A lil bit off topic but.
1)Yes, the Charr and Norn get along very well.
2)Please, Anet, don’t make Braham fall for Rox. I don’t think I could take the storyline seriously anymore.
Braham becomes good friends with Faren and starts wearing speedos
All the stuff about the wardrobe was an elaborate April Fools joke
So is it normal that the Royal Terrace portal drops you in the middle of ruined LA instead of Vigil Keep?
It’s a nice little thing to put in, but Im a little annoyed that all my chars tell her they were there during the fire at the Queen’s Heart Orphanage when only my necro was there for his PS.
Yeah, I got one of those sliver things from my PvP dailies. Arent these useless now? Shouldnt they have been removed?
More emotes, obviously.
This is not specific to EOTM, but for the life of me I cannot understand why I cannot launch cows with a catapult in WvW. If nothing else, it should be in treb mastery.
Fetchez La Vache!
Dont trebs fire dead cows?
Did you see her Body in the end? The Orange stripes? Either it was already decomposing OR her death allowed Mordremoth to corrupt her or take over her body in some way.
They didn’t take her corpse with them so… its all open…
Somewhere Im hoping Rox took a part to show Rytlock.
Well I like it.
Well heres an idea. If melee isnt working out for you , use ranged.
Aetherblades are the kings and queens of CC, that much is true. Toxic Alliance condi spam is a bit heavy as well.
Yeah, and my main is a Sylvari ele! This cant be a coincidence!
This main protagonist – the guy who saves us all from Zhaitan – is a sylvari. The main antagonist – the biggest threat since Abadon – is a sylvari. The first elder dragon added to the game since launch looks to be tied to the sylvari. The sylvari starting zone has as many jumping puzzles as all other starting zones combined. And before Lion’s Arch fell, the sylvari portal stood higher than the rest. Can you tell the devs really like the sylvari?
omg yes… I’m SO.. SICK.. of Sylvari… And it looks like we’re gonna have an entire PS revolving around the Sylvari. Ok, we get it Anet, you love them. you don’t have to make a game that revolves around them.
To add insult to injury, the 2nd most played race: Norn has gotten the least focus of anyone since launch. of course Brahm is the least developed, wimpy of the new DE even though he’s the race that should be the strongest (although they retconned that). So much personal bias in the writing.
For the Living Story at least, that’s only because we happened to get Mordremoth first. Expect heavy emphasis on the Asura when we go after Primordus, Norn when we go after Jormag, etc. Hang in there. Your race of choice will get its day.
we’ve already had a focus on the Sylvari. Now we get another Sylvari story? How long do you expect people to “Hold in there”? 4 years?
Sylvari are the only race that do not have a lot of GW1 material backing up their lore and appearances, and considering how new they are, they need all the attention they can simply get.
Oh please.. the Norn still have less lore than the Sylvari. Jora. that’s their whole contribution to the lore. They even made sure to ad dialog mocking the breaking of Jormags tooth. Just so they could play down the importance. They are dumber than all the other races, they aren’t even as strong as the Charr anymore, they have almost no magical abilities(& the shaman’s are meaningless now that Scarlet & the Asura could just pop in & out of the mists willy nilly), they can’t even craft as well as the Sylvari now. It’s laughably obvious the people writing just don’t like the Norn that much & love the syvari & they’ve made sure to make them the most throw-away race in the game.
My math is not the best, but unless I miscalculate something I would say that there were way more non-Sylvari involved in the defeat of Zhaitan than there were Sylvari.
Maybe you can explain how # of each race = focus? Because there is more focus on Trehearn though all the story than any single person.
Well, the Norn ARE pretty one-dimensional.
Use stability?
Yes I think Sylvari lore-wise are capable of changing their appearance. Canach (living story character) changed his appearance drastically from fresh green to grim grey pigment, “hair” and even face. There are also some NPC’s in Caledon forest who changed their appearance to look like Nightmare courtiers so they can spy on them.
Theres also an NPC that transforms you into a Sylvan hound.
Necromancers in general were pretty funny during Escape from LA. “I am Death, and I am here to save you!”
I like Sylvari, theyre great. Stop playing a monkey!
I had no idea what you were even talking about.. until I realized you horribly misspelled sylvari.
At least he didnt spell it Slyvari.
Because the flow was interrupted so he got less magic.
Trolls allowed under "play how you want"?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

Yes, trolling is allowed. If he wants to play a suicidal guy, he can do that. And hey, if at first you dont succeed, try try try again!
