This would make off hour coverage even more important. If DH and FC are fighting, and DH has a lot more oceanic coverage they can easily wrack up points. Their entire bl and side of EB will fortified after they can make FC paper. This would make it impossible for FC to take the lead. It would encourage defense during prime time, but off hours would decide the game even more than they do now.

I’m not sure why you guys are having so much trouble with grasp. It doesn’t fail all that often for me. If you guys use it more I think you’ll find that it is amazing.

With HoD suffering a great lost with Devon being out of the forum games for 3 weeks due to excessive “Yo mama” jokes. The HoD forum warriors struggled to match their dominance on the WvW scene. With the return of Devon tonight at midnight, will there be a revamped forum wars for next week?! Who knows?!

The biggest forum competition seemed to come from the one and only Narsil, who single handled wracked up: 40 posts! With five double posts! One triple. And the legendary quintuplet post! And there is still time to get more in. Though it does seem many people seem to skip over Narsil’s posts because of the spam. As seen by Silas Drake: “I honestly don’t read anything you post… so (I know I’m a jerk).” Even though the lack of reading going towards Narsil’s post this seems to be the biggest competition for Devon, seeing as Narsil has not figured out there is indeed an edit button for posts. Will Narsil’s forum spam match Devon’s Yo Mama jokes? Stay tuned for next weeks episode of: “The Clash of the Trolls: Episode 87”

Next we look upon [Deth] after calling out a number of guilds on reset night for their relentless T0 Blobbing (Yes, this is a GREATER number of people in T1 blobs). [Deth] has failed to show or respond in the GvGs they called for. Has [Deth] fallen from grace when they were once a dominate force in the GvGs in the lower tiers? Have they recruited to many PvErs? Questions that only they can answer.

[MU] is our next topic of discussion. With the 80 man [MU] zerging upscales and ambient creatures. Can anyone put a stop to them?! [CoSA] had the best approach of power rezing like a bunch of pros. There recent post of the video titled “Zombies” led to a debate in the thread about having skill compared to SPAM 1 HARDER FOOLZ, sorry about that I got carried away. [MU] has definitely made an impact on HoD’s WvW scene and will hopefully stay for the long run.

The lack of fireworks from the one and only Taco Thief is also up in the air. Has the sky rocketing prices of fireworks finally reached his purse? Or has the constant T0 zeros from HoD darkened out the sky covering them? Either way it is a sad disappointment that there was a lack of fireworks though out this match.

We shall now hit up the conspiracy theory rolling around the Bronze League, led by the one and only Styx of GoM. Though I have heard though the grape vine and weeds. That HoD has planed this fall or dive to Bronze League since the start of TA. Yes, you heard correct the famous Titan’s Alliance. The TA was hidden in the shadows to prepare for the Bronze League so HoD could sweep the competition. As HoD slowly unveils TA to the Bronze League will the infamous Buygate be able to compete as HoD pulls a Kaineng and moves up to T1 in a matter of days. Keep on following HoD to find out! Will Styx uncover the real secrets hidden since the start of the game? Or will he crash and burn as new forum warriors appear and push him aside like a solo upscale ranger in WvW.

ok i understand, the reasion is that ds is a transfomration, but i think ds should be looked differently, as it is a class mechanic.

Also there some differences between ds and other transformations. For example both ds and plague are both instant, but if you start to stomp and then hit the plague button, then the stomp will not be canceled. For ds in order to do that, you have to use that strange thing, which involves hitting ds and stomp at the same time. So i think ds works more like a down state, as in down state you also cannot do the things, you cannot do in transformations.

