No no no, the golem busting builds is a real thing. Call in your condi necros and equip those epidemics. Most pugs are too stupid to realise they need to exit the golem if they want it to stop bleeding out and the epidemics making all their friends die.

Question – we know that healing does not work on golems. Does condition removal work on golems? What about condition conversion (to boons)? If not, then I think this could be very useful…
Also, when a player with condis exits a golem, do the condis disappear completely, or stay on the player?

Does condi clearing work on golems is a question ive had for a long time actually, either again players are too stupid to ask for it or no. And when the driver exits, the condis disappear so if you get loaded while driving you need to exit and fight the necro with your player skills otherwise il just use you as an epidemic bot.

You know.. if you think about this it’s brilliant.

With a single weekend event anet destroys the supply of omega and alpha golems on the tradepost and makes them valuable again. If players burn all their golems in one weekend they wont be able to golem rush as effectively as before.

Yeah thats what i was thinking, jokes aside its a somewhat clever solution in the long run

Omega golems have no place in wvw

The only thing golems are useful is to help blobby servers steamrolling structures and make a perma karma train. Making the diferences between servers with diferent population even bigger and making any defence tactics useless because all the siege you have in the keep becomes useless. Only middle stairs arrocarts and inner trebs to drain the gates remain useful until they breach the gate.

Sieging structures with money, absolutely killing the smaller servers during difficult matchups because nobody is able to hold anything if a permablob of 50 players and 5 omega golems are just running in circles.

Blobbadons is just disgusting.

Basically they did the stacking intensity change to buff the condi reaper build (the frostbite trait or whatever its called) but that indirectly nerfs other reaper builds twice over. Chill stacking intensity means surely the overall chill uptime duration will be reduced. On top of that well of darkness cant be used for reaper builds for this i guess.. they shouldve atleast reduced the cooldown.

After all this time of chilling darkness being in the game.. they add a 5 second internal cooldown so well of darkness is even more worthless just lol

I don’t see what’s the problem with the necro trait last rites? You can still be dps’s and stomped all it prevents is bleeding out. Are you complaining of what happens if the enemy leave them completely alone? In that case all professions can do the same thing bu casting #4

The problem is Last Rites prevents all players near the Necromancer from bleeding out. If you have two downed Necromancers next to each other they will each prevent the other from bleeding out. So as long as one person is nearby to make sure they don’t use 4, those Necromancers can remain downed permanently with no way to stop it.

Ohhh as in to troll/stall the necros in a match ok I see, I thought people were saying it was OP for the necros.

The issue isn’t that they’re picking streamers rather than average players to promote the game. The issue is that they are cheaply trying to promote the game in a stress test where the game is to be stressed in situations experienced players know will cause low performance. But more importantly, they themselves announced the invites would go to only the most experienced and dedicated wvw players.

Does a Skill Work If you Press it Just Once?

This has been happening for a looooooooong time.

Basicly, you push a skill and absolutely nothing happens. You see the actual button “press” as if the skill is about to be activated, but it doesnt do anything, dont go on cooldown and dont trigger. Sometimes you have to press multiple times for it to finally work. It can happen when there is no lag otherwise.

And yes, the Necro actually seems to be particularly afflicted with this, long activation times on pretty much all skills and double clicks (like wells) doesnt exactly help.

Well if the icon is flashing this sounds a lot like skill lag (different from fps lag) it’s a problem on anet’s side not your computer.

Does a Skill Work If you Press it Just Once?

On my necro, I’m finding that I need to press a skill several times rapidly to ensure that it activates. If I press it once, it’s not queued up…this has often been my downfall since before the patch I was used to a “press it and have faith it will work” approach.

Does this happen to you as well?

Edit: Only for skills with cast times.

You need to get used to cast times, if you cast all four marks too quickly for example some may not be queued. It’s been a while since I played necro so I know my explanation is a little crappy but basically if you want to practice it I’d advise using the fast cast aoe option. You’ll notice if you press all four marks immediately after each other one or two may not get queued but if you line up your rhythm so it fits with the after cast you only need to press the button once.

I’ve noticed some players on YouTube spam the mark button until it appears but that’s slower than what you’re capable of. It’s possible to queue multiple marks so that they go down in the fastest time possible.

Necro sustain with the right traits is already unreal no need to buff it. Healing in death shroud is all the sustain they needed – with the right traits and equip a necro can out-sustain 2 players all day long.

