Yet people wants new weaponry variant so why not? And if the files already exist it would be twice as easy to add them to the game

It doesn’t work that way, not by a long shot.

There is some code saying the item is a “polearm class weapon”

It doesnt have proper skins, range, damages, no skills are made.

It is just some code that says the item is a “polearm” and requires level 98. The item is just letters and numbers, making it physical is a whole different thing.

- Target Practice Challenges (requires you to hit targets with melee and ranged attacks without targeting it)

- Spectator Gambling (Which team gets first blood, first team over 100 points, first player to die, bets, etc.

- Jumping Puzzles (perhaps, similar to WvW, rewards spvp stuff)

- Hunger Games mini-game (it’s already coded! cmon!)

- Free costume brawl options located in certain areas.

- Master of ??? (the NPCs from GW1 Battle Isles)

And above all else…..a SOUND NOTIFICATION when a queue pops, that can also be heard while alt-tabbed.

This is Riot’s April Fools joke…(League of Legends)

What is strange about this, is that alot of this is already in GW2 PvP….(not a joke though)

Especially when they get to the mana and cooldowns, it starts looking just like our current PvP visually

So why is it, when a renowned esports game, starts listing these things as a joke (and obviously bad for the game overall) so very different to what we have, and have aspirations for in terms of eSports (well….they said that before launch, who knows anymore)

Instead of changing it from 25% damage to 20% damage, I’d offer a suggestion that keeps the damage levels similar, but makes Hammer a better group weapon:

From:
Hammer damage is increased when a foe is disabled. Reduces recharge on hammer skills.
Damage Damage increase: 25%
Recharge reduced: 20%

To:
Hammer skills that disable foes also inflict Vulnerability. Reduces recharge on hammer skills.
Vulnerability: 7 stacks, 8 second duration
Recharge reduced: 20%

Hammer should not be a burst weapon. This reduces its burst damage, but at the same time would increase its group appeal. Hitting an opponent with Hammer 4, Hammer 5 and Hammer burst would slap 21 stacks of Vulnerability on the target for a whopping +21% damage.

At the same time it adds counterplay – the vulnerability can be cleansed.

It’s a good change.

(Also, you should tweak the damage scaling on that weapon)

I can’t believe I am about to say this…

But I think the system should work similar to how it worked in Heroes Ascent in Guild Wars 1

Step 1: Remove rank from all players
Step 2: Retroactively apply rank points depending on wins in Solo and Team Tournaments

Baseline Rank points for each win from SoloQ
3x Rank points for each win from TeamQ

This would eliminate the whole “Skyhammer farmers” debacle, keep ranks more prestigious and try to get players into the tournament queue and play to win, instead of stat pad.

No idea if it would even work, but I don’t know how it could possibly be worse than what they are going to seemingly implement for the hotjoin heroes.

I have fallen down below and lived a few times and ran around, but never outside the fighting area, which probably has alot more to see.

First time I fell down there I thought it was a testing ground for them creating Crystal Desert themed areas.

First of all, according to https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/say-goodbye-to-armor-repair-costs-and-hello-to-free-trait-resets/ I believe it is safe to say that the overall raw Gold gain from these will decrease.

But currently the rewards are still not worth doing the events for unless part of a regimented farming schedule. (No point in doing events/champs unless for either fun, or farming heavily)

How can this be improved?

I think one way would be to fall back to the token system:

Completing events in level 1-30 areas would provide “low-tier” tokens that can be used to acquire flashy items, specific skins, and perhaps bags of materials.

Flashy Items: Using tokens to obtain things such as tonics, minipets, and potions/food/nourishment

Skins: Use tokens to obtain certain skin “styles” that would find in a variety of low level areas. (perhaps not require a transmutation charge?)

Materials: Use tokens to obtain a bag of a specific type of material.

Example:
- (lvl1-30) Bag of Basic Metals (Copper, Iron, Silver, Gold)
- (lvl30-70) Bag of Pure Metals (Platinum, Mithril)
- (lvl70-80) Bag of Strong Metal (Orichalcum)


Event Chains should be encouraged. How can this be improved?