I would be a fool for building to face jade quarry when im facing henge of denvri the way they build and zerg is completely different i left gold tier servers because of Q times. The fact is vs servers in bronze tier this kitten works im sorry you need 1600 toughness to survive the thousand man march in gold tiers down in the bronze its a 50man march at its high time you dont need toughness you need burst with a small amount of CC to stop their opening strikes. battles in bronze are decided in the first 10 seconds of contact a good player in this domain builds to handle that. So yes vs the hammer train this class would shatter but vs the zerg it shatters formations. understanding the differences between your enemies is important if i treated anvil rock like i did jade i would never die thats very true they dont have enough players to put out enough damage to drop a 1600 toughness necro not to mention they dont have as many good commanders so once i shatter their formation it stays broken. in gold tier if a formation got shattered by a single necro that necro would be hacking because each well can only hit 5 players. and if you want to know why im in a bad bronze teir server its because the challenge of fighting 20v50 amuses me as someone playing a game the amusement factor is the reason i continue to play. I dont play or not play based on if my team wins i play or quit based on my personal performance and this has forced me to use builds that are far from standard and use a playstyle other than paint the ground red. I am so sorry yall are still sticking around the gold tier servers where your impact in the zerg is just another circle on the ground.

I did a 25-hour charity livestream thing a couple of weeks ago and ended up spending most of it fiddling with broadcast settings trying to find something that would work. Best I could get was 480p, still choppy, with the added bonus of having about a half-second delay on all my skills in-game due to the strain on my system. I can stream other games just fine, though, so part of the problem is probably just GW2 hogging up resources faster than VLK’s mama at a buffet.

TL;DR: No Mooby sniping for the foreseeable future. I believe HoD has some streamers, though. You know what to do.

But HoD streamers are lame. I have an immense feeling of self importance when I hear “Kill the necro!” as we hunt you down. Stupid tacos and their lame internet…

To be fair, I always yell, “Kill the necro!” in every fight we get into even when none are present. Necros are jerks.

Just to dispel the entirely false story about [Fun] and other members of DH defending a tower the other night. Here is a video of part of our defense of the tower. You will see only 15 different players, two arrow carts, on ballista (not used during invasion), and the tower NPCs. We had only one warrior using hammer stuns. Furthermore, of those fifteen players, three of them were uplevels that were below level 40, including my engineer.

Didn’t watch the whole video, but I did do a quick count of blue and green dots. There are more than 15 not included in the blob of dots that I can’t count. What I could do was count the number of players in the blob! Those two added together gave me more than 25. You also conveniently didn’t have video of the other siege that you placed after the events in that video. I know they were there, because I destroyed 4 of them myself. Good job though. I appreciate the effort.

You sound like you never fought [Mend] during SF/ET/FC days… If you change the guild tags and the server name, the scene will be the same.

This was far more impressive than anything I have ever seen of Mend. They emote spammed better than anyone I have ever seen! Coordinated hammer trains turtling in towers and showing off their mad skillz is far better than Mend. I would go as far as saying Fun is the best thing that has ever happened to DH.

But since DH has a shot at 3rd and FC really doesn’t I think DH has a motivational advantage over FC. So while otherwise I would predict we win by 20-30k, in this scenario I predict this to be super close all the way through.

We played DH 3 weeks in a row right before season 1. We beat them all 3 times.

Yet they managed to squeak a win out in week 2. So even though they’d lost to us 3x in a row they still pulled out a win. So clearly when DH and FC are involved, who won the previous meeting doesn’t mean squat.

Make yourself look weak. And when the enemy comes in the the kill, show your true strength and fight with the ferocity of a thousand tigers.

Those three weeks were just our way of letting you think you had the advantage. While we rested for the true battle.

Okay so I wasn’t going to reply to Lily. Was hoping someone else would explain the big differences between WvW and PvE. The main thing being: you don’t really need to be mobile in PvE.

You don’t play any PvE do you? Putting the wurm up in a “safe area” especially in Fractals or a dungeon isn’t usually an option. And if it is, you don’t have line of sight which means you will teleport to the closest wall and not all the way where you need to go. If the enemy can’t reach it, 9 times out of 10 you can’t either. And neither Spectral walk or Dark Path takes you out of a Legendary boss’s AoE. You’re only option becomes dodging, but unless you know the boss’s pattern perfectly and are not suffering from lag then its going to pressure you very hard if not just kill you. And that last statement is straight up wrong. Mobility is extremely important in PvE. I’ve seen more people die to trash mobs then I should because people don’t move. Its the difference between being able to down champion bosses and eating dirt on a veteran.