The event lasts longer version than that, so its normal you dont get the mechanics (though theyre quite simple). Red field gives red buff that lets you damage red assault knight and red hologram, blue lets you damage blue, green lets you damage green. If you get all three colors, you have prime light attunement that lets you board Scarlet’s ship and damage the prime hologram (you need to regularly refresh yiur buffs though).
Admit it, you forgot to loot Scarlet's chest
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

What chest?
Seriously though, how can you not see it? Its this big, obvious thing thats right there.
Its very simple. Make the logout timer shorter (its like what, 20 mins right now outside of minigames?).
I wouldnt know, I dont use blocks.
We’re obviously keeping an eye on Scarlet while the others occupy themselves with the wounded.
I seem to be experiencing the same problem that Thighum is. I am using an Elementalist and mist form helps up to a point, but then I’m randomly knocked back and interrupted without any warning.
I feel like I’m getting closer every time, but it would make things much less frustrating if I could skip the cut scene on retries. I enjoyed it once, but now…
Use Armor of Earth.
Turns out its just a different big creature like a Leviathan or something, and not Mordremoth
Theres the newlyweds in Ascalon Settlement in Gendarran Fields that come outside for the first time in days and then go back in after a few seconds.
My favorite hetero relationship in the game is the bandit man and the seraph woman, hidden away. I don’t remember where it is, but when I found it I sat with them for a while.
Harathi Hinterlands
[SPOILERRR] He accomplished the most so far I believe. Cleansing Orr and all…
Or isn’t Cleansed, have you been there lately? It’s nasty.
Thats for gameplay reasons, Anet is scared to change things up.
they said after the end of the living story season one they were gonna take a break to give out a lot of living quality improvements. maybe this is one of them.
Doubtful as any Anet dev that plays the game can always get into the main server so it doesn’t really affect them does it, I was stuck in OF for 7 hours yesterday, a friend guested over to my server was in the same OF and 10 mins later it popped for them to join main server, they did, and they where in the main server of my world not there own, so guests can get into main servers but people native to them worlds cannot, so I was stuck in an OF server hoping that events would get completed, ( as many others where too )
I hope whoever decided OF was a good idea no longer works for Anet, they should have stuck to the same design as GW1 where it become district 1, 2, 3, 4 etc that allows you to move.
You realise you couldve joined your friend right?
With all due respect, that is something I’m wondering about as well. Scarlet seems very eager to throw her alliances at her enemies, and let them die by the thousands. So why do they continue to work for her? Why don’t they betray her, or fight each other? Why don’t the Krait attack the Aetherblades or Molten Alliance? It kind of stretches the believability of the story.
It’s strange how these mostly selfish and evil groups, conveniently seem to be loyal to a random Sylvari, and with all her plans going off without a hitch. None of the alliances seem to even consider betraying her, which seems out of character. Especially for the Krait.
Ive seen the Toxic alliance attack Watchworks.
Where's all the dark stuff in this chaos?

Squooshed and weird is in Gendarran, dying.
If I don’t have enough cyphers to combine into a key, should I just throw out the remaining pieces I have?
Of course, since there is no way to get them anymore.
Whaat, nooo, Piken is doing great
Then what’s the point of being a commander once this is implemented?
It’s needed on PvE, it’s needed on WvWvW – so people can see where to rally/go.
I think he means turning it off on his own screen, like “Show player names”.
You have to take into consideration the scaling in Guild Wars as well as in other games. What seemed to be a party of 8 people facing off against the Lich Lord in Hell’s Precipice (Guild Wars 1 Prophecies final mission battle) might actually be hundreds or thousands of soldiers, with you being one of them or even as an officer. What seemed to be 150 soldiers dealing with the threat of the Ancient Wurm might actually be hundreds, even thousands of soldiers canonically. Likewise, what seemed to be a single person being rescued might actually represent a whole family or a group of survivors.
Huh. Hells Precipice was a party of 8. I was there. When there needed to be more, there was more, Dzagonur Bastion, Consulate Docks. Battle of Lions Arch GW we had a sizable number of NPC help.
This is the silliest explanation/theory I have ever read. You are saying that all games only show your actions as a microcosm of the actual event, one cog in a cast of hundreds or thousands of unknowns regardless of context?
Really. And “Canon”? You seem to forget the Flameseeker Prophecies. It wasn’t about a cast of thousands. Or hundreds.
I do seem to remember someone mentioning that Guild Wars is often seen through the eyes of an unreliable observer ( people saw the Charr as savage animals because they were enemy invaders, but they are actually highly intelligent and somewhat cultured) and that what you see in game can thus be different from whats going on. I think it mightve been on TVTropes.
