I agree, it’s one of those mechanics that should be in any game really. I don’t understand why it hasn’t been done for GW2 when it was done for GW1, and surely with better technology nowadays it would be possible. Sure it might take a while, but I’d rather have them work on dyeable weapons over a ton of living stories any day.

There would be limitations, for example with the Super Adventure Box skins, they would remain the same as they are now. And legendary greatswords would only have dyeable hilts etc.

There’s still plenty Anet could add to the gemstore to enhance players’ customisation experience, with things like exotic/legendary dyes (or they could add recipes to unlock the dyes via a living story or even holiday event items). The possibilities are endless really.

In a living story that relates to the Dragons for example, you could unlock the recipe for a Deep Corrupted Ice Dye which applies a pulsating ‘corrupted ice shard’ look to armor. Pic below of what the corrupted ice looks like :-P

Now THIS is a dye I’d want! #andwouldmatchtheColdsnapscepter

@OP: The artwork is gorgeous, but I would rather ANet work on new legendary skins for all weapon types than spend even one more minute messing with the existing greatswords, which are arguably

Off topic:

give me the stormbow or the voltaic spear back o_O

The voltaic spear is already in the game, it’s just an underwater weapon, so many people don’t even realize it’s there. It isn’t quite as flashy as it was in GW, but it’s pretty close.

It’s a named exotic: Al’ir’aska

Getting an updated storm bow would be really cool. I could see them making that the next longbow legendary, with effects similar to Bolt.

While the voltaic spear may be in GW2 under the name Al’ir’aska, it certainly isn’t identical. The blue pulsating animation isn’t there, and it has a few ugly red bits on the handle – unlike the perfect, flawless voltaic spear from GW1.

The voltaic spear would have to be one of my favourite skins of all time but the fact we can’t dye it makes it ‘meh’ to me. I still have one on the off chance we can dye them one day though (I still have my fingers crossed… ever since day 1 of GW2 coming out).

Zaoda.1653

I still don’t really understand the horizontal/vertical progression thing, so please forgive me if what I suggest isn’t what’s being discussed.

Legendaries

I think Legendaries are great, as they require a lot of ingredients and time/effort. Even after a year I still haven’t got one ha ha. However I do feel that for many players, legendaries aren’t a possibility or even a dream, whatsoever.

For example, if I wanted a specific legendary, I may have all the ingredients for it (or could work on obtaining many of those ingredients), but then I hit a stumbling block – I come across a gift that requires 500 Arah dungeon tokens or some other form of dungeon token.

Now I’m not a fan of dungeons, and no one is ever going to force me to do them, therefore I have no other choice but to miss out on working towards that legendary (unless I just save up uber amounts of money to just buy it – but I’d rather work for it). I am, however, a fan of WvW, and badges of honor I can do (even if it requires more badges than dungeon tokens). I think the motto of ‘play how you want’ isn’t actually a reality here because I can’t play how I want if my only option is to buy the legendary, rather than working for it through obtaining the ingredients.

The time/effort into getting legendaries is fine – no need to change that, what I do propose however, is more alternative ways of obtaining said ingredients (like dungeon tokens) for the legendary we want to craft. Just like how you guys added an alternative method of using bloodstone dust as a replacement for the vial of condensed mists essence from fractals for backpieces (I myself hate fractals, so I was over the moon when I could use a different item to replace that vial of mists stuff).

Flamekissed armor

I love the look of the current flamekissed armor. We all know when it was decided that it was going to be changed however, there was a massive uproar. Many are saddened by the fact that this could potentially disappear completely when the redesign comes out. Rather than wasting an amazing skin, why not add the current flamekissed skin to the human cultural tier 3 vendor as an upgrade for a decent amount of gold? This idea has been proposed a couple times now and I feel it is a brilliant idea at that! It is a win-win situation because it stays cultural, the option is there to buy it for your human characters, and an amazing skin isn’t lost into the abyss forever.