Hell, For the New TA path I had to switch from my necromancer to my Mesmer because of how hot one of the bosses was on my tail. I couldn’t escape, couldn’t get out of the way, He homed in on my so spectral walk was useless, Same problem with the Wurm’s line of sight. The Mesmer easily dropped agro, could keep out of harms way, had multiple stun breaks to stop attack and distracted with clones. There was no comparison to the mobility options and just all around defensive options. The mesmer, even with far worse armor and weapons just had all the tools needed to essentially make fun of the boss while the necromancer was easily pulled into its AOE even with prediction.

Also, your WvW experience says nothing about this problem. Many people who play in WvW(but not all, defiantly the ones you faced though) are actually easier to kill then NPCs. Hell, I saw 2-3 people chasing you into Spectral wall hitting it multiple times before it faded… You say its good, I say you where fighting the bottom of the barrel.

It is a different kind of mobility in pve and wvw. In wvw you need to dodge a lot because that person is going to be using skills when it best suits him. That pve mob is scripted to use his massive attack every 20 seconds and he will use that attack every 20 seconds. Comparing pve to pvp for most classes is silly, and for necro above all.

Also…Spectral Walk does not make you tankier. Spectral Armor does.

Yeah, spectral walk doesn’t allow you to tank anything better – that’s spectral armour.

I’ve been testing it (Spectral Armour) in WvW and it works quite well with deathshroud – pop spectral armour, then deathshroud and it’s quite surprising how tanky you can be – albeit for 7 seconds.

Spectral walk does allow you to tank better if you pop into deathshroud. 2% LF gain each hit while in deathroud means that you are probably running faster than the enemies(you have swiftness and they are probably crippled/chilled) and you are gaining health when hit. It isn’t much but what he said is true.

Still don’t expect to outrun warrior who has like 3000 leaps.

Warriors are the most mobile class in the game. If you can make a spec that can outrun a warrior on anything but a thief you have done an amazing job. Doesn’t really matter what you do on a necro. His spec won’t hurt though and it is better than most.

Again, agreeing with Lily here. I don’t mean to be offensive here, but I don’t know what tier of WvW you’re in, but in anything decently high the Wurm will probably easily be killed, either intentionally or unintentionally. I don’t play WvW much, but whenever I do and I -try- to use the Wurm, it never works the way I want it to. Here’s the problem. It’s a 1200 range teleport. So, in a zerg vs zerg situation, this is kind of useless, because being 1200 yards away from something like that will mean that you’re still in harm’s way, especially since every other class has more mobility than us. If they want you dead, the wurm teleport won’t stop this.

Okay, let’s assume you’re roaming. It’s not even very useful here. You’re tethered by its range if you keep it out. You -have- to stay within 1200 range of it or else your escape is gone. My biggest problem with it is that it’s a teleport tethered to a mob that you have to be in 1200 range of—that also has to stay alive for when you want to make use of it that also has an underwhelming cooldown. I saw your videos, and the people you fought against were honestly a joke. Note—I’m not saying the Wurm is completely bad, but it’s pretty bad and it won’t work often. Maybe once in a while, but no often.

Also…Spectral Walk does not make you tankier. Spectral Armor does. I don’t know if you run both of these at the same time, if you do, I suppose using both and using Death Shroud would make you pretty tanky, yes. But that’s 2/3 of your utility being used on lackluster skills. Vouch for either all you want, but I’d rather not use things with effects like that that have 1 minute cooldowns. You have skills like Blood is Power, -any- of the Wells, Epidemic, some signets, Spectral Wall if you’re into that kind of thing, and others I’m probably forgetting. Would you really pick Spectral Walk/Armor over these? And furthermore, would you really pick -Flesh Wurm- over these? I certainly wouldn’t, just for the sake of being able to say I have some mobility. I use that term loosely when concerning those skills.

