they can’t put bans for exploits because the dungeons are buggy as hell (simin and se path 1 for example) can’t be done the way they are intended and require certain tricks (glass cannons for example and putting 4 sparks and just 1 on the next time she stealths).

Same with teleport gun, I mean why keep it in the game anyway? to bait people? :/

Though it’s easy and simple if you have the right group and the right classes + using some sort of trick like a lot of people here like to say. I’m certain the path is not supposed to spawn infinite waves of veteran mobs. I don’t think there’s a fix coming for this anytime soon either.

Have you guys done that giant event in Arah path 4 post simin? It’s WAVES of silver mobs, illusionist, mages, hunters. IT"S HELL! EVERYONE COME!

Yeah the system is messed up, what I do is form my group with a buddy of mine and enter the dungeon first then invite people, this way if someone tries to pull kitten like this and boots me then the party disbands and no one gets nothing, if they boot my friend then I’ll argue with them and leave the party then it gets disbanded again.

Fortunately this usually doesn’t happen, I guess cause people figure out that one of us is the instance owner.

Sadly no LFG tool makes it difficult for new players to find a group, fortunately once you know about gw2lfg.com it’s much easier, just post your level and make sure you specify that you are new to the dungeon someone’s bound to help you out, I would.

Because it’s end game, and you should take longer to enjoy the game more.

Also because anything that speeds up the proccess of attaining what you want gets nerfed, it’s a philosophy by now.

Please to the people that hate on zerker geared characters, don’t. After running dungeons a couple of times you become so used to them that you basically know all there needs to be known about a boss and mobs, this is where zerker gear comes handy, to deplenish the mobs HP as fast as possible because that’s all most bosses are at the end, a boss with a huge HP pool with no challenge at all.

I love my necro with all my heart, but when it comes time to deal damage and do speed runs I switch out to my zerker warrior.

There’s 2 champions of those in arah path 4, 1 right at the beginning and 1 after simin, but no chest spawns afterwards. Never dropped anything worthwhile for me and I personally don’t think these are it. There’s smaller versions of these called Risen Knights, and I’m not sure what they really are though they do look like twisted gargoyles.

Now I say if you find a legendary one, that would be a very good candidate.

I’m sure someone has, but here they either get merged or closed by moderators so maybe that’s why devs don’t get to see them. You’re the lucky one though so give it a try!

Stop joining groups and start making them, problem solved. My friend and I never join a party because of these reasons. I’m sure some people start a party in good faith and I’m sure some in bad faith, I start them in good faith and def not taking any risks with BS like this. I advice you all to do the same since all the answers we get are (report) instead of fixing the stupid system.

@ RumStein – I have a full Arah set, gift of zhaitan and like 2000 extra tokens, I know the place pretty well I think a rare boss would’ve appeared then. I did check everywhere but you’re welcome to do so also if you want to be certain. Problem is there is only so much you can explore without glitching with the port gun, in which case I doubt that’s what the devs wanted us to do.

@ TheMaskedParadigm – I hope you read my post about what I found post-simin, you’re still welcome to go and explore so you can see for yourself, when you do kill the giant though try to see if you can damage it and if so, kill it as a party and not with the cannon see what he drops if he drops anything. Other than that I couldn’t find anything important.

After exploring Arah Path 2 for about 2 hrs I can say there’s no hidden extra boss unless I completely skipped something, some interesting places I found but nothing worth mentioning. It appears Zhaitan’s Rest can only be accessed through path 4 also. Only thing left is Kojan the Gorilla King but, from the videos I’ve seen he doesn’t drop anything, he only unlocks a waypoint and no chest spawns. So this pretty much almost rules out Arah out of the equation. I doubt path 3 has any hidden boss or extra events.

My next guess is AC, though it’s not a level 80 dungeon a lot of gargoyle lore comes from ascalon + the name catacombs it’s too good to pass up (there’s even gargoyle heads that shoot fire), I should be able to explore all paths tomorrow to their fullest.

Gargoyles are creatures which can be found throughout Ascalon and Kryta. Before the Searing in Ascalon, Gargoyles mainly dwelt in the Catacombs.

Well what I meant is they say sort of different things, first of all we’ve been all under the impression that it came from a LARGE BOSS CHEST, therefore we weren’t trying to find a specific boss but rather specific chests that hadn’t been farmed, also LARGE BOSS CHEST is not very specific, it could mean that only LARGE chests in the world drop it, it could mean large chest from a dungeon.

