Anet is working against the normal behavior of humans. In general humans are “herd” animals – they want to go where the most other humans are because that is the safest. In games if there are large numbers that means killing mobs easier/faster. Therefore zerg.

Recently Anet has introduced a counter-intuitive mechanic: more people does not = easier/faster killing. Sure, very experienced players will pick up on this quickly and easily. But in this case most players are at the FESTIVAL to have quick and easy fun, not to work hard like they are doing a dungeon or fractal. I go to the neighborhood street festival to have lighthearted fun. I can’t think of a single type of festival in the world where people have to do a lot of planning/strategy.

Leave the heavy strategy for the Living World, not for Festivals.

Well theres this street football event thats held every year in my city. It requires a bit of organization and teamwork. Its a PvP event though so maybe that doesnt count.

I suspect that boat has been stuck there for many a year but is still being used as a base of operations.

From what I understand, the Nightmare Court (NMC) are not inherently evil. They are a group of Sylvari that wish to break the newer generations of Sylvari and the Pale Tree away from the teachings of the Ventari Tablet which are mostly “lawful good” type teachings. The ultimate goal of the NMC is probably a “True Neutral” aligned Pale Tree and Sylvari race. Thus in order to do this, they feel that they need to balance the lawful good influences of the Tablet on the dream with both chaos and evil to eventually reach a state of true neutral throughout the dream.

On the otherhand I don’t think soundless care about this at all. They don’t care so much for the “fate” of the Stlvari race (like the NMC). As such most probably follow its teachings as they are born ewith it etc. What they care for though is simply to not be influenced, by, nor influence the dream.

Seems more like Soundless are Neutral since they try to cut themselves off from the Good vs Evil stuff. If anyone’s still interested in this, the link below explains it quite well.

Sylvari have the parts, I do remember that being a quote from one of the Anet staff members (I’d have to do a lot of digging to find it, which I’m not really up for), but they don’t function for reproduction.

Regardless, sylvari are all individuals and have a sentience of their own. The majority sexuality of the sylvari species, if I remember correctly, is pansexuality… but, as with humans, I imagine there are many different individuals who would easily deviate from that and develop their own personal preferences. Admittedly, I rather figure that — by and large — they aren’t a particularly sexual group since it holds little to no purpose for them (aside from pleasure). But as they are sentient individuals, some might have developed a fondness for it (maybe they really enjoy it? Maybe they find it’s easier to connect on a deeper, more intimate level with someone? And from there can branch off different preferences [and some might have personal preferences even before then, such as just not enjoying the idea to begin with]).

I wouldn’t say that there’s no line of succession, just that the succession is clearly unfavorable. I don’t think there’s any question that in the absence of a royal, power would default to the Ministry, and that as head of the Ministry and champion of the nobles, Caudecus would receive the lion’s share of that power. Thing is, Caudecus is kinda a prick, and there’s nothing Jennah can do about that. She could designate an heir, I suppose, but without the blood royal, anyone she picked would have no legitimacy once she was gone, or so the Ministry would insist as they executed their coup. Producing an heir the natural way is a similar non-starter: any kid of Jennah’s would only get the rule if they were an adult when she died, otherwise the Ministry gets the regency and we get back once again to Caudecus being in charge.

The line of succession if Jennah were to die while Logan is slaying Krat is Jennah -> Ministry starts trying to put Caudecus on the throne -> Logan, as leader of the Seraph, and declares Martial Law. Then they go to the Ascalon Catacombs, get Logan a fiery sword, and through the Right of Awesome, Dragonslaying, and Owning a Fancy Sword, becomes King of Kryta and Ascalon (This really is a right – just ask King Arthur).

With the fame and prestige from slaying the dragon, few would question Logan’s rightful rise to power. With him claiming the throne of Ascalon through his alliance with Charr, the Foefire gets dispelled, freeing up valuable alliance forces – And, there would be plenty of space for the Charr and Humans to share Ascalon and Kryta. Anyone dissenting with Logan’s rise to power in spite of his awesomeness answers to the Seraph and Blood Legion enforcers. If any Charr object to the alliance, or if Rytlock’s superiors take issue with the change in power, that is similarly revised and corrected – Destiny’s Edge acquires whatever trinket’s required to get Rytlock recognized as Khan Ur, and the might of DE destroys any opposition to Rytlock’s ascension.