Siphons not healing. We still have traits that heal and give us regen that are blocked off by our own profession mechanic. We still automatically reject help from our team mates because of our own profession mechanic. Sigils and runes lifesteal (and food) I believe still do not work in shroud.

I actually love the passive xD its my favourite part, if youve been using it for long enough to get used to watching for random spikes in condis on you so that you don’t kill yourself and as some have said this is great risk and reward along with giving you a lot of ammunition.

My only annoyance is more at team mates in spvp, sometimes youll have a teammate notice his condis are somehow dissappearing so he goes ahead and lets that shortbow ranger shoot him in the back all day so you have to blow the active to stop that ¬¬.

On the subject of teamsupport, it essentially completely nullifies ranger roots. If the timing lines up, the immobilise immediately transfers to you and your allies move out of the position of the roots, and we then can simply use our numerous transfers including the signet itself.

This happens a lot in wvw because of the lag, it also means allies can’t res them if they’re at the wrong location. Basically the place you see his body is actually different to where the player himself sees his body and when ressing the player has to direct his friends to where his body actually is.

Like I said in my other post this is getting pathetic now, the lag and skill lag is finally bleeding into their beloved spvp (this shows the lag is becoming a common occurrence now) and with it their esports dream is slipping away. Will be interesting to see if they bother to do anything about it.

How can I beat mesmers post patch?

Before the June 23rd patch, it wasn’t very difficult to kill most mesmers. While the great ones usually owned me no matter what profession/build I played I felt like my loss was justified because I was outplayed. I know how and when to dodge the mirror blade and gs4 as well as sword 3 and not to walk into chaos storm. I know the cd on torch 4 is 30 seconds and the mesmer gets revealed after 3 seconds of stealth. I know how to distinguish the animation of moa and mass invisibility, and I know mesmers do remove boons including stability as well as use their shatter skills for their burst. I also know that stealth burst are completely fair game since they are predictable. I know how to distinguish real mesmer from its clones.

I am familiar with interrupt/shatter mesmers prepatch of June 23rd. In fact I strongly advocated mesmers to be buffed such as giving condi clear based on number of illusions they have and many other ways. But with their daze mantra which leads to stun if they do trait it feels as if I am punished for not random dodging. If I see a mirror blade, mesmer’s animations, leaping clones, and phantasm berserker, I will dodge most of the times. However with the daze mantra, I am constantly stun locked and then bursted. And there is no way to tell if a memser will cast mantra due to particle effects and stealth.

Now stealth is a fine game, I have no problem with that. But dazing mantra that also stunlocks me into undodgeable state, and F3 on mesmers, seems impossible for almost any class to actually use dodge against memsers. My stunbreakers are usually on 30+ sec cd, and invul skills have even longer cooldown. Also any form of stability is removed instantly as mesmers have options to remove boons in many ways.

Post patch of June 23rd, I have no idea how to dodge stunlock burst other than hoping that my teleports are always on cool down. Stun is suppose to be a powerful tool that should set up bursts like those, and I understand the role, however a class having so much access to stuns that literally prevents people from reacting even the most basic way seems a little out of the line.

Generally the playstyle of a mesmer hasn’t changed.

Pretty much if you had trouble with Lockdown before, your gonna have trouble with lockdown now. It’s basically the same build, same playstyle.
The thing that has changed is now the damage across the board for all classes is now higher.

So if you were built squishy then, you may want to change that now until you get used to fighting a mes.

I will say that evasion spam classes do well vs mantra spammers, they generally don’t know when to correctly use the mantra.
Condition’s also do well if you know how and what to dodge, and if you have access to burst condi.
Ele and Guard do very well because damage and burning.
A necro can do well as both a bunker and zerk.
Engies can lol 1 shot anyone from stealth ( probably working as intended btw)
a class that can stealth burst also does well if they get the drop.
And Real Bunkers can survive the burst.
AoE is still a thing.

p.s. Most mesmer’s take PU with their shatters. So they are actually gonna be stealthed for 6 seconds with decoy and torch 4, and 10 seconds with mass invis.

Lockdown has changed a lot lol, they can take every single interrupt trait now all into one build where as before they had to make many choices between the interrupt traits on which to take. The sheer amount of things that happen when you interrupt makes quite the long list xD.

Just realized some people who purely play spvp may not be familiar with skill lag. Skill lag is different from fps lag, skill lag is most commonly identified as when you press a skill (yes even insta cast skills) and the icon begins flashing but nothing happens till a few moments or seconds later.

You can normally continue to move your character around freely when this happens, in wvw it can get so bad that two zergs run through each other and nothing happens because noones skills are working apart from auto attack or everyone scatters because they can’t activate their heal skill.

