If you enjoy the class, its mechanics and skills then you should continue regardless. Necromancer was the class of my choice because I like the idea of death magic, siphon and dark arts and I still don’t regret my decision. Sure there are many bugged traits and skills, and the minion are dumb but eventually it will be changed regardless, somethings cannot be ignored and I believe Anet will address them (specially minions). Once these are fixed I believe the Necro will become pretty strong, I’m no expert but I’m usually a top player in sPvP with the broken traits now imagine when they actually work.

So in the end ask yourself if you enjoy the theme and the way the profession plays more than others, if you do then you might want to stick with it.

As a necro I’ve tried all sorts of builds, I tried a fear build but max I could make fear last was about 4 seconds (8 seconds if I added doom). I was in a few random matches testing a build yesterday and met a Necro that could fear us for 20 seconds or more. I’m not sure the build for this or how this is even possible, has anyone else been hit with one of these? Is it an exploit?

I literally just watched my character run towards a wall for 20 seconds being completely hopeless (My stun break was on cooldown)

Is it only on PvP that they don’t work? Because death nova works fine on PvE for me. It took me a while to catch it at first but then realized that when my minions died, they left a well of poison behind, so I was like oh so that’s death nova. For some reason I thought it would be like some green smoke or something .

It works with every minion for me, even bone minions, the only time it doesn’t work is when you explode them, which sucks because exploding the bone minions is a must
