Charrs make great necros. If you like mass condition spreading through epidemic and seeing enemies melt down go necro.

There shud be an option to explode them. I also never had this problem when I ran arah, i think if you’re too close to lup it will attack him and grubs will then spawn on horrors, this is actually very worrysome now that horrors live three times as long.

Well as a thief I wouldn’t stealth at all during this fight, or group stealth. Its known for resetting the fight.

when the players return to the room try to keep him as far from entrance as possible, it is known that he resets specially with lower number of people around him, it’s a known issue but hasn’t been fixed yet.

Hey guys, I have a level 54 guardian who I will probably finish leveling through dungeons since my last alt was leveld through zone completion, I’m wondering what some good builds are to best support my team and improve their survival and my own.

If there’s any good guides out there let me know, if not feel free to post your build and how you use it + weapons, utilities and elites you use. Though I have a dungeon master title I really don’t have much experience with guardian.

I’ll participate, I’ll take a good player with full appropriate exotics over a good player with full mf gear.

I don’t really think there’s a problem, it’s pretty normal for people to just get bored with a game after a while, specially after putting over 500 hrs into it.

No matter how you put it, you always lose out on a good stat that potentially benefits your survival/damage/group for a selfish stat that only benefits your drops.

This is very interesting. I am about to put my MF set together, and was already wondering when I should or should not wear it. I definitely intend to wear it as I work on world completion, and when I farm Cursed Shore.

What’s the MF etiquette when grouped for dungeons or Fractals? Can I wear some pieces, like a mixed set? Half normal gear, half MF? What about food. If I’m not supposed to wear MF gear for the dungeon, can I still eat a Peach Tart (26%MF) while doing the dungeon?

I know people’s opinions will differ, I’m just testing the waters with this question, before I mistakenly turn into a leecher.

Well the more MF you wear the more you’ll affect your group so it’s up to you and how good the group is, I’m totally against MF gear, I tried leeching but just couldn’t bring myself to it knowing how much I could contribute with my actual set.

I’d probably kick people with MF gear that die a lot(easiest way to know they have some) or if they have sigil of luck I’d probably kick right away as soon as I find out and find another, MF food itself is fine since plenty of pugs don’t even use food for stat boost however this will put an eye on you having possible MF gear.

This is of course speaking about dungeons, Don’t really care what people wear any other place.

I hit the 1000 hr mark not long ago too, though I spend most of my time last 2 months just afking in lions arch just checking my black lion transactions every hour or 2 and troll a bit.

I’d make final rest a legendary (since it’s probably bugged anyway) Add green death shroud aura around it and animation on the pattern and have the gargoyle wings move, on top of that attack could turn specific attacks into a gargoyle flying towards its target leaving a trail on the ground (instead of grasping hand for necro) and it would leave a green death shroud trail on the ground as you walk with a possible a view into the underworld.

Of course this is with necro in mind.

This was posted on reddit by an actual magic find user who disagrees with the system, hopefully this reaches the game designers and finally makes them change their philosophy at least regarding MF gear in dungeons.

I am a magic find leech. I don’t expect this post will be very popular, but I just want the issue to be brought to light. Being a magic find leech means that I wear full magic find gear ( with pirate runes, opal jewelry, the works) in dungeons, specifically I run a lot of Fractals of the Mists, even at high fractal levels. I’m a leech because I do significantly less damage when I run my magic find gear compared with my non-MF normal exotic gear, so I slow down the run for everyone else, meaning less money per hour for them, but more money per hour for me. My MF gear isn’t even all exotic (some of the pieces are even green, since they give the same amount of magic find).

I’m not the only one. There are others like me, although you’d never know unless they’re blatant enough to run Sigil of Luck. I at least have the tact to run a different sigil, unless I see someone else running SoL, in which case I feel justified switching to my SoL weapon. There are no damage or healing or tanking meters in this game, and there’s no way to inspect, so with transmutating a magic find leech is identical to a respectable player.

Why do I leech? Because even though I slow down the dungeon run by wearing MF gear, I get much better drops. So let’s say I get loot 15% slower, but the loot is 60% better, well overall that’s a win for me, even if it’s a lose for the rest of my party.

This is exactly the set-up of the prisoners dilemma. I don’t know what thought-process led the designers to create a game where leeching is the dominant strategy, but I imagine there wasn’t much thinking involved at all when the designers created the loot system.

I think the system is stupid, but until it’s fixed I will keep on leeching. Why should I forgo better loot when there could be other people in the party who are leeching and I wouldn’t even know? It makes me a bad person, yes, and I’ll probably get downvoted for speaking the truth, but why does the game even allow people to be leeches? Much less ENCOURAGE them to leech? Even diablo III at least averages the MF stat for your party. Magic Find is one of the many aspects of the game where it seems that Anet didn’t bother learning from history, or they would have discovered what a horrible idea the magic find stat is.

