats. Either as a playable race or as ranger pets, or both. Bats are fun. Bats would save this game. Bats.
Bats would work for me
leveling to 80 without using crafting needs you to visit about 40% of the total map (have done it with less). That you are lvl 31 with only 24 hours played on a character does not sound really like a lot of effort and time has been invested.
Yargesh I didn’t say making them accountbound is a scam. I didn’t say the tools themselves were a scam.
I said: first letting people buy multiple soulbound copies and then making them accountbound is a scam. As for the rest, thanks for the help. ^^
Ok, but then why would you use the words scam and incompetent when you did not try to find out if there was a system in place to correct multiple buys? Insult first then ask questions could lead to confusion in the answers you get.
Jeopardy has all the answers.

You can either get help for a phobia or not play a game that brings out that phobia.
Considering that GW2 has been the most cruel and disparately unrewarding game I have ever played, looking at that list only makes me think one thing.
“Any port in a storm.”
Really curious why you say " the most cruel and disparately unrewarding game I have ever played."
Please tell us more.
No, please. Keep it buried deep.
its free, for the most part and I would like to try again just to see what has changed and what completely new. But this whole crash at launcher thing is really annoying. I reinstalling it for the 3rd time. I know it will not work, but for some reason it makes me feel better.
My son had this for a while. Needed to update the graphics drivers and run as admin to get it to work.
found it.
If you joined a group for your first time through the Nightmare Incarnate instance and someone who had already completed the instance opened it for your group, then your first time through would have been in the repeatable version. The instance checks the instance owner’s progress; if they have completed it before, the whole group will do the repeatable version, not the story version. Once you have completed the instance for the first time, your progress will also update to repeatable and every consecutive time you enter the instance, even if you enter solo, you will be put into the repeatable version. This is just a limitation on how we can set up a ‘story’ and ‘repeat’ version of something that is not a dungeon.
If you want to experience the Story version after you have already run the instance, party with someone who has never done the instance before and have them open the instance for your group. Also, if it is your first time inside the Nightmare Incarnate instance and you want to experience the story, make sure your group’s instance is not opened by someone who has done it before.
Lastly, if you wish to review the cinematic inside the repeatable version, you can interact with the terminal inside the boss room after the instance has been completed; it will allow you to watch the cinematic as many times as you wish.
There is a post by an ANET staff member that if you play through with someone who has already done the story mode you will be given a check mark for completion and will not get to do story mode on your own. You need to join a group of people that have one person who has not done the dungeon at all open it. Then you get the story mode.
+1 to both VOLKON and Hjorje, well said.
I think the people who have posted so far have missed the entire point of the OP.
Don’t thinks so.
sure go for it. I have all the stuff from it so it would not hurt in any way to have a different number associated with it.
as of right now it is 06:30 where the people are that can fix this.
Have you reported this through support? I personally have never seen anything like this nor have I heard anyone ever mentioning it on forums. Going off about what a crap game this is because you experience it and few others do is kind of less than helpful.
Oh no, I’m being overwhelmed! Too… many… enemies… A stroke of luck, I’ve eliminated one of the threats! That’s just the opening I need to reach into my belt pouch and sift through the 400 pounds of copper ore, 15 trees worth of wood, a full pantry, an armory complete with thousands of arrows and rubber axes and my entire wardrobe. There, I find my second pet, a thousand pound brown bear named Bob. He quickly passes me a specially blended poultice I keep for just such medical emergencies. It does the trick and I’m back in the action!
Bob, fetch my Charrzooka, if you please.
Yea, how is it possible to carry 40,000 logs of wood in our bags anyway?
15 trees is about 60 logs of wood in game.
You steal their life-force.
Yep. The adrenaline rush is temporary, gets you back on your feet to keep fighting.
If no one around to fight, you take the time to heal your wounds (out of combat regen)
I’d be more concerned why you’re getting killed by a bird.
If it was temporary you’d go down again after a certain amount of time. The downed state makes you bleed health until 0. The act of fighting for your life is an attempt to avoid you from reaching 0. But when you rally, you gain health, similar to chugging a potion or casting a spell.
I’m interested in understanding the “magic” in healing yourself by killing a bird.
Could be a more mobile phase of the worms. Though it would be neat to look up one day and see a giant moth coming at you. Then again could be larval dragons, just think of the good you are doing while decimating the population.
Perhaps a fee to enter dungeons?
Fee for leaving, 1 silver for every mob left alive.
People where saying it broke after the nightmare update. Have not been there, you could check the bugs section of the forums.
ok, I have said what I need to say.
Content can be good but not optimal for the current mindset of players. I am sure people have seen great content but slightly longer or slightly less bling bling abandoned in favour of one with just the smallest difference. Only so much people can focus on, everything else is gone.
Not saying it is dead. I personally don’t use it, others do every day. It is your example not mine.
Until you get the skin and then leave. Even with rng most will get it in a short period of time (or give up), then it is empty again.
The thing is while people are playing Fractals they are not playing something else. Does not matter how desirable items are you can’t play the same character/account 2 places at once (multi-boxing can’t be done on the same account). So people focus on one or two things they can do in the time they have.
Much of the permanent content added sits abandoned. I am not sure it makes a difference if the content is temporary or permanent if no one plays it after a couple of weeks. =/
If no one plays it it means they were either bad or not rewarding enough. FotM is still very popular, as is all the launch dungeons.
In other games, content gets abandoned because people out level them.

