Your WvW experience is going to be dictated by what tier your server is in. The competitive players and guilds have mostly congregated in the top 4-5 servers to fight each other, leaving the lower tiers filled with people who either don’t want to be competitive or don’t know how the game works.
Or people stay in lower tiers where they can be competitive and still get into smaller fights. Lower tiers can be a lot of fun too. If you want to see your zerg crush the other zergs that is fine too.

Why do people care so much about WvW map completion? Oo. I mean i’ve never known a single person working on a legendary ever get hung up on the world completion. Usually its the, well idk, 700g precursor or something. You kno there’s no reweard for it right?
If you play WvW enough you eventually take everything, i have wvw map’s done on 2 characters jus from playing not even trying to do maps. o.o

But what server do you play on? For some servers it can be done but others have a terrible time getting all the keeps. Not to mention the people who don’t like wvw don’t always have a group that can grab that odd tower at 9am when the zergs are not around. It can be a bit rough.

I know a bunch of you guys are upset with the score jumping of SF and I may feel the same as you. Think of it this way though, SF might not be quite up to par this week with only 1 days notice. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. They are a class act, the whole lot of them.

If GoM drops to t8 tonight, then we will fight our way out. If we have a week to escape the drop, then we will fight our way out. Either way our destination is through mountains of enemy corpses. Changes little for us.
Well those T7 guys were posting pics of spiking a Anet employee….so the only fair thing to do is move SF and let us right this injustice for you guys.

You could offer the inhabitants of the bottom 3 servers free transfers to the server of their choice , then turn that Tier into 3 maps of open world pvp…no more ppts…open keeps & towers to seige up for bases, but no points invlolved in taking them…no camps…

I’ll have more info once Habib gets in, but we are going to bump the ratings of the tier 8 teams to attempt to partially address this today. That’s not going to stop things from sliding back towards the current state, so there will be discussions about larger changes that are necessary to address this issue. But for now we are just going to juke the stats, as they say.
If this fixes things I see cakes with your name on them in the future. No rat poison in them either. Food for thought.
No point in resetting their rating. If they keep losing, their rating should keep dropping. Once they start winning, their rating will go up quite fast.
Remember: WvW is not a mandatory part of the game.

Medium changes based on time of day. Every servers “population” is actually the population logged on at the time you are looking across WvW, Pve, and PvP.
Honesty the FC and ET alliance would never work, there will always be people who ignore it and there comes the “you backstabber” oh and we on FC believe it was ET who broke the pact. Not saying it to start an argument, I’m saying it cause people will always believe there side is the honor able one in any war. Who knows maybe FC did attack first, point being no one will agree. Every side is Justice and every side is Evil :p

No you don’t. There’s a reason we stayed in Tier 7 and SF dropped to tier 8.
Two weeks before Sorrows dropped down they scored 199k to your 195k. The week Sorrows lost to HoD and GoM you scored 147k and they scored 135K while GoM scored a whopping 329k. The week Sorrows came to T8 FC beat them 215k to 211k. As of those weeks we could have taken you. Be a bit more smug please.
Seriously, everyone needs a night presence in T8. Right now oceanic are more need on FC and SF. ET has pretty good coverage really early EST, oceanic time. No harm with Oceanics coming. It is the people who go to SF during US prime times that i care about.
Don’t forget NSP will have a lot of points stolen at the first week unless they do a massacre on T7… That will increase the rating gap between HoD (which will be red next week) and SF even more…
The best bet for SF if they really want to leave T8 is that NSP die and drop dead.
If you read what imalog.7689 said and the score for the week before, the purposely targeted NSP just to make them drop down. Now look at the history from GoM and HoD….the mostly likely outcome is that NSP is going to massacre T7.
Saying that the best thing for SF is that NSP dies is like saying that ET finally came off the red team due to hard work alone and had nothing to do with transfers. Not that I have a problem with transfers to our enemies just wished people went to FC….feel like they are much more deserving.
I would like this if you could only choose 1 server that you could overflow and would need to stay there. Kind of like a home away from home. Also, if anyone from T7/8 did get a queue you would need to be booted.

