A lot of Ash Legion soldiers are necromancers, so Charr necro is not too uncommon. (At least I see them use the drain skill on necro dagger a lot)

Use glory boosters to increase glory gain.

You do not need to remove characters to switch servers, dont worry.

And my personal opinion is: Having 2 upgrade slots is quite unnecessary. I use staff as an Elementalist, don’t feel like dagger elementalists would have an advantage over me because they have two weapons and two slots. I got the kittycat range on my side.

Id heard people had been getting the wrong ones when they consumed the Endless tonic recipes, but I also heard this had been fixed. I bought the recipes off the TP and ended up with this (I didnt buy the princess one btw). Can this be fixed?

They give you the tempo before the piece begins. That’s more than lots of musicians post-high school get. We don’t need a metronome to keep the beat for us. If it was implemented to help those without any musical training or background, sure, I could see that, but those are the players who will likely switch the sounds off and rely primarily on hand-eye coordination to finish the game.

Can I ask what you’re doing that you don’t even get counted in by a conductor? I mean I’m a professional musician myself and I’ve never once had the scenario you’re saying happens.

And just so we’re clear, I consider professional to mean I’m able to live off the funds from music alone. Being good at an instrument in your room, you could be the best in the world and make nothing from it. You’re still lacking real world experience when it comes to a professional setting, organising salaries, protecting your legal rights.

Actually, I’m a professional musician as well :P It’s cool to meet others. It probably has a lot to do with conducting style, then. I’ve worked with a lot of conductors who expect your knowledge of the piece to be such that you don’t need a count in, except for maybe during the first few rehearsals to get a feel for it. However, YMMV, and I don’t mean that in a bad way. Different conductors do it different ways, as I’m sure you’re aware of :P.

@jokke: Have you ever played or been a part of a small ensemble without percussion? String Quartets and Piano Trio’s come to mind (yes, the piano is a percussion instrument, but he doesn’t exist to keep the beat for the ensemble :P), but I’ve also had instances where choral directors, for whatever reason, have decided to allow the chorus to dictate their own tempo as a group for stylistic reasons. In such instances, occasionally a single person will be decided as the “leader”, but typically (in my own experience, at least) the ensemble is expected to perform as a single unit, using their knowledge of period style, tempi, and various musical markings to dictate when the music should be played, and how quickly. Should certain parts fall to artistic license in regards to the tempo (as can be the case, more often than not in music from the 1800’s through the modern day in small ensembles), then it is usually only given to one part, which would be the part to follow.

However, in a video game without the ability to give artistic license due to a scoring system, this seems largely irrelevant.

A quest to unlock ascended crafting wouldve been cool, but its too late now. Also there would be much QQ (again).

This is exactly what I’m talking about. We aren’t really anything seeing as that Eles and cloth wearers can be just as tanky. The normal laws of other mmos don’t apply here. Everyone compares apples to oranges.

Sure, necros and mesmers with DS and clones, but Eles?

Isn’t ele the squishiest class? I have 20k health at the end of the WvW week, don’t think I’ve ever gone above that. And apparently that’s a lot for eles, most ppl I see seem to have 17k. My lv40 necro had 30k in WvW once, in greens-blues, and hardly any vitality gear.

No other class/build in the game is this flawless, in fact the last time I remember a class having this much utility was just after launch when eles were the hotness, and we saw what happened to them. We had to lose something, looks like it’s damage.

As far as PvE goes, I think they could help issue with hammers in the Merciless Hammer trait by adding the following bold to the trait.

Hammer damage is increased by 25% when a foe is disabled, or has 1 or more stacks of defiant.

Yeah, poor eles. I seem to remember Warrior being considered rather useless back then, it’s really turned around now, hasn’kitten Ele is often considered something you shouldn’t pick in TPvP these days, and Warrior’s in it’s heyday.

