You keep saying x server can stand toe to toe with tier 7 but why don’t the scores reflect that?

Also, new players to the game coming into WvW take one step in, get rushed by over 20-30 players, and leave. Do they come back? no. Is it fun for them? no.

We need to look at this tier situation. The math is most certainly not “fine as is.”

Then those players aren’t really into WvW getting rushed over by zergs happens in all tiers not just T8. If you can’t take getting rolled by a zerg then nothing will change how you feel about wvw that goes for every tier.

I gave you an objective look your opinion is obviously biased. What do you think Anet will do if you use common sense?

They will look at the data which will be more detailed then mos millenium they aren’t gonna have the whole dev team log into ET and see how wvw is there.

Lets say for arguments sake they log into your server to see how it is there they will get a FEEL for it. Then go back and do what? Compare with the data.

I am on FC and I CAN tell you that ET can stand toe to toe with us, but neither of us can touch Sorrow’s. If we COMBINED we might stand a chance, until the early morning where we need to catch some zs. Have you ever played down in T8? How can you make any guess as to how badly we are outnumbered without taking a trip down here?
Another question, how is it that ET and FC can both stand against Sorrows on reset night? It isn’t some magical fairy dust that grants us mad skillz. It is because for that day populations are much more even than on any other. For that day we can have fair fights. For the rest of the week we lose, and we lose hard.

Wed and Thursday night we organized our guild and a few others and brought in all our Noobs to teach them…. It was great actually having a decent size zerg and being on Mumble to coordinate…. I was almost happy… As we were walking them around the BL we happened upon multiple SF and ET invaders that had a sudden Oh kittenmoment… I would again like to thank the SF and ET crews we annihilated multiple times. Our noobs are now all about getting into the fray and I pray we can get some more in there…. Coordinated Noobs are as bright as a bag of hammers…. but they are fun to watch….

So much complaining on this thread… I bet within a month everything will settle back to normal so who cares, it’s a game, and sometimes it’s fun to see different competition, even if that competition is way better or way worse than you are.

Besides, how nice it will be for Sorrows Furnace or Ferguson’s Crossing to get a week or two in a higher tier before they’re right back down to tier 7 for the rest of eternity… or what if it actually get’s some PvE’ers from those lower ranked servers to start WvW; “holy crap, my server is in tier 1??? Maybe I should stop chaining events in Orr and go do that WvW thing?!?”

Is it possible that when you do these big patches that you update as smaller chunks? I realize these updates are massive and you want to do big updates, but they suck when people try to play at these times. We get trickles of 200kb/sec maybe.

If you could just push bug fixes separately from the big game changes that would be swell.

There’s balance. Balance in GW2 is a lot like RPS. Except it’s not.

Thieves and Mesmers are Scissors, Guardians are Rock and Eles and warriors are Paper. Engineers and Rangers are…Mushrooms.

Scissor beats paper and Paper beats the other paper. Paper and Rock sometimes come close to beating scissors but then scissors disappears and comes back to try again later.
Rock beats nothing and nothing beats rock and everything beats Mushrooms.
That together is perfect class balance.

As has already been stated. It is misguided to say that legendaries are currently “hard” to get. There is nothing difficult about it, and it is instead based on sheer time put into mindless grind and pure dumb luck in getting the precursors.

Lets take the karka event. 10% of those who did it got a precursor, which means pretty much a free legendary, but did any of those people put in more effort than the others? No, they simply got LUCKY!

This is not how legendaries should work, there shou always be a a point of effort to them, a questline, or something to actually make them feel legendary. Legendaries in Gw2 are not hard to get or about skill, its about your wallet for buying the items needed. You don’t see people complain over the mastery part of the legendaries, or the need to explore the entire map, and I do not remember seeing all that many players complain over the 1 million karma requirement either.

What people have an issue with, is how getting legendaries has NOTHING to do with skill or achieving something in the game! Something like requiring you reach a certain fractal level, that would be more about skill, and would still take a long time, but the difference would be that if you put the time and effort into it, you would be rewarded for it, whereas now you not only simply have to sink time in to grind gold to BUY the legendary, but in addition to that they have put in the frankly kitten diminishing returns to counteract the very thing you have to do to get to it!

If you think spending 500$ to buy an item constitutes making it “hard to get” or shows how “skilled” you are, then you really need to get a clue of how things that actually require work function. Heck, just off the top of my head I can think of the hunter and priest staves from vanilla wow that required you to do certain quests to show skill in your class and people who actually got those items were often a mark of being good at the class.

Ofc, wow decided to also make legendaries a fairly certain drop, but at least they still require you to down some of the hardest bosses of the game (pre-mop) in order to get them, we have nothing like that in GW2.