Customisation ideas

As a player of both Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2, being able to colour my weapons and armor (aesthetics) is extremely important for me because I want to stand out from the rest, but I cannot be different when weapons can’t be dyed. It was possible in GW1, surely it is possible in GW2? I believe this is vital for customisation and uniqueness. Therefore, I propose…

Dyeable weapons (I’ve included some recoloured weapon concepts I whipped up in photoshop)

Now, since ascended armor came out, my guess is that legendary armor either won’t came out at all, or it will be a very long time before that happens. One of the things that keeps me playing Guild Wars 2 is my fascination with aesthetics likes particle effects, animations, and glowy bits of all things. If there were an option to recolour the flames on my flamekissed armor or apply a sparkly night-sky effect to my robes, I would literally squeal with excitement on the inside. I believe this has been mentioned before too, but I truly think it would be an amazing update if implemented, so therefore I also propose…

—> Exotic/Legendary dyes which have particle effects/animations/glow

A skin locker has been proposed many times also, and I too believe this is necessary, because players go to a lot of effort in obtaining them.

A frustration I have too, is that, for example, if one were to use the ‘fused gauntlets’ skin on, say, light armored gloves, but then wanted to give it to one of their characters that uses heavy armor, they can’t. Would it be possible to give players an option to get the skin back so they could apply it to a different weighted class?

I think, overall, if there were some way of upgrading our armor to have special effects/glowy bits/animations and whatnot, it would greatly increase players’ efforts and time into getting said effects. You could add GW1 skins into the options as upgrades as well, for example. I know I would definitely work towards obtaining those effects for my characters.

WvW

I love WvW, however one thing that I feel lets me down is the fact that when I’m dead/wiped, I cannot pick up my loot (screenshot included). This mechanic makes me feel as though all my efforts have gone to waste. I think it would save players a lot of hassle if there were some sort of interface that pops up with ‘unclaimed loot’ for when you’re unable to collect that loot.

Dyeable Weapons

Zaoda.1653

We were able to dye weapons in Guild Wars 1, I really don’t understand why we can’t in Guild Wars 2? Dyeable weapons, in my opinion, is essential for players’ customisation and feeling truly unique. We should stand out among everyone else, so…

I did some photoshopping to some items in some screenshots I took to see the potential of how epic this could be if implemented. Below you’ll find an abyss dyed Kasmeer’s Staff, some recolours of the Urchin’s Needle harpoon gun (I particularly love the ghostly-guardian-blue colour), and black, and cyanide dyed Memory of the Sky staves

What do you guys think?

Obviously some unique weapons would only have certain parts dyeable, so that its appeal isn’t destroyed. For legendary greatswords for example, only the hilt would be dyeable (and perhaps auras, if any?)

I wish Anet would at least give us an ETA on the redesign or a sneak preview or something.

We know nothing’s going to be done between now and the 21st of January either way, and with other living stories and content they’ll be busy coming up with, I somehow feel the redesign isn’t going to happen for a loooooong time. And whilst I love my flamekissed armor on my male elementalist, I’m the sort of person that hates not knowing about when things are happening – like when my parents tell me on THE day guests arrive or like 10 minutes before. Same applies here, I hate not knowing.

I think the current design should remain as an upgrade for cultural tier 3 human armor for like 60g, so people can keep the old look.

Hi guys, my necromancer is nearly level 80 and I LOVE how powerful the necro is underwater with the trident #1 skill. I don’t know whether it’s the base damage or the condition damage that deals the most, but whatever it is, it takes down enemies so fast.

I was wondering what the best setup (for PvE or WvW, I don’t mind which one) would be for an underwater necro? I think it may be some sort of condition damage/power combination but not completely sure? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Oh and even with my warrior at level 6 in WvW, his #2 greatsword skill does thousands of damage per second, and that’s not even being a true level 80, or with exotics/ascended, OR any WvW infusions. Can’t wait till he’s even more overpowered :-P

I’d be ok with new underwater traits, though it would be quite difficult to manage, going in and out of water.

