yeah some prats of the sylvari armor is set to match your skin color, because it is supposed to grow out of your sylvari. It’s the same with the cultural sets.
Yes he effed up, but if he hadn’t there would be absolutely no conflict and the characters themselves would be happy and boring. What exactly are we supposed to be discussing here again?
yeah I don’t know, I can always tell if it’s day or night. You do realize that without bright artificial city lights and things like that, that nigh time is actually not pitch-black typically. But I see what you mean maybe a tad darker, however the game still needs to be playable at night, I do want to see where i’m going without too much dificulty.
I would just really like a syncing of the cycles. Like, if I’m in the Bloodtide Coast and the sun just set, I should not go into Lion’s Arch and see that it’s about noon or whatever.
Yes I would like this as I don’t know if some of my members have signed on recently and I just was not there to see it, or they are just AWOL.
Ok so I am running Soundblaster 3Di, and it is usually just fine, unless I try to run Vent, Raidcall, or Mumble, or presumably any other VoIP software. It’ waill randomly shut off all of my system sound, everything. nothing is muted and the only way to fix it is to system restart. I am running windows vista. Any insight would be appreciated.
Ummm, how ‘bout cause the game is only a month old and we only just beat one dragon? I’m sure you’ll get these answers soon enough once some more content is released. It’s called suspense. Also, play Arah explorable mode that might shed at least a little light.
lawl, Awesome! I hope to see more!
So my friends an I started a dance party in front of the monastery that brews ale in Queensdale, and had a blast. so post you pics or vids of your dance parties!
Yeah charr posture was stated to be naturally hunched. The stand erect by choice, to be larger and more intimidating possibly.
Really? from my experience they summon one wolf that doesn’t howl, othe rwolves are usually nearby as well so it could be an aggro thing, or some do summon infinite wolf loops.
the only change to a jumping puzzle i would want is the camera in Antre of Adjournment. I’m a sylvari and the camera screws up in quite a few of the other puzzles, but in this one it freaks the kitten out. Like seizure inducing bad.
Sylvari names are generally Celtic, Welsh, and a little Arthurian. Thogu as stated above there are a few with names like Wysteria and Violet. “More violets I say, less violence!”
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again communication and willingness to switch up your traits and skills on the fly are necessary. You all cannot go in trying to solo people must learn to work together. I have run all of the dungeons (Story mode at the least, some explorables) and I have not really had any major problems that could not be resolved by strategics. And I’m not even really that good. I don’t know if these are things you are or aren’t doing but these are my suggestions.
Just to clarify lol, The rite of ascention was something that the humans did out in the crystal desert, to become closer to the gods and gain their favor. The Seers were capable of infusing our armor so that we could survive the mursaat’s spectral agony.
Yes there’s even mention of an asura gate being commissioned to connect Lion’s Arch with the Dominion of Winds, so hopefully sooner rather than later we will get to see more of them.
You know what’s funny is I don’t think they are OP, and I’m not even that good of a player. Communication within your group can solve a lot of problems, also willingness to switch up your skills a bit to try a different strategy. Dungeon runs with most PUGs are pretty rough though mostly cause everyone comes in trying to hit with big numbers and not supporting the group at all. Teamwork is essential.
Yes I feel like this game caters to my ADD quite nicely. Actually it might be exacerbating my ADD, but whatever.
I was slumming around the Caledon Forest today and just wanted to share something about the origin of the nightmare itself since i’ve seen a lot of you post that Cadeyrn is the source of the nightmare. In the Briarthorn Den there is a renown heart that lets you disguise yourself as a nightmare courtier, when speaking to a few of the actual courtiers you can ask what the nightmare is and where it comes from. One says that it has always been there is the dark parts of our minds. The nightmare is not a concrete force or entity, it is the darkness in the collective dream as the Pale Tree collect all experiences and emotions, not just the nice ones.
It has been stated that they did not want a dedicated healer class because everyone going into a dungeon would want at least one healer, and if your not a healer well tough kitten you can’t join our raid. They wanted every player to feel like they can contribute with their preferred class.
Yeah I run everywhere I hardly even use waypoints, not because I like to run but because I can save money that way. My main point however is that I don’t mind running everywhere, if I really need to get somewhere fast, then yes waypoints are useful but honestly if you just go to the heart of the mists and gate travel to Lion’s Arch you can get most places pretty quickly.
They are indeed referring to the largos. You see they said that after the claw died the attacker ‘vanished’ which means that the assassin was visible at one point. The mursaat are only ever visible to those who have ascended, which I’m not even sure if we can do that anymore.
Yes it seems that asura tech is extremely advanced both magically and mathematically, so most other races can’t even begin to understand how to recreate asuran technology for themselves,
except for the skrrit who when in pacts are arguably smarter then the asura.
Yes! I almost forgot about them. When there are enough skritt around they use their super fast information sharing to speed up the process of discovering how things work.

Oh yeah, I do remember them saying that they do VO work for Mad King Thorn. I am soooo excited for Halloween, can’t wait to see what Thorn is gonna do in GW2!
Yes “asuran” should only be used to refer to something created by the aura
Or belonging to, or … We call those words adjectives
Rather that sticky it make it a random dialogue in Rata Sum
All in all, be glad this is Tyria and not Middle-earth.
lol thanks, admittedly I was drawing a blank when typing this… Thank all those years of public school english :/
Arena Net places some placeholder barriers while they make proper fixes.
It’s not “knee-jerk reaction”, it’s tempestively stopping exploits before it’s too late while they develop a proper response. It’s what devs should do in general instead of letting people exploit for months and then “uh, we fixed that bug everyone got rich with, everyone starting to play now will be a joke”
^This pretty much. Would you rather have the economy become completely out of whack while they are working on a fix that may take weeks?
