I did his mission a day or so after release and I didn’t have a stability skill equipped. I didn’t see a LOT of knockdown, granted I saw the mob tunnel and immediately either moved away or dodged away. It was a playstyle adjustment because, pft, Guardian’s don’t dodge story content.
Also, re: the unblockable periscopes: That freaking bugs me that my “blocks projectiles” powers don’t work on it.
I finished them both (they were long for various reasons*), and had a little trouble, but not a lot.
*I was playing a level 32-34 mace/scepter & shield guardian geared appropriately for that level, so no back or neck items.
The NPC went down a couple of times and I rallied once, I carry a rez signet so they were up pretty quick to contribute to the dps again. As others have said, destroy one objective at a time, deal with the mobs that spawn, then the net one, etc. For the norn settlement after freeing the villagers you can move away in between waves and the NPC will follow you, allowing him to heal up.
You guys haven’t commented on what I said about the Charr and Asuran races. I don’t think anyone can deny that most people really don’t like to play those races. This game just doesn’t have enough cool races. People want to play epic characters, and that means being a race that you think is cool. Look at WoW, a lot cooler selection of races… blood elves, night elves, orcs, dwarves, goblins, etc.
I prefer Charr and Asuran to the boring old elf any day.
I prefer the cutscenes by a vast margin over the existing in game scenes.
Awful. Comically bad.
I would like to suggest to add ability to track these NPC that are active similarly to achievement tracking (IE you activate guild bounty tier 2 and u will see list with 3 NPCs on the right side of the screen with timer).
Guild menu is little rusty for this since it has to load your members and then u have to move throu few clicks (nothing to say about its size that is huge just for listing active NPCs)I’d like to get this added but that portion of the screen is getting a bit crowded. We’re looking into other options as well, such as moving the missions panel to the top level list of tabs or somehow displaying it on the main page.
Well, if we could turn off some of the stuff there that would be a start.
Same here the vast majority of the time.
I’ve found that it all depends who you get as bounties. Now, you need to hunt them with your level 80’s just because you never know where you’ll be sent (South Sun at level 13, etc).
Tricksy is a PitA because Blazeridge is freaking huge and she can cover almost the entire map. The South Sun guy hides in dead Karka’s kitten
We split up in to as many teams of 3 or 4 as we can and pre-scout then just decided to go ahead after a bit and hope we get the ones we’ve found or have luck.
Jumping puzzle trolls feed on tears like yours.
It’s in WvW because it gives Blueprints.
Also, with the last update, ANET clearly wants the EB puzzle to be camped. I am not being sarcastic. Before the recent patch, people were able to go through the puzzle fully stealthed via the “Mystic Fountain” and through the dark room using either: Consumable torches or the Mad King’s Book. Unfortunately, ANET nerfed these ways of getting through the dark room and avoiding arena campers. Here’s a video demonstrating how to get past arena campers in full stealth.
This method doesn’t work anymore because when you reach the start of the dark room you can’t use Mad King’s Book or consumable torches to light the way anymore.
ANET supports JP campers.
Can you still just crank your full-screen gamma the way you can in Sharktooth?
Would you be still paying for it now or would you freezee the account (temporary not paying) until something new worth playing came out (like an expansion?).
Honest answers please.
I probably would do the 2nd thing.
Second option. Just like I do for my F2P or sub games that have sub bonuses.
I’m still averaging 5e/3r using the mystic kits. Granted that’s only across 50’ish rares.
Bunny backpack!
Bunny costume!
Sadly, I expect this.
I like this change. I still get my rares, I can keep going for the randoms on alts. Nice.
But they do need more people like Gaile Grey to be community liasons. Right now it’s atrocious.
Now don’t shoot me for saying this but… Ascended gear being more easily attainable now is great but they are most useful in fractals where they were previously only available. I think it’d be nice for them to introduce something else other than fractals that could make use of the AR.
I have to disagree. The more content they add Agony to the more required infusions become. As infusions can only added to ascended gear that means I need to get that gear to do future content additions. It becomes a must have rather than a nice to have. It’s already a must have for fractal runners, but at least it’s available from there as well.
Once all the ascended “gear” is in, I’m certain we’ll see ascended upgrades. :/ Oh well. Keep on keeping on I guess.
I have to say 1-ish a week as well. Two this week, but that’s anomalous.
I honestly wish there were no number at all. I know the min/max crowd is crazy about them, and loves them, but to me, it’s the least immersive part of any game. I mean, if you’re thinking about numbers, you’re not in the world.
If I attack a wolf with a sword in real life, a number doesn’t pop out of it. Likewise in many other games, numbers don’t necessarily pop up. Numbers cheapen the entire experience for me.