First I’d probably want the damage you can do underwater fixed. For example, right now, my elementalist who is a full zerker can only do 350 or so damage with fireballs underwater at level 80. It is so pathetic and laughable, you might as well be tickling enemies. Even my necro who isn’t a full zerker, does more damage than him (through the condition damage) and he isn’t even level 80 yet or kitted out with exotics/ascended. It doesn’t make any sense.

Regardless of how you feel about rainbow-themed weapons, it really doesn’t affect you as no one is forcing you to get them.

I do agree in the sense that there should be other versions though. I would find it frustrating if, for example, I weren’t a fan of rainbows, and my only option for a legendary staff was the Bifrost (which IS the only option for a legendary staff, currently). So I can see your point from that perspective, but no need to hate on the rainbows/pink stuff ;-)

Also, it was leaked a couple weeks back on the possibility of some new legendary staff with a Raven theme. Video below.

[Suggestions] Gemstore Items

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Zaoda.1653

Things in the gem store I’d like to see:

—> GW1 weapon and armor skins

—> An item that refunds your WvW ability points so you can redistribute them however you see fit. It would have to cost a fair bit so people wouldn’t do it all the time, so 200-500 gems (16g minimum) would be pretty fair I reckon.

—> The option to buy separate pieces of armor in the gem store for a slighter higher price. So instead of buying the full trickster outfit for 800 gems (6 items x 133.3 gems) for example, if I only wanted the boots I could buy the boots for 150 or 180 gems – slightly more costly, but better than no purchase at all, right?

Edit: If I could only have one thing for Xmas from Anet though, it would be dyeable weapons, I know it’s completely unrelated to the gem store, but I just HAD to mention it because it’s something that should be implemented :-P

A new Legendary Greatsword ‘Spectrum’ is a concept I came up with (well, the title of it anyway, not the rainbow greatsword – many would have thought of that before me, ha ha :-P).

Could require:

Infinite Light
Gift of Colour
Gift of Mastery
Gift of Fortune

I thought really hard about those items required, and it makes sense – infinite light is an expensive exotic (in the 600 gold + region), gift of colour (well, the greatsword would make rainbows when spun etc. so this is extremely appropriate), and the other 2 gifts are required in legendaries anyways so… there we have it, the potential recipe for Spectrum.

And here’s the icon and concept for it:

I do hope that a vendor in WvW will ultimately one day provide us with the option of buying ascended weapon & armor chests for badges of honor (And a bit of gold perhaps as a money sink – something like 10 gold?). Because it’s all very well increasing the odds, but if your luck is like mine (going 444 WvW ranks without a single ascended chest), kitten luck x kitten luck is still kitteny luck.

We need more guaranteed ways of obtaining ascended, like others have suggested, using different currencies for ascended chest rewards, I.E. badges of honor, fractal relics/pristine fractal relics, karma, dungeon tokens, etc. etc.

Some other interesting ways we could midigate the pressure on alts is just make all ascended gear account bound it would remove some demand but it’s something we’ve discussed before.

Let me hope that a Badges of Honor -> Ascended Gear chest vendor one day appears.

+1 to both of those ideas. Also the stat changing ability on ascended gear would be really awesome to have, as it would give players a massive incentive to go for ascended.

Edit: And furthermore, giving ascended the stat-changing ability would free up a lot of bank space. Currently I have fifteen slots that take up valuable space in my bank, because I simply cannot put all my different stat armor onto any mules to make some room (because the armor is soulbound), making ascended gear not only account bound, but with the stat changing ability, would solve all of this.

I would really like to see ascended weapons and armor with the stat changing ability (or at least allow us to unlock each stat set so we can swap to those stats) because it creates build diversity (need to change stats quick when out of combat? no problem) and you don’t have to go out and buy umpteen different weapons and armor – THAT to me, is what ascended should be.

Edit: and for legendary armor in the future, all I expect from that is the same stats as ascended, the stat-changing ability, but most of all, each piece would have amazing particle effects/animations – because that’s what you’re really buying it for.

