Their stock would surely suffer more if all of the dedicated players who still spend money in the gem store just stopped playing (or at least stopped spending money).

I’ve stopped, not another cent from me. This is no longer the game that deserves my money, if it had a sub I would’ve cancelled my subscription.

Not buying those chests because for one, I won’t gamble on super rare skins that will waste all your money, i’d gladly buy them off the gem store if available there like some skins and minis from the halloween event.
And secondly I’m just so dissapointed by the power creep created, if you have checked out the new rings you’ll know what I’m talking about, this is not something I support and i think I might just stop logging on altogether out of sheer dissapointment.

Ok so about these drops and bags. I ran all TA paths today with MF gear, I can say that the rewards weren’t as great as I thought, I only got 1 rare item and it wasn’t unique, I also got 1 green ring with some crappy stats, this was unique but worthless. Anyway after this experimentation I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not even worth switching Magic Find gear for this UNLESS bosses don’t drop the loot bags sometimes so I guess I’ll experiment this tomorrow if it affects it.
The loot bags contain the same thing everytime, 3 tokens, a bag of silver that grants 3-4 silver, and a liquid karma which gives about 300 karma without boosts. All bosses dropped this loot bags.
So this is not that bad in my opinion, 9 extra tokens, 900 karma, and about 9-12 extra silver per path is the rewards you are looking at, which is much better than what we had, however I would’ve preferred improved chests.

Ok I can confirm that TA Up path grants a point for the hobby achievement, we skipped all mobs (except spiders) and I still got it. Nothing for the other 2 paths (skipped mobs also)

in the patch notes it said the reward was also reworked with new combination of stats to dungeon armors….they look the same to me..did u guys forget to put it in? or am i missing something o.o

I’m seeing a lot of people reacting to Magic Find being an issue here, so I felt I should clarify something.
Magic find has always effected dungeon creature drops – we haven’t changed that at all. Magic find does not effect chest drops however. This has always been the case in dungeons.
The mention of Magic Find for the sub bosses, is to say that we have given them unique loot drops, and that Magic Find is a factor in what you get from them. That is no different in the past as it has been in the future. The more Magic Find you have, the better chances of obtaining a rarer item.
Magic find was not worth bringing in dungeons for two reasons.
1. Trash mobs have too much HP, farming them is counter productive with MF gear. The real incentive to do dungeons has been the tokens.
2. It makes the player wearing it lose out on stats for self benefit and not for the group = less teamwork in dungeons.
With this update, Magic Find gear has a benefit from this loot so now at least until everyone figures out what boss drops what, Magic Find will be used.
The better update that we expected was better chest drops, which all around need better drops IMO. A simple chest with all this loot/chances after defeating this certain boss would have been fine, now we have to hurt the group for a better chance at the drop from the sub-bosses. I hope you understand the actual concern now.

They have been improved to ascended stats already so now are better than exotics and top tier. As far as I know Ascended weapons will not be released as of yet, only rings and backs for the moment.

darres – congrats on ur gear mate. I think the main problem was the arah gate bugged which I admit sucks, I wouldn’t have finished my arah set if my server was bugged all the time also. Arah was tough for me in the beginning, first dungeon I ever did and went in with green/yellow gear before i got my first dungeon piece.
Like everything you gain experience, you know the fights and the paths, I found a couple of people to run it late and kept good players on my friend list and invited them when i needed other people. Runs became much smoother, 3-4 hrs run from pulling lups turn into 2 hrs and into 1hr one shotting him everytime, after a while path 3 took only 30 mins and 1 and 2 about an hour my last pieces of my set came by way faster than my first two.
After that I got dungeon master in less than a week and was amazed at how much easier the rest of the dungeons are, if anything they could learn something from arah, anyways we’ll see with this update.
And I’m not sure what’s up with that Solid Gold guy, I pug dungeons all the time and usually do just fine, maybe running with the same bad players I guess.

Did some TA today and completed my exotic condition set, too bad it will all be replaced with ascended in due time, I’m not even buying condition rings cause I know ascended rings will be better soon. Let the treadmill begin.

It’s true we will need this option now because if we want to really go deep into the dungeon say level 5,6 however it works then most likely we will need specific ascent tiers to reach that level, and with 1 party member wiping at one point because they don’t have the resistance it will really bring down the group and then there’s no way to know if he had it or not beforehand.

I don’t like the sound of it, and from the looks of it it is what I’m thinking. The reason why I play and support this game with my time and money is because of the non-gear progression it offered, and that’s all about to be changed in a few days, I for one will stop supporting the game with my money if it is what it seems like, and I’ll seriously consider quitting altogether.
I do not approve it.

Just salvaged 10 rares, got 2 ectos, mystic salvage kit. Very disheartening if u dont use black lion kit u might be in for a bad time.