They did re-design it so what you played was it, it used to be worse, I doubt they will again they really messed up the last fight, after how dissapointing the story gets after level 30 I was hoping it would make a comeback with the last fight, of course I was wrong.

Zhaitan and Trahearne are just the worst.

Personally I think it’s bugged and the devs don’t know about it heck they might’ve even forgot this thing was actually made to be in the game , I’m hoping they’ll see these threads about it and take a look at it because let’s face it, if it actually did drop in game someone would actually have it by now.

First off I enjoy the elementalist so i decided to make it my next alt to 80, All the attunement swapping and I quite enjoy the support the staff provides.

I’m wondering what’s the best way to go from 1-80 without having too much pain, as I have died a couple of times and often take long to kill anything. What’s the best weapon to level? I heard D/D is pretty good, I also need to know what traits I need to invest in first and if there’s any skills you recommend. I’ve played to 80 with a necro, where I used minions and conditions and a warrior where I just HB everything.

So let’s say a simple leveling guide would be great like for example, use D/D. Pick these traits from level x to y. These utilities help out solo play, on higher levels you might need this and these are the skills rotations, etc. etc.

Any advice appreciated.

Yeah, but then when u actually get it you might want to be “done” with fractals, It’s obvious they want everyone to grind fractals and declare it a huge success.

Meanwhile I’m lifeblasting my life away on my necro to gain 1 stack of might for 3 secs.

I am aware that you can switch weapons thank you but this is not viable as you might get stuck in battle for a few minutes before you can switch back to scepter contributing not contributing much to your team.

I agree that the utilities are pretty lackluster, problem is that the necro is made with Death Shroud in mind. Our defensive utilities are mainly sprectal and are very lackluster in terms of boons, it doesn’t help that some of their cooldowns are huge compared to what we get back, if you want to support usually wells are the way to go if you are not going for condition/spreading or vuln stacking.

For example we lack boons greatly, we don’t have a boon with stability and our stunbreaks are not very defensive they just gain life force. we have might with BiP, swiftness with spectral walk and protection with spectral armor. It’s pretty lackluster there. We have 4 almost useless minions and situational signets, that’s 8 utilities that don’t bring much to a team except plague signetand undeath wich is pretty situational.

Therefore we are FORCED to spend trait points in death shroud to gain boons/stability and to eat burst because of our lack of defensive utilities/boons. The bad thing about that is that Death Shroud gets eaten fast/we don’t start with a full bar and sometimes we are forced to use it defensively limiting our builds but that’s another topic.

Wells cooldown is not very worth it, 60(48) sec cooldown for 5 secs of blindness and 5 sec of cond removal? not very worth it imo, but then again in a dungeon we don’t bring much else to our team beside condition management.

Can you do something about it, it’s embarrassing when the time comes in a dungeon to destroy objects and I’m left using every skill in my arsenal to get halfway done with mine while everyone else has destroyed 4 objects each.

They just want the meta-game to settle before making any huge changes, they are aware of the bugs and are actively working on them as you have seen many have been fixed, like DS trait line actually works now, also Many devs and I are worried about how strong necros will be once players have mastered Death Shroud.

I’m rocking Arah armor with scythe skin looks pretty great noobs always compliment you and it’s not overly used like CoF because not everyone can do arah exp. I just saw that scepter looks pretty cool I might just get it.

Ah ok thanks for the replies, looks like there’s not much reason to progress to the higher levels then at least until additional ascended pieces are added.

I read in the updates that they were going to drop better rewards the higher the level you go, what I’m asking is how is the drop rate in higher fractals after 30? More rings? More rares/exotics? More Fractal weapons? Is it worth it?

As a guy that’s leveling all classes I’ve found Mesmers the slowest so far, it’s great on PvP and probably once all traits are unlocked but the first 40 levels are pretty slow.

Making them non-tradable is a really underhanded move to score some extra cash. Taking them out of reach astounds me. I mean even the Rytlock Mini is a sure thing if you upgrade to CE.

I’ll clear this up, if you want sure infused ring when it actually drops do 26 and beyond. If you want a chance at both, do 20-24.

Saw that they made rangers pets smarter now so I was wondering if it affected minions, for those of you minion masters how’s it looking are your minions pwning more? I noticed the jagged horror lives more and usually attacks target, so now at jade maw he’s sure to get chosen since he lives twice as long.

Not really, all you need is shards which drop on higher levels and turn them into globs/vials you need.