I don’t know about others, but I’d love to save up for a rainbow paintbrush-like legendary greatsword like the Spectrum. What do you guys think? I’m still unsure about the colour of the hilt, but I think black or gold would be appropriate so I’ve included both concepts.

Is it fair to say that regarding Ascended Gear we would like to see more ways to earn it and in terms of drop rates, a higher percentage chance of acquiring them through this method?

Chris

Definitely. More ways to obtain ascended weapons and armor other than crafting. I myself am into WvW, and I think it would be great to see ascended chests (that way you get to choose what stat you want) for sale from a WvW vendor for something like 2,000 badges of honor (so there’s time/effort) and 10 gold (money sink). That way it is balanced. I’m not sure how many dungeon tokens would be appropriate or how many fractal/pristine fractal relics etc. would be required for an ascended chest, as I personally don’t do those, so I can’t comment there.

I think it would be great to see a higher chance of obtaining an ascended chest with the higher WvW rank you are too. In 443+ ranks, my elementalist has not received one ascended chest. And the one and only ascended ring I ever received from a WvW rank up chest had horrible stats (I got the ‘lucce seal’) and has been sitting in my bank ever since – it would be awesome to be able to choose which ascended ring you get in the future, should you get one from a rank up chest.

Anyone here have a huge complaint against the idea of being able to buy Ascended Weapon/Armor Chests with some of our account-bound currencies?

Maybe~

Guild Commendations – 150 commendations, any stats
Badges of Honor – 800 badges, any stats
Dungeon Tokens – 1,000 w/ stat combinations matching the each dungeons’ existing flavors
Fractal Relics – 1,500 w/ stat combinations matching the current capacitors

((all quantities subject to change and offered only to inspire thought))

Nike,

This is a great suggestion! But what do you think would be an appropriate number of dungeon tokens (we’ll use that as an example) to buy Ascended armor? Right now it costs 1380 tokens to buy a dungeon armor set. Should you be able to buy Ascended armor with tokens from just one dungeon or should it require tokens from all dungeons to purchase Ascended armor? i.e. 690 token from each dungeon (5520 total), or something. This would be a great step away from the “need gold to buy anything” mentality.

EDIT: Another thought, they could add new Ascended armor skins for each way you could unlock it. This would add prestige to Ascended armor not just because you have it, but because of the way you unlocked it (i.e. you excel at dungeons, WvW, farming gold, etc.)

~Finn

As long as you are able to buy the piece without requiring each of the currencies…
For example, if I could buy a piece of ascended with 800 honor badges, or 1000 dungeon tokens or 150 commendations..not 800 and 1000 and 150.

I don’t do guild missions, so, for example this would still exclude someone like me. Or, some people don’t run dungeons, or some people do not play WvW…

To add onto this, I think it would be an awesome opportunity (should Anet allow us to obtain ascended weapons and armor via other currencies/methods) to add GW1 weapon and armor skins that have been requested so often.

Imagine purchasing an ascended chest for example, choosing a shield, and then deciding to upgrade its looks by purchasing, say, a ‘tormented’ skin for 800 WvW badges or something, and thus turning it into an EPIC looking ascended shield? :-P see attachment below :-P

Sorry but my opinion on this addition of tormented skins back in the game isn’t right. For those of us who played gw1 and spent tons of time earning those skins and putting them in our hall of monuments this wouldn’t be fair. I agree many skins in gw1 could be used instead such as the voltaic spear, obsidian edge, eternal blade (although i spent tons of time geting this as well and i still have it), dhuum’s scythe, and the list goes on forever. So yes i agree this is a good opportunity to add gw1 skins and lore back into the game i want to make a point that how you implement these you must be careful since you will offend alot of us who spent insane amounts of time earning them there and shouldn’t have to spend more time in gw2 to get the same skin.

I agree, the way they’re put back in should be done carefully as to not completely cheapen the skins (like putting them in the black lion chest would be a really sad way to reintroduce tormented weapons in my opinion), but it’s also important to note that Anet also can’t please everyone – and when GW2 was announced, it was pretty much common sense for everyone to know that a lot of what you earned in GW1 would not be transferred (or compensated) over to GW2.