Now this other dev says SPECIFIC (RARE) BOSS, and doesn’t add a chest to his wording even though he says it’s exactly as lindsey say, even though she did not say anything about a specific rare boss.

So this just opens up more possibilities than narrow it down really, which is somewhat good and bad, but it’s better to know that the the staff is actually out there hidden somewhere.

I’d say now with the new info from the dev, we are more inclined to be looking for a specific (rare) boss that has not been farmed much (sort of likethe legendary giant in arah path 4 which I thought it was)

Hehe if they don’t want to just solo it he’s pretty easy when slowed, just make sure you’re party leader

On the other hand, I see plenty of groups on GW2LFG.com that clearly state they’re killing everything including kholer and the troll. met some pretty cool people through that site.

Haha no, I thought it was path 4 after simin there’s a giant event that’s pretty tough with waves of 5 risen at a time, figured no1 does this and that a chest spawned BUT no chest after doing the event and no loot from boss just some 15k exp lol.

It’s possible that the POI is from the story mode even though I got it last night from Path 4 after exploring (hadn’t done story mode) I don’t think there’s a way to get there from story mode since all the paths are blocked and a lot of the time is on the ship. It wouldn’t hurt to explore story mode either though just to make sure.

I go with your second theory that it’s probably where Zhaitan rested before he awoke again, but nothing special about it, I will explore path 2 today see what I can find. I’m just trying to explore Arah fully to make sure we are not missing anything, Don’t take Zhaitan’s Rest POI to heart though, probably nothing going on there but it’s just something to keep in mind when doing the paths.

I’m going to stick with the info devs have provided, not because I’m 100% sure they’re correct, but because without that faint guidance there’s literally an entire continent where the staff could be.

Which means I’ll have to disregard the giant event, as there’s no chest.

It’s funny though that devs confirm that it’s on the loot table, but then they go on and say different things.

I mean dev said it’s EXACTLY as lindsey said (Lindsey said that it drops from a LARGE BOSS CHEST), however this dev says that it’s a drop from a SPECIFIC (RARE) BOSS. So it’s not really that much exact it just opened up more possiblities until farther clarification or until the staff is found.

If people have enough gold to buy legendaries for over 2k gold I’m sure people have gotten the title.

It would be if it was path 4 after simin, I can tell you rarely anyone does that event, I mean why would you do the event after you spend 3-8hrs on that path lol, sadly it’s probably not since no chest spawns.

Nah, this is where you have to destroy 3 towers to gain access to the next part, there really is nothing special about it but the name. The giants are after the simin fight but the event doesn’t spawn a chest, so only thing left wondering is if actually killing the giant as a party instead of a group actually makes him drop loot, beside that you can discard path 4. Zhaitain’s rest is just a POI to take into consideration that might be accessible through another path, maybe path 2 for example maybe then the arrow can have a meaning, I’ll be exploring the dungeons throughly just like I did this path starting with arah. I suggest dungeon goers to do the same, just make sure ur party leader.

What about the area post-Simin in Arah’s path 4? I remember there was a maze of sorts around there, might be some alternate route or a bonus-event?
The path is the one that’s been played the least out of all explorable dungeons, and even more so the part after the priestess of Dwayna.

What about Flame Temple Tombs mini-dungeon? This used to be an Ascalonian Crypt.. This one has been farmed though. Not excessively, but more than a lot, since release

I just finished path 4, only thing after Simin is a couple of champions and the legendary giant, this event is pretty tough, we finished it but when the cannon charges it kills the giants, didn’t try to hit them cause I thought they’d be left alive so I guess if anyone can confirm if they actually can be killed without the cannon then the loot wud have to come from the giant because no chest spawned after the event. If not i’ll try it myself next time i do the path.

Another interesting thing I found is a POI named Zhaitan’s Rest, nothing special about but the name, BUT if you look closely at the zoomed out map there’s an arrow pointing to it? I’m just seeing things now…

That would explain it but on the other hand the PvP locker is terrible for names. The biggest problem I see with this item is that the Trading Post doesn’t recognize its existence.

Yeah that’s a little worrysome, specially since items like cadalbolg are in there lol. But from what I’ve read, an item won’t be found in the trading post until someone actually posts it, that’s why legendaries weren’t searchable before.