Gandalf just got a legendary weapon with a nice skin. ANet needs to take a lesson out of Tolkien’s book. Legendary weapons that only have cool skins should only be found through luck. Truly legendary weapons should be forged through grinding.

I was glad to see we got a couple of buffs and fixes, but extremely disappointing that so many other glaring issues remain untouched. Why doesn’t Anet just remove all minion skills and rename us Warlock or Dark Mage or something? Adding to my disappointment is the fact that my ele received some really stupid nerfs for no reason.

Agreed, what people have to realize is the thief burst damage simply makes many builds nonviable, or at least fodder for thieves. It makes SPvP a glorified game of rock paper scissors, essentially making player skill and experience moot. That being said there are nerfs and balances that are needed for all classes, but the thief burst damage is probably the most visible, and most frustrating for players.

Yeah, except we are supposed to be paper to the thieves rock and let me tell you, that rock rips the kitten out of our paper.

I don’t use lich, I use golem and I run a condition spec. I actually really like the golem even with all the issues. I tried to spec into giving my minions a ton of health but they still die in a heartbeat.
For the record, these are all really WvWvW and t/sPvP issues. In PVE they are alright and I don’t mind going minion build. They have a lot of fixes that need to be done. After those are fixed I might just go back to my minion build for everything, but as of right now they are kittened.

what he means, is that a lot of the minions outright stop attacking when you enter DS. You also can’t use the minion actives when in DS.

Can you use any actives? Is this uniquely a minion master concern?

It is probably because you posted 2 other posts about how you though Anet was doing a kitten job. Take a week to relax from the game and the forums. You will feel better.

You’re kidding, right? Fine except those two issues? Have you ever used the minions? You would know that there are a ton of issues with minions as is. Flesh golems not going under water, pets dieing on changing forms, terrible life expectancy, giving a free rally because of that lack of health, not regening health, and many more. Minion masters are fine, if you like a kittened set up.

No, we need to keep expecting changes as paying customers but also realize that Anet doesn’t give two kitten about the class.

PVE necro is still awesome. Pvp is where necro really suffers. My minions are great in PVE, but wvw? Just a way for people to rally.

You know, I spent a lot of time today and yesterday crushing Devona and Ferg groups into the ground. I have to say, since the other day when groups were walking around taking advantage of the Guardian mace block glitch, nobody has stood out.

There was a warrior from NOOB who was able to chop me up in about 2 seconds with a greatsword, but he spent all his time hiding in the back waiting for targets of opportunity.

Ferg’s has almost been nonexistant in there in EB! The best fight I had from anyone from there was from a female Guardian toon and it wasn’t a good fight because it was close. It was a good fight because they didn’t turn around and try to flee when I started to lay into them!

I’m getting tired of people fleeing from me. I’m waiting for the day when you kids that are supposed to make up the competition start to realize that there’s more to this game than racking up karma points.

I’m looking for that righteous battle! I don’t think I’m going to get it this week if the last two days are any indication.

Devona’s seems to be completely demoralized from having been crushed by smaller armies all day. They went from fully zerging us in EB, to hiding in a tower with the “outnumbered” buff.

Ferguson’s used to be aggressive when they outnumbered everybody 10 to 1, but those days seem to be long gone. Now they’re even worse than Devona’s is about scattering and fleeing. If I can crush a single zerg in a day, it’s a lucky day because they hardly seem to roam past their little side of the map.

I don’t care who on your server did what to win the week. Or who transferred out. Or who is fighting with who in the chat. What I wanna know is, which one of you are going to put up a fight?

You’d think it was fun, but crushing everybody without resistance is not fun. Kaineng is outnumbered! I don’t understand why this is happening. Oh. Yeah I do. We have me.

You guys pretty much lose during the day. I am not saying we don’t fight hard, but FC always comes out on top. We have more numbers so that is how it should happen.

I love how you guys have already forgotten in one short week that you used to be the ones night capping your way to victory week after week in this bracket.

Since Kaineng was brought online, FC has been picking up 50K+ points every night while night capping us. When you guys beat us by 500K points (most of which was gained while we were offline), we congratulated you. We also warned you it wouldn’t always be this way. You guys laughed and told us to bring it on.

We campaigned on the forums to get more players because we couldn’t compete with only 20 people, and Kaineng was (and still is) the smallest server in NA. We recruited our PVE players. We got our guilds talking to each other. SoS stepped up and stopped all the night capping problems we were having for us. Turn-about is fair play, right?

Now you guys are getting a small dose of what it was like to be Kaineng for the last 6 weeks and out comes the tears.

Here’s a screenshot from Sept 29, when FC was night-capping us on a regular basis. Hop over to the Kaineng War Report while it’s still online and take a walk down memory lane. See how much complaining we were doing about “fair” and “honor”.