Being a GW1 player myself, I had some destroyer weapons and mini’s mounted in my hall of monuments, and I put a lot of time and effort into what I earned in GW1 – full obsidian armor for my ritualist, Spirit Ouverture, for example. Even if they were easily obtained in GW2 though, I don’t think I would be too worried because 1) GW1 is in the past (including all the time and effort I put into that game and my characters), and 2) regardless of IF and HOW they come into GW2, that would be celebration enough I say the more skins, the merrier.

I still don’t understand this horizontal/vertical progression talk (I learn differently, ok?) – sounds like lingo that belongs to a rollercoaster ride or something, so instead, I’ll just say what I feel needs changing.

Ascended Weapons & Armor chests. Ok, so I have 500 tailor and 500 artificer. I only have 2 ascended weapons in total because getting to 500 artificer cost me over 200g, and a further 80g minimum to make the ascended weapons (atleast 40g each). It’s just getting ridiculous in the costs these days, in fact I was aiming on going for 500 armorsmith, but I realized, why bother? It’s a huge money sink on my end, and with limitations on what you can craft per day, with very little benefit, from now on I’m just going to wait for some chest drops and stick to my exotics.

Which leads me to my next point… Why are these ascended weapon and armor chests sooooooo hard to obtain? My elementalist has gone 441 WvW ranks without a single ascended weapon chest. Am I doing something wrong? Am I just extremely unlucky? In my opinion, if you’re like me and have gone that many ranks without an ascended chest, something is clearly wrong, and that ‘something’ needs to change.

What I propose is offering ascended weapon and armor chests for a hefty amount of badges of honor. Enough to make it so that it isn’t easily obtained, but hard enough to not warrant going for it via badges than crafting. I would say 2k badges would be pretty fair (and perhaps at least 1 crafting skill to 500, if there should be any extra requirements?). I’d also like to propose the idea of increasing your chances of getting ascended chests the higher your WvW rank – apparently the wiki says this is how it is right now, but obviously it isn’t because I’ve gone 441+ ranks without one, so I’m calling bull-kitten on that :-)

My next point brings me to Dragonite Ore in WvW. I WvW a lot, and by the time ascended armor came out, I had enough bloodstone dust to make over 58 bricks and enough empyreal fragments to make over 38 empyreal stars, but guess how many ascended banana bars I could make? (Dragonite ingots) 3. Yes you heard right, only three. That’s how hard it is to obtain dragonite ore in WvW. There needs to be some sort of way to obtain more of it, or at least give us the ability to exchange a large amount of bloodstone dust/empyreal fragments for dragonite ore. Perhaps 1k bloodstone dust or 1k empyreal fragments in the mystic forge for a stack of 250 dragonite ore? That sounds fair to me.

My final point brings me back to ascended weapons and armor. I believe, the amount of effort and gold put into those things, that they should have the stat-changing ability.

TL;DR version

—> Give ascended armor & weapons the stat changing ability
—> Offer ascended armor & weapon chests for 2k WvW badges each
—> Allow WvW players to obtain dragonite ore more easily, perhaps offering a method to exchange vast amounts of bloodstone dust and/or empyreal fragments for it
—> Increase the odds of obtaining ascended weapon & armor chests with higher WvW ranks

I wouldn’t mind a 2k-3k badge of honor requirement for 1 ascended weapon/armor chest reward.

Either way, I used to consider going for 500 armorsmith to get ascended armor for my guardian, but at the rate it’s costing, I’m no longer willing to invest in it. I’m simply going to wait to get them from a chest, because it requires absurd amounts of gold.

Regarding Account bound Weapons/Dye/Amour

in Suggestions

Zaoda.1653

I disagree on dyes, Having bought a number of very rare dyes for 20-50g each I will not be re-buying them for my other characters. Dyes that are on TP for less than 1g won’t effect the market place as many of these dyes are given away or destroyed rather than listed on TP.

