For the current living story, I know that my progress is not saved if I join a friend, so I guess that means I will have to do it alone only with each of my characters.

My question is, if I can still get achievements if I join a friend? I joined their personal story and was hoping to work together for some of the achievements.

Been playing wow for 7 years, and just purchased gw2 deluxe. Im so excited to start playing. Wow community just isnt there no more, majority are rude, selfish ill mannered player base . Glad I decided to swap up.

Welcome to Guild Wars 2, Jonnyrok. I think you will really love the game, and I agree, the community is exceptional. Sure, you’ll come across the occasional nay-sayer, and if on the forums, just hit the little flag in the lower right and we’ll take a look at the post. If in the game, click the player (to select him/her) then right-click the image of the player at the top of your screen and you’ll see the option to use “report.” Choose a reason and a CS Agent will give what happened a review and take whatever action is needed.

Basically, it’s a beautiful game in an amazing world with some pretty darn nice people living there.

Love it! I somehow managed to scrape up enough gold to afford the gems. This has become one of my favorite items, right behind the how to dance book.

You see people with random luck like throwing 4 random rares from World Bosses and getting precursors,the urge to try it too is very tempting

pretty much this happened to my guildmade, he threw 8 exotics into the toilet, got Dawn. He started playing four months ago, he already has three precursors. Dawn from toilet, Spark from world boss chest and Howl from a freaking mob. Screw this game and screw ANet for basing their game on RNG.

I bet if you had his luck, you would not be complaining about rng lol. I bet most of the people who are angry with the mystic forge would totally change their minds about rng if they had gotten something valuable.

I might just have to stick with berserker’s then. The reason why I am asking is because I am unable to get celestial gear anytime soon. I cannot afford to make the armor and I do not have the laurels for the trinkets and I am even further away from ever getting ascended gear.

I am sure someone out there has a decent build out there that is not ascended or celestial in any way. I just need ideas that I can experiment with until I can create something that will work for me.

I guess a better question I should have asked is what stats should I focus on the most? I think an answer to that question would be most helpful to me.

I wanted to ask if there was a good alternative to celestial armor for elementalists. I won’t be able to craft it anyways for like another 20 days or so and it will take me longer to afford the runes that I keep hearing that I should get.

So I ask here, what other choices do I have? I read many threads but they always seem to lead to the same celestial build (sometimes berserker’s).

I am not very skilled but I want to spend time to learn the class and become better for all game modes, but mostly things like dungeons or small scale wvw.

So are there any alternatives?

Here is my elementalist. I normally like to create more tough looking characters, but I thought I might try a more elegant approach for once. I bought Kasmeer’s staff for her too because I think it looks really nice.

I sent in a ticket and got a nice response saying that they will investigate the matter.

You all think that they are able to just flip a switch and ban every player who gets reported the second a report goes in. Umm no. They themselves have to investigate the matter every single time and they obviously get tons of tickets.

Also, i am not sure what you mean by getting banned from the forums. If you are name dropping in the forums then that is a mistake you are making.

So yeah, keep saying things like they don’t care and it is a waste of time to report hackers. I am sure that will get you a faster response.

I tend to spend money on cosmetics all the time because its just what I like to do. Other than that, I just mess around with my guild, doing whatever sounds fun at the time, from dancing to creating a band and playing to our fans in rata sum.

Gold to gems. As long as this is a thing, you have no argument.

Whenever new volumes come out, I will be putting everything else in the game on hold until I buy them. The dance book has always been my favorite item in the game.

I loved the current dances but I need more!

I have to admit that I am kinda sad about the item. I thought it would play creepy music (kinda does but not what I hoped for) or at least have some more interesting sounds.

It is a cool item but I don’t feel that it is worth 600 gems.

Luckily I looked it up before making a decision on whether to buy it or not :P

If Tengu could fly that would be cool, but I’m thinking it would unbalance the jumping puzzles just a slight bit, LOL!

