The problem is inflation… if you print more money, then those who have money saved lose out as their money is now worth less. So those who have saved badges lose out in this case because any future item that costs badges will likely be more expensive to compensate for the easier access to badges.
I personally don’t like this because I feel badges should only be awarded for WvW activity — I’d be happy if badges were taken out of the JP’s entirely.
Except like these badges are not trade-able, unlike money. So inflation doesn’t apply.
You get a legendary solely for its skin. You can transmute it wherever even on a friggin level 1 weapon and let your level 1 Lion Arch character use it. Its purely aesthetic. Don’t worry bout not programmatically being the best in slot (since it is the intrinsic nomenclature/item stat that is shown as the item by vendors) when transmuted because you will one way or the other will get the BiS item with the nomenclature that you really want, transmute it to your legendary skin and still be the BiS legendary.
Been playing this setup since i leveld my guardian to 80 months ago and i agree it is God-mode-like build. Now i play with 0/0/30/30/10 cuz of newly changed mace trait and access for AH tho.
You can go 0/0/20/30/20 and you can get mace of justice and absolute resolution (good if you specc battle presence (you don’t need pure of voice if you have soldiers rune)
Short Regen+Battle Presence + Trait that make symbols heal = clutch healing.
WvWvW is the endgame and guardians are indispensable there for support. Some go for tanky dps tho but generally Guardians are wanted for support. Have you ever watched the Red Guard Farewell video that had Guardian PoV? Thats the textbook role of guards.
And for support you would want a staff, which you have. mace got buffed so mace and shield are good 2nd weapon set, which you also have. The weapon of choice next is hammer. Almost all support guards use staff and hammer. Hammer for the ring of warding, banish, and the one that causes immobilizes. Hammers are great too because they have Blast as finisher, which is indispensable for group buffs (+water = healing. +fire=might, etc etc)
So you already have staff. mace and shield. the next thing to get is hammer.
WvW leaving Kaineng is sad. It’s OK that WM, CO, RISE, RE, XF, Meow left. But WvW? The guild that has been in Kaineng since T8? I remember Taiwan Man trash talking CO members when they announced a departure party in LA.. Where the kitten is the server loyalty that I heard from Taiwan Man that day? I guess they ate their own words.

Or a GW2 player could propose to her gamer fiance by making a custom arena “Jen Honey Sugar, Will You Marry Me?”
Or prolly a roleplayer would setup a Custom Arena to be the “Tyrian Church” where weddings among toons are held, prolly in spirit watch.
Or prolly a Custom Arena called “e-Brothel” where Erotic RPing/Cybering are held, passworded of course (patrons pay gold for the entry.)