Making dyes soulbound is a bonkers decision, it’s a purely cosmetic item and doesn’t effect game balance. The devs should just do it already and give us a real Christmas present.

I agree. It’s hard enough getting the rare dyes. In fact just the other week I looked into how many Abyss, Celestial, and some of the Flame and Frost dyes in particular there were, and all of the ones I looked up, had up to a quantity of only 80 dyes left (each).

Now I don’t know how many players there are in GW2, but one would assume that 80 dyes isn’t enough for hundreds of thousands of players. And with GW2 China being released in the future, that will only decrease the quantities even further (most likely to single digits). What Anet needs to do is make them account bound, so less dyes are needed, and they should increase the quanities of them to allow for the hundreds of thousands of players, as well as the increase in players from the China release – whenever that’s coming.

And if there are too many of a particular dye, Anet could simply come up with a recipe that requires X amount of that dye – problem solved.

If YOU could change 7 things about GW2

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

1) Dyeable Weapons
2) Give Ascended gear and weapons the stat-switch ability
3) Account bound Legendaries
4) Allow players to pick up surrounding loot bags and loot when dead
5) Reintroduce many GW1 skins to the game
6) Have a skin locker with skins that are permanently unlocked for your characters
7) Allow us to buy individual armor pieces in the gem store for a slightly higher price. For example, if a full set of armor from the gem store cost 800 gems (6 skins as a set x 133.3 gems), make it so that you could also buy pieces separately, for a slightly higher price, like 150 or even 180 gems for 1 piece. That way people spend gems on only items they want, rather than refusing to spend any gems at all because they don’t want to fork out 800 for a whole set.

Those would be my main 7. Others I would add:

—> Allow WvW armor and weapons to be salvaged – mainly so that you can get your runes and sigils back should you want to put them on another character (they cost a ton of badges as well as gold after all, I mean c’mon, that isn’t overpowered, and from what I heard, dungeon armor can be salvaged, so why not WvW stuff?)

—> Give engineers the ability to hide and change the skin of the backpiece of weapon kits, and perhaps also allow engineers to change the skin of the weapon. It’s all very well having a nice outfit, but it’s ruined when you get this big ugly brown sack on your back when wielding the flamethrower, for example. And it would be cool to apply whatever weapon you’re wielding, to the weapon kit that you’re using – so the flamethrower weapon kit skin could be changed to that of another rifle skin or something.

—> Race change gem store item for 1200-1800 gems. Players would receive a warning that their personal story would be reset in order to make this change, and any cultural armor they have would become account bound (still race-bound too) after using this item (to allow yourself to transfer those cultural armors to another character of the original race you just had changed).

—> Allow players who have already unlocked world completion, to apply it to other characters of theirs. When this is applied, you will obviously not receive any world completion rewards for that character it is applied to, as it would become 100% automatically. This is simply for the convenience of having everything unlocked and would be great for alts who need to get around the world, without the hassle of going through umpteen million areas and tasks again.

—> Put ascended weapon and armor boxes as rewards for WvW badges. Each chest would require at least 1 crafting skill to be level 500, and would cost 2-3k badges (so it would take quite long, but wouldn’t be overpowered) – Anet could decide on how many badges would be appropriate.

Hmmmm I’m liking the WvW in Blackgate thus far, though can’t say the same for PvE (the amount of people is epic though, great for completing the living stories). I was in Kessex Hills killing a champ with a zerg and couldn’t figure out why I was getting damaged with the corrupted/toxic spore icon when there was no obvious thing attacking me, so I asked why others weren’t getting damaged (as they were literally in the same spot as me) and this Roger Malone guy said “you’re standing in spore blankity blank blank”. Worse thing was another player ditched in and insulted me. I never got that (at least only rarely) in Piken Square. I hope the whole server isn’t like that when just asking a simple question – I feel I can’t ask people anything now in Blackgate :-/

how people feel about particular wvw servers is often very subjective, so you may need to try multiple servers to see how you like them. but this can end up costing you a lot of gems.

the most economical option here may be to buy another copy of GW2, and try making a new character on the #1 ranked server to see how you like it. if it turns out that the queues are too long, delete your character, switch to the next server down the list, then make a new character there. keep doing this until you find a server that has a balance of population / queue times you like. remember, you only have to pay gems to move existing characters. if you have no characters on an account then transfers are free and you can sample as many servers as you like.

once you’ve found a server you like, then you can commit to transferring your regular characters on your main account using gems.