Kaineng’s not the reason your server is in the bottom tier, and we’re not the reason you’re getting beaten by a smaller server. If your server is behind 22 other servers in NA (all of which are using the same rules to win), you’re not doing something right.

Don’t take that out on Kaineng.

The difference is that Ferg owned the map the entire day for the entire week. You guys lost during the day and took it all at night. The two are not at all the same.

They capped everything at night. I’m not trying to take away from the win, but it is true. Prime time for US had some good battles, but DR and FC came out on top. This is the first real taste I have had of night capping on FC. It kind of sucks knowing that unless we get more off peak players we can’t compete.

In that case Ascii, him telling us how to play the necro is a bit silly don’t ya think?

Here’s what you need to do, press H, click the lower left tab with the crossed swords click go to heart of the mists, then walk forward and a little bit left and go through the portal to Lions Arch, now heres the complicated bit, waypoint to any zone on the map and go and wander there, if you want to do PvE stay out of WvW.

Hold on a sec, can you give a few more details? I tried walking a bit left but I didn’t see the portal. Did I do something wrong?
On a serious note, leave WvW if you want to farm nodes. If you want to kill players solo that is fine, as long as you call out positions of their groups in chat. The chat is there for a reason. If you don’t like it, leave it. Create a second chat so you don’t need to look at it all the time. Just switch back to help out every now and again.

With the new patch we will get invisbots! A whole new breed of superbots that kill all. I want superbots darn it.

Two weeks ago DH was PvEing through the maps at night against SR and SoR. They made it second after SR with only 2k difference.

Last week same matchup and DH thought all they need to do is improving their daytime performance to win that round. While SR gave up on the DH nightzerg SoR pushed back. Hard.

Result was not only that DH gave up after facing reasonable resistance, on top of it certain individuals spread false rumors about guild transfers and hacking. And here, not 24h after they were beaten down one tier the same folks are padding themselves on their shoulders again. Some of DH really need to learn some diginity.

I cannot agree with Rashka more. I’m from Darkhaven and last week was really quite sad. Everyone on DH blamed the hackers and their effect on morale, but all I really saw was SoR shutting down our night game. Hell, I was even on one of the “nightcap” runs where we’d usually flip the whole map on EB in an hour, and we couldn’t even get our own keep back. We’d go from tower to tower flipping it and SoR would be right behind us just retaking it, essentially negating anything that our “uber organized nightcapping team” achieved.

I’ve said it in private and I’ve said it in public on DH and I’ve been shunned hardcore for it. Our zerg tactics with a ton of people on a gate might seem like organization to you all, but it really isn’t. It’s organized to the point of people getting karma all in a ball, but as soon as servers wise up to it (aka SoR), we got shut down. We can only zerg at night in crap brackets and we’ll never move up as a server to higher brackets if that’s the only thing we can do.

Sure, maybe some SoR people hacked. But the fact that people would rather kitten about it on forums/vent all the while SoR was taking towers from us legitimately and then us blaming it on the hackers just shows how out of touch we really are.

As to the new match up:

Everyone on DH is praising how organized we are. That’s a huge load of kitten. We had numbers over both Anvil and Ferguson’s and everyone knows it. Our own borderlands got swamped by Anvil and Ferg by losing all three keeps within an hour (while we had a queue in it) while we were being held even in EB and barely making headway in Anvil borderlands. Only when people from Ferguson’s and Anvil started dropping off and our queues remained did we make headway. We easily took EB (yayyy organization?) with numbers and we finally took back our garrison on DH while…surprise surprise, no one was defending orb up north.

The fact that it took over an hour to take a supply camp. A SUPPLY CAMP with a 3:1 numbers advantage while having the elevation advantage (Longview -> Faithleap) against Anvil just shows to go how little organization we had. At the time we had 3 commanders running around, while our other supply camps were still being taken and the only people communicating via /map or /team were pugs.

I’ve seen way too much backpadding on DH’s side (forums and ingame) about us slamming Ferg and Anvil. Congratulations. We should be. No offense, but we’re 200 points higher than both of them in the overall ratings, we have a much larger population and a lot more players do WvW on DH. DH isn’t going to learn anything from this matchup because we’re wiping the floor because of our population. We’re going to placed in the bracket above us and maybe do well, maybe not. Either way, we’re not going to make any progression with no one wanting to man up and realize our tactics aren’t tactics, they’re just throwing people at the objective.

There are a few commanders on DH that I do enjoy watching, however they’re so few and far between (and hardly play enough) that people don’t actually appreciate anything they’re saying. I’ve yet to see commanders use squad commands besides the supply check, I’ve yet to see multiple commanders working in conjunction with each other (besides standing next to each other at a gate) to ensure our supply camps in our territory are being defended.

Might of been a rant, but I feel it needed to be said. The general tone of this thread is just so depressing as it is.
