While there are some Asura, as individuals, who would be interested in world domination, their culture makes it unlikely that they’d go to war as a large, united front.
Mainstream Asura society places its highest value on the pursuit of knowledge. The people that they hold in highest esteem are the smartest and the cleverest. It doesn’t matter to what purpose you have devoted your intellectual pursuits, it matters that you do something new and interesting. So power is only useful in that it allows access to better research supplies, expands fieldwork opportunities, and the like. (This is why the Inquest are tolerated where the other major races ostracize their “bad factions.” They’re smart and produce research results. They’re considered bad because they go too far, not because their goals are wrong; whether the Inquest’s highest priority is actually research or power is an open question.)
Not all Asura are like this, of course. We see merchants, especially in Lion’s Arch. We see police officers, and soldiers. They have the Arcane Council, which many Asura deeply fear being appointed to because then they won’t have time to do their own research projects! But as a whole, their culture doesn’t have any reason to rule the world. They feel their superiority is self-evident and have no compulsion to prove it, and ruling the world would force them to be management rather than scientists.
Oh please, everyone knows the only thing Asura care about is the size of their ears.
Maybe an exotic barber could come over for the Queens Jubilee?
There’d be a lot more votes if there was an incentive. I for example got 100 tokens from mostly doing the arena on day 1. Since I don’t need any more pins, why would I want to click 100 times to get 100 pins just to delete them, when I could just delete the tokens.
I agree, a kind of Kickstarterish incentive program would be nice.
Note E never refers to himself as a “Mr.”. Ellen Kiel could call herself E as well.
I encountered the same thing while wandering in Orr. My original theory was that maybe these were really recent Risen, but that wouldnt explain the other mobs carrying them. And then I realised: somewhere, Evon or someone else is flying around, dropping tokens and reminders from an airplane. Just flying around, dropping stuff on our heads.
They should probably add in an option like that for merchants too, or at least a "buy x’ option for when you buy materials or something.
Did it a few days ago, had no problems whatsoever. Really weird that this happens.
‘what is this strange leafy creature.’
Exact quote from Dessa, the Fractals operator.
Clearly you didnt pay attention to the teacher in the Zephyr Sanctum. Theyre not evil; they just know its time to rise and so they rise, like the tides. They don’t notice or care about those that will be trapped when they rise.
Plus, the dragons were here first.
I definitely want a casino. That’s a good thing.
I think it’s great that you guys are fans of Cantha and I would personally like to see it in the game as well. But what you’ll be finding under that tent (very soon) is not Canthan.
Could it be something like this?!
The Collapse could be a result of Destroyers burrowing I guess, but that would disappoint me.
Quirky Jig, Quick Jumping, Quality Jingles, Japanese Quarter?
Scared the crap out of me when I first encountered one though; think it was the necro. Just walking through flameland, doing my thing, when suddenly a guy jumps out of the ground, transforms into rats and starts eating me! I know eating greens is important, but Sylvari really arent delicious, I swear!
The LA sewer system is actually mostly enclosed (we only see a small portion of it, which was busted open), and acts no different than most sewer systems that lead straight to a body of water.
DR’s system contains drakes though. 85,7% sure of it.
Maybe a Largos assassination? One appears not too far away I believe.
I see… Lines of red tape everywhere eh? The Shining Blade covering up the existence of Canthans is definitely suspicious. Cantha sounds cool though, but if its not allowed its not allowed. Maybe a Great Collapse fractal could shed more light?
So I walk into Divinity’s Reach and this guy mentions theres a tent on top of the hole the Collapse left. I go look and there it is, didnt think it was there before this patch, someone would have noticed. Anyone know more? Speculation, ideas, anything?

PS Tents for the Tent-god!

Still this shouldnt happen, I dont like my stuff just disappearing like that.
Mine have disappeared as well, this is really confusing.
Anyone try reviving her during Claw Island mission? I swam all the way across to the west beach, followed the wall, climbed some stairs, killed a kitten tone of Risen (and died even more times doing it), FINALLY got to reviving her, and got nothing…
I swam all the way around to go get her and when I got there she was just standing there, smiling. I talked to her but she just said “I have much to teach!”. That made me sad…
Sometimes its not even when the creator is kicked… I made a HotW party once, we kicked this AFK Charr and the whole party just imploded. Everyone out of the dungeon, half quit cause they didnt want to go again…
+ 1 for more Order story quests, I like these ideas.
But I love JPs, they’re great fun! Lots of people do in fact, there should be more of them in the main cities or something. And Kites over Caledon JP has checkpoints.
See, the problem with most people here appears to be that they try once, someone tells them “NO!” once or twice and kills them and they get all whiny and quit. The thing about the Obsidian Sanctum is that you should keep trying, since the campers always go away after some time. If youre afraid of breaking your armor, take it off.

They really should put a limit on how far in fracs you can go without having achieved that level. Because while reading I kept wondering “How did he even get to level 10 fracs if he doesnt know how colossus works?” And then I realised everyone has their own reward level now.
What’s wrong with being Russian? Are there no moles in Russia?
The ability to laugh at oneself. “You” get a big part, not just some side-joke, no! A really big gig, dangerous – UNBLINDEABLE.
Organized, everywhere, spying on us – even got into the living story! Wasn’t the grawl, or the jotun, no! Once opressed by the evil dwarves you now seek revenge. Not just by, you know, sneaking up one by one in houses. No, you are building the mega-cannon.What did the french get? Or the spanish? Any good german villains in this game?
Don’t be insulted, it shows they care.
They all got WvW.
Maybe Arenanet needs to send around a mail about how people should check their mail so they know what to do…
Your post was as useless as his, if not more, it was a critique of uselessness…
Your post was as useless as his, if not more! It was a critique of uselessness. I like this chain… this chain is amusing.
@OP – do you really think ‘because evil dragons’ is going to provide something ‘because pirates’ doesn’t?
C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!
Skyrates OP
Knew it, she’s probably with the Aetherblades or the Separatists or the zombies.
It’s freaking hilarious how you end up in the middle of the battlefield if you idle in base too long though.
It’s pretty awesome, but honestly they had me at “holographic dragon backpack!”.
Surely you kid, OP. Did it with ele, engi and guard and I found guardian the hardest to do it with.
And I swear RTL range has been reduced, the tooltip just doesn’t show anything.
Yes, because what we need is more qeues!
In all seriousness, the queues are pretty long sometimes and pop up at the most unfortunate times. WvW doesnt need more players, at least not on my server. Theyll have to make it interesting some other way. Ascended gear can go wherever the kitten it wants to go.
On Fissure of Woe and Piken Square it is bugged as well, last time I checked. This has been going on for a long time now, hasn’t it?
I think it’s a hilarious and fun event despite the high deathtoll. Rewards could be upped ever so slightly though. Didn’t need a nerf at all.