That’s why you put unique rewards behind content. New skills, unlocks for traits, unique skins. If something that’s very desirable can’t be obtained elsewhere, people will go to the content.
FotM is a good example. Income from there is terrible. But you get untradable unique skins and Ascended items which are either unique to it or will cost you a truckload of laurels elsewhere.
That doesn’t really matter. If there’s something you need or want and it can’t be gotten elsewhere, you will do the content to get it.
If you want a fractal skin, you will have to do FotM. It doesn’t matter if champ farming gives more gold, because it can’t get you a fractal skin.
That’s why you put an appropriate number of rewards and make them take am appropriate amount of time to obtain. Then once people get bored, you refresh the content. MMOs are an iterative process.
Also, you can’t be telling me FotM is dead content.
Apologies if this sounds rude, but then what was your argument to start with :/?

I wanted to add: it looks like they’re only refunding duplicates. So you can’t have one molten mining pick, delete it, and ask for a refund to buy the bone pick. Any clarification would be appreciated, I just want people to think before they start deleting their stuff.
Yes, this. You need one named item that is the same account bound. After that one delete as many or few of the excess you have of that specific item (soul or account bound does not matter). As said a molten pick and bone pick are not considered the same item. I did get the gems back for extra picks I had.
I must be blind, except for some weapons not clipping anymore I can’t for the life of me see any difference..
Can’t see any real difference either.
Scam? They brought in what people asked for (account bound) and it is a scam? Interesting. I have multiple copies of pickaxe and scythe (only bought 1 axe) ankitten ot personally feeling scammed at all.
This has been discussed to death. The main argument for is that the more people in a group the more you get counted as hitting the mob. Could be true for multiple mobs (there are those who insist it is not), don’t think it has any impact on a single champ.
Let’s see, Tequatl was wasted effort, he is dead, even for a undead. Most of the tower will probably be gone in a few weeks and TA Aetherpath has as many fans as players that like Scarlet as a villain.
All that effort, wasted. Who would think that is a good excuse? We have done bad, but at least we spent a lot of time doing so!
And I know Vayne, you love it all. But some of the players are just used to more quality.
Could be a wasted effort. To me all PvP, WvW and dungeons are wasted effort. Who is right?
yeah despite in theory any profession could be effective (more or less).
Warriors + guardian its the easiest possible party you can have.So if you pug, means having a free ticket to any party.
I waited 30 min on sunday to read a single LFG that wasn t requesting heavy prof >.>
Create your own group and you do not need to read those requests.
As for permanent being the only way to go. How many people where at the Halloween zone a week after it came out? How many are at the tower now? Content is played through and forgotten. Only gets replayed if there is nothing else to play for 6 months to a year.
1. Hop on the champ train for about 2-3 hours
2. That’s it
Champ train loot is not at all what the hype says it is.
51 worlds/servers
25 PVE maps
4 WvW maps
sPVP divided into different instances
fractals
dungeons
Current living story instances
Where do you want people to be?
hmm, I have run the expl mode 3x solo and not once have I seen a friendly NPC. Once after I heard people saying there is a NPC that helps I went looking and Marjory was in the first area, as soon as I approached her she vanished. After that none.
Is there any confirmation that there are meant to be NPCs in the repeat?? If it’s a bug it’s fine/better how it is.
There’s one npc in the repeat. Npc spawns in every hallway after you completed one of those small chambers or whatever you want to call that. You can repair your armor there but if you don’t do that, then that NPC will help at the end with the boss. If you repaired your armor that npc vanishes and you’ll be alone. Is there a conformation from the devs about that? Nope but running that instance more than once a day on different characters etc, with always having that ONE npc there is enough conformation for me
The people that are panicking that their toy may be ruined could have just let this float away with the tide of other posts. Since you keep this on the first page it will be noticed.
NCSoft didn’t shut down GW1, and I can’t imagine it’s just raking in the money…so why would they shut down GW2 any time soon? It makes little sense to me.
Ah, that is because you are not blindly panicking nor have you been saying the game is dead since release. If you would do either of those things I am sure it would be clear why they would shut the game down.
This exact same post was up several months ago. Really digging to find problems.
And what will Arena Net do to keep player in GW2 once clearly more superior Everquest Next comes? Continue their 2 week 1 hour checklist content?
Clearly superior? A game that will not be out for probably a year and a half is clearly superior? Wish and dreams do not make good comparisons.
Also a word of caution. If you change worlds the bank stays where it was.
Good point, but can’t you “guest” back and retrieve items/gold?
I thought I read some threads long ago about not accessing from off world but can’t be 100% sure.
relative answer as others above have said. For me mesmer, ele and ranger are the most fun.