This may have been thought of before, but I haven’t seen anyone discussing it yet. I read something about the Consortium being in Kessex Hills now, and Southsun came to mind, which made me remember that Canach had been using some kind of plant toxins to mess with the wildlife on the island. Now Scarlet starts using plant toxins for similar purposes, but on a grander scale. Could they be working together, or is Scarlet at least basing some of her work on Canach’s? Or is it simply a coincidence, and are they just fond of plants because they are Sylvari?

The whole “trying to summon something from the Mists” idea is good, but then you started misinterpreting things and you got a little off track. Not a bad theory.

They couldve at least let the JP remain the same; doing it with my friends was one of the best things last year….

I freaking hate how people just camp the orb on Spirit Watch, the teams I get in SoloQ never seem to bother with capturing points.

It’s easy to take the Ele’s health down low enough for your skill-less, braindead condi spam to work, but if someone builds to defend themselves against a condi build expect it to work!

Also, I do not recognize ANY of your account names and none of you Necro apologists are anywhere near top 500 on LB so why should anyone take your opinions seriously?

You do realize that with a mere 20 points in Water Magic and Signet of Renewal, you can stand and auto-attack in water attunement to completely negate the necro’s direct damage? You would heal 274/second if you only auto-attacked once per second, and all water attunement autos fire faster than that. A necro’s direct DPS (with 30 points in our Power line and wearing a Carrion amulet) against a diamond skin ele (minimum 2300 armor) is a bit less than that (only 279 against 2200 armor).

You talk about braindead play? There you are. An ele running X/X/30/20/X can stand perfectly still, using their weakest auto-attack option, and still bring down a condition necro with no fear whatsoever.

The necro won’t die to an autoattacking water attuned ele either.

And how would the necro not die? He is taking damage and, unlike on the ele, it sticks due to only having the #6 to regain health, and even with no power investment, the ele will deal more damage every 26 seconds than consume conditions can heal. Feast of Corruption would give no life force at all because there are no conditions on the target. Necrotic Grasp, the only other source of life force for condition necros, travels so slowly, you can cause it to miss with light strafing.

It may take a long time, but the necro would die. The ele might have to sidestep some slow-moving projectiles, though, so I guess my earlier portrayal isn’t 100% accurate.

Necro has high up time of Regeneration with Staff. Necro has their heal skill. Necro also have Death Shroud to absorb damage.

Water auto attack also has pitiful damage.

You mean like how ppl go out and yell in map or guildchat when theres a world event? And once you get to a world event, theres usually ppl mentioning whats next (at least on my server).

Yeah, I noticed a Consortium Subassessor just outside Black Haven. Looked a bit strange to me, he was asking for directions to the tower. Didnt tell him anything, and he warned me that once the Consortium buys out the BL trading company things were gonna change a lot.

I understand completely. In fact, I wish I could’ve gotten the Molten Boss achievement (leader DC’d just before it and ppl quit, didnt get it since then). The achievement category should’ve stayed longer, but it’s cool. I can deal with not getting EVERY SINGLE AP.

Wait, isn’t Winter-een-mas just the last few weeks of january? And Scarlet likes technology and chaos, which the toys have a lot of capacity for (as seen last year).

Id like some time to work at getting my rank higher still so I can unlock the finishers, so dont implement this change too quickly. Apparently rank 80 wasnt even reached yet, Id at Least like to see that happen.

Ranks will be removed imho because they are unnecessary considering what PVP is supposed to be.
There is no competitive game (afaik) out there where you are rewarded for how long you play. Rewards are based on how good you play.
Let’s take LoL as example, since it is the most played competitive game: you have an account level, from 1 to 30, which only purpose is to be an entry barrier to ranked matches. And that is exactly how it should be in GW2 imho.

Players need skill-based rewards, not farm-based ones.

But in LoL even if you lose all the time you will still reach lv30, its not about individual skill but time spent playing and getting a good team.

The only place where agony just “randomly happens for no reason” is Jade Maw, as far as I am aware. Everywhere else its an effect of the boss’ s attack, like the aoe in cliffside (hammer fractal) or the cannons and lasers in the aetherblade fractals.