I kill stuff, or I die. If I die too much, I change my build until I don’t die and still kill stuff. Reducing a game like this to numbers is exactly the opposite of how I’d rather play.
Lots of action/adventure games don’t have numbers at all and people still play them in great numbers.
But I guess I’m probably the exception to all this, so carry on.
If I attack a wolf with a sword in RL the only # that should pop up is 911 and I should call it, because I’m going to be dying real soon.
Also, said games don’t have WvWvW and SPvP that rely on knowing what things do what. They also tend to not have obscure abilities within abilities, ie: When I hit that guy with Y my next X attack does 2.75% more damage and has an increased 3% chance to crit.
Changing tooltips is a very difficult task.
Ba ha ha ha ha! Oh wait…
I’d be happy with the ability to prevent my account from logging in from Asia in general… maybe Russia too.
Patch Notes From the Future!
- Fixed a bug where you could sometimes NOT report your friends.
Still no wardrobe/cosmetic slots, so still no reason to waste money on “town clothes”.
Took WoW 5 years from launch to implement one, I remember when they did.
And now it is a standard feature that is expected to be there at launch. Like character customization, wardrobe slots, and dungeons.
Hehehe. Ben Wa.
I played GW for over 6 years and I do not have GWAMM nor will I ever be able to get it, because I got to 49points out of 50 and GW2 started. I have no complaints at Anet for not letting me get my last point for GW1 in GW2. I did not make it and so be it.
As an aside, you can go back and earn that point to get your GWAMM. At this point anyone can go buy EotN and such and earn HoM rewards. I’m only 3 points away from my Black Widow and I’m tempted at times to go back and get them.
It is the road, not the destination…
;-)The road blocks in the road, make the destination unreachable..
Bull[expletive]! There is not one single aspect of this game in which you cannot participate without a full set of Ascended gear. Not. One. Single. Aspect.
Please help me infuse my exotic gear so I can run level 30-50 fractals with my guild and not get obliterated by Agony.
Are there any 30-50 fractals that are different than the ones you see between levels 1 and 10?
Nobody runs 1-10 because they want the rewards, understandably, and the Agony doesn’t start happening until 11+
The other poster chiming in with “They’ll have to revive you” <sic>, apparently thinks it’s okay for at least 1 person ikittenman team to be useless and downed during boss encounters. Thanks for carrying me team. Sorry I can’t contribute in any meaningful way.

on any server.
1.) what made you choose and stay on the server you’re on?(other than friends)
2.) what will it take for the wvw players to get you into wvw?
3.) wvw benefits your dungeon runs, do you not agree that helping us get the buffs you benefit from is the right thing to do?
4.)is it the repair bill that scares you out?(i farm maybe 2 hours a week and that’s a 7g profit each week i’m sorry but i can’t see that as valid. to each their own maybe)
5.) why would a risen priestess of milandru be impressed with your Legendary?
6.) to my GOM bros specifically, some of the PvE guilds on our server are upwards of 300+(and active), can you grasp how much of a difference just 1/10 of your guild members would make if they were active in wvw daily?
7.) World Vs. World is one of(probably the) best way for your guild to not only get recognition, but respect. if your guild is influential enough here…you get the point.
Something i’ve realized, that the fact of the matter is, PvE heavy servers will stay that way until WvW’s incentives surpass PvE’s. That or thief gets nerfed hardcore.
However, if open world pvp were introduced…the tune might change quickly.
k, gripe over.
1) Friends were on it. I moved servers after guesting with a new guild and deciding I wanted to move to their server.
2) Make it PvE
3) Until I’m 80 I don’t even run dungeons, and even then I don’t run many
4) Nope, not the issue
5) Why do think your kitten interests me?
6) Some of them do play WvWvW, just not me
7) Doesn’t make me want to do it
My Ele was my first character but stalled around 30 when I lost interest. I want to be a PvE support Ele, but able to handle myself when out soloing hearts, doing DE’s, etc.
I’ve kind of put this build together, possibly with flawed logic, and would like some input or recommendations. I’d like to make her my next 80.
I admit that the general tone of the GW2 background is lighter and sillier than GW1. However, I’m now going to make an Asuran that joins the Order of Whispers just to combine all the silly in one place… A Sillularity if you will.
I’m treating the Legendaries as a personal goal once a character is 80 and outfitted in their exotics. At that point, any cash, resources, etc on that character go towards that characters Legendary. Spares go to the next character that can use them.
I don’t grind for Legendaries. I don’t have one yet either.
Sheesh. If I’d known Abyss dye was so freaking rareawesome I might have sold mine when I got it.
My Engy is only 31 and I don’t do PvP/WvWvWvWhatever.