What Kagari is saying is true please don’t try to discredit that. It’s true that most of the groups are pugs but if you really want to keep running dungeons over and over, specially tough ones like Arah you should def add people that stand out from the rest and start inviting them to your runs if you like them. Since you both know the dungeon better now even if the rest of the team are randoms, the run will be better. Eventually you’ll have enough people to form a good enough group to do a dungeon much faster and with much ease.
I did this mainly with Arah and still run with people I know once in a while, beating the first 3 paths usually in under an hour each, I have no problem helping them if they need another experienced player in their group.
However I pugged the rest of the dungeons, even SE with its bugs, all were randoms, not all were 80s still managed to do it, so no, I don’t really think you need to form experienced groups to beat the dungeons, but they will help clearing one regularly better.

On a side note, the fact that there is no waypoints in this path is a joke. Quite frankly this path is one of the worst pieces of content I’ve come across in Guild Wars 2; it is really in a sorry state that is not suitable for a live build.
You gotta try Arah Path 1 lol, you’ll come to realize how nice this waypoint is compared to the ones there ;o

Sounds fair I’m convinced, mainly because of the staff skills on toughness and the cheap runes. what I wonder is the duration on these condition builds, Since there’s no points into power at all, do the conditions suffer greatly or can you easly get sup to 25 stacks and sort of keep it up there?

Probably not, considering other servers have been bugged since release and no word on this as of yet amongst other things, it just doesn’t seem to be on the priority list, best thing you can do is group up with people from other servers and hope their door is open or wait for a patch/servers reset.

This is indeed unacceptable, I would have probably quit if Arah was bugged in my server because Dungeon Master and the Arah gear is what has kept me interested on the game.

On the PUG group I was we just smashed him down as soon as we started the dungeon, ignoring the adds. We did die afterwards but then rezzed and ran to the gate for 2nd boss.

This problem has been acknowledged by Anet and hopefully it’s a fix in the November patch, though don’t put your hopes up, there’s just so much to fix in all areas of the game + they are adding content.

@ Savan when I was running a toughness condition build I noticed mobs/bosses would go after me more in dungeons, will need to test it out again. I know about the Superior Runes of the Undead I’ve tried this on PvP, good damage but duration not so much, I guess more into Spite might make it work better, i was just thrown off by the price on these runes on the TP. I would’ve thought they would be worth way more if this was really the way to go.

Did path 1 on the weekend it wasn’t so bad took about an hour. Just remember in the beginning to rush the golem boss, then rush the turrets, no need to kill any inquests or w/e they called, then fight at gate however some might have aggroed on you so kill any remaining or if u die hopefully someone has a revive orb it’d help a lot, but you can still run back anyway.
Yes one shouldn’t have to do this but if you really need to do the path before the next fix…

Mainly for PvE builds
I see many people posting about items with precision condition damage and toughness. I know toughness is pretty good but it also makes some monsters focus on you (like lupicus). A necro can be tanky, but with a condition build you won’t have many escape tools at hand and such, which is why I wonder, why not bring power instead or vitality with condition damage, this will prevent you from having focus fire on you while you dish out conditions in dungeons.

It’s not the same eye, the eye in the catacombs is a different one, legendary mob and when beat a splendid chest appears, this event doesn’t appear to be as farmed as others either usually empty so it might be, I guess we should just give it sometime to farm to see if it actually drops it.
I think if Final Rest was actually craftable we would’ve already seen one on TP by now.

Running all arah exp modes, paths 1,2,3 done in less than a hr. Path 4 a little more but its no problem also, got pros on it and ready to go just send me a pm or leave me a message all prices negotiable.

So what’s the deal with cond/prec/toughness gear, i see many people thinking it’s the best for a necro, why the toughness though? is it because of the staff traits or the undead rune that goes with it? I know that in PvE dungeons having too much toughness will cause mobs to aggro on you more.

Good to hear a response on this, the only other thing that really needs to be fixed is CM story mode bugs at the end so it can’t be completed.

I wouldn’t really complain about this, you have #4 dagger skill that transfers conditions on hit, plague signet, #4 mark that transfer conditions to enemies, well that remove conditions, Remove a condition when in deathshroud death minor trait, so that’s an additional one every 10 secs, 5 secs if you have the grandmaster Soul reaping trait. Healing utility that eats all your conditions and grants you health for them. Minions that remove conditions every 10secs.
Conditions on me are the least of my worries as a Necromancer I’m usually more worried about avoiding burst damage.

it’s been brought up for more than a week, no word yet on it or a fix, it’s quite saddening that this issue hasn’t been addressed along with other bugs that pretty much prevent some dungeons from being completed having people waste hours of their time with no compensation whatsoever, not even an official reply, nothing.

i blame the mad king event, hopefully after its over we see faster updates and bug fixes, arah is too risky too run because of this progress blocking bugs that will just make you waste your time. let’s just hope there’s no turkey event or we’re doomed.
