Since we are talking about trolling I had Lupicus trolled me a couple of times before, a few times on phase 3 he would siphon a bit of health off me and then go back to phase 2 like 3 times it really kitten me off.
At one point he got me in downed state and I stayed there attacking him and healing myself, so after a minute of being in downstate he gets from phase 3 back to phase 2, looks at me for a few more seconds, laughs at me, and does his giant AOE to finish me off. I ragedquit after that.

Were you able to skip the mobs after the first boss on p2 without any help?
Yes it’s pretty easy, Use Spectral Walk, Plague Signet, and Well of Power. Activate Spectral Walk then go into Plague Form with blindness. Use condition removal if you don’t make it the whole way and dodge.

I think it should be easier with a ranger than a necro since you guys have access to endurance regeneration. Here’s a hint though, Axe #5 reflects projectiles. Only problem is bubble but that’s up to you to figure out.

Hey Ascii this is close to what I was using with ascended rabid back and exotic shaman trinket, the staff was also shaman’s for extra vitality, I’ll be honest I was using full rabid before this try and the moment I decided to switch was when I managed to kill. I lost about 9 extra damage from ticks (from 129-120) for an extra 5k vitality when using staff, also lost some toughness in trade for healing power. If you pause video at 7:33 you can see final stats.

How do you get there solo, though? Is it possible to just run all the way to Lupicus? Never really been in parties that skipped huge amounts of mobs in there…
Anyone have any input on this?
My friends are casuals for the most part and probably aren’t as interested in watching or doing this as I am, so I’d rather solo it and not waste their time if it’s possible.Path 2 can be soloed, first 2 bosses are easy. Hardest mob in there apart from Lupi is the Hunter before lupi lol.
Yes i got there by soloing path 2, after practice it only takes an hour to get there solo. If you’re in NA I’m willing to help you get there while you learn what you need to do.
Phase 1 was a lot of spamming 1 and dodging, but that was the fastest phase (3:30mins suprisingly for not a full condition build) So that’s not so bad ;p
I believe a hybrid build would be faster with dagger/focus, scepter/dagger but I didn’t want to take the time to grind another set ;p, besides I was trying not to be too squishy while I figured phase 3.

Great job – When you got trapped in that bubble near the end, I thought he may have had you – good on you for keeping your cool and showing well rounded player skills. You did great dodging and positioning, and your use of death shroud was (to me) very well done.
I don’t play a necro so I can’t say for certain if anything seemed broken, but to me it looked legit, and it was a fine exhibition of skill. Fantastic!
When he trapped me I was like Oh God Why ME!! Nothing broken with necro if anything we need some love lol, now your turn to solo it with your ranger ;p

Did you try using spectral walk at all when attempting this btw?
Yeah, it’s great when the swiftness is active, not so much when it’s on cooldown I found the 25% passive speed more reliable.

@ Andele, I posted the build on the video description and some of the tactics reasoning. I think what you mean is the single green target attack that he throws at random people? That only hits long range if you’re melee it won’t hit you, that’s why I try to stay as close to him as possible on the second and third phase.
@ Targuil, For Lupicus to cast his bubble less frequently you have to stay as close to him as possible without moving him around too much, then he will stop casting it, As you can see though in the video he will cast it as soon as he has the chance, multiple bubbles did kill me a lot of times I practiced so I had to master phase 3 to a point where he would only do one bubble at most which I had Flesh Wurm for, I also tried Stability Death Shroud but as you can see sometimes I need to tank hits with it and the 10sec cooldown is too long.

Probably the most challenging thing I’ll ever do in this game, and the most satisfying. It took a while to figure out the right strategy, but I finally managed to kill him. Enjoy.

Sucks this skins really fit my fire themed charr with his volcanus and these weapons but I despise RNG, reason I don’t have a legendary.

The Necro’s problem is, and always will be, a lack of active defense. No blocking skills, no evading skills, no reflecting skills, very light on hard control, mediocre on soft control, no vigor, very little stability, and bad stun breakers. Death Shroud doesn’t stop attacks insomuch as it puts those attacks into a different HP bar that starts out empty and slowly fills depending on what skills you use and how many kills you get.
Unfortunately, the devs have stated that they want it like this. So, the necromancer’s selling point will forever be “this class is meant to take 100B to the face”.

Ty all, Song is called Mad Fantasy from a game called King of Fighters. Everything was easy except the transition from phase 1-2 where you have all these locusts left it can get chaotic.

We should have a trait that grants vigor when entering Death Shroud, this is the reason I can’t solo Lupicus with my Necro. Also 1 utility with stability too much to ask?

problem with it was that it copied the condition rather than transfering it so your allies also kept the condition while you also gained it. Forgot if there was anything else.