I believe that each major event chain should have more player interaction, and end in some kind of interesting result (not just a reward)

Accessing mini-dungeons
Opening new areas in the map to travel
Chests and lootcrates
Bosses and other “challenges” such as jumping puzzles

How can we improve player interaction?

Changing how the typical event/quest tropes function can go a long way, Anet loves to invocate, but events are just on-going quests, and nothing overly interesting.

Example: Escort Quests/Events

The player should be what is being escorted. They hold the item, and a small group of NPCs will try and defend you while you try and get to the location (the NPCs will only scale to 1-2 players, the rest falls in your allies hands)

I would also like to make a note that the NPCs in this game are pants-on-head stupid, and are just a detriment rather than a help.

We have Legionnaires and Captains who face-tank and auto attack until they get killed by a moa….what is this!? The world feels like it is full of weak NPCs that need the players protection 24/7…noone wants to do that, ever.

The amount of rank points gained right now is PITIFUL….it is increased, yet still, in comparison to the amount that used to be gained from tpvp, it is ludicrously small.

Bazaar…because:

1.) It had a well designed vertical zone worth exploring, that didn’t punish the player with mobs everywhere.
2.) Plenty of instanced and non-instanced story elements that were enjoyable to experience.
3.) interesting items to try and obtain (backpieces were nice…helmets were odd)
– Note: That they were not pigeonholed Gemstore cashgrabs like the current ones either.
4.) Activites with new mechanics and enjoyable atmosphere.

So much about that update I enjoyed

Step 1: Play randomly and get near Top 5
Step 2: Stop playing and fall into Percentiles
Step 3: Play a single match and get placed into high tiers again

Change Cull The Weak to either dogged or stance duration, and you have a GS/LB build that has been in spvp rotation for quite some time now.

I personally run 0/20/30/0/20 instead of the str, but they are both good…..definitely not new, and already proven to work well in spvp and wvw roaming.

It is luck, I managed to get into Top5 SoloQ at one point, then found out about the better rewards and went to TeamQ….now we get no rewards in either so I don’t even bother anymore :/

But all in all, I ran a non-meta warrior, just roaming and pinging out locations was enough to secure wins.

Builds are one thing, especially given how out of control some are (decap engi), but alot of your success will be based on how you are able to control and monitor the enemies movements.

Proper node rotation and keeping your teams points in outnumbering situations will allow more freedom of movement for your team, and as long as they aren’t pants-on-head dumb, should be able to maintain proper zoning.

You asked for help and are attacking those who are trying to offer you the help you requested despite your not including item names or screenshots that show the issue you were encountering? Really?

How about saying, I don’t know…something like:
“I do not think I am explaining the situation clearly. This is my fault and I apologize. Here is a screenshot showing the items I am trying to transmute and the Transmutation Crystal I am using. Also, here is a screenshot of it not letting me transmute them as you can see the item is highlighted red when I try to select it. Thank you for your help with trying to fix my issue.

Why bother asking for help if you are only going to attack those who try to help you despite what little information you felt like providing, and then ‘jump the gun’ and go and waste a crystal (or “stone” as you say) by transmuting to a white item and then another crystal (or “stone”) to the item you want…and then asking about getting a refund due to your impatience?

Also, you kept saying you used a “Transmutation Stone” and that both items were level 80, but “Stones” are for two items levels 1-79. Crystals, as was being explained, are used for transmuting level 80 items. You stated their colors correctly when describing their quality, but not their names.

  • Blue Quality (yellow icon) = “Transmutation Stone”
    (which you say you were using)
  • Green Quality (blue icon) = “Transmutation Crystal”
    (which you also seemed to say you were using)

This is why screenshots were requested, to determine exactly what was being used and what was trying to be transmuted despite what was being said was being used and what was trying to be transmuted.

You seem to have confused my bug report with a help request, oh I am sorry.

I never asked for help in the Op, I was attempting to explain a situation that was not functioning as intended (a bug…in the bug forum)

I did mess up the name of the item, but did include the color, so it is a 50/50 mistake.

But all-in-all, I solved my own problem, and was simply noting the issue. If another player did come in here looking for help, they would have been left with misinformation.