There actually if a lfg feature similar to GW1 lfg thing, but it’s kind of hidden in the contacts tab. So use it and spread the word!
Yeah, for some reason I can’t remember why, lions arch shut it down after the events in the book.
“what they found” may not refer to a physical object or creature. The way I interpreted it I think they found something about the world or themselves, a great darkness in the soul so to speak. That’s just how I took it.
(edited by Yata.8932)
na, i think he’ll scale down to meet the content you’re going through.
Yes as a lvl 80 on my main I still find it entertaining to go to low level area, and the loot i get seems to be scaled somewhat to my level. Exp karma and coins from events are as well, so I’m not bored by helping my low level friends.
Yes “asuran” should only be used to refer to something created by the aura. Ex: “Asuran architecture is amazing!” Whereas multiple asura would still be “asura.” ie. “Those three asura might blow up half of the city with they way they experiment.”
Well, better is very suggestive. Theres no class that is really significantly weaker than the rest, they all just play bet differently. Try engineer or mesmer, they are said to be the most difficult to master.
Hey! I’m lvl 80 and I would not mind playing with you, in fact I have a guild called Gate of Uroboros full of pretty cool people. My IGN is Riaghan, or you could try and contact Rascid (Tell him Riaghan sent you) if I’m not on. We’d be happy to go exploring with you.
You all raised very good points to my comment, I suppose I hadn’t thought that through all the way. Perhaps it was meant to keep individual players from farming all together in a short period of time, whether it works or not. Would this in any way benefit the economy? I ask because I"m not an economic wizard in any way.
Yata, yes the farming definitely has an effect on the economy because people can’t farm anything effectively so it kind of limits what legitimate players can obtain while farming. The economy is currently interesting – most, if not all crafted items are going to have near-zero or negative margin if you buy all of the raw materials for any given crafted items. What that means is if crafted item A requires components X, Y, Z, then the sum of (X + Y + Z + Listing Fees + 10% GW2 auction cut) will actually be greater than the amount you will make from selling crafted item A.
What does that mean for economy? Well it just means that the fluctuation you will see in the market will only vary by raw materials. High level items will start to stabilize more and more as the game matures and more people are only farming mostly high level area materials while low level materials will be more than their current prices due to the large amount of people of every level range. Eventually, if the raw material is part of a legendary or cool looking exotic, you can bet that it will be expensive because most people will eventually get to the point where that’s their main goal.
Of course, this is a very simplistic view of economy – the actual details of a full scale economy that GW2 has can get very, very complicated.
You can obtain money by farming ‘expensive’ raw materials by selectively picking monsters or finding good farm spots so the idea behind the anti-farm coding is to force players to run to different zones or areas to get a large variety of different loot and “experience” the game more. The problem with it at a very baseline view is that bots have figured out a way around it and probably will for a long time, while us regular farmers are being punished.
Thank you, that makes a lot of sense. So it seems they implemented it to try and stop the botters sooner rather than later, regardless of if it worked or not, and it kind of backfires. So I would think it won’t last forever, I would expect to see a change in their attempted solution to deal with it. Since it is rather negatively affecting people who do this.
it seems that ‘kitten’ is a derogatory tern to describe Koreans… Though I’ve honestly never heard it, ever.
Edit: lol yeah kitten, yeah.

also you can go to other lower level maps, and still get good exp, also do map completion, nice exp there.
I vote Blood Legion. Elementalists seem to have the most direct form of magic, while necromancers and mesmers would seem more at home in the Ash legion.
I think the code is in place to discourage sitting in one area constantly, turning other areas into ghost towns eventually, yeah it’s annoying to some but it forces you do switch it up so at least there’s less monotony.
Are you serious? What high level areas are you talking about? It’s easy to find one happening even in Orr. Or just go to another area. The achievement is there to try to get people to do events more often, even if it’s just for your daily.
My sylvari, Riaghan, and my guild-mate Rascid Looking into the distance all epic like.
Still need that Whispers Mantle, my shoulders look wimpy… lol
That’s so cool, What kind of trees are those? anyone know?
Good question, I wonder if there is a running joke that made them use ‘kitten?’ Or maybe they chose it because kittens are cute and harmless. Idk
I would kind of like that, but i would want the ‘timezones’ to be consistent. Like for example I’m swimming in the Bloodtide coast and the sun has just set. I should not go to Lions Arch and see that it’s now the middle of the day for some reason. Moot I know, but that’s me.
D: Queenie must have ran away and been hit by a book cart or something…
Hmmm, probably. It was stated somewhere that you can obtain pretty much anythigng that an npc wears, but I don’t know just how true this is. Maybe you have to craft it.
This is a brand new MMORPG and it is exactly what i want. Yeah it still has flaws, but they do not break the game for me. I love the depth of the world and the attention to detail most of all.
Just remember, the people ranting and whining about every little thing is that it is brand new, barely 4 weeks old at this point they’re trying their best to iron out problems I’m sure.
The game JUST came out these things will get better in the future. Jeeze.
You aren’t INTENDED to get FULL Exotic or all sets of high end weapons in a WEEK….that’s why the prices are right for travel so you have to go off your farming beaten path and do something else to get money so you can afford other things.
Game is WAD hurray for Anet in their wisdom.
Thank you, someone gets it. You’ll get your shiny eventually, just try not to die all the time, and don’t waypoint across three maps.
Also @Terok you don’t need to grind to win the game. That’s what they wanted, you still have to do some sort of grind to get the things you want, and even then there’s a lot of variety for events and crafting and whatnot, I find, so it’s at least not a boring grind for a while.
