i’m mastery gated at raid. exp are wasted as long as i haven’t completed the raid.

lol.. i thought someone started selling guild already….

i notice if you turn and face them they run away from you.. little bugger…

the mastery tier progression should be based on how many mastery point captured while that tier progression is active, not by grinding exp.

for example, if a particular mastery tier require 8 mastery points, each mastery point captured while that tier is active should progress 1/8 of the exp/progression bar.

for points accumulated retrospectively like Central Tyria, if the points are sufficient once a tier is selected , that tier can be completed already.

current system is flawed…

it’s only advertisement, you don’t have to buy it, and it’s not like it is interrupting your game play every 5 minutes….

try to capitalize from it. make Legendary weapon and sell it… i did… i had 7 Gift of Mastery prior to HoT launch, because i was expecting the new legendary would use the same gift. now left with 3…

Events in Guild Wars 2 have always been on timers. They were never random. Back when World bosses were on set schedules, they had windows in which they would spawn. Depending on the world boss the windows had differing lengths. Other dynamic events that occurred on maps also had timers. Notice how there were champ trains and the Orr karma trains. Each event is set on a timer for when it finishes to spawn again.

not really. world boss yes, on fixed timer. other than that they are random based on players action. i remember hopping from one server to another before the megaserver looking for temple events. their phases are not running concurrently on diffferent servers…

Just leave instance owner at the start and “leave it to buddy”. Just bring some friends there and let them deal with wolves. Instance owner don’t move out of the start area. Easy and painless.

Such a kittenpunch to my face that I solo this kitten achivement for an hour.

that method works too, if you could find people who want to do the same achievement , taking turns in getting it, otherwise you’ll have to use summons…

I am not following… does the warbler do anything? I thought it just told you where to go.

it allows you to transform back to original character form (from rabbit form) when you use the warbler. you don’t have weapon skill but you can use your utility skills. so, minionmancer necro or turret engi , or any class with summons skill won’t have problem killing the boss alone.

timed event started when they released Dry Top, then Silverwaste, and then the whole HoT.

is timed event the future direction of GW2 ? no more dynamic event like the vanilla Tyria content (excl. DT and SW ) ?

to those who haven’t done the story, or still have other characters that haven’t pass this chapter, whatever you do , choose to help Tizlak. the Nuhoch Warbler given to you by Tizlak in the following chapter (“In Their Footsteps”) after that is very useful in doing the “Leave It To Me” achievement in the chapter “City of Hope”, specially if you have a necro or Engi.

wvw masteries like arrow cart mastery, catapult mastery etc ? gain more ranks…

the more frequent you login to the game, the faster you get accumulate laurels….

as a hard core harvester whose gold to make legendaries come mostly from harvesting, i support this ….

i’m talking about Verdant Brink mastery points. why is it that we get only 1 mastery point for completing all the chains for all the Outposts ? i think we should get 1 mastery point for completing each outpost event chain, like we get in Tangled Depth , where we get 1 each for completing the chain for Ogre, SCAR, or Rata Novus etc.

that is more proper that locking mastery point behind mini-games….

for the Ley-Line run, how and when do you use skill 2 ? i can’t get gold.. only silver so far…

yeah, gating many mastery point behind mini-game is bad since many do not like to play mini-game…

well, since the spider nerf, the most effective way is by doing the meta events like you did, while at the same time completing the event chains that grant mastery points, and doing the achievements that give mastery point as well ….

Go farm events, you get more exp and stuff…

when you can get 2-3k a kill from spider over and over again it adds up a lot faster then any map meta in HoT.

which is why i’m not bothered at all with the old legendary precursor crafting, at least for now. the only Legendary that interest me now is H.O.P.E.

is new elite specs really more powerful than the core specs ? i would say they are just another trait line, that’s all. old specs can still own the new elite specs if you’re good enough.

can it be completed with multiple team doing it concurrently ? this week my guild got the mission where you have to accumulate 8000 rank point within 30 minutes. most of the time , the time running are wasted on queuing….

yeah, they just need to add new mastery for WvW. autoloot mastery. by now many already have excess wvw mastery(rank) point.

please, no. detrimental to social aspect of MMO. besides, exploring is easily doable without companion in this game.

why don’t you just craft a Legendary with those gifts you already crafted and make gold from it ?

To me, HoT is just a collection of terrible maps with overpowering mobs. It’s like Orr was in the early days, except much more powerful and harder to find your way around.

You can’t find your way around, and it seems the entire map is gated by masteries. Add to that an unbelievable number of mobs that are way beyond a level that leaves the game playable.

The mastery system seems like it could be interesting material, but the glacial pace of getting masteries means it’s just a grind. I don’t mind grinding somewhat for equipment, but grinding just to be able to survive the mobs is simply wrong.

And, what’s with the events? SW had a lot of events, but they were distinct and easy to understand. The events in HoT range all over the place, and you have to finish them to get credit. But, the only way to follow the event runs you through a horrendous number of mobs and other events.

So, my question is, is there a way to disable or remove all HoT content, and get back to the original game?

just create an F2P account and you’re good to go….

well, honestly i wouldn’t worry much about the exp. i’m more concern about the mastery points available for me to spend. Exp would come from the normal gameplay, but mastery points you have to hunt. some of them are just too tricky, for me at least.

if only we can reset the mastery point spent, i would want to get back the 3 points I spent on Exalted Assistance. it doesn’t really help me in anything right now..

It’s not at all about when you got the ring.

I was unable to put my two rings in the forge until I removed the agony resistance infusions on them already, then I could put it in just fine. The system apparently is just preventing people from wasting infusions.

and i did remove all the infusion prior to attempt of attuning the ring……. still, it does not appear in the mystic forge selection… mine is Celestial, in case people are asking what stats…