Careful, you might give them ideas for an Infinity Ball inspired April Fools.

I’m also curious as to why there are no tengu Zaephyrites. We’ve seen sylvari, norn, asuran and primarily human zephyrites, but no tengu? It just kinda seemed like a race that valued trade so much would have some involvement in these two trading bodies. This is one time I hope the game is just not showing us the tengu and they are actually on one of the ships we don’t see, but when the time comes, tengu do show up at the Bazaar (there’s always next time, we really need some tengu characters in this story, even if the game isn’t ready to go beyond the wall, I wouldn’t mind meeting a female tengu).

Have we? I was running through the Labyrinthine Cliffs yesterday and after a while I was noting that all Zephyrites or Strangers were all human. Sure, there’s some named NPCs of the various races aboard the Zephyr Sanctum, but I don’t think they’re Zephyrites and instead just festival attendees.

So, I was wondering if the Zephyrites are all-human? Just curious.

Theres some ambient NPC dialogue on board of Zephyr Sanctum where a Sylvari named Aerin is joining the Zephyrites.

You will still need them to level your crafting.

I did it with Subject 7 using healing bombs. Was able to just stand there and spam bombs until he dies. Not sure of the exact build since it was last year but I believe I also took Healing turret and Elixir gun, probably Elixir B for the last slot but would probably take a blast finisher if I do it again. For traits, I know I took Backpack Regen and Elixir infused Bombs, not sure about the rest.

Thanks for jogging my memory, can confirm this method worked last year. I had a thumper turret somewhere in there as well.

Have we seen any Kodan interact with the Zephyrites, or know their opinions on eachother? The way the Master of Peace was talking in the instance reminded me of a Kodan talking about balance, and it made me wonder if the Kodan judged the Zephyrites higher than the average human. Similar architecture too, come to think of it.

Doobroosh is easiest for this I think, get a lot of hp and condition dmg.

Did the fight again today, berserker gear S/D, Sylvari take root elite, Arcane shield, Fire/Air signet, earth’s embrace. Specced to max in earth (stability on switching to earth) and fire (standard dmg traits), and 2 in water for reduced cooldown on cantrips. If you can get some condis on her you still do dmg while CC’d.

Elementalist with Earth’s embrace (utility and traited) and berserker gear seems like a logical choice. Maybe focus for the invulnerability if you think you’ll need it. I vaguely remember beating her on my ele, but that was a year ago so I’m probably not much help. Hated her though, took a while.

Again, just look at probably the most hyped about MMO game that is soon to come out, ArcheAge. The game is created by original Lineage creators. And I’ve got to tell you this: Lineage was the most complete, the most complex, original and the most demanding MMO I have ever played. Still my No. 1.

We will see what the market brings in the nearest future. The simplicity of GW2’s one of the issues I have with the game, unfortunately.

Hahahaa farm enough BLTC keys and you see, twins, triplets of npcs all wearing the same clothes literally all standing next to each other. It really makes the whole thing look VERY lazy. At least change their clothes!

I have not crunched the numbers myself, but the consensus opinion seems to be that investing in healing power as a trait line is a joke. That’s the only thing I’d like to see addressed: if somebody really invests in healing power, make it worth their while some how.

Elementalists often trait into the healing power traitline, but that’s because the vitality and the traits in that line are good.

I’m mostly stressing this because I’ve read some information regarding the Order armor that your character receives..It wouldnt be such a big deal to me if the Order armor was strictly appearance based, but from what I’ve read they each provide their own specific stats. My Warrior won’t benefit much from Whisper armor…I still have my Reward screen up, I haven’t even chosen a reward for the quest yet. I tried to die, play PvP games, do Event quests, but the reward screen stays up…I dont want to have to start a new character over something so silly as a misclick.

Edit: Especially given the fact that I’m a paying customer, who plans to sink more money into this game.

The only relevant difference is the appearances of the armor. Theyre only rares anyway, so you will have to replace them sooner or later. That paying customer line is great XD

I recently got my necro to 80 and I decided to get started on building for WvW/PvE with a focus on condition/maybe hybrid damage. I hear krait runes got buffed in the feature patch, are they a good choice? Any builds I might want to check out?