Anyone see the range for that rocket item you had to use to get to the vista on the small pillar? It has a range of 500,000 in the tooltip (it’s a typo).
Its always been like that.
Wouldnt surprise me if the Asura that mentions she had to give up her son is Raisinface’s mom.
Now it could be really heart-wrenching if you found the charr that kid was talking to digging and clawing at a collapsed and wrecked building, yelling,
‘Raisin! Come on, say something!’Agreed….
I wish ANet would read this and actually put him in somewhere, if they haven’t already….
Raisin, Where are you?!?!?!?!?!?
Speaking of that, has anyone seen a NPC doing something like this in any of the camps outside of Lion’s Arch? Is there nobody wandering around, hoping that some of their friends and family made it out alive?
While playing my Charr I encountered a human woman that said “Clara? Is that you? I can hardly see anything anymore. I’ve missed you so much!”
And thus I answered, in my deep baritone: “I have to go.”
Does anyone knows the where about of the asura kid that used to say" your face looks funny all squished and weird" dunno if got it right but miss the little brat…
Your face is funny, all squished and wei-
-Explosions and screams-
-Explosions, screams and burns-
Yor face is funny, all squished and weird!
Zypher, if there was anything to the biweekly update – you know, actual content, I’d be thrilled. There’s not.
We have no new builds, because there’s been almost no new skills (two new skills per profession, to be precise – one being the universal heal) There have been no new zones since Southsun. The story is horrible, just bad, and doesn’t really connect with the lore of the GW universe.
So, our biweekly content has brought, for me, nothing at all of value. Just a way to farm AP.
If they’d been adding dungeons with each LS update, and a few new skills per profession, it’d be a different story. As it is, for me, it’s a whole world of fail.
Your name is so appropriate
The RNG becomes self aware?
I could totally write a tale of a rogue/misplaced/escaped Asuran probability weapon that becomes the central threat/nemesis of the plot for 5-6 months.
Just figuring out IF it’s become sapient or not could be a really creepy sequence as it plows across the world tangling up destinies like a kitten with a ball of yarn and way too much enthusiasm…
Remember the Great Golem Uprising of ’84?
Why exactly is this a problem? You think Anet is going to constantly adjust the mats required due to current prices?
Let’s say Damask becomes cheap and Elonian becomes the most expensive in the game.
You think Anet would reverse the recipes then? When should they be reversed? By how much? It opens a pandora’s box.
Just suck it up and be efficient. Use Elonian Square if you are so paranoid about gold.
Bolt of Damask is 100 silk bolts, Elonian leather square is 50 cured thick leather squares. Thats where the problem is.
Ugh…. One of the reasons we dont see Mord’s minions is because he’s not actually confirmed. Its just speculation. Stop making so many “Sylvari are dragon minions!” threads, people.
And so, no event was ever completed again because putting too many people on one map causes horrible lag and breaks the game.
What would your suggestion be though?
Instanced content instead of these open world raids where you end up NOT playing with your friends due to overflows…
If youre in a party you can join your friend by rightclicking their portrait.
I wish people would stop posting this idea already.
You must be new here.
Well, the lake in Kessex is called Lake Viathan, and a leviathan is a great seabeast
I… I think I hate you.
What happens when the Mystic Forge blows up?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Zomaarwat.3912
I’d been pondering what happens when the Mystic Forge gets crushed as well. Although, my thoughts tended to wander more along the lines of:
Will Zommoros be happy or kittened off?
Will he be thankful to Scarlet, in turn aiding her for her helping him escape?
Or is he just as likely to blast her with his rage?
Or perhaps he just runs off to go about his own business?
(Typical movie scenario here, could go either way)What does he do with all the weapons, materials, and other junk that we dump on him? Has he been turning it into other things for personal use in his prison? Maybe he was plotting his own escape and we’ve been stupidly supplying him with goodies. Perhaps he consumes some of the items as nourishment? What does a djinn eat anyway?
Are we going to have to hunt him down later and stick him back in a rebuilt mystic forge?
Or maybe instead we will track him down and offer him gifts to earn his favor? Then again…. perhaps the mystic forge is actually indestructible, and therefore does not get destroyed with the fall of lions arch. However, now it’s just not quite so easy to access it to dump stuff on the djinn in hopes of better shinies.
Too many questions…
Zommorros isnt really trapped there, he just lives there.
I still think Lion's Arch isn't the target.

Its Gnashblade, obviously.
On a more serious note, I was thinking it might be the Fracs portal she wants, but thats being moved as well apparently.