IMO Anet is not the best company out there in responding to clear feedback on issues. ..they certainly take their servers down a lot of these minor “upgrades” but never address any real issues. I will continue to speak up and continue to, until they address the issues or a new game comes out (ESO maybe) that has a WvW component that is done better….right now its one of the better things out there…so they can get away with this shoddiness…as soon as a competitor shows up they better get their kitten straight… lol
ESO has sign-up for beta now, almost signed up the other day. Yeah I played SWTOR and believed everything they told me as I stayed on a dead server for months….then BAM, stuck us on Fat Man with all the geared people that were able to pvp everyday, while we had to scrape a match or two if we were lucky. After that have little faith in what people say, plus there was a post somewhere where they gave reasons why they don’t release the numbers. (if I find it will post it)
I honestly wish he would release the numbers. So what if people know? I truly don’t think there will be any sort of backlash that they haven’t already seen from people. What are they going to do, complain about queues?

Just posting it again because it got moved to that abyss called the suggestion forums and for some reason got locked there. I’ll bring it up until the devs choose to do something.
You are from SoR, you know best how the “top 6” servers stack up against each other. They don’t, at all. There’s no systemic way to compensate for guild-hopping, and no reason for intervention in the top tiers because any problems there are one hundred percent due to the action of players.
Tier 8, on the other hand, is a legitimate concern. But that’s not what this topic is about.
It would be cool if we got things that only affected camps. But if we got those it would have to be after a consistent out manned buff. Maybe something like 45 min to an hour in and the ai comes out. Or maybe something as simple as a few extra guards for out manned servers. I’m not sure how I feel about breakout style events. Those seem almost cheaty to me. We’ll see what they plan on doing to fix it with the next months update though. I hope it can balance some of the population imbalances somehow.
im pretty sure someone on et with a bit of power has a vendetta against fc. its been obvious from the extra attention weve been getting since about this time last week, but the difference is now its happening at the expense of their own borderland and probably costing them more.
Yah, I will have to admit, Pay Back, does seem to aptly describe it. Pretty much, for a while. a few weeks, with the whole “alliance” talk, and being under dogs, a good chunk of ET’s forces were more then happy to leave then entirety that is FC alone, the lack of these forces to back up a move against FC pretty much kept any plans to make a serious move against FC highly limited to say the least.
ET was more then happy to put our focus on SF and our own BL.
At some post, that went pear shaped, and on Friday Reset, Feb 16. FC painted ET’s border Blue. Well, even the ones that did not want to deal with FC, and were happy to extend the olive branch of truce, could not deny what was before them, there was a genuine feeling of having been played by FC, in that regard. You (Someone on FC) asked for an alliance we (a Portion of the people on ET) extended our hand back to you, and we get stomped the following week by you.
Now days, the commanders and guilds that want to attack FC, do not seem to be at a lack to get people willing and riled up to do so, where in the past they were.
Or has been my personal observations on that matter.
But to be fair, that person who asked for the alliance is one of the most disliked people on the server by many of the regular wvwers because of his attitude towards others.
I am starting this thread because for some reason(I really have no idea) the last thread about this was moved to suggestions and then locked(no one even cursed each other out). If anyone would like to check out the original thread here original thread it is.
The best solution in the thread to fixing this problem was as follows: T8 rating need a floor so that if something happens that would cause the rating to drop to an obnoxious level(like they currently are) it doesn’t take months for servers with T7 potential to get out. We need the rating floor because when servers like Kaineng and DR launched themselves out of T8 they took a lot of the points with them(Ferg had 1000 score in October and were down to 653 by the time they left). This caused the T8 rankings to drop down so low that unless the server that drops in wins by a ton, they lose points.

Almost no one thinks that the ratings need to be reset to fix this, just bumped up a bit for T8.
We realize that T8 has a population that doesn’t WvW as much as the higher tiers, but that doesn’t mean we should be ignored.
People are leaving T8 now because we have been stuck with teams like Sorrow’s, Devona’s, and Kaineng for months and people are tired
NO ONE blames Sorrow’s for our mess. It could have been any other server that caused this problem.
Please, no trolling. If you don’t think T8 needs to be fixed give a reason why. Don’t come in here thinking you know our situation unless you have at least read on it. Maybe check out that post above if you have some time or at the very least, check the scores from the past month and a half here millenium score history.