In more detail:

Items:

Item 1: Pre-transmuted Heavy Armor Nightmare Cuirass (Soldier Stats/Nightmare Skin/Soldier Rune)

Item 2: Freshly purchased Karma (orr) Armor (Soldier Stats/Aurora Skin/Melandru Rune)

Transmutation Crystal used (Green Quality, Level 80 items)

Processes:

- Placing either item into the left slot of Transmutation window
– Unable to place the second item into the empty window (red box, prevents placement)
– Placing either item into the right slot of Transmutation window
– Unable to place the second item into the empty window (red box, prevents placement)

Notes:

- Placing a different Level80 Heavy Armor Chest Piece will work properly with both items (process working as intended)
– The issues is localized with the 2 items in question
– The pre-transmutated item may be the same item as the one being transmuted prior (perhaps it was the exact same Karma armor before transmutation, purchased a long time ago) but the game still believes the item is the same, even after the older transmute.

Although what would be be theme? Karka on the left, Risen on the right… Could be a war between the two? My focus on the theme is simple, if it’s just going to be an extension of Sparkfly (same design, same enemies etc) then I’d rather have ANet apply that time and effort on creating something new.

This would actually be rather interesting, the Risen have a large influence in the water, the ships coming in, and just a large contingency overall in the water areas of Sparkfly.

And on the flip-side, the Karka are very water based, but are only seen on land (noone else notice this?)

So the area where the island (right) meets the water would be a great place for an aggressive brawl between the 2.

Risen and Karka fighting on the beaches, ships in the waterway, Karka are naturally able to “siege” with their attacks, so they could be latched onto, or launching projectiles at the ships and trying to sink them.

But would the consortium have some involvement, since the area is becoming settled, and the nearby land to the west is in fact the main hub controlled by friendly NPCs.

Do I really need to repeat myself. These are no longer available. They are simply the byproduct of the ones that existed prior to that update.

This might sound like a patronizing question, but are you sure both items are:
1. The same type (ie. both chest armor)
2. The same class of armor (ie. both leather)

Edit: Ah yes, as Inculpatus said, you have to use the Rare/yellow Transmutation Crystal to transmute anything that’s level 80, even if the other item isn’t 80.

They are both level 80 heavy armor chest pieces.

Ahh…there is your problem. You need to use a (YELLOW) Transmutation Crystal, rather than a (GREEN) Transmutation Stone for Level 80 Armor.

No, this is not the case…since those don’t even exist anymore…please double check what you suggest, before suggesting it. (If I was a new player I would be very confused trying to find an item I cannot obtain)

(this was part of an update/patch)
Blue = up to lvl79
Green = up to lvl80

BUT…I was able to convert the item by:

Transmuting the item to a white item (level 80), then using a second transmutation stone to transmute it to the item I wanted.

I wonder if I can be reimbursed the Transmutation Stone due to the bug…

Transmutation issue

I recently purchased a karma armor piece from Orr and attempted to transmute it with a Nightmare Cuirass I have owned for quite some time.

They both have the same stats, but different appearance and Runes.

So attempting to place both of these items into the transmutation slot (no matter which one i put in first, or which side I put them in, I have tried all combinations of left/right, piece 1/2) It will always result in the first item being placed in properly, and the second giving a negative red box when hovering over.

This prevents me from combining these 2 pieces of armor regardless of how they are placed into the transmutation window.

Notes:

- Yes I am using GREEN (level 80) Transmutation Stones
- Yes I have tried putting both pieces into the first slot, and both pieces into the second slot.

No…just no. Team Deathmatch is good for people that just want to jump in a bit and score some kills to let off some steam, but if they’re going to release a new mode, it needs to be something that encourages strategy and skill, not the ability to zerg and stack for kills.

If the devs need to see what kind of maps would make for good, diverse, strategic gameplay, then they should take a look at the stuff from HoH and GvG in GW1.

Cause HoH didn’t have TDM huh….all they have to do is limit respawns, and there you go.

Stability

Currently:

- Stops all non-condition CC effects for its entire duration.
– Is a boon. (strippable by the few classes capable of boon strip)
– Is frontloaded onto certain classes, and nearly non-existent on others.

