When I started the game and got my Arah gear (first set) I went for the berserker stats instead of conditions, I enjoyed the gameplay for a while and I still love the look more than Twilight.
I recently got a warrior to level 80 and now realize the difference in damage between a berserker warrior and a berserker necro is huge, to the point where I mainly play condition with my necro which is still a lot of fun. I mainly find myself using the Twilight set (Because of the stats) But I will never forget the time and work I took to get these two sets.
I can simply buy gear from the tp and transmute the stats, however this will cost me about 30g with today’s prices and I’m by no means rich as I spent my time doing dungeons back when the rewards were not so great, either way I was planning on spending the money to get a berserker set for my warrior cause i don’t really feel like farming arah again.
I’m not playing as much as I used to, don’t want to farm gold, just want to rock the Arah set when I do login and play, what ya’ll think?

What makes it even more depressing is that their bleeding is weaker than our actual bleeds, so instead of doing 130-140 ticks they do 80-90.

I got an other question. I am currently at FoM lvl 40+ and agony resistance is useless at this point. I have 30 resistance and all the bags I need. What do I do with my 3k fractal relics? They are taking alot of space in my bank xD
Spend them on skillpoints and become rich(er)

Since we are talking about speed here, Spectral walk is bugged not sure if mentioned before.
If you have another skill on cooldown and u switch an available utility for spectral walk, spectral walk will copy the other skill cooldown, this has happened to me with signet of undeth, only to switch my nice and ready to go utility to spectral walk on like a 120 sec cooldown im like damnit, now I have 2 skills on a long cd.

Nice information you all have given and interesting builds, Ace/Mace warrior build that was linked seems like a pretty good deal, I’m pretty good at avoiding attacks and staying at melee range on some bosses (Hammer boss on arah, twilight 1st boss) So i’ll make sure to take advantage of the warriors great melee damage when possible. So many interesting weapons like Axe, Hammer, Mace it’ll be fun trying them out see how they work. From what I’ve seen though it seems like Rifle seems like a must for a lot of builds, makes sense though.

Spark is a dagger? I’m not sure if rangers can equip daggers if they can then it might be staged, if not then he probably did get from chest.

Personally I’ll be quitting the game after this patch if they don’t fix the DC issue because that would just be unacceptable and just plain kittening with people. I already stopped buying gems with the november patch because of a change in their philosophy, such a great game it’s a shame the way it’s turning

So….my group and I attempted Arah on explore for the 2nd time, tonight. The first time was about a month ago, and we wiped over and over on the Lupicus, and just gave up.
Fast forward a month later to tonight, we’re wearing excellent equipment, and read over numerous guides on how to beat him. Group consisted of a mesmer, ranger, 2 necromancer, and a warrior, and we do path 3. We fly through the content, easy breezy. Time for the battle with Lupicus. We get pass the 1st phase on every single attempt, no issues whatsoever, we kill the grubs and DPS him down quickly. Phase 2 begins, and also the wipes begin. The AOE’s on the ground magically hit you even when you aren’t inside them, and this is the biggest issue. We wiped 8 times, and we eventually stopped. On the last wipe, he magically reset in the middle of the fight when he was at approximately 60% hp, and returned to full health (no, no one left the arena or his vicinity).
How do you beat this boss? We followed the guides and everything, it just seems impossible and unnecessarily difficult—especially with the AOE’s that somehow always hit you when you are outside their boundaries.
IF the circles on the ground are the biggest problem then try to stay at max range at all times, if you are not an expert at it this will be the only choice for now, Personally if you are not the focus of the boss you only got 2 things to worry about phase 2, the aoe circle and the random single target attack and lastly if he randomly decides to shadowstep towards you. When the circles start appearing his animation is very clear and its time to run away from them (never towards) you have a second or so after the circle appears before the hit actually hits so don’t use up all your dodges on it.
There’s some skills that help for your particular group, You have 2 necros, they should be using Death shroud while running from circles, death shroud when they single target attack goes toward them, this is in case your evasion of the circles/dodge fail, with signet of undeth and staff auto attack they should never run low on DS, they should also use the worm minion and place it in a safe place at the edge of the area, this is to teleport away from any danger. Warrior has shield that can block attacks, endure pain, stability and other useful abilities, I think they have it a little easier. Mesmer you have blink/portals (I don’t know if missile reflection works on lupi but if it does GG) and as a ranger you can be at even a greater range.
I think a problem might be that the person who lupicus focuses on might just be dying too fast on phase 2 and this is a problem because the less people on lupicus the harder it becomes to avoid his attacks, with signet of undeth and the warbanners, you should be able to rez people that are the best at avoiding the attacks when they go down.
Consider building optimal towards this fight, Necros shud invest in soul reaping here because of 25% slower DS rate, increase LF pool, Stability on DS and Move faster while in DS are all great traits to have on lup, signets recharge faster, minions recharge faster etc. seems like this fight is the only problem so you want to come best prepared. The only exception would be Simis on path 4 which instead you want to build for DPS (Don’t think it’s been fixed)
Lastly never stand right beside the person that Lupicus is focusing on, specially if shadowstepping it’s very dangerous to stay close together and you will go down fast this way. If he’s on you try to move away from people not towards them.