The problem with posting a video for something like this is that it’s one event. Just because in one particular fight, in your particular tier, you cannot say that all players don’t target the wurm, or that spectral walk is the best thing ever and both are on par with Blink.

I’ll end with this. Even if you think these skills are fine for mobility, I’ll bring up something I said earlier in this post. Do you think they’re worth picking over the other skills we have at our disposal? You sacrifice a lot by choosing one of those skills, and I can’t imagine what would make any of them worth it. In any scenario, all I see is you losing damage. Damage that already has to be sacrificed for a reasonable degree of tankiness with your gear in a situation like WvW or even PvP so you don’t get completely trampled.

I’ll try to answer all your thoughts as he said he is done. First off he is in bronze league and like many of the better bronze league players a roamer. That means he is not sitting in zergs where using the wurm is actually a very effective tactic. Sure, in a zerg fight that wurm dies every time. If we are in one of the other areas of wvw you can set that wurm somewhere in the distance and fight it out without the wurm even being bothered.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the wurm still teleports you in its direction even if you are more than 1200 range. I’m not positive as I hardly ever use it but I think that is the case.

Spectral walk does make you a bit tankier if you pop deathshroud. 2% life force gain per hit while you have swiftness and your enemy is most likely chilled/crippled means they are not landing many hits and those that do hit might be healing you. If you are focusing into spectrals as a roaming spec you usually want to be running with spectral mastery, so 48s cd. This is especially true if you are using walk and wall. Wells are useless as a roamer and those other skills don’t help a ton in 1v1. If you are good enough your condis should work just fine against someone with the added survivability those other utilities give you. Yes you could be using signet of spite for added damage which will add a bit of damage, or I can run away for a bit and hit them from range while I have swiftness for 30 seconds and they are chilled 70% of the fight.

You are both right depending on the situation. You only need a bit of context to figure out in which way you are right.

Yeah, spectral walk doesn’t allow you to tank anything better – that’s spectral armour.

I’ve been testing it (Spectral Armour) in WvW and it works quite well with deathshroud – pop spectral armour, then deathshroud and it’s quite surprising how tanky you can be – albeit for 7 seconds.

Spectral walk does allow you to tank better if you pop into deathshroud. 2% LF gain each hit while in deathroud means that you are probably running faster than the enemies(you have swiftness and they are probably crippled/chilled) and you are gaining health when hit. It isn’t much but what he said is true.

Don’t stomp the other person and it is fine. Let your teammate decide if it was a duel. If they want to duel that badly they can wait for the other person to get back up. Don’t ever let someone make you feel like kitten because they were dueling. Its wvw, they will get used to it eventually.

That being said if it is at a common dueling spot like the windmill you better not jump in. If you do so you are an kitten(unless you didn’t know about the windmill).

You should really sweep cliffside. Why is it, anytime we get a legit mesmer hidden (OR we ninja a keep) we get called for BS and that we cheated. In your pictures i saw no mesmer at the gate, i saw one IoM tag and you didnt even show the entire zerg. Stop blaming bugs in the game for your mistakes…

But you’re right, there is only 1 IoM tag on the screenshots, and its a “beast” (so it cannot be a mesmer).

Well it was an Iom group you just couldn’t really see them. I talked to a few right after it happened saying there was a mes portal inside. I didn’t take the picture of the mesmer that glitched in because I was setting up siege to defend the tower and I didn’t want the 20 people who followed the port to stomp my face. Good call though…

I can guarantee you, IoM talked it out a bit ago and we don’t do the mesmer gate glitch anymore. If we did, it’s possible it’s someone who wasn’t aware of that and for that, we apologize. Can’t speak for the rest of ET though, unfortunately.