That’s why I thought before that it was bugged, but since that dev posted that it is in the game just 2 days ago it’s made me believe that there might actually be a place that hasn’t been farmed enough for it to drop, since it is a specific (rare) boss.

I’ve played cleric’s guardian and I was pretty dissapointed that the heals weren’t great, even with signet and 30 pts in the healing traits an ele specced in healing with water could do some better burst healing. Not to mention the empowering might you are missing on giving your team + staff #4 you can improve your teams dps by a lot.

Sure you are pretty much unkillable but you can’t kill crap either, so when you’re with a good team you’re gimping the party and when you’re with a bad party more than likely they’ll still go down.

It’s not like you’re not supporting your party with a shout build focusing on empowering might and staff #4 charge, you still get heals out, you build might for your team and you can still be pretty tanky because of autristic heal, dish out decent dps, just your heals won’t be as effective and you’ll try to critical as much as possible.

I stopped buying gems since they introduced the ascended gear grind which I’m sure will bound to continue this year. So they’re missing on 100s of dollars from me but I’m sure they get more than enough, though I’m deeply hoping I’m not the only one that stopped.

I used to play healer too, so I guess when I tried the ele water specced it brought a tear to my eye. Anyway if healing scales that bad then I guess I can go dps mostly but just keep the healing traits. I mean it’s not like I planned on spamming 1. I switch a lot, cripple/chill and drop firestorms accordingly, I also pull out the fiery sword and think man I could be doing a lot of damage so wasn’t sure if having healing gear was worth it. I think it’s not now I guess I can try diff runs with different gear and judge accordingly.

I never have dc’ed on mine even though my brother dc’s on his old machine plenty of times, specially fractals. I barely ever lag too

However when I plug my xbox I sometimes lag a lot on call of duty. Switch back to guild wars and no lag… so weird.

I like to think I’m greatly supporting my team with my current healing build (lvl 45, done AC a couple of times)

Rejuvanting gear and weapon. No runes or sigils yet.

I’ve seen that it’s mainly the burst heal that makes the difference, for example I switch to water – that’s an aoe heal + aoe regeneration. #3 staff is a 2 second heal and #5 also provides a lot of heal and condition removal, this all in a matter of seconds seems like a pretty good deal + possible runes and sigils and it all sounds too great. I find myself usually when close to death that I can heal myself back up completely by doing this (I use the healing signet on passive, almost never activate it).

What I don’t like of course is all the damage I’m missing out on and how the frost bow doesn’t have any good healing skills even though it increases your healing :/

Of course this is balanced around AC dungeon, I’m not sure how good the healing will be on the higher levels, so what’s your experience with healing builds? Do you think the ele’s healing is one of the best if not the best? And how’s the healing on the higher lvl dungeons like fractals/arah?

Not really impressed, he was just running around trying to support his team, but most of his attacks were weak and conditions barely stacked and often cleansed, epidemic was also not that effective, wasted time on a treb, but even worse the enemy players wasted time following him (what are 3 players doing at a treb anyway). He’s also wasting time with ground targeting when fast ground targeting is the optimal way.

Best things he did was pull off that rez and hold a point, which any necro with plague can do for 30 seconds.

I’ll believe it when I see a pic of it, not the first time that a friend of somebody’s friend has seen it but unfortunately couldn’t get proof it.

Ok looks like this answers most of my questions, mainly do AC and then TA when unlocked, only thing I’m left wondering is if anyone could confirm if you still get the same amount of experience on repeated paths.

I’ll start to level my alts soon through dungeons and event chains mainly, what are the best out there in terms of level range, I know Kessex hills centaur event for levels 20-30 or so, and hitharin lands centaur event for levels 35-45 I think.. I’m no expert, I leveled through map completion but I’m looking for a fast leveling experience this time around (no crafting though, don’t want to spend g).

Also is the DR bad on these events, does it affect the XP greatly to keep repeating events?

I have an ele that will soon reach 35 I’ll probably want to level her through dungeons this time. My question is, how fast do you level?

For example I’ll probably start AC at 35, I know the 3 paths + SM will get me almost 4 levels so that’s good, but how’s the DR after that? Still gain good experience if you repeat the 3 paths? Does story mode still give you good exp if you repeat it? Do you do other dungeons to fight the DR off like CM and TA once you’re able to? And how does it compare to just normal leveling through hearts and DEs. Thank you.