I heard an annoyed Tengu merchant say to a Sylvari “Yes my ancestors could fly, no I cannot”.

Anyone know if there will be any content restricted to 80s? I have a few of them but I really wanted to participate in most of the events with one of my lower levels so I could continue to gain exp as I play.

Decided to buy the witch and mad king outfit among a million other things to add to the fun of the upcoming Halloween events. Can’t wait to take my guild and go have tons of fun like I always do every year.

Maybe I will even be able to complete that darn jumping puzzle this year if it come back!

It is like the game thinks that every step is you hitting the ground for the first time.

It is actually something that triggers once you fall high enough to take damage. Once that first hit triggers, any slope you are on that is steep enough will continually damage you if you continue to move. It reacts as if you are still falling at the same speed as when you first made contact with the ground, and it will continue until you stop, or the time gap between each impact is too large to register.

Must be a clumsy group of heroes then if a small slope like that is a constant threat.

I started making GIFs for GW2 with funny things I have encountered in the game.

I am just wondering why fall damage still acts the way it does? I get the whole tumbling effect they were going for but with the way it works, stairs and tiny slopes can be the most terrifying things in Tyria. Anyone else think so?

Well things will never be fair to where players will not get kicked undeservedly. Which is why party owners should be able to have some sort of leverage.

OK, I’ll rephrase the questions. If one person deserves immunity to kicking, why doesn’t everyone deserve the same immunity? What it sounds like is that people want to kick but they don’t want to be kicked.

What? I don’t see the logic in that question. The problem I think some people have is that when they host a group, there is nothing stopping the players who join from completely ignoring the wishes of the dungeon leader and of course, they can kick the leader if they want without any consequence.

Unless you have a friend with you, players can easily troll your group or take complete control. At least when we did have a little power, you could threaten to end the dungeon if players kept trolling your group or not following the lfg. Now, you have to hope the players who join you are nice and respect the lfg (if you don’t have a friend or guild with you.

Yeah that is an obvious one. I can’t complain though since I just farm dungeons for a few hours to buy my charges.

I decided to do one of the paths of my personal story that I never chose before. I ended up using the most fun and hectic golem to fight hundreds of risen.

Lasers, lighting, and tons of punching. That was a ton of fun and I would love to be able to get my hands of that type of fighting (or at least that golem) again haha.

So I just noticed that when I go underwater, one of my runes does not activate and it concerns me considering I lose stats.

Does anyone has any insight on why this would happen?

Is it because my headgear switches to the aquatic one which has no rune? Because if so, then that is no bueno.

Female of Asura have nothing to show so that is not an issue. Regardless of what female Charr have, their fur covers it anyways so once again, not an issue.

Yeah it all depends on the location. Here is one of my old pictures in a dark area lol.

Only downside is that the game won’t play the music randomly, so eventually you will keep hearing the first 2 or 3 songs on each playlist over and over and over again…

I ended up just using my vlc player as i game.

Just delete the music folder that you made and everything will go back to normal.

I will tell you exactly how I used to do it to avoid problems. (it is a lil extra work but it works)

1. Go to the GW2 folder as described and make a new Music folder.
2. Create new folders inside the Music folder. Each sub-folder will be labeled as one of the types of music. (Ambient, BossBattle, etc)
3. Copy the songs you want for each sub-folder and place them in their sub-folder.
4. Use VLC player and open the groups of music in each folder (one at a time) and save them as a playlist.
5. Name each playlist as you normally would (Ambient, BossBattle, etc) and place them inside the Music folder (NOT inside any of the sub-folders)
6. You are done.

BTW: This method takes longer but is just a safe way of doing it so you won’t have problems. Also, The sub-folders are so you can have an untouched copy of the songs you want for the game.

The game will always look in the same spot for the songs in the playlists, so if you move them then it won’t work. That is why I make sub-folders with copies of the music I want to use so that I can move my originals around or delete them or whatever without messing up the ingame music.

I am bad at explaining things but I hope this helps lol