Rework:

- Now is “stacked” (3 stacks) stopping up to 3 non-condition CC effects by default.
– Can be stacked to a maximum of 5 with multiple skills providing Stability.
– Still has a limited duration.
– No longer a boon, removal consists of depleting the stacks, or the duration.

Crowd-Control

Diminishing Returns:
– Boon (Resistant) each stack represents a % of CC effectiveness lowered
– For each non-condition CC applied to a player, it’s effectiveness will be reduced by 50% (0% > 50% > 25% > 10% max) (3 stacks not including 0%)
– Does not provide pure immunity (even at 10% effectiveness, can be used to interrupt/stop)
– Strippable

This area has been there since launch, prior to Southsun’s creation. Why was this not made into a transition zone to gain access to Southsun by land?

Not that people want to go to Southsun, it is just one of those inconsistencies that seem to be more and more prevalent in GW2’s development in terms of permanent content (and pls bring back Labyrinthian Cliffs)

Who know, they did completely miss the opportunity to add a connection/small zone in between Southsun and Sparkfly (you can visually see the pathway on the leftside of Sparkfly that would lead directly to Southsun, instead it just looks like endless ocean)

They have done a mediocre job adding zones, Lab Cliffs was amazing..but for some strange reason, temporary, yet they keep the !$@# southsun area as permanent.

I am still hoping they add a small zone between Sparkfly and Southsun anyways >.>

Why are there so many closed minded naysayers. This isnt a change for the sake of change, it is an addition to better diversify player builds and combat potential. Just because elites mean nothing right now, doesn’t mean it has to remain that way forever.

I like playing alongside rangers in PvE because they have good survivability and provide alot of power based bonuses to you and themselves. As long as they dont use !%@$#ing point-blank shot on something you just CCed or put AoE onto.

Elite skills aren’t as important as traits, traits are far more useful and build defining,

That is exactly why it needs to change, currently skills are just there, they have very little impact because they are usually always the same ones everyone else uses and are just a staple to basic combat. Currently traits have far more impact because they effect the classes proficiency, and the weapon skills are just “the tools you are stuck with.”

Please…grandmaster traits are not exactly lacking for the majority of classes. Elite skills on the other hand, we do not even have a handful of that aren’t race specific or actually useful.

The new system for searching/hunting for Grandmaster traits should have been used for finding new elite skills tbh (ala GW1) which would have a far greater impact overall for players builds and combat.

Hopefully in the future, being able to choose our weapon skills, and creating our own builds will actually be a thing as well, one can only hope.

All of the abbreviations that would normally be (i am assuming) Apr, are all Abr…maybe I am just unaware of how April is abbreviated, but it seems someone mistyped…then proceed to copy and paste the mistype into each cell :P

works well in a team, but with (im assuming) cleansing ire being the only condi removal, is risky.

I have been running a 0/20/30/0/20 with GS/Hammer for ages and ages in WvW, I like the combo quite a bit.

Yes, I did say that. I also said in that post that we are investigating ways that we can get proper metrics to reflect the majority of the playerbase. If you knew the amount of players that actually played PvP in our game, then you would understand why a strawpoll with 300 votes is not sufficient.

That’s not to say that we don’t talk about it internally. We talk about it quite a lot.

If the issue was as simple as me making a strawpoll, I’d do it; but it’s not. A very, very small percentage of our playerbase even visit these forums, let alone vote on a poll.

I know alot of people may not do this either…maybe give them some incentive but:

Use the beta feedback system to do the strawpolls. Have players who fill out the poll get a small in-game gift for filling out the survey/poll

Even something like: Should Skyhammer be in the Solo Arena rotation? Yes/No, and give them like….150 rank points for filling it out or something.

But agree with the above…use an in-game system, just try it, don’t think and think and think…just try it. You guys need to TRY more things, instead of brainstorm > trashcanning everything.

this patch will remove Glory, and increase rank points earned, we don’t know when the balance patch will be…if it does

Where did u read that this patch will include “increased rank points” ?
While I would very much welcome that, I am quite pessimistic when I hear such good news.
Also exactly how many points extra will be get per win in tpvp?

Q: Will rank points remain the same?
A: Starting on 3/18, we will be awarding increased rank points in all areas of PvP.