I started doing some sPvP after the patch and my results are quite different. I can handle myself pretty well against most players. I haven’t lost a 1vs1 vs a Guardian or Warrior I consider these easy targets, followed by mesmer/necro/ranger.
The classes that give me the most trouble are engineer/ele/thief. I’m condition specced so this might be why though I’m pretty tanky but the thief stealth and so much evade annoys me, Engineer for some reason conditions don’t seem to work on them and same with eles, I guess because they have so many condition removals and boons, and corrupt boon is so unreliable I hate when it doesn’t work wasting a skill but if I don’t take it then I def won’t win against those classes unless the players are pretty bad.
Of course there’s always the exception, I played a couple of matches vs a very skilled mesmer that used a lot of stealth/immob/stuns with a shatter build it was tough to keep track of the real one with so much dps coming at me.

It’s still pretty meh, I see no point in weakening enemies for so long specially in PvE, they’ll be dead before you know it, this would seem good against bosses actually but usually they have some sort of defense vs conditions so a 10 sec weakness lasts like 1 second.
I could see it somewhat work on pvp though but I’d rather take something else.

The reason you didn’t realize it is because it’s a new bug at least this year on some patch, you no longer died if you fell while in death shroud where before you could die even in Death Shroud if the fall was too high.

I always pick dark themed casters, Necromancers or Dark Mages. I played a mesmer in Beta and I actually liked it a lot, but when the game launched I picked necro and never looked back. I like evil characters with a mean attitude even though my necro is pre-wired to be a goofball.

On some encounters the shadow fiend is better than the bone fiend because some minions are safer melee than range in some situations.
In my opinion it would be the CPC, but mostly because I don’t pvp much though I don’t think I would use it there either I think any well is much more useful and I don’t like weakening myself for 6seconds.
The other one is the signet of power, just doesn’t make sense to me how if I’m using it for a power in a power build why would I need the conditions anyway and the cooldown is way too long for a condition build for just 5 seconds of conditions.

It’s fine in my opinion 900, 1200 range feels the same to me. Only thing I want is a weapon that cleaves, hint hint axe.

There’s a splash outside the circle so you have to be quite away from them to not get hit about a 600 range at least.
The aoe hits the circles closer to him first then the farther ones, best to dodge where there’s no circle, he summons fewer circles the further away you are, if you are really watching sometimes another circle has already hit before the one you are on so you can dodge towards that one. Also if you’re playing it safe and keeping your range if you run outwards where there’s no circles you won’t even have to dodge.
Yes the AOEs can be blocked/reflected, actually the fight will go faster if his aoe is reflected close to him. of course if people aren’t close to the reflection field they can still get hit.

Yeah, I actually don’t have a problem with phase 2 but phase 3 is another story, I have various theories in mind now that I got to practice it more with my guardian but I have to get to phase 3 to try them with my Necro.
Don’t be surprised if another Necro beats me to it though, I know there’s a couple that are trying it

I’ll be awaiting my guild invite, I know it’s been soloed with a guardian and way faster but I wanted to solo it too and learn Lupicus moves to perfection for when I try solo with my Necro. I’m no guardian pro so bear with my mistakes also I don’t have zerker gear for my guardian so it’s a little slow.

In my experience with minions is that Golem is usually the most responsive minion, followed by wurm/fiend/shadow minion and lastly the bone minions are the least responsive.
In my experience they are most responsive with axe/dagger as main weapon, followed by scepter where bone minions will start failing and just stand around specially with multiple targets. Let’s not mention the staff, if you start the fight with staff auto attack it’s possible the minions won’t respond at all. The workaround for this is to start with axe/dagger auto attack.
Other than that minions are actually great when traited right, I actually made a solo video of the up path and on 3 bosses I use minions with good results, I think it would’ve been actually a much tougher without the minions. Here’s a link to the video, I killed vines, spider boss and nightmare boss with minions.
Also minions seem to react better when summoned into a fight rather than pre-summoned.
I’d like to add a note that yes minions are still buggy and they should be better for example react when using any skill. But when using workarounds they can work just as well.

actually we need more life force increasing skills, it regenerates too slow to compensate for how quickly it’s eaten. Unless you have spectral walk/armor but I don’t believe in getting hit to regenerate life force.

A little bit over 2 hours because the kitten silver warden kept killing me lol, It could’ve been so easy having my minions kill the worm while I afked but that’s just not the way to do it ;p

There’s a whole thread about this. The life force pool is roughly 60% of your hp, with soul reaping it gets to about 76%, so it’s not a full 2nd bar, against lupicus you can kiss your lf good bye if you try to soak a huge attack (like the siphon, or jump siphon).

There’s no Audio yet, I used pre-determined build with minions in mind but switched it around depending on the situation, for example went conditions vs the spiders, zerker vs spider boss etc.

Andele – Ranger and Engineer both have source to endurance regeneration, engineer would be easier because of invulnerable skills and skills that reflect projectiles though ranger would be next. I think necro has it tough because the way our profession works. It would make sense if we had a trait that grant vigor for 5s when going in Death Shroud.

I can get him to phase 3, but then it’s Not Enough Energy and Death Shroud even with high vitality and 30 pts in Soul Reaping gets eaten by the first big attack. I’m starting to think it’s not possible with a necromancer because it’s the only class with no way of gaining Endurance/Vigor.

I’m always AFK in lion’s arch, sometimes I switch back to GW2 to take a glance at my awesome character then continue being AFK