Sorry for the late reply guys, I had some guests over. This is actually quite a good idea, especially considering the game is being discounted all the time it seems, though to be honest I don’t think I can be bothered going out and buying another copy :-/ brilliant suggestion though, thanks!

Edit: I’ve decided to go with Blackgate – I was tossing up between Blackgate and Tarnished Coast looking at you guys’ recommendations and the criteria. After looking at all the videos and taking in everyone’s feedback, and looking at the leaderboards I noticed that Blackgate was the most consistent, and that is an important factor for me too that I didn’t think about, and it has all the criteria I need in both PvE and WvW and time zone issues as well.

I want to thank you guys for taking time out to recommend which server would be best for me <3

Oh and in regards to this recommendation…

Sounds like blackgate would be a good choice. You might want to rethink about being a zerk ele though lol

I’ll definitely take your advice there, especially seeing how big those zergs are, ha ha. I think would get rolled over in a second!

Decision on a world transfer :-/

in WvW

Zaoda.1653

Hi guys, I’m posting this thread as I need some help in making a decision in a world transfer. I originally came from Piken Square as many of my guildies were there, but since the guild I was in recently decided to close, I chose to move to Gunnars Hold to be with some friends in WvW, but it wasn’t what I expected.

There were a lot less people on (despite being the same medium-sized populated server as PS) and we were losing a lot. I’m a WvW fanatic and I live for it, but I decided to give it a couple more weeks giving it the benefit of the doubt, but I haven’t seen much change and I simply can’t stay when the place is as dead as a desert most times I enter, therefore I’m seriously thinking of changing servers.

I really like Piken Square, in fact I LOVE it, as we had good tactics, strong defense, and a decent server size, although I noticed it has become a lot more populated and I still have the same problem now in Gunnars Hold as I did in Piken Square, in terms of going there and it being quite dead at times (most likely due to time zones I would imagine).

I was wondering about hopping over to an American server as I assume there’ll be more people in WvW ALL the time, and ALL throughout the day no matter what the time zone (I’m from New Zealand so usually when I’m awake, others aren’t, and vice versa) but I may need some help in deciding which server would be best for me. This is the criteria I believe I need to have the most fun and to be the most efficient, as I WvW a lot.

1) It has to be an American server
2) I want a server that wins in WvW frequently (so tier 1 or tier 2 only)
3) I need the server to have a lot of players both in PvE and WvW (for living story events in particular, and WvW of course)
4) It has to have teams in WvW pretty much 24/7, so it’s in line with my timezone no matter when I’m online

I’m thinking Blackgate, but I don’t know if they have teams on 24/7 in WvW, so was just wondering… also any videos of recent WvW footage might be helpful too :-D I’m also a berserker elementalist with rank 443 (will be higher too when the account bound ranks come), so I can bring a fair amount of WvW abilities to the table/team :-D

And last but not least, I was wondering whether I should transfer now or later, as moving to a highly populated American server would cost me 1800 gems (pretty costly if you ask me), and from memory there was once a time when we were given a free transfer, or a cheaper transfer to a medium server or something? I can’t remember the specifics, so was wondering if I should wait till another opportunity like that arises, or whether I should just move on and pay up now.

Many thanks in advance guys

Spectrum would adopt the paintbrush-like effects that the other legendary greatswords such as eternity and twilight have for example, but this particular greatsword would produce rainbows with every swing.

Imagine how epic it would be to create a complete circle of rainbow colours with Guardian skill #2!

The name ‘Spectrum’ would be ideal I think because the rainbow really is a spectrum of colours. What do you guys think?