That disclosure out of the way:
Elixer C: Turns all conditions into Boons
The Alchemy trait line with -20% Elixir recharge, +20% Duration, 8% chance to turn incoming conditions in to boons, the 30 point trait where you become immune to conditions at 25% health, or the other trait where conditions are removed from targets affected by your elixirs, like your healing Elixir H.
Elixir S breaks stuns and evades attacks as well which would help with the running away thing. The goggles also break stun.
You want to PvP? Gotta make the sacrifices. I don’t want to PvP
Not just pets. All minion types as well (necro minions, mesmer illusions, ranger spirits, etc).
> People who make jokes on the forum are given infractions \^_^/
In Soviet Russia fun posts you!
I’ve laughed at several of these posts. Nice job OP, +1 for you.
This ridiculously expensive food was the only thing that kept me -close- to on par with guardian while still not being nearly as good at tanking with my tank build.
Can I have your stuff?
Also, why weren’t you a Guardian if they’re all super awesome immortal lolpwnwin machines?
Generally I wish I could slot a regular skill in my “10” spot. Lots of regulars I would/do use more than my elites.
It’s optional. If you have exotic you are fine. Ascended is for players who a little bit more but it’s not necessary. What’s so hard to understand about this concept?
Exotics are no longer BiS. New end-game content will be balanced around Exotics being the minimum requirements. Ascended will be the norm and the batch after Ascended will be the “good to haves”.
Which race should I go with or does it not matter?
- It doesn’t really matter as long as you adjust the nose size to maximum.
Norn if you go for ranger
and norn if you go for warrior
both female of course
have I mentioned Norn?
So he can sound like a woman with a 30 year smoking habit?
Race doesn’t matter so just pick something you like.
I’d love traits, powers, procs, etc to show the actual chance of proc’ing, actual damage they would do, actual effect, etc. The full monty.
“Damage target at the end of a dodge” would become “Does 24-275 damage to target adjacent at the end of a dodge. Can only trigger once every 5 seconds.”
“20% chance to somespelleffect on hit.” would become “20% change on hit to do 24-275 fire damage to all enemies within 10 feet of the target”.
That kind of thing. Actual data is so useful.
The butter is in my inventory and I throw it on the market at the end of every play session (my collection is full).
Which sucks hugely and is a nasty surprise for those who didn’t realise GW2 was a ‘forced grouping’ game at the point it matters.
If you’re so opposed to playing with others, why are you playing this game? It’s never been advertised as a single player game.
Okay, I’ll do it with a buddy. Oh wait. It’s a dungeon and I need a full group? kitten that. bad design is bad. Period.
Every MMO out there I can go 1-cap without being FORCED to group. I can’t do all the content, but I can do all of “my” story (for those MMO’s that have such a thing).
I filled out some missing bits with rares using a couple of boxes. Otherwise I really like the 10 unidentified dyes to market.
Abnormality: Just started the mission there-after, this time being a level 51. My first encounter with the enemy was absolutely normal… Was it simply just a fluke with my incredibly low damage?
I’ve occasionally had this happen vs Risen Brutes. Only in PS instances too.
You do realize the complexity involved in Quaggan speech patterns right?
“George is getting VERY angry!”
“Quaggans are unfailingly polite, so much so that they consider most self-reference to be offensive and self-centered. As a result, they rarely use the pronouns “me,” “my,” or “I,” instead preferring to use the general term “quaggan.” As a result, conversations with quaggans may frustrate more direct races. The phrase “I’ve lost my pet fish. I’m sad” becomes “Quaggan has lost quaggan’s pet fish. Quaggan is sad.” This manner of speech leads many to assume the quaggans are childlike or less intelligent. The quaggans are actually quite wise, but in ways that are different from most other races.”
In the same way that a ball of poisoned magma is a soothing balm, but in a way that is different from most other soothing balms.
Until recently I was:
Log in shortly after resets.
Do my dailies.
Log out.
Then after getting one of each class and covering all the races I went back to my first toon. Now my time looks more like:
Log in when I get home from work.
Continue to complete maps while walking to next story mission instance.
Complete dailies as I go (mostly, sometimes I have to specifically aim for a goal).
Log out when it’s time to sleep.
I still need 3 points for my HoM so I do go back from time to time. It’s a very enjoyable game rich with lore and surprises.
Even the Abaddon fight required that we at least move around. And dying was quite possible.
Well of course you could (and needed to) change your skill load-out once you crossed over in Nightfall.
I still find that mechanically GW1 is a superior design. I like a few of the tweaks in GW2, but they are minor “prettying up” changes.
Nope.
It would add more trait points, unless they don’t give those out which defeats the purpose.
It would muck with the gear.
Etc.
They made a cap. Stick with it. Work on new areas, including new starter areas as in GW1. Work on more skins and skills.