No was probably an accident in the coding, I said it hoping to show them what to look for to speed things up. Btw I guess I should say I haven’t tested this in controlled conditions myself yet, I’m just relaying the info from what’s been talked about in the necro forums the past few days.

Indigo, my apologies if I wasn’t clear. I was referring to this being the framework for the elite specs to become full on viable professions by allowing you to have more weapons, skills, etc. in the future. Say for example they release a new weapon (set) for each one… a druid with a scepter/war horn or whatever. They add another handful of utilities. Things of this nature. It’s possible.

Regarding content, it took forever with the core to even have a sniff at what the full content was going to be. ANet isn’t one to boast about everything they’re dreaming about releasing… they only drizzle out information when they’re certain it’s going to be there.

Regardless, with what we’ve received in the past for our money, what we’re getting now with the expansion and the extremely high probability we’ll be getting a lot more between this one and the next one I personally have a hard time understanding how people can complain about the cost. For well under $20 per year average we’re getting access to one hell of a good game.

One caveat about Elite specs expanding to create a new profession. I seem to remember hearing that we will only be able to slot one elite spec at a time. So, yes, they will expand the profession and present more options. For them to be a new profession (at least in my eyes) I’d have to be able to not use anything from the base profession. So, I see them as expansions to the professions.

People will always complain about cost. I’m more concerned about value-for-money. Core GW2 presented me with the best value-for-money I’ve enjoyed from a game since, well, GW. Now, ANet is packaging new stuff behind a pay wall. Now, it seems that ongoing content development between expansions might well require that purchase. Thus, I want to know whether what’s in the HoT box is from the Anet who gave us the base game, or is it from the ANet who gave us LS S2? The hit-or-miss nature (again, for me) of LS S2 was fine as free content. Should HoT paid content be like that, I very much have to question its worth to me.

The next round of elite specs added to the game will be in the next expansion not added in in feature patches. It’s one trait line, one classification set of utilities and 1 weapons worth of weapon skills (in some cases just an offhand) so no it’s not like a new profession.

I also agree that it is like the combination of classes from Gw1 as it seems to be that rather than specialising in one existing aspect of the class to an extreme like the name suggests its simply borrowing an aspect of another class and adding it on top.

They should try to not nerfed burning itself but rather the amount of application or ease of application, the reason is because with conditions now stacking they are all beginning to lose their flavour and are in danger of all becoming a differently named bleed.

Let’s say they take the lazy approach and nerf burnings tick damage,for the moment all that makes burn different from bleed is the amount of damage. You could say a similar thing about the confusion change.

well it’s not a top tier pvp, it’s not a ranked pvp, neither i’m a skilled player, but i don’t think it’s completely useless…

i left all my alts for this, deleting 4 my 100% map completion alts, ditching my main guardian, so i can focus with necro as my new main, dissapointed yes, i know how stressed i am with necro and the latest patch, but after all, it’s fun beating other people with something they looked down upon…so i decide not to running away…

ps : i dont do dungeons or fotm so i dont have to worry about how people cry don’t like having a necro in their party…

Its not a bug mate its because the bags of spirit shards are classified as a consumable which cannot be consumed in pvp. Like food and oils etc.

That being said ofcourse unless im overlooking something it would make sense to just classify it as they do with loot bags or boxes from the reward tracks.

I’m curious, with people tossing around the passive proc buzzword what do people think of damage modifiers that proc when you or the enemy fall to a certain health or switch to a certain weapon set?

I am best EotM commander. Last time when i was commander we did defend FR keep over 3.5 hours. Didn’t leave keep at all because good commander always defend stuff.

So you imploded a map, wow how skillful……. I’m certain everyone on OG was bored as all heck as you trolled in the FR keep.

You should try it some time, the pve rage makes my day.

They are not competitive their dmg is out of the scale now. And lots of ppl playing them and using that advantage while they can.

Btw. necros down state is doing huge dmg now…it needs to be toned down.

What dont you understand about the transfers damage is not ours it’s yours. If you want to nerf our transfer damage that means you have to nerf your damage, are you suddenly going to go quiet now that you understand this like the people in the other thread did?

Btw necro downstate damage got nerfed not buffed in this patch..

Yo guys so this trait casts enfeebling blood on entering shroud and says it causes weakness on critical hits, it says the trait has an internal cooldon on 10 seconds.

So is the internal cool down reflecting enfeebling blood or the weakness on crit? Or do they share the cool down?