Why don’t you just have a person go through all existing bundles and set the no-wvw-flag on anything but bundles with visual effects only? It can’t be that hard to build a list of all existing bundles in your game, can it?
You’re not the only one wondering about this and you’re not the only not expecting an answer. I find it laughable that ANet has to ask players which consumables may not be appropriate for WvW.
It’s also laughable that one poster can mention one and get it banned. Why? Because they got planked once while downed and were stomped because of it? All or nothing IMO or use judgement to ban the really OP ones like Gears and Kits.
It is even funnier that the WvW tier 8 threads have gotten 0 developer comments.

T6(I think?) NSP/BP/AR is a very close tier for any guilds losing morale.
BP and AR however do have more built up guilds (larger zergs)
NSP has smaller guilds working together and several large ones. Trust me you will always find a decent fight here
Join on on NSP we are the underdog (yet an FC guild recently transferred to BP….even though they are the tier leader)

If everyone in here could read that thread I would be thrilled. If you agree please post! ANet might actually do something if we get people from other servers to agree or make suggestions.
Think people are trying to say is what will happen when at tier 7 team move down to tier 8. Most likely the same thing they are competitive in tier 7 and not sure the outcome will be any different.
But SF lost in T8 the first week it dropped down and barely won the second week. The week before in T7 SF barely lost out to HoD. Now SF is crushing T8. Something changed in SF. They are clearly doing better than before so they deserve a chance in T7. For all we know they have twice as many players as before and can storm past T7.
Honestly what’s so bad about fighting the same 2 servers all the time if the match is close? I’ve enjoyed the BG/Kain/TC match-up more than any other match-up I’ve ever seen and would be thrilled to fight the same servers all the time.
I can understand how it could be bad in T8 where the top server always wins but doesn’t leave the tier, but the problem is that there currently isn’t any server that would be a good fit. SF dominates now but I think any server from T7 would dominate just as much if not more. Do you think the blowouts will be more fun if it’s a different server every week?
But Sorrow;s as they are now hasn’t been tested against T7. They have a much higher pop in WvW than they did when they dropped into T8. When they dropped into T8 against FC and ET they lost the first week, and won the second by 15k. 4 weeks later they are scoring 200k points higher than FC. The week before Sorrow’s dropped down they scored fairly closely to Henge. Something is there in Sorrow’s that wasn’t there before. Maybe if someone drops down we could compete,
I don’t know why everyone seems to think everyone in T8 wants WULD. I want Sorrow’s gone because of course we can not take them. It is clear to anyone who has played in T8 that somehow Sorrow’s population increased. They have such a large population advantage that they can wipe both ET and FC off the map, except for reset night. They have better overall coverage than us. They have larger zergs than us. IT IS NOT FUN.
BUT that doesn’t mean T8 shows that the WULD system would be better. The glicko system doesn’t work well in T8 because of the large transfers that kittened it’s score. When Kaineng and Devona’s moved out of T8, they dragged a large part of the points out of T8. This caused a gigantic sinkhole for anyone unfortunate enough to fall into T8. This problem with glicko doesn’t mean WULD would be better, it just means that the math is wrong.
WULD would cause a lot of problems that most of its supporters happily ignore. What I (and many others) propose would be for ANet to step in every once in a great while to adjust the scores. If they tweaked the scores to allow for some servers to move or even be placed down or up tiers it would be great. Sadly, ANet doesn’t care about tier 8.
After reading through the entirety of this thread I’ve come to the conclusion that most who offer some semblance of a solution have taking the position of punishing the successful servers which reminds me of the mentality of the OWS (bowel)movement.
I just wonder how any of these servers could feel an ounce of pride knowing they couldnt use the metrics everyone else has used that have been on top whether it was t1 -t8.
Take Kainege for instance they were bottom of the wv3 ranking just 2 months ago now they are on the threshold of moving in to t1 so you guys in t8 do some self reflection and you’ll discover its your crying and quitting mentality that’s your problem not your competition.
So lets change the metrics to me just reeks of poor sportsmanship.