Hello fellow warrior players
I finally got my warrior alt to 80 and will start running dungeons with it, however I’m no expert on this class and throughout leveling I just 100b smashed everything, I started with signet builds because of 100% crit chance but as I leveled it wasn’t that useful and started using skills like for great justice and shake it off more along with frenzy and signet of rage.
Anyway I’m not sure about the whole defense/tactics line and what’s the best way to support my team so any tactics, traits and if possible to keep some damage, either way I will get a berserker set but I was also thinking of knight’s set for a more support build when needed.
For the record I have a dungeon master Title, I’ve gone full berserk/full cond damage with my necro so I’m no complete noob at encounters. Will read your replies in the morning ty

Hey folks!
Here’s the update. I talked with folks about the discrepancy between the defensive Simple Infusion and Versatile Simple Infusion cost differences and application, and we all came to the conclusion that a more fair vendor solution is the following:
-Remove the Simple Infusion for defensive slots from the vendor (currently costs 75 tokens)
-Lower the cost of the Versatile Simple Infusion to 75 tokens (from 225).Since the versatile can fill both the defensive/offensive slots, we found this to be the least confusing resolution to the problem. There won’t be any refunds (to my knowledge) to the people who bought the Versatile Simple Infusion for 225 tokens.
Well some good news, when will this be implemented? I was saving up for offensive slot but guess now I’ll wait, though the +5 resistance I need would be nice.

I REALLY hope this is fixed by the 14th, by then it will be 1 month after the issue the dungeon was introduced and this issue has been present. I don’t care who’s working on what this is a MAJOR issue that hasn’t been corrected, if this is not fixed by then then I will probably quit this game and move on to another one where major problems are quckly addressed.

Remember to play accordingly, I switch a lot of utilities and elite depending on the dungeon and boss, same with the occ traits. You’ll be a lot more useful that way rather to sticking with just specific utilities.
At the moment I’m running 30 in blood because of the broken cliffside fractal where vampiric traits actually hit the seal, it’s very handy in this case to siphon anyway you can.

I’ve been playing necro for a while, right now I’m using 0/30/20/20/0 as a condition/support build.
Traits I use are increased bleeding duration, wells are ground targeted, increased scepter cond duration. I switch these sometime with corruptions recharging faster/blind also chills foes.
Death trait line, Marks radius is increased and they are unblockable.
Blood Line I use leave mark of blood when dodging and well whenever you revive an ally/wells recharge faster.
This build uses staff/scepter-dagger
Utilities are BiP/Signet of Undeth/Epidemic however I switch very often depending on what the enemies do and the support that needs to brought, so I also switch these between all wells, well of darkness and power are pretty good options, same with well of corruption.
Elite usually Plague because of the AOE blind and tankiness it offers it can save your group’s life when you aggro too many mobs. Lich form when you know plague won’t be used like ice boss in fractals or dredge/elemental boss.
Runes I use superior of undeath because of toughness/cond damage, Sigil on staff I use sup sigil of curroption, scepter 60% bleed chance on crit, dagger (gain might when switching to weapon). Gear I use rabid gear.

Don’t worry guys, next patch will fix the exploit where lifesteal hits the seal then we’ll be trully kittened!
This is why that post about exploits worried me, because they were more likely to fix the exploits and cause more trouble than fix what was blocking progression in the first place, but that’s what we get for playing fair, maybe soon you all will learn. I’ve done dungeons for quite a while and have dungeon master title, I know all the bugs and exploits around dungeons (Can do 3 paths of Arah in 30 mins each because of it) But I don’t bother reporting because of the way the players are treated and the way things are handled.

Sorows Embrace path 1 – what about that insane mob spawn at first boss…. more than month and no group able to do this i want finish my achivement this year…..
Nothing is wrong about Sorrow’s Embrace path 1; actually it’s even one of the most enjoyable dungeons, we do it very often. Just get a strong enough team and rush first golem boss and then skip your way to the next one. The foes won’t cross your way once you reach there.
Regarding patch, good that AC got fixed I suppose but Arah Jotun path is still often bugged and you can’t receive reward.
Sure nothing’s wrong when the first objective is to defeat the incoming waves of inquest and well, the waves never stop.

Have you read what a dev has posted, they have the most massive update for january and february, expect minor old content fix, and lot of new content that will remain unfixed (except for exploits that make it easier ofc)

I think it’s sad that things that make the fractals go faster are fixed (dredge backdoor/seal) and the bugs that prevent a player from continuing (DC, stuck in other maps) are left as last priority.

Don’t forget about the most important one, the door to Arah won’t open on some server or some bugs preventing the door to open, if you can’t figure what it is just have it permanently opened until you do.

Twice if you do lvl 10 and 20, and unlucky people like me should because the rng gods and odds are against us, this could take anywhere from 2-4 hrs a day which is my total gaming time after I get home fromw ork, I’d rather do what I want however after getting so far I feel compelled to at least get a ring, even after that it will probably not be the stats I want therefore I’d have to do it again and again = grind
You know, you don’t HAVE to grind for the rings. You’re perfectly efficient without them, if you’re a good player.
Sure I’m perfectly efficient laying on the ground at Jade Maw waiting on a rez after I die helplessly.

ascended items are ridiculous, hopefully when they add accessories, amulets, weapons and armor they reconsider the amount of grind and rng to gain them because if you don’t start working on them soon, you’ll be in for a ride in trying to get an ascended set, this is just another reason why people never wanted ascended changing stats in the first place. If it was cosmetic I’d have no problem with it and more than welcome it.

I got a offensive infusion slot ring but dont wanna put a offensive infusion cause its expensive and the rings got horrible stats, can i put a defensive infusion into it anyway? the agony resistance would help on lvl 20 jade maw i guess instead of getting 1 shot, but if its offensive only then i wont bother with it.

IMO should be 500 for ascended rings, 1500 for infused rings, Weapons 3000-5000 respectively, essenses should also be attainable via tokens.

I’ve been doing fractals since day 1, reached level 20, and have been doing both 10 and 20 dailies. I have still NOT gotten a single ring whereas everytime I see people complaining about getting the same rings when I run with them, it is extremely dissapointing that this system was implemented, I’m reaching a point where I just log in and do these dailies for the slightest hope, but that hope is fading away and soon i will just quit trying altogether.
I loved how the older dungeons worked, how every completed run was a step towards your progress and your dungeon set, and knowing that your hard work paid off and was not random, this is the game I paid for, earning exotic sets for my chars and not having to worry about trying to get an item based on luck for days and days, or having to farm for an item for hours for those 50 ectos and 250 mats. That was legendary and special weapons of which I did not care of because they were simply cosmetic.
I was a paying customer, every month I supported Anet with purchases from the cash shop, then this new grinding for this new tier of gear was introduced and I stopped to watch and see what it was all about, now I see what it was all about, and I don’t like it.
i’m reaching the quitting point, I just don’t enjoy the fractals anymore and quitting them now empty handed might as well quit altogether.

It’s true that rewards are better in the fractals, even the chests are improved and actual tokens drop from them which should be like this in all dungeons (Not MF based drops from bosses like it is in the other dungeons)
But more importantly the rewards in other dungeons are only skins, why not crafting materials also? or slot boxes? We are kind of forced to only run this dungeon :/

Would be great to get a response from the Dev’s on this. It is a Broken mechanic that detracts from our gameplay. You can’t spin it any other way. I will be checking on thread each morning.
